This beautiful bothy, in The Lake District's Duddon Valley is a wonderful, eco-experience. Come visit Old Oak Tree, and escape the rat-race. Light by solar energy, shower and eco loo outside - adding to the charm of this stunning little house, designed with escapism in mind. Everything in 1 room: kitchenette, stove for cooking and warmth. A double sofa bed. This is a fantastic off the grid experience for anybody looking for something completely different.

Cosy cottage with parking

Relax at this peaceful place to stay in the Western Lake District. There are plenty of lovely walks from the doorstep. The King George pub is only a minute walk away, serving lovely home cooked food and real ale. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, known locally as “La’al Ratty” is only a ten minute walk from the cottage. Eskdale Stores is open daily. The cottage itself has been recently renovated and has a secure garden with lovely views, ideal dogs.

Bigert Mire Cottage is a traditional stone Lakeland cottage situated in a hamlet in the unspoilt Duddon Valley. It is our weekend home, providing tranquillity and an escape from the bustle of modern life - a superb place to bring friends (& dogs) and to relax. Please note: -there is limited parking for 2 cars. - the property is not suitable for people with limited mobility or balance. - due to exposed rural location roads likely to be icy in winter
