A great starting point for exploring the moors with a number of walking and cycling trails from the centre, including a short walk to the Kilburn Horse. Fantastic views of the Vale of York.
Vet and author James Herriot declared the tremendous view from the top of Sutton Bank over the Vale of Mowbray and the Vale of York, the "finest in England". So why not stop at the top of the bank, visit the Centre and blow away the cobwebs with a walk or cycle ride. Great place for picnicking.
If you want to go cycling off-road but nice surfaces, check this out. It's got a fantastic range of cycle tracks and a pump track for the adventurous! Or go for a walk along the ridge and look across the vale of York - it's a big view - whilst the gliders take off. Or go gliding! There's a cafe, plenty of walks, and if you're feeling like a medium big trip, walk or bike to High Paradise Farm and stay the night or have a pizza from their pizza van.
