The Donauinsel is a small island in the Danube river, which resulted when the river was regulated in the last century. Great place to swim in summer due to many beach bars and green areas. A paradise for cyclists, joggers, inline skaters as well as locals who just want to hang out and slow down from the hectic city life. Tourists can rent a bike and take a tour on the island, which is great fun with family and friends. As the island is very flat it is very comfortable to ride a bike there. A great event happens every year in the summer holidays. Then the Donauinsel turns into the biggest free-of-charge open air festival of Europe. A must-see in Vienna.

The Danube Island is not so far away and still feels like 'outside' - lots of green, equipped beaches, various places and you can also try wake-boarding there. Also great for cycling, since the area of the Donauinsel is very large
