The Thai Sala in Westpark with its magnificent lacquer paintings and glazed bricks is the first Buddhist shrine in Germany. Walk through the park to the small lake where the pavilion is located. The sight is one of the relics of the 1983 International Garden Show, which you can still admire in Westpark. The Buddha sculpture in the center of the sala was even consecrated in 1994 by the abbot of a Buddhist monastery. Take advantage of the reflection of the pavilion in the lake and take a photo with the popular motif of the Sala and the Buddha figure. The Thai Sala was donated by a German merchant in Bangkok as a sign of German-Thai friendship and erected for the 1983 International Garden Show in Munich's Westpark. The Buddha sculpture was created by the Thai wood sculptor Nopradol Khamlae.
