For a quick, cheap meal in a friendly but quite noisy place. "Torta al testo" is a special sort of flat bread cooked on a stone (the testo) above fire. It's typical from Umbria, central Italy. it is eaten stuffed with ham, sausage or anything you may want, also vegetarian. I like the place a lot even because I'm half from Umbria and I feel at home when I go there. It's really good and the guys that work there are very nice.

Getting Around

A walk in the early morning gives you an idea of the Navigli without the crowds. Church bells ringing, people walking their dogs and children going to school... While the cafes open up and get ready for the crowd assault which is overwhelming in the weekends and in summer, from seven o'clock to late night. But the sunset on the canal is beautiful. And if you leave the crowd behind you and follow the lane along the canal, you can jog, walk or ride a bike out out of the city.

Parks & Nature

I don't think one comes to Milano to find green.... But if you're really in the need of an afternoon on the grass, Milano has some good parks and a very big one is Monte Stella, an artificial hill built from second world war remains. It's easily reachable with the red metro line 1, qt8 stop.
