Harry's is a place where you will immediately be welcomed in as if you were a regular and treated to great food. Harry's first opened in 1921 by Bates' grandfather, and the bar's namesake, Harry Andros. Bates' father, Art Arvanites, took over the bar in 1965 and ran it until 2009 when his daughter and her husband, Hugh Bates, took it over. It use to sit in the shadows of the General Motors Fisher Body Plant before it closed in 2005. Before Harry's "reinvented" itself, it almost closed too, but now, it's considered one Lansing's best pubs. It doesn't get more local.
