  • Tess’s place was beautiful and full of light. It was an easy Tube ride to many destinations in London. Tess was very responsive to questions and made our stay comfortable.

  • Nice apartment with a lovely garden, well equipped, 25 minutes from downtown. Two double beds. Trains pass behind the fence but noise do not disturb when sleeping. I recommend.

    Arturo2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is clean, comfortable and relaxing.Tess is really supportive and kind.I strongly recommend this flat. Tess kindly taught me how to use a washing machine, which is difficult for foreigners to understand. The room is bright in any weather. The view of the garden is the best and it is quiet without the sound of the car. There was also a cute squirrel. I sometimes see the train, but I don't mind the sound. The train kid was happy.

  • It was a wonderful place to stay as our first rental of three during our London/Paris trip with my 3 kids and my mom. Tess set the bar high with great amenities, clean place and quick responses. It felt really homey and although it rained one of the days, we enjoyed the backyard view and the sunny sunroom where we had breakfast and snacks after our daily tourist excursions into the city. The neighborhood was quiet with a fruit/vegetable stand at the end of the street where we dropped by to get fresh fruits each day. There's other markets and eateries nearby. Location was great because we wanted a place a little bit away from touristy places to rest. Loved that we were able to do some laundry too.

    Doran2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great accommodation as expected. Tess always responded quickly, the kitchen and living room were enough to enjoy, and the best was the room with the yard. The three children in my house loved this space and enjoyed it every day. When you go down into the space below the ring, you may feel a bit disappointed at first due to the existing entrance, but you will soon be amazed by the wonderful space you enter and meet. Although not in the heart of London, Kil Translation and Queens Park Station are accessible. We often used Tesco near Kil Translation.

  • This is a beautifully presented ground floor flat close to 3 underground stations. It is light and airy and has its own garden. My family stayed here for 3 nights and even though there was a major water leak from the flat above (completely unrelated to this lovely flat), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tess has provided extra, thoughtful touches like local restaurant tips, soaps and shampoos, coffee pods, and a genuinely fully kitted out kitchen. Tess was very contactable throughout our stay and even came back early from her holiday to clean up for us after the water leak. Very highly recommended place to stay!

    Catherine2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay experience is our ideal holiday home. Traveling during the day and returning to the lush green yard in the evening to enjoy the coolness is the most relaxing time of the day. The kitchen and bathroom are very easy to use, and the two bedrooms are also very comfortable to sleep. Thanks again for the enthusiasm and sincerity of the landlord

    2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tess was a great host who was very accommodating and quick to respond to all of our queries. The apartment was conveniently located for our visit and the garden was a nice amenity to have in the city. Certainly would recommend to others.

If you want to experience London at it's best then come to Camden. This area of London is central, safe, and packed full of cafes, bars, famous nightclubs, music venues and the world famous Camden Market along with beautiful parks and Primrose Hill.
I live in the heart of Camden Town, in a late Georgian terrace of houses within a Conservation area, right in the centre of London. My flat is richly decorated which reflects the work that I do as a Textile Artist. My walls are covered with my choice of vintage finds, antiques and objets d'art. **Here is what Leanne from the US had to say when she stayed recently : ‘We absolutely loved everything about our stay. Your beautiful home was simply magical, we loved being surrounded with treasures from around the world. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience to make our first trip to London memorable’. My Flat on 1st and 2nd Floor 16 sq mtrs: SITTING ROOM/BEDROOM: You will be staying in my sitting room on a comfy sofa bed. You will get complete privacy during your stay in my sitting room. I might be around during your stay but In all probability you will have my Flat to yourself. This large sunny room has two big windows with wooden shutters and a big fire place. There will be fresh bedlinen, a choice of pillows, towels, big duvets and hot water bottles. There is a hanger rail for your clothes. **I provide earplugs for you as I am on a main road. **1 extra small child can stay on an AIR MATTRESS or ONE EXTRA adult. This will be like CAMPING but is appreciated by small families on a tight budget... or for a family for the weekend. You have free Wi Fi, TV, DVD and information about what is going on in London, with maps and guidebooks. KITCHEN: You can use my kitchen whilst staying with me. There is unlimited tea and coffee, a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, a fridge, iron and ironing board. I do not have an electric dryer - I hang clothes on a dryer in the hallway. **I don't supply breakfast but Arancini's ( 1 minute walk) has great food and Mario's is around the corner (with his own mini Art gallery). ** For 3 people to eat at the kitchen table is slightly tight... see the pictures. BATHROOM: You will be sharing the bathroom with me. I supply big towels, hairdryers and a few shampoos etc. GUEST WELCOME: I always try to welcome guests personally but if I am not around I make other arrangements for you as well as key access. I provide a welcome pack for you and answer all your questions. Then I leave you be. SIGHTS TO SEE: *8 min bus to Kings Place, a fantastic new music and culture venue at the back of Kings Cross. *20 min bus to the British Museum and 9 other Museums all within walking distance, in the heart of Bloomsbury *25 min bus to the Tate Modern and the South Bank area that includes the Royal Festival Hall and the National Theatre. *6 min bus to the British Library *10 min bus to Bloomsbury, for literary fans, see a monument to Gandhi, the University and the Welcome Trust building. *20 mins bus to the heart of Covent Garden for boutique shopping, the Opera House, and street performances. *20mins bus to Soho and China Town and Trafalgar Square. *20 min bus to Oxford and Regents St shopping, including Selfridges and the Apple store. *15min train to Brick Lane Market. * 25 min train to Kew Gardens. * 10min bus ride to Madam Tussaud's and the Planetarium. THINGS TO DO: Cycling: Santander Bikes are great and can be hired for as little as a £1 a day. Swimming: 3 mins walk away is a newly restored Victorian Baths which is a delight. Walks: around London are held on every subject you can think of including street art and early morning photography walks. Picnics: go up to Hampstead Heath 480 acres in the middle of London and listen to concerts or go on walks. Sight Seeing bus rides at night are well worth doing. Dinner: at one of many London underground restaurants. All of London's famous Markets. Football: Emirates Stadium is a 20 mins walk away. or Movie Fans; At the back of St Pancras Station ( Batman Begins 2005) is Somerstown, featured in the film of the same name. Chaplin 1992 and countless films were filmed by the canal there, which has now been opened up for visitors and has a new street food market and a brilliant music venue called Kings Place. The Spice Girls filmed in the now magnificent St Pancras Hotel -- well worth a visit. All 8 Harry Potter films were filmed at Kings Cross Station so fans will want to visit platform 9 and 3/4 - ask anyone where it is. Alfie, Breaking and Entering, Nanny Mcfee 2 were filming in that area as well as Regents Park, Primrose Hill, Regents Canal. Camden has been filmed in numerous times. And Robert Downey Jn had his photo taken right outside my front door for Sherlock Holmes. And I missed it... When you write to me please use the word 'Vintage' so that I know you have read the whole listing.
ROUND THE CORNER: I live on a main road just down from a small high street with basic shops and cafes in it. If you want West End stores then my local bus takes you right to Oxford St in 20 minutes. There are buses near me for all the major sights of London as well as the tube, Camden Town. By my home there are 3 supermarkets, organic butchers, an Earth Store, 2 book shops, one of the first cycle shops in London, a pharmacy, ATM and Post Office, 3 train stations, and a great vegetable stall, ** There are 3 good local restaurants and more. IN WALKING DISTANCE: Camden is a vibrant area with many different cultures and creeds. This is reflected in the street life. We have a farmers market, boutiques, cafes, coffee houses, the Jazz Cafe, a Cinema, the Jewish Museum, welcoming pubs and small restaurants, thriving night clubs and a ground - breaking music scene, as well as charming neighbourhoods and easy access to London's Museums. I have lived in this area for over 27 years and still love it. *7 mins - Welcome to Camden Market packed with 100s of stalls, that receives over a 100 thousand people each weekend. This colourful street market is world famous and provides a glimpse of all of London's many tribes and fashions. *8 mins walk along Regents Canal to London Zoo and Primrose Hill with one of the best views of london. It has also featured in many films. *12 mins walk to Regents Park which has an open air theatre, cafes, walks and events. *23 mins you can walk to the British Library (next door to St Pancras Station) with the exquisite Treasures Room, 14 million books, cafes, exhibitions, and a huge statue of Newton thinking about gravity.
  • I am at a loss of words! Tessa’s home is an artist’s sanctuary- so inspiring, so much to see, it was hard to leave and explore all that London has to offer. That being said, when we did leave, everything was so close! Camden is honestly one of the best neighborhoods in London, and the location of this Airbnb is perfect. Tessa provides a thorough list of the best eats, shoppes, and visits of the city giving an authentic and well rounded experience of London. I just wish I had more time to spend both in the Airbnb and the city itself, but I suppose that just means I will have to come back soon and stay at this very spot!👌🏼❤️

  • What you can expect from staying with Tessa is a beautiful, comfortable home with a easy walk from the Camden Road Tube station and a variety of fun things to do while you are there! The flat is decorated top to bottom with interesting art and books and faces a garden back lot with Georgian buildings. A nice sized kitchen to have tea in and you might see a few Magpies out the window in the morning!

    Dan2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location as apartment a 7 minute walk from Camden station so superbly placed to see all of London. A wonderfully quirky alice in wonderland style apartment with surprises in all the nooks and crannies - seashells, a dolls house, fabulous hats.. Also enjoyed browsing the eclectic book collection ranging from Dostoevsky to Alexander McQueen. Bed was comfortable and apartment was cosy despite me visiting in February cold. Kitchen very well equipped with all the cooking utensils you could need. Check in and communication with host extremely easy and efficient. Great value stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

  • Vicky's communication is superb, so you're not left wondering for days if your requests can be met. The accommodation is both well appointed and convenient to Zone 1 London, with the tube being a short walk away. Breakfast was a lovely added bonus for us, as was the easy and secure check in process. I would thoroughly recommend Vicky's place as a perfect location from which to explore London.

  • Staying at Vicky's house was wonderfu! Her precious advices gave us the chance to visit London in a new way! The house is super clean, beedroom is very sunny and breakfast is delicious. Vicky is very friendly, as a member of your family! The neighborhood is relaxed and green, Margravine Cemetery is something special, full of flowers and animals. Another valuable point about our stay was the self check-in, that gave us the chance to organize our trip to the best. We do hope to come back and visit Vicky very soon!

  • Night paddle boarding was so much fun! It was a really unique experience being able to see the city’s lights and the triana bridge from the water. Guillermo was our host for this experience. He was very friendly and made us laugh a lot. It was like being with a friend :) he was also an excellent instructor and made first time paddle boarders feel comfortable. I definitely recommend this experience.

  • My grandmother is very kind and takes care of her. Very neatly decorated room. Make sure you have plenty of fruit, bread, cereal and yogurt every morning. The location is a bit far from the city but I can fully enjoy the unique English atmosphere. Chubby squirrels come every morning. I think I will remember this place a lot when I go back to Korea. It's like a dream.

JESSIE the narrowboat is moored in the heart of Little Venice on the north bank of the Pool of Little Venice and just opposite Brownings Island. It’s a stones throw from Paddington Station. Convenient, pretty and very relaxing.
Stay on this lovely individual, comfortable boat in the heart of London and experience the capital from a different point of view. Jessie is a 57 foot canal boat (or narrowboat) completed in 2011. She is 6 foot 10 inches wide. She can sleep 4 people in comfort, for 2 she is very comfortable. The boat has a warm inviting interior and space on deck to sit and watch the world go by. The appropriately named Little Venice (a name coined by the poet Robert Browning) is a very pretty corner of London, famous as home to hundreds of beautiful canal boats and convenient base from which to explore the capital. Two underground stations and good bus routes to all parts of the city are a short walk away. There is something very special about returning to the peace and quiet of the canal after a day in the city. There are lots of local pubs, restaurants, cafe and shops in the immediate neighbourhood. Free Wifi connection. The sleeping accommodation is made up of a double cabin at the front with doors to a small but comfortable front deck. There are two single bunk beds to the centre of the boat and a very comfortable sofa which flattens out to a double bed. If you think you want to use the sofa bed please let me know at the time of booking as it need preparation. The bathroom has a shower, a cassette toilet, and a wash basin with shaving point. The living area is to the centre of the boat with a solid fuel stove for chilly evenings, a wall mounted digital TV (DVD/CD player). There is a large comfy sofa/bed (storage underneath for bedding). A folding dinning table and additional chairs allows for 6 place setting. The galley has a gas hob and oven with grill, a good size fridge with freezer compartment, a sink and draining board, cupboards and drawers housing all the usual kitchen equipment. Water is held in a tank onboard and needs topping up every few days (depending on your usage). This will be done by your host. The boat has a shore supply of electricity which powers the AC system. A DC system powers the fridge and waters pumps. A charger needs to be switched on to recharge the batteries. In the winter months heating is by the solid fuel stove which burns a combination of smokeless coal and logs which are provided. The stove can be controlled and kept going 24 hours but you need to allow for this in your daily routine loading the stove before going out and a little attention on your return. It keeps the boat warm and cosy. An eco fan assists circulation. Living on board is not quite like a conventional house and needs an understanding and patience with the obvious limitations in space and supply of resources. It may therefore not be for everyone.
  • Lovely little narrow boat so close to London. Quaint alternative to hotel accommodation and was a real highlight of our trip.

  • Staying on Jessie was a delight, we enjoyed a cosy fire each day. Meg leaves makings for breakfast and there were even daffodils to greet us too. All amenities ship shape and easy to work around. I really enjoyed sitting on deck each morning eating my porridge and toast while watching the bird life and seeing the world go bye. Thanks Meg for your kindness and attention to detail, you are a super host. Thanks Bonnie and Barb from Australia

  • We really enjoyed staying in the boat, very comfortable. The neighbourhood has nice cafes and restaurants but is also quiet

    Luca2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Superb location ! very original set up, was a great experience. Meg welcomed us even though we arrived quite late, and was so kind to relaunch the fire every afternoon so it was warm and cozy when we came back.

  • Our family of four (kids are 5 and 10) really enjoyed our stay. Being on a boat is a bit less luxurious than your average hotel room but this is more than made up by the bucketloads of charm and the location of Jessie. All communications with a Meg went well and we would love to be back very soon!

    Marie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we’ve stayed on Jessie. We find it such a great place to stay. It’s handy for the tube and other public transport but so relaxing being on the canal. Meg is a great host. She responds n a timely manner to questions and spends time showing you the bits and pieces you need to know about staying on the boat. We came with 2 9 year olds who loved the novelty of being on the boat.

    Rachel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend. Really wonderful place to stay and truly a unique experience. Very convenient location and super quick communication. Cozy and warm even in winter. Right in the city but you wake to the sound of ducks quacking. Our family of 4 (two teens) were totally comfortable. Only wish we could have stayed longer!

Hi, I'm Arleta. Welcome to my cosy flat in the heart of Brentford in South West London, Zone 4. Beautifully located by the Grand Union Canal, within walking distance to sightseeing attractions like Boston Manor Park & Syon Park + business sights GlaxoSmithKline, SKY and other. Brentford is well connected with central London, by train, bus or tube, around 40-50mins. 35-45 mins by public transport to Heathrow and Twickenham The room has a king size bed and lots of storage in the room and hallway.
In my flat and in the area around, you'll be able to relax and unwind after hectic sightseeing rounds of Central London or any leisure or business activities. You'll find here local cafes, Pubs and restaurants. At my doorstep, literally, is an Italian restaurant with oven baked Pizza, All You Can Eat Bufet style Asian restaurant, cocktail bar, coffee shop, CostCutter grocery shop and a hairdresser. There are more options to eat and drink or grocery shopping on the High Street. 10-15mins bus ride and you're in Chiswick with shops and more fancy places to eat or Ealing Broadway with even more shops and a shopping centre.
Once in Brentford you need to visit Syon House. It is one of the last great houses of London, and has been in the family of the present owners for more than 400 years. Profoundly historic, the House holds a wealth of art within its grand classical interiors, while the Park and Gardens feel like deep countryside, although barely nine miles from Charing Cross. Syon House and Gardens are open from 11th March. There's also Kew, the Royal Botanic Gardens near by, only few stops by bus, also Musical Museum and Steam Museum.
  • Arleta’s home is clean, comfortable, really easy to get to and close to transport links. Arleta makes you feel incredibly welcome and it was a pleasure staying at her home. Would definitely recommend!

Small but newly refurbished studio flat with a double bedroom (one of two flats separate from the house), set in the pretty garden of a Georgian House on Ham Common. Close to Richmond Park, local amenities and bus routes. Unrestricted, on street, free parking.
Ham Common is a bit of a secret! In between Richmond and Kingston, there are local shops, proximity to the river and Richmond park. It's also on the bus route to Kingston and Richmond, both busy towns with good shopping and restaurants/cafes etc.
  • Another wonderful stay at Helen and David's. The place is warm and cosy, with everything you would need. The bed is incredibly comfortable too! I will be back again I'm sure!

  • I stayed for two nights here and I really enjoyed my stay - very comfortable, quiet and relaxing . I couldn’t fault it in anyway ! Helen, actually walked down the road to meet me and show me where the chalet was and on the table outside there was a candle lit. Inside the chalet there was also a candle lit and everything I could possibly need ... very clean and comfortable with supplies like milk, bread, cheese, eggs, bacon, biscuits, a bottle of water, teas and coffee etc. A great shower too - the chalet was lovely and warm with my own thermostat to control the heating. Plenty of games , books and magazines provided or could lie in bed and watch tv or sit in the little tub chair. There was even two fluffy hot water bottles and some fluffy travel slippers if needed :) It was all very quaint and it’s conveniently opposite Ham Common. They are Pet friendly too! Highly recommend.

Light and modern loft bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Private room at the top of the house with comfortable king size bed. Quiet residential street & good transport links (7 minute walk to Mortlake station, direct trains into Waterloo and Richmond, 30 minute drive from Heathrow). East Sheen hosts a good selection of restaurants, is close to Richmond Park and a short walk from the River Thames. Period Victorian cottage with staircase to match (not suitable for guests with restricted mobility).
This quiet, secluded room is at the top of the house (up 2 flights of stairs), and the only room on this floor. The bathroom is in the eaves & the shower height is slightly restricted. There is a separate bathroom on the first floor which we can make available for private use by guests, please just ask when you arrive. Tea & coffee making facilities are available in the room. Access to the downstairs and kitchen isn't included, there are many lovely coffee shops and cafes within a 5 minute walk of the house.
Close to the Royal Park of Richmond Upon Thames and less than 10 minutes walk from the River Thames, East Sheen is a haven of green and tranquility in the bustling city of London.
  • We stayed over for a weekend in London at Joanna's and Niall's place. We felt very welcomed and nothing was a problem. When it comes to local knowledge they gave great advice on places to eat and places to visit. Room was very cosy and clean with all the necessary stuff and also tea, coffee and water for us in the room. Great location just a 5 min walk from the Mortlake train station. All and all we were very satisfied and would definitely stay there again.

  • Hannah's place is quiet, cozy, and very clean. It's ideal lodging for scholars looking to do research at the nearby National Archives in Kew (1 train station away or a 20-30 minute walk). There's a lot around the area too. There are plenty of coffee shops and breakfast places nearby. The high street is a quick walk too and there you'll find many pubs, restaurants, shops, and a movie theater. Plus Hannah's place is quite close to the Richmond station. The station has several platforms so you can around to all parts of London from this place. I greatly enjoyed my stay and cannot speak highly enough about it.

  • The house is in a very quiet and cozy English neighborhood 20 minutes from the center, good communication with the train, 10 minutes walk, the house is shared but it is very quiet. I would recommend it 100%

  • The flat is beautyful in a very pleasant area. It is easy to find it and go to London city. There is a small shop near to the house, as well. We can just offer it. On the 3. Floor lives a couple. Dont close the door! They are kind too, and never at home. All in all, good service! Thanks a lot!! 🙂🙂

  • The place was set up very nicely and it wasn’t too far from central London. The place is shared so I was concerned at first, but it was nothing to worry about. This is a great place if you don’t want to be caught up with tourists and other people.

  • This is a stylish and comfortable apartment for one or two travelers. It is walking distance to just about everything you need. The lounge faces the main street, but this is not a problem for sleeping as there is a door to the living room that you can close. I stayed for about two weeks and it has all the amenities for a long stay. Also, the shower is pretty fantastic!

    Katy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Megan and John were great hosts! They always replied quickly to any inquiries and took the time to explain how some of the amenities worked, which was helpful as this was my first trip to Europe, so I was unfamiliar with a few things. I’m going to miss that place and I’d definitely stay there again!! :) :)

  • Megan is a fantastic host and we found the accommodation suited us perfectly for working at the National Archives (easy walking distance even for older types) and exploring London from Greenwich to Hampton Court. We especially loved walking along the Thames path and exploring local places. Everything is either within easy walking distance or public transport. There is a bus stop close by to get you wherever you might need to go. Overall, very neat, clean and modern accommodation, a great host and very conveniently located.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Jane, the garden room is situated at the back of a beautiful garden, it is self contained , very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Jane is a superb host and has clearly put a lot of thought into every detail for her guests.

    Stuart2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning garden cabin. The photos do not do it justice. Jane communicated brilliantly and ensured the fridge and pantry were stocked with essentials for us arriving which was very kind and not something we were expecting. The cabin has lots of great features not least the projector and screen and Bose sound system. The room was immaculately clean and very well appointed, Teddington is a lovely little place also and we had a great time eating and drinking on the high street. Jane and her husband were wonderful hosts.

    Paul2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • I chose the garden room because I thought it would be a great spot to study whilst in London and we were not disappointed. The view of the garden with the large windows is the perfect view for studying even on those rainy london winter's day, in fact especially on a rainy day. The space was private and the kitchen had everything you needed and the coop close by was extremely convenient. Jane and her family were absolutely fantastic hosts and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

    James2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is absolutely gorgeous. Our stay here made my graduation day even more special. We had a very relaxing stay. Although it was such a windy and rainy night, the place has a well sound insulation and we had a very quiet and serene evening. Jane added many thoughtful items in the garden house such as books, board games, umbrella, slippers, Nespresso coffee machine, projector with Netflix and many more. Thank you Jane

  • A cozy little nest in a magnificent house worthy of a decor magazine! Sandra and her husband are hosts of incredible kindness. The apartment is ideally located: 5 minutes from the metro, a mark & spencer, 15 minutes from Kew Gardens. Perfectly equipped, exemplary cleanliness, linen that smells clean, and as a bonus the breakfast offered (brioche, jams, orange juice, tea - coffee, fruit, muesli). Sandra is more than a host: she also informed us of the metro's closure and thanks to her we were able to anticipate to adapt our return. She is full of good advice (thank you for discovering the Marianne North gallery). Only point to know: Richmond is located in an air corridor so wherever you sleep, you will hear the planes except during the night (Sandra provides the earplugs). • My favorite part about Sandra’s place was the provided breakfast foods- it allowed my husband and I to linger in the morning and save on eating out. Another great thing about this place is Sandra herself! She rightly told us that the District line tube may be down the morning we needed to get to Heathrow and helped us find an alternate route. Must be able to get up two flights of stairs, but if you can I can heartily recommend Sandra’s place.

    Elsie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Stunning house and amenities. The room is superb. Sandra and Derek are fantastic hosts and made us feel very, very welcome. Probably the cleanest and most immaculate example of an Airbnb I’ve stayed in (on other accounts too). The numerous small but memorable touches and considerations made all the difference. Location is brilliant and made life very easy indeed.

A self contained studio set in the garden of an Edwardian home. A short walk to Richmond station and centre, as well as Kew Gardens. Newly renovated with raised ceiling and blackout blinds. Handmade furniture, luxury double bathroom and kingsize bed. Excellent public transport links to central London.
Part of a converted Edwardian property, the studio is set at the back of a family home with independent access via the family's mature olive and rose-lined garden. It is fully self-contained with its own luxurious bathroom including large standalone bath and a discrete close-away French kitchenette (fridge/freezer, electric hob, electric kettle and basic kitchen utensils including plates, pans, cutlery, glasses, cups etc). Please be aware that access is via the garden of the main apartment and the shared decking area. Please be aware also that there are sometimes small children living at the property and they have use of the garden area. It is essential that the two gates, one to the alleyway, and the garden gate are kept locked at all times. Traditional period styling with minimalist twist ensures that the apartment is both elegant and cosy with handcrafted furniture and a very comfortable queen size bed. The property is approximately 7 minutes' walk from Richmond overland train station (fast train to Waterloo) and district line tube and benefits from being close to world-renowned Kew Gardens, the Old Deer Park with its open air swimming pool and quaint Kew Village as well as the boutiques and restaurants of Richmond town centre. Major bus routes to central London and Kingston run 24 hours nearby.
Richmond, and particularly the location of this studio, offers both proximity to central London as well as total escape from city life. Kew Gardens can be seen from outside the main house, the historic Old Deer Park is a few minutes away, the site of the original Richmond Palace is a lovely walk along the river, Richmond Park is within reach as is the riverside trail towards Hampton Court in one direction and Central London in the other. There is a plethora of world cuisine quite literally on our doorstep as well as some hidden gems in Richmond itself and in nearby Kew. (Personal favourites include the atmospheric cafe at Petersham Nurseries, the Saturday organic market in Heron Square - and the craft market the next day - and Ham House with its cafe and shop in the gardens and the terraced gardens on Richmond Hill itself.) There is also some great shopping to be done on Richmond high street and hill. There are many cafes and meeting places as well as quiet spots to work or dream abound, whatever the time of year. Please note, the property is only 10 miles from Heathrow airport and approximately 1 hour by car to Gatwick airport. Airlines do fly over head at some times of day during high season though the runways are scheduled to alternate between this area and Chiswick. This is a garden setting in a highly built up urban area.

  • A lovely little hide-away in the heart of Kew / Richmond. Really comfortable room, nicely furnished and a truly palatial bathroom. As located in a garden, it is very quiet expect for the occasional art-craft noise which is hard to avoid in that area on London.

  • Beautiful and immaculate little getaway in Richmond. Very near bus stops and quick walk from loads of lovely little restaurants and conveniences, but doesn't feel too busy. Tess, the owner, was lovely to communicate with and very helpful.

  • We stayed for a few days and everything was perfect! We’ll surely recommend Tanja

  • This is in a beautiful location and has all that you need for a short stay in London. Very bright and comfortable.

    Laurie2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is small, but very cozy. It was very clean and also had everything necessary to stay a few days. The neighborhood is very nice and familiar, although a bit far from the train stop (20 minutes walk).

    Cristina2019-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely flat, great hosts.

    Maggie2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tanja's studio is perfect for a short stay in SW London. It's excellently located on the banks of the Thames just a short walk from Richmond Town Centre and even closer to local shops and restaurants as well as bus and train routes. Very clean, and with everything you need with a great private garden area although it may be a bit small for 2 people when the weather is cold and you can't get outside. Its worth noting that if you are a couple, one of you will have to sleep against the wall as the bed is in the corner of the bedroom. Excellent value though and we would be very happy to stay there again.

    Jonathan2018-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 nights at Tanja and loved every minute of it. It's true, it's not really at your fingertips, but the cleanliness, the welcome, the neighborhood and the comfort of this small apartment also make up for those ten minutes more by metro / bus. If I were to go back to London, I would definitely go back to tanja.

    Lucrezia2018-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place in the beautiful area of Richmond.

Shops, pubs and cafes are a short walk away. Laura is a wonderful host and makes her guests feel at home. I stayed in the spacious loft apartment which was lovely and bright and had a kitchen and washing machine. Would definitely book again.

This is a private double bedroom with king size bed. Shared shower and toilet. **Please note, the building exterior is currently being renovated and there is scaffolding surrounding the site. 1 private bedroom with a king bed. Totally yours without any disturbance. Lovely warm duvet for the winter. Lovely cool duvet in the summer. You will share the shower room and toilet with the host. You will have a set of keys so will be free to come and go as you please.
Stunning area close to Heathrow, GSK, Kew Gardens, Richmond park, and easy access to the Thames and to central London. Try out the amazing pubs here for an authentic experience!
  • Great place to stay for a couple of days or longer. The room was comfortable. Very close to public transportation. Zack is an amazing host. We really enjoyed our stay in London!

    Joarnell2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Regardless the minor problems at the beginning (which Zack took care of very fairly), we really enjoyed our stay. The room is big and the bed is very comfortable. The location is good since you’re just an 25-30min tube ride from central London. It’s a nice and peaceful neighborhood perfect for resting after strolling trough the city all day. We hope to come back one day. I definitely recommend staying at Zack’s! :)
