Tips from locals
My regular café so be polite and nice. Learn Dutch by visiting on Sunday afternoon for the weekly poetry session.
This is a true hidden treasure in the very touristic 'Leidse Plein' area. The staff is well dressed and very gentlemanly polite. The bar is small and has his own local crowed (hardly any toerist seem to discover this little jewel). Think red velvet and dark wood. They even have two extra high seats that make sure you'll overlook the hole bar and feel like a king. Order yourself some Amsterdam brewed beer ('Ij-wit' or a 'Zatte' for instance and feel like a local. Make sure you'll blend in and act like a gentleman- or girl yourself and you'll have a great endless night.
