The name "Ootan" we wanted to create an inn where you can encounter landscapes, air, people, words, and stories you have never encountered before. It is in a convenient location just 3 stops away from Kyoto Station (about 13 minutes by train), but it is not crowded, so you can avoid the crowds and have a quiet stay.Easy access to major tourist attractions in Osaka, Kyoto, and Shiga (Fushimi Inari 35 mins / Uji 45 mins / Gion 40 mins / Osaka 46 mins, etc.).Enrakuji Temple, a World Cultural Heritage site, Omi Jingu Shrine, and Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine are also nearby, and you can enjoy Japanese cultural heritage such as Karasaki Shrine and Sakamoto Castle Ruins, which are within walking distance, while strolling along the lake shore. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

kyoto villa soso (Near Kyoto station)

You can also use wifi. The bath is about the size of two adults and uses Japanese cypress. It will be a very beautiful room just opened in January. Please try and stay at once. The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

This is the only guest house (entire house rental) facing Shinmachi Street in an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. The streets lined with merchants' houses, built in the late Edo period to the Meiji era, give you a strange feeling as if time has stopped when you step into it. This Shinmachi neighborhood is important not only for its scenery but also as a historical site. This is a very rare accommodation where you can stay in such an area.

Although it is an old house built over 90 years ago, it is fully equipped with an open-air bath, a mini kitchen, popular Balmuda appliances, floor heating, etc., so you can have a comfortable stay.
