Historic house on the Charente

We welcome you to our "Maison du Gardien" ( The Caretaker’s House) a 19th Century distiller's house which has been lovingly renovated to create a place of contemporary design, contemplation and relaxation. Located next to our own home you can enjoy an evening meal on your own private terrace but also get the use of our pool, gym, bikes and parking on our gated property. The two bedroom house is light and airy with beautiful views over our garden which reaches down to the river Charente.

A grand entrance reveals a historical building framed by a landscaped courtyard. Stone walls and decorative shutters accentuate the façade, while potted plants are positioned on either side of the entrance. The sky above is clear, with soft clouds visible.

Beautiful property on the banks of the Charente

Situated on the banks of the Charente, the appartment forms a wing of an ancient priory, set in it's own walled seven hectare park. With it's own private terrace overlooking the river and a twenty metre swimming pool, the park also contains formal gardens, rose walk and stone steps down to the river. Located in the heart of a picturesque village, surrounded by vineyards, the house is a short walk to a Michelin starred restaurant and local bar. The Cognac Golf course is a 3 minute drive.

A modern kitchen area is equipped with dark green cabinetry and a decorative black-and-white tiled backsplash. Stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator and oven, are present. A wooden island with a gray mat provides additional counter space, contributing to the overall functionality of the space.

Small accommodation of 32m2, at the gates of Angouleme where your privacy will be preserved. Located in a quiet environment, annex of our main house, not overlooked, in a cul-de-sac with forest, you can park for free in front of the accommodation without worry. You will be awakened by the birdsong while being close to the N10 (1 min by car) and 3 min from the city center (by car) or 5 min by bus. Close to all shops (convenience store, bakery, tobacco and pharmacy).
