Why locals recommend it

I often visit the smallest of the Southbank Centre concert halls to see new artists perform. It has excellent acoustics for chamber music, and is an intimate setting for chamber recitals. This is the place to hear young performers who have won some major competitions. It gives them the opportunity to perform in a prestigious venue.

Dine beside the River Thames. Inside the Southbank Centre you'll find its cafes and its Skylon restaurant. Meanwhile, outside is a wealth of restaurants and takeaway food outlets serving a ranger of cuisines from burgers to Mexican. Plus, from Fri-Sun there's an open-air food market.

Walk or take a bus here and then walk along the river. Great way to see the sights.
