This is a challenging hike. Very steep and long but worth the excellent views from the top!
Rated as Hard. Long but rewarding hike to the top of Bear Mountain. Estimated time: 3.5 hr Length: 4.9 mi Elevation gain: 1,975 ft Route type: Out & back
One of my favorite trails in Sedona. Ascend up four false summits before you get to the top. When you get to the top, you can see the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff.
Bear Mountain is a steep trail and can be hot. Nonetheless, it offers rewarding views of Sedona and the Secret Mountain Wilderness. If Bear Mountain is too much try Doe Mountain across Dry Creek Rd.
