The burial place of Richard the Lionheart and his mother, Eleanor of Aquitaine. Stunning Abbey, beautiful gardens. A calm and serene atmosphere. The hotel on the corner outside has the best Earl Grey tea I have ever tasted!
Historic royal abbey with a wonderful art collection and contemporary art installations. Great restaurant too!
Not a Chateau... but a beautiful Abbey built in the 11th century. One of the largest surviving monastic cities from the Middle Ages. Art installations, lovely gardens. There is a café and brassiere and a Michelin star restaurant.
In the heart of the Loire Valley, site of the biggest abbey in Europe and tomb of Richard the Lionheart
