Why locals recommend it

It's enormous and has the kind of vibe where the waiters are all wearing red suit jackets. And a lot of them have been bartending there for 40, 50 years. You're submerged in this culture that's been there for almost a century. The martini, which they shake. They give you a sidecar, which is the remainder of the martini still in the shaker, on a bed of ice. So you get extra martini with your martini.

You'd be hard pressed to find a more "Hollywood-like" restaurant in Hollywood. Infamously known to have an A-lister dining at all times, it is always a solid choice to eat here if you're into enjoying the Hollywood experience.

A classic and a must for all visitors to (and residents of) LA! Iconic and part of our history. Skip the walk on Hollywood Boulevard, though, unless you're into the really touristy and a bit dodgy stuff.

To get a taste of Old Hollywood, forget picking up a star map: Just head into Musso & Frank Grill. The iconic Hollywood haunt has been around since 1919 and has hosted glamorous clientele like Charlie Chaplin and Marilyn Monroe. Musso & Frank is one of those rare places in Los Angeles where the staff have been around for generations, making them some of the best conversationalists in town. Though A-listers may settle into the red leather booths, the seats at the bar give a front-row seat for the servers’ stories of Hollywood history (best enjoyed over chops and an expertly crafted martini).
