Surrounded by 16 acres of parkland Clitheroe Castle was built in 1186 by Robert de Lacy and has the second smallest surviving stone-built keep in England. The museum opened on 23 May 2009 following major restoration to the Keep. The Castle Museum can be found next to the Castle Keep in the Castle Grounds.

This is great place to view the ribble valley and see why the settlement was started here over a thousand years ago.
