Great menu, local food, every dish I've had is delicious and their beer selection is always great. If you're going to pay NYC prices for food, it might as well be great food.

Boutique gourmet dining. The chef grows most of the ingredients in his rooftop garden and so the menu is limited, shifting according to the day's produce. Always a fine meal.

Not always a great selection for fresh produce, but great for general needs -- milk & sugar, bread, cereal, etc. And sometimes you luck out on the produce!

A very Brooklyn scene. Armchairs & bookcases, usually a decent selection of beers, good food and bocce lanes upstairs; performance space downstairs -- cramped or cozy, depends on your mood.

You can come here three days in a row and see three different museums. Their collection is overwhelming and part of the fun is getting lost (star in your own Wes Anderson movie).

As a photography buff, this is a sweet spot. The museum is on the west side of 6th Ave, the school is on the east. Check out what the students are doing there sometime -- future photojournalists all.
