A place that houses a collection of Napoleonic objects and others related to the emperor as well as paintings, sculptures, costumes and furniture.
Just around the corner from my casa, the Museo Napoleonico contains about 7000 objects associated with the life of Napoleon Bonaparte. The collection was amassed by Julio Lobo and Orestes Ferrera, and is housed in Ferrara's former residence, the Villa Fiorentina, a beautiful and vast Renaissance-style mansion built in the 1920s.
This museum houses a large collection of about 7000 personal objects, weapons and works of art related to the life of Napoleon Bonaparte, which were gathered by Julio Lobo, the Cuban sugar tycoon; And Orestes Ferrera, politician. From the collection stand out Voltaire sketches, waterloo battle paintings, a mask from the collection of bronze mortuary masks, which was made two days after his death by his personal doctor; and the pistols that Napoleon carried to the battle of Borondino. This museum, which was renovated in 2011, can boast the most extensive and varied collection of Napoleonic period pieces nowadays, and is one of the most important museums in the world in its field.

Without a doubt one of the best museums in Havana and, by definition, Cuba, this magnificently laid-out collection of 7000 objects associated with the life of Napoleon Bonaparte was amassed by Cuban sugar baron Julio Lobo and politician Orestes Ferrara. Highlights include sketches of Voltaire, paintings of the Battle of Waterloo, china, furniture, an interesting re-creation of Napoleon's study and bedroom, and one of several bronze Napoleonic death masks made two days after the emperor's death by his personal physician, Francisco Antommarchi. It's set over four floors of a beautiful Vedado mansion next to Havana University. Stunning views from its terrace. Ten minute walk from Casa Quintana.
