Why locals recommend it

People come to this restaurant in the city centre to try traditional Kenyan dishes like sukuma wiki greens and ugali—a staple made from maize—for just KES 500. The decor is very simple, a few plastic chairs and Coca-Cola umbrellas, and there’s a huge terrace that’s perfect for sunny days. You can get fish that’s spicy or mild, and request which herbs and spices you’d like it to be cooked in. I recommend ordering your fish “dry,” which tastes better than the stewed option. And add a side of kachumbari, a salad of chopped onion, tomato, and lemon.
