The Oude Smederij is located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the village of Arum (on the Elfsteden route) and is centrally located between Harlingen (on the Wadden Sea with ferry services to Vlieland and Terschelling), Franeker (Planetarium and Frisian Museum), Bolsward (Broerekerk) and Makkum, located on the IJsselmeer with boulevard and beach.

The house is located in the most beautiful spot in the Netherlands, in the middle of the beautiful nature reserve De Weerribben. Located directly on the water, there is every opportunity to rent boats, canoes, bicycles or a sup. The farm is located on the Zuiderzeepad and many bicycle junctions. The spacious apartment has 2 separate bedrooms for a total of 4 people. Optionally, a third bedroom/studio can be booked separately, only in combination with the apartment. There is paid parking available in the street or at Spoorstraat parking (150 m). Indoor parking for bicycles available upon request.

Overlooking the Elfsteden route and a jetty in front of the door, a perfect starting point for a boat or bike ride, fresh dive or just a nice cup of coffee on the waterfront. Close by are the towns of Bolsward (6km) and Workum (6km) where you can find the beach, restaurants, beautiful regional shops and supermarkets.
