  • Only a short walk from the station made it ideal for our stay. We walked to the Cathedral in less than 10 minutes. The flat had everything we needed and was extremely quite at night. Great host would recommend to anyone

  • Great place, larger than expected, wonderful location in walking distance from central Winchester and lots of special touches. Plenty of communication regarding parking and getting in. Highly recommend.

  • Gillian’s place is a lovely apartment. Great location, nice space and greats comms. Thanks!

    Andrew2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely space! Gillian is a gracious host providing everything you need for a stay including yummy homemade cookies. The kitchen was beautifully equipped, the bed was very comfortable, the showers hot, WiFi was fast and there were lots of television options. The entire apartment was squeaky clean and absolutely beautifully decorated. Gillian provided all the “little “ things that make you want to book an AirBnB instead of a hotel. There was information on restaurants, taxi services, and all the appliance information that is so handy if you’re not sure how to work something. There were books on the windowsill, nice fluffy pillows, lap blankets in the living room-many extra touches that make it feel like a home. There is free private parking in the back, which is tricky to find the first time in spite of detailed instructions. (The entrance sits far back from the road, and the road’s sign faces the wrong way.) But you don’t need a car at all to eat out or see the sights of Westminster-everything was a very easy 5-10 minute walk away. Great location! Thank you for the lovely stay. You are a fantastic host!

  • Great place in a very convenient location

    Pierce2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, quiet, comfortable, a parking space in the centre of town, perfect for a visit to a Winchester.

    Ian2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is ideally situated for a holiday / business trip in Winchester. It is close to the cathedral and all the other tourist "must sees". Although it is centrally located, it is beautifully quiet, particularly at the rear of the property, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed. The secure off-road car parking is a real boon. The apartment is tastefully decorated and has all the amenities you could wish for. Winchester is a beautiful city and makes an ideal base for exploring Wessex. There are several interesting National Trust properties in the surrounding countryside - we recommend Mottisfont which can be reached in 30 minutes by car. We were also impressed by the standard of the local restaurants. We can heartily recommend the River Cottage Canteen and Rick Stein's, which are both only a 5-10 minutes walk away.

  • A really lovely, clean, quiet and very comfortable place to stay right in the heart of beautiful Winchester and very kind and friendly hosts.

  • Comfortable and sparklingly clean room in a spacious house superbly located in the centre of town, Sophie and Ramin are welcoming hosts who go out of their way to make your stay go smoothly. We would definitely stay with them again

  • Sophie’s place is clean, welcoming and in a fantastic location. Sophie and Ramin were great hosts and we would definitely return!

    Abigail2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • It’s my second time staying at Sophie & Ramin’s Air B’n’B and it was so calming to know that whilst I was working in Winchester I had this haven to go back to. The wind & rain was howling outside and yet you’d never know it the room (with en-suite) is so cosy. Location of the room within the house is towards the back so you feel pleasantly tucked away. The room is spacious, spotlessly clean (of course), stylishly understated and very comfy. Sophie & Ramin are accommodating lovely hosts. The location in Winchester is second to none, just one street away you can find the theatre royal & an abundance of gorgeous eateries, bars etc. Highly highly recommend!

    Mark2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie & Ramin’s place is well situated for the railway station, and the high street, and the room is comfortable and quiet. It had a nice hanging area for clothes, and room for my case. I loved the little touches like the coffee & tea facilities in the room, and the small flask of fresh milk. Having an on-suite shower room was great, and the latch on the door was very reassuring. The closeness to the high street means breakfast & dinner isn’t a problem - the pie shop down the road was great, and there are many other places close by. Both Sophie and Ramin were helpful and welcoming, and struck the right balance of welcoming and respectful of personal space.

The location is stunning and welcomed by the numerous ducks, two friendly peacocks and a cat who loved a fuss! The hot tub was allocated to us for a time slot and was amazing. The breakfast in the room was stacked with a variety of selection. Over all 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

The barn was very clean and had everything we needed, when we woke up and opened the curtains the cows were outside and it was such a lovely touch to be right next to them, We went for a meal and drinks and the railway inn which is around a 5 min drive from the barn this was a really nice place to go. Would definitely recommend for a nice peaceful night away! If we are ever back in the area we would definitely stay again.

Cycle rides on old railway track and bere forest is 1 mile away as well.
  • Spent the weekend here, celebrating my boyfriends birthday. We had a truly great time and we really appreciated all the thoughtful touches for his birthday! The hut and surroundings were beautiful, especially the jacuzzi!! I still can’t get over the peacock.. actually considering buying one! It was beautiful and so nice to be around nature and wildlife. Perfect place for a special experience!

  • This is such a lovely place to go for a night away. Lots of extra touches to make it even more special. I highly recommend it!

    Lindsay2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Tin Hut is possibly the most relaxing stay you will ever have. Anna is a wonderful host, who communicates really well and thinks of literally everything! Anything you could possibly need for a short break is tucked away in the hut's little hiding places; from super fluffy dressing gowns to emergency bathroom supplies, and even a sewing kit! She has included some folders of information on local pubs, restaurants, and things to see and do- which we enjoyed browsing and would be really useful for a longer visit (we sadly only had time for an overnight stay). The super cosy fleece bedding was the icing on the cake for us- it being the middle of winter I had worried we would freeze during the night, but we were lovely and warm- even choosing to turn the heating off completely. Warning: this is the best night's sleep you will ever have, but you won't want to go back to your own bed afterwards! We cooked our dinner on the huge fire pit then enjoyed using the very private and relaxing hot tub in the evening. I would recommend booking a time slot to use it, as the other airbnbs on this property can be booked up last minute and the hot tub is shared between them. Anna had very kindly stocked the fridge in the hut with everything we might possibly want for breakfast, and there is a microwave/oven/grill combi and two portable hobs so you can cook anything you like. We could even feed the peacocks, doves and ducks while we ate as she had given us a little pocket of nuts each labelled 'Bird Food'! You can purchase some alcohol during your stay too- beer for £1 a bottle and £10 for a bottle of wine. The reviews suggesting that you pack light are absolutely right- while this hut feels surprisingly roomy and not claustrophobic at all, there isn't much space for large suitcases! Most toiletries are already in the bathroom including shampoo, hand wash, toothpaste etc and you don't need to pack towels or flip flops for the hot tub. We particularly appreciated the hot towel rail, spacious shower and beautiful stained glass in the bathroom. We didn't want to leave and are desperate to come back and stay again- this airbnb is a hidden gem and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wishing for a relaxing, quiet weekend in the countryside.

  • Brilliant little place highly recommend

    Sean2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Warm and welcoming with luxury touches. The hot tub is huge and feels private, we cooked ourselves a charming breakfast with quality ingredients, and kept toasty warm with the little wood stove. Do travel light as Anna suggests, so you can enjoy the little space, which has everything you might need. Eric and Anna both super friendly and accommodating.

  • What an amazing place! We stayed here for New Years Eve and had a lovely cosy, comfortable and chilled stay. The Tin Hut is so cosy its unbelievable, the host had thought of everything with some wonderful little touches throughout. Great amenities, including the lovely hot tub. We will be back in the warmer months to enjoy the garden and surrounding areas more. You must stay here, theres nothing better than going to sleep in this cosy little hut and waking up to the peacocks and ducks right outside your window. Truly wonderful.

    Samantha2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay, loved my morning tea outside with ducks running round. Lovely and welcoming hosts who pay attention to every little detail. Defiantly Recommend and we will be back too. Thanks for having us!

  • Wow! What a find! Everything was perfect - a beautiful location, cosy shepherds hut, cool wood burner and lovely hosts. Nothing was too much trouble - Anna even made a dinner reservation for us at a local pub after providing a couple of recommendations. There was a fridge full of quality food as well as fresh bread and pastries so we enjoyed a cracking breakfast! The hot tub was great too. Only 25 mins from Portsmouth. We are recommending this wonderful place to friends and family! Thanks Anna and Eric!

  • Perfect, lovely couple really felt at home. Sparkling clean and comfy bed I slept like a baby . I highly recommend this place already booked my next trip. Thank you!

  • A beautiful home and very warm and hospitable hosts. I had the ensuite room which faces west with a view over the fields. The other slightly larger room faces east over the garden and has a bathroom, with bath, next to it. Emma and Al left out a huge array of tasty breakfast food, and made me tea whenever I wanted it. There are fabulous hill/Downs walks a short drive away. At the moment the scaffolding is the best way to spot the house. Loved the whole experience.

    Joanne2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The most gorgeous home, impeccably clean with welcoming hosts who couldn’t do enough and made great recommendations for things in the area. I most certainly will be returning!

Guests are more than welcome to use the lounge area as well as the kitchen. In the summer we’re more than happy for them to make themselves at home in the garden as well. We really like people to feel welcome, comfortable and at ease. If there is anything that they would like to do or ask, we would welcome requests or enquires and would accommodate it to the best of our ability. We also have a beautiful dog.
Laundry Cottage was built in the early 1600’s and the newer part of the house attached to the cottage used to be outside Laundries that did the surrounding Manor House and cottages, laundry. This part was attached to the cottage in the 1800’s. Winchester is the first Capital of England and a wonderfully historic city boasting a beautiful Cathedral and historical ruins and buildings. We have the most fabulous coffee shops and restaurants in Winchester. There are wonderful scenic walks in and around Winchester as well. There is also a charming small cinema in town. We are a five minute walk from a wonderful Farm Stall that serves great food and coffees, called the Good Life as well a great pub five minutes walk from us called the Cart and Horses. Our guests get a 10% discount when they eat there.
  • I honestly don't know where to start. "A home away from home" would be an understatement. Even before I arrived at the beautiful house (which alone is worth a stay), the communication with Marlene was fantastic and I felt welcome before I even got there. Marlene, Kevin and their entire family are most wonderful and kind and just incredible hosts that will make you feel part of the family but also give you your space if you so desire. The house is utterly gorgeous, cozy and there is so much attention to detail and lots of nice touches. I will visit Winchester again for sure, but mainly for this very deserved Superhost! Some info on getting to Winchester town center: you can walk (about 30 minutes), drive (5-8 minutes) or take the bus (11 minutes). The bus stop is right in front of the house!

    Annika2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

On top of this, great communication, a lovely clean and characterful house, well located. Hope to stay again in the future, thanks again.

A beautifully converted, luxury holiday cottage for two, tucked away in the small hamlet of Woodcote, between Winchester and Bishop's Waltham, in the South Downs National Park.
Exceptional one bedroom, self catering accommodation in a stunning rural setting (in the South Downs National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty). Perfect for a romantic break, away from the daily hustle and bustle but still close to towns like Winchester, Portsmouth and Southampton. Medieval market town Bishop's Waltham is nearby with a butcher, greengrocer, bakery, the best coffee in Hampshire, a traditional sweet shop, 2 supermarkets as well as countless independent shops, pubs and restaurants.
  • Very cute and cosy cottage! Home from home!! Complimentary goodies were a nice touch. Such a comfy bed, best ever! Great location to explore the south coast and lovely local walks! Very quiet area in the middle of nowhere 🙂

  • Super modern space with plenty of walks from the doorstep. Marian was extremely speedy with communication and offered lots of suggestions for local spas when asked. She also left some lovely cookies and gin which were much appreciated! The log burner was fantastic as we shut ourselves away to hide from Storm Ciara. Bathroom very modern and great shower. Large, comfy bed with plenty of storage space. Microwave oven super handy for any cooking, plus induction hob. Oil/salt/pepper provided, plus some orange juice and milk. Note bathroom is not ensuite but through the kitchen/living room. Had a very relaxing stay here.

    Sam2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely place. There is a wonderful pub in the village that we were able to walk to. Winchester is really close as well - and returning to the Woodcote Barn was really something we'd look forward to at the end of each day. Everything about it is so thoughtful, it seemed like there was always another detail we hadn't noticed. Highly recommended!

  • We are so pleased we chose the Stables for our first experience using Airbnb, Marian and Justin were incredibly helpful and the property was charming, cosy and clean with everything we needed. The location is beautiful and peaceful and it was the perfect place from which to explore Winchester and enjoy walks in the local countryside. We would love to stay again.

    Anna2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Stables is a lovely property in a great location. We stayed in January and it was so cosy and a great place to come back to after a day out. As mentioned by others it is very clean, well equipped and Marian has worked hard to think of everything with some thoughtful touches.

    Julia2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a lovely long weekend at The Stables. The space is thoughtfully arranged and super cosy, it has everything needed for a quiet getaway. The kitchen is stocked with the basics and pots pans etc so everything you need for nights in, and if you don't feel like cooking, the village pub nearby is great! There are books and DVD's on the shelves to entertain while sitting by the log burner. Loads of beautiful walks in the area and there is a detailed guidebook in the stables with tips and walks you can go on. The cookies and gin were a lovely welcome touch (though we were doing dry Jan, but I'm sure the gin was delicious!) . Marian and Justin are great hosts and were very communicative through the whole process, helping me with taxi numbers and weather tips. Thanks again for having us!

    Hannah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayd a week at Marians beautiful place and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. It was clean, cosy and the bed sheets where wonderful soft. A beautiful bathroom, nice kitchen and livingroom. Very thoughtful details when we arrived made us feel welcome. Also Marian and her husband are very friendly. We would absolutely recomend it to everybody who looks for a quiet place on the countryside with short distance to several excursions.

She was really kind - even offering to clean up our dog's sick! There is no parking outside the house but we had no problems getting a spot on the road. We would certainly use her again.

Our house is a pretty Victorian terrace, situated in Hyde. It is well located for visiting the town centre and many of the beautiful landmarks of Winchester. The city centre is within easy walking distance, 10 - 15 minutes, with the train station a 5 minute walk. A great stop for cyclists and walkers, there is no garage but bike's may be left inside the house overnight. There are several pubs within a stone's throw and a large number of restaurants and coffee bars all within walking distance.
Bedroom 2 is a comfortable single room beautifully decorated, overlooking the pretty courtyard garden and St.Bartholomew's church. Bedroom 2 is only available on the same booking as bedroom 1 (i.e for one family or group).
The area of Hyde is historically rich and has become a place name synonymous with King Alfred the Great, whose bones were moved to Hyde Abbey in 1110. Winnall Moors Nature Reserve is very close by and on walking through it seems difficult to believe you are right next to the centre of town!

  • I had a lovely stay with my hosts, Henny and her mother, and couldn't have been made more welcome. The accommodation was clean and warm, and provided everything I needed, and the bed was very comfortable, so I slept very well too. It is about 5 minutes walk to the centre of Winchester, and not much further to the station so very well located. I look forward to staying there again when I'm in Winchester. I would thoroughly recommend it to others.

A comfy, French-feel with the door leading to a pretty cottage garden for you to relax and make yourself at home.

  • The room is set in a beautiful village and is perfectly placed to get out and about to enjoy the wonderful countryside. The room is immaculate and clean, the bed comfortable and the little extras such as fresh milk, bread croissants etc make it superb. The bathroom gives a choice of bath or shower, and the whole room is well furnished with everything you need. Bernadette is an amazing host. • Great place for walks and if you have a dog. Lovely space and the little touches are excellent....the hosts left us bread jams and croissants for breakfast, rock salt and ketchup and those sorts of things...only downside was the WiFi...lots of problems and we couldn’t stream a film which was a little disappointing after choosing one over dinner...

Light, spacious bedroom, tastefully decorated. Cupboard with hanging space and shelves. Bedside cupboard for storage. An antique comfy chair. Comfortable double bed. Opposite the bathroom, but private as it’s set towards the back of the house.
  • Serene and peaceful place Perfect for a good night sleep. Very friendly and thoughtful hosts. Will be back for sure.

  • A really cost, quirky place to stay. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Communication really thorough and the room was lovely.

  • Marlene and Kevin's place is what every airBnB experience should aspire to be. They were the perfect hosts- genuine, warm hearted people with a great enthusiasm and knowledge of the area. Rarely have I felt so warmly welcomed. Marlene was very quick to communicate during and in the leadup to our stay, arranging to meet up in town and being flexible about checkin/out. Their home is a gorgeous period cottage filled with nice touches like fresh flowers and a chocolate on the pillow - thank you Marlene! If you are lucky enough to try Kevins amazing breakfast with tomoto gravey you won't be disappointed. Kamber the dog added an adorable friendly (and hairy!) element to our stay, helping us to feel right at home. Thank you all for making us feel like part of the family. We hope to come back one day! Much love, Cat and Matt xxx

  • You will enjoy staying in a charming, historic cottage, very comfortable bedroom and bedding, quirky decor with lots of interesting pictures and artefacts, and all very clean. In spite of being near major roads it is quiet, peaceful and well equipped with a very good internet connection. Kevin and Marlene have lived there many years and are very helpful and knowledgable about the area.

    Frances2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Marlene are warm and friendly hosts that offer flexibility to guests. Nothing is too much trouble. The cottage itself has a lot of charm and the bedroom and bathroom are very spacious. It is one of the best Air bnb places to stay around Winchester in terms of accommodation and value for money.

He couldn’t have been more helpful in his responses and recommendations. The place is easy to get to and was brilliantly decorated, clean and comfortable. Everything we could have wanted xx

  • Lovely room, excellent location. Tom was really helpful and went the extra mile.

    Nicola2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I could not have been happier with my stay here. Tom was the most accommodating Airbnb host I have ever had. I got sick right before arriving and didn’t want to share a bed with my friend I was tracking with for fear of giving it to her. So Tom made up a beautiful second bed for us that was just as cute at the official real bed already there. This was so helpful. Really saved our trip. The room was stunning, location is perfect, and check in was smooth. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Tom was a wonderful host - flexible with the check-in and made it extremely easy to get in ourselves and let us know the best spots to get dinner. Everything about this place made our trip perfect - hope we make it back & can stay here again! :)

The annexe is a newly refurbished cosy oasis hidden in the heart of central Winchester. It’s a completely private en-suite bedroom in a quiet leafy cul-de-sac. The theatre and many of Winchester’s best restaurants are right on your doorstep. The train station and High Street are a 5 minute walk away. 5 minutes in the other direction and you can be in Winnall Moors nature reserve.
The annexe is compact yet perfectly equipped to provide the comfort and amenities you need to enjoy your short break. A comfortable double bed with crisp clean linen and towels are provided. The space alongside the bed is clean and open with a fold out table and chairs, perfect for dining or use as a desk. The annexe benefits from an en-suite shower room with heated towel rail. Alongside the en-suite is a built in cupboard with hanging, storage space and a small fridge. On arrival you will find milk, tea & coffee and some complimentary breakfast items.
The annexe is right in the centre of Winchester, but it doesn't feel or sound like a city centre location. Marston Gate is a quiet leafy cul-de-sac situated right alongside the earth bank of the ancient city wall which provides privacy and seclusion despite being just over the road from the Theater and some of the cities best bars and restaurants. The train station and High Street are a 5 minute walk away. 5 minutes walk in the other direction past the River Park leisure centre and you can be in Winnall Moors nature reserve a beautiful spot for a walk along the river bank and over boardwalks laid in amongst the reeds.
  • The Annexe is in a fantastic location for Winchester city centre. Clean and tidy. The hosts are thoughtful and provide a sheet of recommended local restaurants which is really nice to see. Perfect for a couple's break. We would definitely come back.

  • Clean, comfortable, quiet, cosy warm in winter. The space is small (as described), a well-sized bedroom with a small bathroom. Marie has added a few clever details: a small fridge and tea-making facilities with light snacks suitable for an easy breakfast. This is perfect for a short stay in Winchester - a restful space close to public transport. Would definitely stay again!

    Meghan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Annexe is a brilliant spot located a stones throw from Winchester train station. The room is very Bright and has everything you could need it’s amazing what Maire has managed to do with the space. The room was so cosy and warm when we arrived after a long day travelling due to delayed flights and over crowded trains. Lovely touches such as gin and tonic in the fridge and an addition heater on in the room on a cold March day to greet us. Maire was my pleasant, professional and efficient to deal with as a host threw the air b&b service. I would highly recommend Maire as a host and her air b&b

  • My parents enjoyed their stay at Anna’s place, it was a comfortable, modern and very clean space. An easy stay and a perfectly quiet spot not far from Winchester.

  • Anna's place was clean, comfy and convenient for getting to Winchester and Southampton. We would definitely stay again.

My house is very close to the city centre, a short enjoyable walk away from St. Catherines hill and the famous Black Boy pub or the Michelin starred Black Rat Restaurant. Only a 5 min riverside walk in to town and located near one of the South Downs Way starting points so perfect for any long distance walkers heading out or completing their journey.
The room itself is a large double (recently refurbished) with an ensuite bathroom and comes with all the usual such as WIFI, TV and Kettle etc, recently I have added a fridge/cooler to the room so there will be space for you to store items that need chilling. In addition to this you will have access to the lounge area if you choose. There will be a permit for on street parking.
It is a very friendly area, an example being that every year the road that my house is on is closed for a street party.
  • Second time staying at this place and great as before.

    Iain2020-03-12T00:00:00Z

  • A wonderful stay with Ian and his dog, Scruff. The private bedroom, spacious bathroom, and street parking (with a permit provided by Ian) made my stay for work seamless and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this listing for anyone looking to stay in Winchester for work or leisure.

  • Fab place to stay! Private bedroom and spacious bathroom. Clean, warm, lots of lovely touches like complimentary milk, water, sweets and chocolates! Beautifully decorated too with interesting funky vintage items. Lots of on street parking nearby and Ian provides a parking permit saving £12 a day parking charges. An easy 5 min walk into the centre where there are numerous eateries, shops, historical building, museums and walks. We hope to return!

Atmospheric apartment in a converted stable 3 miles from Winchester. The ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen/sitting room with comfy L-shaped sofa. Upstairs, the former hayloft (please note limited head height due to sloping ceiling) is a cosy bedroom with smart en suite. Guests are welcome to enjoy the owner’s large garden, outdoor pool (summer only) and tennis court. A starter breakfast pack of milk, eggs, bacon, tea and coffee is provided. WiFi, TV, washing machine, Nespresso.
Former stable in the grounds of a country house near Winchester. Guests are welcome to wander the garden, play tennis and have a swim in the outdoor pool (end May to early September). Please note: upstairs is quirkily in keeping with its former life as a hayloft and has limited head height where the ceiling slopes on each side.
We live in a small South Downs hamlet, opposite a church (services most Sundays at 9.30am). There are lovely walks nearby, pubs in next door villages, and we are less than a 10-minute drive from historic Winchester.
  • Amazing place great host

    Imran2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for an overnight - cosy, nicely furnished and well equipped. We appreciated the little touches - bacon and eggs provided for breakfast, and a lovely arrangement of spring flowers in a vase. Would recommend.

  • We stayed at The Stable for a winter weekend. The place was immaculately clean and so cosy and warm!! Everything in the place was great quality - Denby plates, crisp white bedding, feather duvet and pillows, comfy bed, just delightful!! Amanda had also left a bottle of wine in the fridge, M&S finest bacon, eggs, milk, bread, butter!!! Such a thoughtful touch! There was also a very well stocked tea and coffee tray! Amanda has the right balance of 'being there' and 'not being there' - non intrusive but also helpful if we needed it - she even offered to give us a lift into Winchester but we decided to stay 'home' and enjoy the Stable. We really couldn't have asked for a better stay - would definitely like to stay again.

    Kim2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent host. Helped us find the location (follow the image on the map). Really appreciated the welcoming touches. We were in town for an interview and she really helped make the process as stress free as possible. Would definitely stay here if we visit Winchester again

  • Sandra's home is exactly what I needed and more. Ideal location, very clean and tidy, had everything I needed and even what I didn't! The off road parking and flexible check in/out times were major plus points for me also. In addition to this, Sandra is a lovely lady and a really good and thoughtful host who made my stay the best in any way she could, even offering to cook me breakfast in the evening before I went to work a night shift!
