Kenyatta Market

4 locals recommend,

Why locals recommend it

An open-air market filled with clothing stalls, African art, women offering hair weaving, everything you can think of! Most importantly, there’s a ton of nyama choma stalls where they cook in front of you while you wait. You go to the butchery, select your cut of meat, and then take it to the stall to be cooked. If you’re on a budget, this is the best way to try nyama choma—the market is incredibly affordable.

Perfect place to do some local-style shopping and amazing grills and restaurants hidden inside. Mostly for the carnivore, not really vegeterian or pescatrian friendly. Very easy on the pocket and you could easily get your hair braided as you pick out some locally designed clothes and accessories! Not the biggest tourist attraction but a major place in Nairobi.

Numerous little grocery stores a minute away from house along Mtongwe road, just outside the gate, and further on at this market!
