Private Cottage Natural Light, 4 mi to Downtown AC

Start the day at the breakfast bar of this classic Seattle Craftsman, nestled in a tranquil setting on the corner of vibrant Phinney Ridge. Natural light, exposed beams, and high ceilings make for a bright, contemporary space with a welcoming feel. The cottage has an inviting open floor plan with an interior set of stairs (illuminated). The bathroom is located on the entry level and all other living space is upstairs. You'll find a queen sized bed in a private room that closes off with a solid wood pocket door. The backyard cottage is a stand-alone unit with no occupants above or below you. Upon entering your private space find gleaming white oak floors, classic millwork and eye-catching lighting. Kitchen features stainless appliances, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal, ice-maker and a fully equipped kitchen, lots of counter space, and a kitchen island that seats 4. Modern furnishings, dimmable lighting, front loading washer and dryer. Stay cozy and warm in the winter and cool and relaxed in the summer with high output heat pump and air conditioner. Our Cottage sleeps 4 people. You’ll find a queen size in a private room that closes off with a solid wood pocket door and a pull out sofa bed. The pull-out sofa bed, located in the living area, has all necessary linens, mattress protector, and alternative down mattress topper for added comfort. Please keep in mind the cottage is only 550 square feet and could be tight for four adults (I.e. - when considering luggage storage), but completely doable. Some travelers may find the space is too small for their liking. The bedroom has a queen bed with mini side-tables. Please note -there is not a lot of walking room around the side of the bed. The closet in the bedroom is roomy (can fit an open child's pac-n-play) and there is also some storage in the bathroom/laundry room. The bathroom countertop is larger and will give you lots of space for your things. Overall, the space is well thought out and is very practical. The cottage does have an interior set of stairs as the main living is on the upper floor. The bathroom is on the first floor allowing for privacy. This could possibly be a concern for younger travelers not accustomed to stairs (the unit is not childproof). Stairs are nicely illuminated with stair lighting. The remainder of the first floor is my personal yoga studio. The studio is completely separate with it's own entrance on the other side. The cottage was insulated with special noise canceling drywall (quiet rock) and framing (r-channel) - so you will not even notice! Guest will have access to the cottage which includes; a bathroom/laundry room, kitchen, living room, and a small bedroom (Please note -there is not a lot of walking room around the side of the bed.) with a roomy closet. Please let me know if you need a secure place to lock your bike- as we can make arrangements on site. Your privacy and space is very important to us. We try to welcome each guest in person. However - if you want local tips and/or have a need we are here for you! My husband and I are avid birders - so if you are wanting some hot local birding spots please ask. The Phinney Ridge neighborhood separates Ballard and Green Lake, offering an array of family-friendly venues. It's the perfect mix of quiet neighborhood and inner-city energy, just steps from the Zoo/Rose Gardens, Fremont Troll, Wallingford, Brewery District of Ballard and Greenlake's 2.8 mile path around the lake. Use transit for a short ride to South Lake Union, Downtown, Seattle Pacific University, and University of Washington. Street parking is free and available. Enjoy your quiet oasis. Walkability is fantastic. You can walk and enjoy Seattle's nearby neighborhoods such as Ballard, Green Lake, Fremont, and Wallingford. Enjoy the Ballard Locks and brewery district, Fremont Troll, and Greenlake’s 2.8 mile path around lake with beaches, wading pool, children’s play area’s and public boat rentals. Transit is also a block away and will take you anywhere in the city. Use transit (bus #5)for a short ride to South Lake Union, Downtown, Seattle Pacific University and University of Washington. Our cottage is a stand alone, detached unit with high ceilings and loads of natural light. There is nobody above or below you! Your stay at the Drey will be quiet yet have easy access to the city. The Metro Bus line #5 goes directly downtown is two blocks away. Everything in The Drey is brand new and ready to make your stay enjoyable. Welcome to the Emerald City!
