About 4 klm away from Glyfada beach, although through a quite steep drive among olive groves, visitors may enjoy an absolutely lovely monastery that was built about four hundred years ago. Thank to father Daniel, it remains up to today a very peaceful place with lovely kept gardens and breath-taking views that offer to any visitor the tranquility and the feeling of nature's greatness

The most beautiful paradise on earth. The Igumen, Father Daniel, rebuilt this 16th century monastery from ruins. The miracle working icon of the Blessed Theotokos of Mirtiotissa was discovered here by the monastery's founder inside a cave in the shape of a dove, in the 1500s, who was also named Daniel. The icon adorns the church. Feast day is Sept. 24. A challenging drive down the mountain road to reach the monastery, but well worth your trouble.
