Bainbridge Island is a 30 minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. It’s a charming little town, you can walk or drive on the ferry for a charge. Expect it to be busy during the summer, there may be a long wait if you drive on.

Want a phenomenal day trip, with great views of the city skyline? Walk onto the Bainbridge ferry and enjoy the little town of Winslow. Be sure to stop into the Bainbridge art museum and go to Mora’s for ice cream!

If visiting port townsend from Seattle or South Sound, we recommend the Seattle to Bainbridge Island ferry route. These large vessels with frequent sailings will get you over to the Kitsap Peninsula in no time! You will arrive in beautiful Bainbridge Island, travel through the Viking town of Poulsbo, speed through the agrarian world of Chimacum, and into the heart of Port Townsend.
