Downtown and Vicinity

Sights and things to do in the urban city section of San Diego (only one of many interesting areas!)
Restaurant, bars, sightseeing, nightlife the Gaslamp Quarter is a must be at while you are in downtown. Happy hours galore. Be aware of baseball games nights and convention crowds. Use public transit.

Theaters, eateries, sightseeing at the Del... it's all here and fantastic views of the San Diego skyline. The westside of Coronado is great for sunsets! Ferry to Coronado costs $6-8 each way. Worth it as a thing to do... take your bike!

My favorite place in the whole world. More than 60 miles of hiking trails, multiple museums, free event throughout the week, the San Diego Zoo, this year is the Centennial, lots to see!

A little touristy but definitely a go - to for those who like the "festive Mexico" feel of southern CA.

Anywhere in Mission Bay is worth going to especially on a warm day. Plenty of space to run around and get wet anywhere near here. At 8:45 pm SeaWorld has fireworks - best seen from the Bay.

Don’t go to Cotija’s or Jack in the Box for a quick meal close by, go here. Solid all-around Mexican food, a variety of items, open 24 hours, and much better than Cotija’s, same price as Jack. Just at 25th and Market.

A couple of blocks east of Adalberto’s you’ve got La Cocina de Rosita, which has handmade tortillas, birria (goat meat) and a more welcoming sit down area than the always-open Adalberto’s. Our guests recommend the quesadillas.

Ok, so it's gotten a lot of hype. Too much hype. There are plenty of great taco shops in San Diego. But if you are dying to take a selfie at a place featured in food shows, this is it. Take the bus.
