The Forte do Rato is an old fort which saved Tavira in ancient times for pirates. After the fort you will find the inner beach from Tavira with swallow water and a long beach with fresh water for swimming. Nice if you don't want to take the ferry to the island.

This is the only beach in Tavira that you don't need a ferry to get to. You can drive right up to the beach.

Poderá fazer caminhadas pelos trilhos existentes nas salinas e observar as aves ai existentes (flamingos). No final do passeio encontrará o Forte do Rato e uma vista magnifica para a Ria Formosa e Ilha de Tavira!
