As a Japanese sushi lover that prefers sashimi and nigiri, rather than rolls, this is my go-to spot in Phoenix. It is in Scottsdale, and a small format mom & pop restaurant run by a Japanese family, and this place gets very very busy especially on the weekends, so make a reservation at least a few days in advance. Try sitting at the bar and order something you've never tried.
