#1 train will take you to key stops on the west side. cetral Park West, Times square 42nd St, Grand Central station (with a transfer to a shuttle a Times square 42nd st) Midtown, Chambers street( 911 Memorial) South Ferry.

The 1 train is super-reliable. About 35 minutes to Times Square (where you can transfer to nearly every other train line). Quick transfer at 96th St or 72nd St for express trains.
