Weaver's Landing

We offer one of the area’s only PRIVATE lake retreats. Come and enjoy a getaway in our peaceful lake community! The Town of Lake Waccamaw was incorporated in 1911, however, was inhabited by Native Americans for thousands of years. Southeastern North Carolina was covered by a shallow ocean more than two million years ago and you might find interesting fossils including sharks teeth, shells and coral as you swim in the shallow water. Be sure to visit Lake Waccamaw State Park to view the 2.75 million year old whale skull that was discovered embedded in a limestone outcropping several years ago. Measuring nearly 9,000 acres, the lake is unique in many ways ecologically with several endemic species of fish and mollusks (found nowhere else in the world).The lake is about 10 feet at the deepest with shallow waters along its shores, making it perfect for families with children. Tourist attractions include a local museum in a 1904 train depot, Lake Waccamaw State Park, our beautiful library, several restaurants, grocery and retail stores. The guest house is totally private from our home and features a vintage lake theme queen bedroom with flat screen television (Direct TV and DVD player), en suite bathroom with shower. All bed and bath linens are furnished. The common area/living room has a flat screen television (Direct TV and DVD player), a variety of movies, books and magazines, toys and board games for all ages. The fully equipped kitchen has a nice size refrigerator with a separate freezer, electric coffee pot or French press, microwave, and electric stove. A variety of cookware and utensils are available for your use as well as kitchen staple items. A washer and dryer is available in the garage below the apartment. We provide a few basic breakfast items for your first morning. There is a grocery store nearby for most anything else you would need. The living room couch/futon converts to a very comfortable full size bed. There is a large desk for our business clients and free WiFi. Other furnishings include a table with four chairs, rocking chair and leather recliner. Guests have access to an outdoor kitchen with a gas stove, and a double sink. You may use the charcoal or gas grill, enjoy the fire pit (wood provided), several bicycles, and two kayaks. We also have corn hole boards and other yard games you may use. Sorry, we are not able to accommodate your pets, but can recommend a delightful getaway for them. Although our log cabin isn’t on the lake front, it is just steps (the length of a football field!) from your apartment. You may use the pier for sunning, swimming, launching a kayak, fishing, relaxing or picnicking under the shaded canopy. Lake Waccamaw is conveniently located one hour from many beaches in Wilmington, N.C. and one hour from Myrtle Beach, S.C. We personally recommend Sunset Beach, which is about an hour.l

This cozy cottage walking distance from the Black River invites you to come swim, fish, or bring your kayak. Later you can hang out on the patio, soak in the claw foot tub, or build a warm fire in the wood stove. Enjoy nature just 20 minutes from White Lake. This is a relatively secluded location in a private neighborhood intended for getting back to nature. *Please note that the neighborhood was flooded in hurricane Florence last October so some of the homes are currently under renovation.

The container home at Buckhorn Farm

Get away from it all with this, rustic tiny home situated on a small farm. Sit out front and enjoy the sunset while you watch the horses, donkeys, goats and cows. We do ask you only feed the animals the provided treats. There is no wifi available, you can use your hotspot on your cell for the tv. Microwave and grill with a side burner for cooking. No indoor stove or oven. Toilet and sink inside, shower is outside. Close to downtown Wilmington and the beaches! Lots of local history as well!

Sweet Retreat

A great place for relaxation, enjoy some alone time or family time. Some new updates have recently been done to the Living room, Dining/Sun Porch area the lake view from inside the house is even better than before! There are two different shelters on the pier where you can relax and enjoy the sunsets. You are driving distance from the state park where you can enjoy hiking. There are several spots around the lake for good fishing. Grocery store, variety store and gas station are near by.

This guest suite consists of one bedroom (King bed) and a full bath. The private entrance is located on the front porch and the space is closed off from rest of the home. Space does not include a living room or kitchen. but there is a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker, comfortable sitting space, and a large porch to relax. There is also an air purifier in the room- with HEPA filtration, removing 99.9 of all particles in the air. The space is the size of an average hotel room.

Adorable Downtown lodging-dogs welcome! Apt.102

This 1-bedroom & 1- bathroom is perfect for 1 or 2 guests. It’s in the heart of downtown so you may hear some traffic but it’s our most popular place! It has black out curtains, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker & a dining table. There’s a restaurant/bar downstairs so you may also hear some noise during their hours of operation.. they close Tues-Thur@ 8:00pm Fri -Sat@ 9:00pm & closed on Sun. & Mon. We were having WiFi issues but thankfully that's now been resolved and works great!!

The separate Guest room is set in a beautiful tropical garden full of interesting and fascinating plants-palms, staghorn ferns, colorful bromeliads, and many more. One of our hobbies is propagating these plants because of their beauty and overall dramatic effect.
