Bringing dynamic and innovative Japanese culture to life through mouthwatering creations.
Experience contemporary Japanese cuisine in the heart of Melbourne's arts precinct. Overlooking the Yarra River in the revamped Hamer Hall, this sleek city restaurant and bar offers new-style sushi along with classic Japanese dishes. Drop by for a quick bite on your way to a show or enjoy a slow dinner with friends on the riverside terrace.
Contemporary Japanese restaurant where you will expect soft braised pork belly in a delicate miso broth with a fudgy, slow poached egg, daikon and notes of truffle oil. It’s tasty stuff, but fresh fish is what Sake does best. Bright hand rolls filled with sweet scallops, or crisp-fried soft-shell crab; perfect nigiri topped with fatty salmon belly, or a stunning sashimi set of snapper, tuna and scampi cut with razor-sharp precision and laid out across rough-hewn boulders of ice. Sake ain’t cheap but there are some fun dishes and decent drinks to be had here.
