This is where the biggest German battleship, Tirpitz, ended its journey during the 2nd World War. One can see parts of the middle section of the hull above sea water, and there is a memorial monument at the site. Nice walks to the top of the Håkøya island N of the monument. Beautiful inland across the sea toward the Balsfjord fjord.

Minnested for de som omkom i Tirpitz under andre verdenskrig. En god spasertur eller kort kjøretur fra leiligheten. Er her på Håkøya.
