Aapravasi Ghat dates from 1834. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and holds an important place in the history of Mauritius. Although the majority of the place is damaged, one can witness the remaining ruins which are not only beautiful but hold stories of different cultural and historical backgrounds.

If you're visiting the capital check out Aapravasi Ghat. This is where the indentured labourers first arrived. Entrance is free and there's usually a free tour also.
