Our stylish cottage offers seclusion and tranquility among the trees. A salt-water vanishing edge pool and spa are shared by all guests on the property. We are in the midst of wineries and close to the American River for swimming, whitewater rafting and hiking. Up to two dogs are welcome with a $25 flat fee per stay. If not available for the dates you want, we have two other options: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/17944878 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/26519059/details
Our secluded 250 square foot cottage is perched on the edge of a forested ravine. French doors open on to a beautiful redwood deck where you can lounge the day away under the trees. The cottage was recently remodeled with simple modern finishes. Inside the cottage there is a comfortable queen-sized bed, a small table and two chairs, and a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster oven, small refrigerator, coffee maker, and one-burner countertop induction cooktop. A small propane grill (propane included) is located outside on the patio. Cookware and dishes are provided. The attached, private bathroom has a toilet, shower, vanity, and heated floors. You are welcome to use the semi-outdoor showers located a short walk away that are also used by the other guests on the property. A salt-water vanishing edge un- heated pool and hot tub are available for guest use. Guests are welcome in the pool area from 8am to sunset; the hot tub is heated only during the two hours before sunset. The Pool and sunset views are a short walk from the cottage (the pool is below the main house and not next to the cottage). Please note: the cottage does not have a television.
We are located in wine country and we can offer suggestions on our favorite wineries to visit. There are hiking trails within walking distance or a short drive. Chili Bar Park on the South Fork of the American River is a 15 minute drive and has a great beach and swimming area. There are multiple lakes within a short drive for paddle boarding, swimming, and canoeing or kayaking. Commercial river rafting trips take off from Lotus/Coloma which is about 20 minutes away. There are also lots of mountain bike trails and we can help connect you to a mountain bike tour company that will show you the hidden back roads and trails. The area is home to the famous Rubicon Trail for back road jeeps and other off-road vehicles. We are also located in the heart of Gold Country with lots of historical interest surrounding the Gold Rush - we are about 20 minutes from where gold was discovered in California.
  • AMAZING! This is the perfect weekend getaway! The pool and hot tub are beautiful and you are secluded in a little slice of heaven. I would highly recommend!

  • Absolutely gorgeous location. I can't rave enough about the pool/spa overlooking the forest and foothills. I was here for a quick business trip, or I'd have loved to take some of the hikes recommended. The coffee and tea was a nice touch -- great little kitchen would be great for a longer trip, too. And the bed was so comfy! Would recommend to just about anyone.

  • Great location and beautiful space with a large yard for my dogs. Thank you for the excellent communication throughout our stay.

    Marc2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute space! Very spacious for having all the fun amenities they featured! For being in a gorgeous setting it was very easy to find paired with a lot of helpful notes and details to keep things simple when you are traveling in a place you’ve never been before. The bed was super comfortable and sheets so soft! Loved all the little sweet touches and deck with the chaise in the morning was absolutely fabulous!

  • This was a fantastic place to stay. Easy enough to get to, secluded enough to be relaxing, and plenty to do. The cottage was lovely and clean. The views from the pool/hot tub were completely stunning. It is too bad the hot tub is only on from 4-6! I could have stayed in there all day. This is a high tick area, so if you are traveling with a dog, be sure to check them thoroughly. We had to remove multiple ticks from our pup over the weekend. Also note that the property has a strict on-leash policy for dogs.

Our guesthouse is across the driveway from the main house on 1.5 acres on a quiet country road, yet only 2 miles from Old Town Auburn, 3 miles from the Auburn State Recreation Area, and 1.5 hours from Lake Tahoe. The guesthouse is approximately 375 sq ft, has its own entrance with convenient parking, a well-appointed kitchenette, a bedroom with a full size bed adjoining a private deck, and a huge bathroom with a closet. It’s perfect for a couple or single, and suitable for longer term stays.
Updated 4/5/20: We are currently complying with Placer County's guidelines regarding short term rentals. Specifically, our unit is in compliance as long as we meet the following criteria: --To provide COVID-19 mitigation and containment measures (for example, isolation and quarantine or the housing of displaced persons or the homeless); --To provide housing for essential critical infrastructure workers; and --For use by the property owner and his/her immediate family members. Thus, our schedule reflects openings for these purposes, and we will remain open as long as we are well and able to provide an exceptionally clean and safe place for you to stay. We have also instituted, temporarily, a 2 night minimum. Our unit is private and separate from our house, and I am solely responsible for cleaning and maintaining it. I am committed to your safety and comfort no less than I would be for myself and my own family. Please don’t hesitate to contact me regarding your questions or concerns. All for one and one for all. --Gina The Roost is a cozy private space with a cabiny feel. The entryway serves as both foyer and kitchenette, where you’ll find small versions of everything you need to cook and eat in: microwave, fridge with freezer, toaster/oven, hot plate, coffee maker. The well-stocked pantry has food staples, dishes and cooking essentials. We provide a selection of teas and freshly ground coffee; and whenever possible, fresh fruit and homemade granola with almond milk. On one side of the entry is the bedroom; on the other is the bathroom and closet. The bedroom has a pine ceiling and floor, and opens out to a private deck complete with party lights and seating to watch the sunset. The full size bed has a handmade cherry frame and a ComfortTech Serene Foam mattress. There’s WIFI, a DVD player, and the television is Roku enabled featuring three paid streaming services: Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. There’s also a desk-size table and chairs for eating and/or working. The bathroom is large, with two sinks, a vanity, a walk-in tiled shower, and separate toilet area. We provide nice soft towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, soap, hairdryer, etc. At the far end of the bathroom there’s a closet with a chest of drawers and extra blankets/pillows, a small iron and ironing board, a fan, and extra heater. You’ll find a couple games as well, for the occasional rainy day. We love that both the bedroom and the bathroom get lots of natural light—there is a skylight in each. And throughout the space, you’ll find original art pieces and photography by people we know and love. The property is always “coming along” but there’s something special about it even when it’s rough. We just like being here and we hope our guests do too. Our host philosophy is to treat everyone that comes to the Roost like a friend. We strive to provide a super-clean comfortable private space with lots of extras. We do not charge extra for cleaning and offer a discount if you stay more than one night. We take great pride in making you feel at home. The endeavor is dedicated to my mom, who would have said with the warmest smile and a brogue, “céad míle fáilte.”
Auburn is a really fun place to be. We have wineries, breweries, museums, art, shops, and it’s an outdoors-person’s paradise. The Auburn State Recreation Area has it all: trails for hiking, running, backpacking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and OHV; the American River for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, floating, rafting, fishing, and gold panning. There’s even some serious rock climbing to do here. We are super-close to Old Town Auburn and Downtown Auburn, as well as Newcastle. Ask us for restaurant recommendations but we always love Newcastle Pizzeria in Newcastle, and recommend Monkey Cat in downtown Auburn for fine dining. There's free parking at various locations that will get you into the Auburn State Recreation Area for running or hiking: Murphy's Gate, along the road near China Gate, and at American River Overlook Park. Parking is $10 at or near the confluence but that gets you really close to the river if you just want to hang out and cool off. We have maps in the guesthouse--ask us about any features of the park you're interested in visiting. If you're into cooler or cold (depending on the time of year), head up I80 toward Truckee. We are only 1 hour from skiing at Boreal, and 1.5 hours to numerous runs in the North Lake Tahoe area. Or take a hike along part of the Pacific Crest Trail with spectacular views of Donner Lake--that's less than an hour drive.
  • THIS was just what I needed. Making a cross country trip by car to pick up my son from college in San Francisco. It has been stressful time for all of us and Gina's place was so special, in nature, cool and fresh, spacious and so comfortable. The chorus frogs sang to me all night long! The hummingbirds in the morning were heavenly! Gina is an excellent accommodating host and I really really appreciate this very special place. If I need to go this way again I will DEFINITELY stay here! THANK YOU!!

    Jill2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The atmosphere was so much fun, the host was amazing, and everything was so clean!

  • My husband and I want to plan a trip just to stay at this amazing property again!!! It’s a beautifully set up home...light and airy. At night you can hear the frogs in the nearby creek. Everything was so peaceful. I really wish we had another night to enjoy there.

    Rachel2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gina’s place is a charming cabin-like escapees. We loved the artistic touches. The location is so close to the old town restaurants and not far from hiking. Gina was friendly and communicable. It was the perfect weekend escape for my husband and I.

Although this home is an upscale property in and upscale community the best part is the location. The backyard has amazing amenities but is also wooded and has a creek bed and walking paths as well. Location is minutes from HYW 80 so Reno is 80 minutes away. You can be in downtown Sacramento in 25 minutes. The largest mall in Sacramento are is 8 minutes away plus dozens of terrific dining places too. Your bedroom and private bath are separated from rest of home so you have complete privacy too.
We offer very fast wifi and if you need a place to spread out some work or read a book we have private dining room table for work and a very nice and comfy living room to relax.
Our home is at the end of a very secluded court. Very quiet and serene. Our backyard is full of oak trees and creek bed and more quiet. If you enjoy serenity you will love our home.
  • Great place!!!

  • Rick and Joyce could not have made our one week stay any nicer. Comfortable and clean accomodations. Nice and safe neighborhood with easy parking. Their backyard is a lovely park like setting to enjoy. Rick and Joyce welcomed conversation and were very helpful in making our stay as easy and pleasant as possible. Such a lovely couple. Highly recommend them as hosts.

    Gwen2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was only in town for a night, but Joyce and Rick were both such gentle and kind people during our limited interaction. I would absolutely stay again if I were in the area longer. Clean safe space, easy to find, and a comfortable room.

    Carolyn2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely time staying with Rick & Joyce. Unlike most Airbnbs I've stayed at, their room has a private bathroom, and their house also has a nice backyard. I was only staying for one night but they were very friendly.

    John2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! Joyce and Rick were so pleasant and friendly. I felt like I was at my grandparents house. Would HIGHLY recommend!!!

very secluded home with lake view. endless hiking/biking trails in summer and cross country ski/snow mobile in winter right out the door. Too many ski resorts within minutes to mention. We have one very friendly dog. Use of w/d and kitchen.
  • We loved staying at Marty’s beautiful house. Marty and her family were really helpful, welcoming and accommodating. The house was so cosy with amazing views and close to good restaurants. A highly recommended host in Tahoe!

    Priya2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very good stay at Marty's, the chalet surrounded by nature is superb and the alarm clock in the room with view on the lake is priceless. The welcome from the owners is very warm, it feels like home. We would definitely recommend!

    Mathieu2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Super comfortable bed with phenomenal lake views. We had a quick turn around time so we didn’t get to visit with Marty or Julian much but they were kind and helpful hosts!!

    Meg2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place and location was beautiful! High ceilings and the private him and hers bathroom was amazing. Perfect, secluded area with lots of things to do! The host and her husband lived in the home but I never saw them. Only when I checked in and checked out. LOVE HER DOGS!! wish i could've took those guys home! <3 All in all, a fantastic place. I would definitely stay there again.

    Jéssica2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • It is everything you will need and more. It was very clean, and Marty was an amazing host. You will not regret being here. Everything was easily available and there was a lot of thought put in small details around the house which made the overall stay memorable. Thank you Marty. We are going to see you soon. Lots of love

    Mahika2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place is comfortable and clean! The patio is the best spot to watch sunrise and sunset. You don’t even have to go out to the patio. You can watch inside the bedroom. The kettle in the room, wine opener, reading materials, dvds, and directTV are a plus. The bed and linen are very comfortable. The restroom is super clean and it has extra additional amenities. The water pressure is very good and the hot water heats up fast. The kitchen is fully stocked and it has industrial grade equipments. We were also able to wash and dry our snow clothes without a problem. Marty and her family were genuinely nice people, accommodating, and they respected our privacy. They are very generous in opening their home to Airbnb.

The people that enjoy and appreciate our place are those whom desire location above full service hotel amenities and luxury accommodations. We consider our condo as a vessel to the splendor of North Lake Tahoe. Take in all of Tahoe's mountain options from our cozy little lakeside studio that is central to all things that make N. Tahoe so special.
Close to the water but also close to Northlake Blvd. Summer traffic and winter snow removal may be heard from the unit (and every unit along Northlake Blvd). We offer a white noise machine, and earplugs and have priced the location accordingly. If you are a light sleeper this should be a consideration. Unfortunately our unit is NOT lakefront. It is on the lakeside only steps to the sand. Take a close look at the pictures on our site to gain an accurate view of the unit. Our condo is a SMALL. Our lakeside studio is all about location. The size only accommodates two guests. The "Bear's Den" clubhouse is available if you want to spread out a bit or use the dining table. (Bear's den is currently under going renovations.) If your primary reason for visiting the area is outdoor recreation, close proximity to the lake, Tahoe culture, ski resorts and access to the national forest then our studio has everything you need. Tahoe Vista is a quiet lakeside community. It isn't what anybody would describe as a party town. Our studio is #16 which is situated on the lake side of North Tahoe Blvd at the end of single level 4 unit complex. Please note: One wall is adjacent to another unit. The other wall is on the end of the complex on the street side. We are closest to the street so please expect some ambient street noise that varies seasonally. We genuinely value your vacation time and although we feel our little piece of Tahoe is perfect if, after reading about our space, you have any questions please feel free to ask. Our condo is a classic north shore studio on the lake and within the Franciscan Lakeside Lodge community. Perfect for those that want the value of an AIRBNB booking but prefer the privacy, location and convenience of traditional vacation lodging at Lake Tahoe. Our studio is a privately owned condo in a motor lodge style community. The Franciscan is a well known landmark of "North Lake." It is very small but comfortable, clean, well maintained and the location on the lake cannot be matched at our price point. We offer substantial value as our unit is central to all the mountain resorts without resort prices. We are closest to the road but not the furthest from the beach. The community is relatively easy going and our studio is perfect for two people wanting to facilitate access to outdoor activities. There are very few luxury and no high-rise hotels on the north shore between Incline Village, NV and Tahoe City making the Franciscan very typical motor lodging for the N. Shore. Serene, vintage, Tahoe. Because this is a studio we don't recommend more than 2 guests regardless of age and offer one parking spot for our guests. The unit has a comfortable queen bed, flat screen TV (with DVD player and cable), dinette table and fully furnished kitchen including microwave, refrigerator, stove top, oven, dishes, silverware, and pots and pans and coffee The condo is professionally cleaned prior to check in but there is no daily maid service. There are extra supplies in the closet near the bathroom. Should you need anything during your stay, please do not hesitate to contact us?
Boat ramps are very close by but subject to closure depending on conditions. The condo has mooring buoys available upon request for an additional fee, subject to availability. This location is perfectly situated in the Tahoe National Forest, but also just minutes from Northstar Ski Resort, Diamond Peak Ski Resort, Alpine Meadows, and Homewood. Safeway supermarket and great restaurants nearby, and under 3 miles to the Nevada border and casinos. Northstar: Closest resort with a great village. Alpine Meadows: Closest big mtn skiing but pricey. Homewood: Best value mtn. Mostly slower lifts but great mtn for the price. Diamond Peak: Just to say you went skiing. Great for kids. Squaw: Squaw is Squaw. North Tahoe is quiet and offers a much slower pace than other areas of the lake. If you are looking for a fast paced getaway you will probably be disappointed with Tahoe North.
  • Lovely place right on the shore of N. Lake Tahoe. Has all that you need including cooking accessories. Host was informative and easy to understand.

    Dakota2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy little studio, perfect for two. Super clean and everything you need you got it there. Beautiful side of the lake just a few feet away from the doorstep. Amazing hostess, definitely care about you and your needs. In love with the area too, everything you need is around.

    Sharon2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for the weekend at Johnny and Jeanyne's place to hit the slopes at Northstar, which is a very short drive away. The place was clean and it was a treat to walk on the dock over the lake in the morning. Good value for the location.

  • Great location in North Lake Tahoe and really good value!

    Trevor2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This studio lodge was perfect for my husband and I to get away for the week to N Lake Tahoe. This was our first trip to Tahoe and the location is perfect. The location is right by the water, has a beautiful pier and view of the lake and the mountains. It looks exactly like the pictures. It is close to restaurants and things to do but also located in a quieter part of the lake. We had the most relaxing vacation here!

Private bedroom and bathroom! Very relaxing bedroom! The bathroom has great water pressure and a very nice showerhead… I provide shampoo, conditioner and soap and towels of course. Let’s help keep Airbnb going by leaving a light footprint. Clean up after please. Read house rules in detail!
Super safe neighborhood near both Kaiser hospitals Roseville and Sutter Hospital Roseville! Westfield Galleria, hiking trails and Folsom Lake. Great location with supermarkets less than a mile away! Great restaurants all around! Very desirable neighborhood near Granite Bay; upscale homes nearby. The best part I love about this apartment is it is very close to the freeway! Less than a mile to the freeway :-) this lovely apartment is well suited for person/s that have things to do and explore; prolly a bit small to hang out all day and all night. I meditate and love the space here and hope you enjoy as well!

  • This was my first stay with Air bnb. Her house is a good distance from the stresses and the hassles of day to day life. Any window of her beautiful house looks like a beautiful painting you can stare at for hours. I felt more at home here than anywhere I've been. She puts forth alot of effort in her hosting. She has a beautiful home with nice things which you have access. Not to mentionshe allows kids and pets. I am grateful to have the peace I needed for a few days. Definitely would come back. She does have cats and dogs which are the most well mannered and friendly. Thanks Tammi

All non-essential businesses in the area as well as the ski resorts are closed until further notice. Experience tiny home living for yourself in this tastefully and functionally remodeled cabin one block from the shores of Lake Tahoe! This petit abode has all the amenities of a normal house in a comfortable and compact design full of custom details. The tiny home village is centrally located in Kings Beach and offers the best of both worlds: walkability to restaurants, bars, markets, trails and the beach as well as quick access to beautiful open space and ski resorts for outdoor adventure. This home provides all the modern comforts in a space appropriately sized for one or two people, allowing for increased energy efficiency and focus on outdoor lifestyle. It's also a cozy little place to hide out from the snow or get some work done. PLEASE NOTE: this cabin is half of a duplex that shares a wall with the cabin next door. At times, sounds from the other apartment can be heard. LOFT BEDROOM: Accessed by a steep ladder, the loft bedroom has a queen size memory foam mattress with 100% cotton linens, a fluffy down comforter, down pillows, a fan, and a "sleep+sound" sound machine. The loft does not have full height ceilings. ATTENTION: It is not advised that anyone unable to safely go up and down a steep ladder rent the tiny home. NOTE: This house (and 99% of houses in Tahoe) does not have air conditioning. On rare warm nights we recommend opening the window and using the fan. KITCHEN : More spacious feeling than a tiny home on wheels, the main floor of the cabin has full height ceilings and includes a fully stocked kitchen with: - gas cooktop - small fridge with separate freezer - washer/dryer in-one combo laundry unit - cookware essentials (pots, pans, plates, cups, cutlery, etc.) - cast iron pans - non-stick frying pan - Italian stove-top espresso maker - french press - hand mill coffee grinder - "vita-mix" blender - tea kettle - toaster oven - electric waffle maker Note: there is no oven or microwave but we have used the toaster oven to bake cookies, breads and small cakes. LIVINGROOM: The main living area is adjacent to the kitchen and has a love-seat, and a convertible dining table that seats up to four if you bring in the chairs from the porch. There is enough room for two people to practice yoga side by side if you push the coffee table to the foot of the ladder. We provide one yoga mat, and a high density foam roller in the living room closet. The space is heated by a large wall heater and there is a small electric space heater fireplace with artificial flames for a little ambiance. We don't have a TV, but you can read a book from our collection, or stream using wifi on your personal device. BATHROOM: The beautifully tiled bathroom is stocked with 100% cotton towels. In the effort to waste less plastic, the shower is equipped with a shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion dispenser. All of the products are natural plant based with essential oils. FRONT PORCH / OUTSIDE: The front porch has a seating area for two the overlooks the other tiny homes and the central green space. The beach is just minutes away and the closest access takes you to the quiet end of the beach :)
"Tahoe Tiny Home Village" is a "pocket neighborhood" of eight tiny homes occupied by full-time Tahoe residents. This home is the exception, lived in part-time by the village owners, and offered as a nearby option for visiting friends and family of the community members, or to anyone wanting a beautiful and cozy spot to enjoy Lake Tahoe. Built in the 1950's as a "drive in" hotel this little village was a run down mess destined to be torn down and replaced by condos until we saw its potential. Original details such as the tongue and groove wall paneling were saved whenever possible preserving their "cabin" charm while giving them a modern update. Kings Beach is a lively and diverse community in North Lake Tahoe, offering amazing walkability to beautiful beaches, hiking trails, restaurants, bars, and shops.
  • Beautiful tiny home with everything you need to enjoy your trip to Tahoe. The instructions are easy to understand and the recommendations and tips they have about the area are amazing.

  • First time using Airbnb and glad I picked Lissa's tiny home. Very cozy and felt very homey. For the price, I think it's a steal. My nose is a bit sensitive to bleach tho, but I can assure the place is clean. Awesome location too, as it is walking distance to everything.

Studio room with private entrance. Super-comfy queen bed, sink, toilet & shower in one room. (Please see pictures.) Accommodates one or two people. We provide nice sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, hair dryer, soaps and coffee maker. Also has a little fridge. Sierra snow melt means great water. Its not a super-fancy room, but quite comfortable in a lovely setting. No TV or phone, but we will provide a WiFi code. If you don't need fancy, but want private and clean - this is your spot!
It is a quiet property in a quiet neighborhood. The Studio does have upstairs neighbors - they are not noisy people, but when they are home, you may hear them walking around and you will definitely hear when they use water. This is one of the least expensive places in our area. If you will give a poor review because it is small or you hear water noise, please book a more expensive place. We charge a low price because of these factors. Also, it would not be suitable if you do not have transportation. **Special place for Pilots!! Our place is across from the little Nevada County airport - walk to taxiway, airport parking areas and airport office. If you are coming for an event at the Nevada County Air Park, this is the place for you! Fly in and stay here! The Nevada County Air Park is a CalFire base - so in fire season, there may be some bombers flying!
This is a quiet, dead-end street - nice for walking and relaxing. Our property backs up to the forest - you will likely see some deer, jackrabbits, wild birds and other critters.
  • Beautiful place. Great hosts. I definitely recommend this place. Thank you again for hospitality.

  • This room was perfect for what I needed and a great value. I was a single traveler so the shower and toilet in the room worked out fine for me. The room was supplied with everything I needed, including hair dryer and even some snacks. The bed was also SO comfortable. I would definitely recommend!

  • Stayed here for two weeks for work and will always book this air bnb when in the area! Easiest communication, easiest check in, and conveniently located. This place is quite the steal! I felt safe comfortable and warm staying here!:)

  • Staying in the area for work and this is exactly what I’m looking for. Confidently located, clean, safe, in a good neighborhood. And very very very nicely priced! Rebooked for the following week!:)

  • Very convenient and comfortable!

    Annie2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute and cozy. Price is absolutely unbeatable. Had everything I needed. Just a short drive to Grass Valley or Nevada City. As others have mentioned, bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper because of the noise from upstairs (mostly just water running). If there's more than 1 of you, make sure you notice that there is no enclosure/privacy for the toilet. None of this was a surprise to me and it was the perfect homebase for my weekend mountain biking clinic.

  • This is a wonderful private, comfortable, clean, and quiet place to stay. We really enjoyed having the full-size refrigerator and kitchen area. There was everything you could need including high quality pans to cook in and a hot plate and microwave. The bed was extremely comfortable. And for anyone like myself who is challenged to get in and out of the shower it was very easy with a low threshold. Well worth staying and I would highly recommend it to anyone else!

  • Jennifer and her place were the absolute best! The place - The guest suite was so cute and cozy! We loved the setup and slept like babies. Jennifer + her kids - So, we were blocked in by snow due to one of the biggest snow storms they had all season.. But Jennifer was SO nice and offered us breakfast and lunch while we waited for things to get cleared up enough to leave All in all, if you're looking for a nice place to stay that's only 15 min from south lake Tahoe, this is your place!

    Samantha2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, cozy place, in a beautiful area. Near Lake Tahoe downtown. Clean and with all the amenities needed. Highly recommend.

    Elayne2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We’re so glad to stay at Jennifer’s place, the room is cozy, full of thoughtful touches and really clean, we even let our 10 month old baby craw on the ground. We love the location as well, it’s quite and so beautiful everywhere around it. Will definitely come back!!

    Antonio2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Jennifer’s place the day before, and it worked out perfectly. Her place is a great little pit stop when in the area. We needed a place to stay the night before skiing Kirkwood, which is only 30 minutes away. The place had everything we needed, was clean, and a hot tub we didn’t get to use. Communication was great! Would recommend to others, and would definitely stay again

    Justin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for skiing at Sierra. The space was warm and cozy. We were too tired to use the hot tub but it was readily available. We were able to take our pups, who stayed in a crate while we were away. There weren’t enough outlets so I just had to keep switching what was plugged in to power up the hot pot, microwave, or bedside lamp. Thanks for a great stay!

    Royanna2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent three days in South Lake Tahoe and wouldn't have had such a wonderful time if we had stayed anywhere else. The surrounding area is close to great restaurants like the Getaway Cafe, which Jennifer recommended, and a beautiful forest area down the street for walks/hikes. The backyard was perfect for our puppy to tire herself out and three friendly cats that leisurely hang around. The hot tub and the night sky is a great relaxing time. The room itself was clean, well supplied with dishes, cookware, and toiletries as well as board games. I won't be looking anywhere else for a place to stay. The price is too good for the location and quality of time spent there. Thanks Jennifer.

    Greg2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer is very kind, quick to respond, and welcoming. This is a small sweet little location in a beautiful location. Jenn has everything you need (towels, instructions, coffee mugs, coffee machine, utensils, heater, fridge, microwave, dish soap, etc. etc.). My husband, I, and another couple stayed for a short time but it was quite nice. We actually made a mistake with checkout but Jenn was gracious and cool about it. Cute cats too!

  • I planned a spontaneous get away .. I was looking for something w a farm house feel .. as I’m scrolling on the website I come across this cottage .. WONT HE DO IT😅😊❤️ it was just me so the space was absolutely perfect.. I adore the location... I love the decor (I thought the st. Patrick’s pillow was soooo cute as it matched the season- but that was just one of many pieces.. the entire place was adorable) .. Not only did I have the cottage to myself .. it’s also detached from the rest of the house .. which to me gives a little more ease .. such a perk! The blankets were soooo comfy !! there is both AC and an electric fire place to suite your fancy .. TV cable I did need to take quick showers as the water got cold fast .. but again it really gave such a farm house feel .. I thought it was cute .. I wasn’t bothered by any one at all .. if anything I may have been more of a pest w my questions (lol) .. Cynthia was super helpful and welcoming the entire time .. I’m so grateful to have come across her in such short amount of time ☺️❤️ Ty - I’ll definitely book a stay again.

  • My second time staying here and it was wonderful! So cozy and easy to come and go. I could log into my Disney plus account and unwind at the end of the day. Beautiful patio area as well, though I got in after dark each night so didn’t get to enjoy it much. The walk way to the house was well lit. (Though you don’t walk far since you can park right next to the cottage.) Felt safe and cozy the whole time.

    Kim2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a little gem. I cannot wait to return. Great little space, comfortable bed, tranquil space

  • We absolutely loved the, “Miner’s Cabin”. If you want a comfy cozy place to go to after being out & about in the Placerville area...this place is for you! Relaxing, quiet, & a great place to unwind. We would totally recommend it & will be back if we are in the area again!! Thank you!!!

    Steven2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are using your GPS, it might tell you that you have arrived just after you have passed the driveway. There is a huge boulder as a landmark at the entrance. Also it is near a turn so slow down in the approach. The other thing is that there are no lights so it’s really dark at night. The cottage is really cute and has everything you need. Cynthia and her husband are nice and welcoming. The fountain is very relaxing and it was cool to hear the birds chirping in the morning.

    Sophia2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia was very helpful and clear with the check in process. This was our first Air BnB so we needed the extra instructions. The cottage was perfect! Super clean and very charming with antique decor appropriate for the area. The cottage was a in-law suite on the side of the property with it's own little patio and garden area. Horses and other livestock are nearby for our viewing pleasure. Shopping and downtown is a 5 minute drive. Excellent host!

    Francis2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's place is a gem in a lovely location. Placerville is a beautiful and inspiring village and the cottage really provides a great place to enjoy the miner's history. Furthermore the short drive to lake tahoe and Sacremento make Cynthia's place enjoyable for everybody. Inside it is very cosy and Cynthia provided helpful booklets and information about the area

  • My favorite Airbnb. My husband and I have stayed here several times and will always come back. We go to Grass Valley to enjoy the great music brought in. We also look forward to staying at Justin's. It is like a home away from home as every is comfort is met (the bed is comfortable, too). It's also a short walk into town, which we choose to do. We enjoy admiring the older homes (and old mansions) along the way. You will like this place!

  • Lissa’s space was beautiful, comfortable, and well-located—the perfect spot for a getaway. We had a minor mixup around check-in but apart from that, we had a really wonderful stay.

    Sarah2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a romantic trip with your significant other🥰 Our first time going to Kings Beach was an amazing experience and the Mini Mansion made me feel cozy and at home.☺️

    Diana2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute bnb for Tahoe - perfect fit for two. It had the mountain cabin feel and that was exactly what I was going for. Super quick drive over to Northstar and ideally located to the lake. I would stay again & recommend.

    Emily2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The mini mansion is great - a charming little place with some lovely details (the fire, the sauna etc). It's perfectly located for a trip to North Tahoe and I would highly recommend!

    Brett2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s place is perfect for a romantic getaway. There’s a skylight that allows you to see the stars while lying in bed. Overall the cabin is clean and stylish and we had no problem checking in/out. The location is great too: 2min drive to Safeway and 30min drive to the Squaw Valley ski resort.

    Charlene2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lissa's place was so cool! We had some trouble getting in when we arrived and when I messaged her to figure it out, she responded almost immediately. We loved our stay and want to steal all her design ideas to use in our own home. Thanks, Lissa!

    Sara2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying in Lissa’s home. The space is small, but well organized and tastefully decorated which made it very comfortable. Lissa’s home is also clean; I especially appreciated that! The location is perfect as her home is close to shopping and restaurants. It’s ~10 minute drive to Northstar which is our favorite ski place. Lissa is also a great communicator. She explained her expectations clearly, and checked in with us several times during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend Lissa’s home and would definitely stay here again!

This 170 sq ft hideaway is nestled among old oak trees behind our main residence. Light, bright and cheerfully appointed, the cottage offers a comfy, clean, newly renovated bedroom & adjoining bathroom.
Cozy studio with adjacent bathroom connected by the original barn door. Lovingly referred to as the "Playhouse", it was built by Jon's grandfather as a Christmas gift for his children in Christmas 1959. Fully renovated in 2017, the Queen bed has quality linens. Bathroom has showers both inside and outside (outdoor shower is semi-private, so popular in the Summer months.) While there is no kitchen, the cottage provides everything serious coffee drinkers need in the morning: a mini-fridge, electric Hario kettle, Chemex pour-over coffee pot, Peets coffee/Tazo teas, cream & sugar.
Built in the 1950's, the property was constructed before I-80 & Hwy 49 became such busy thoroughfares and feels incredibly private for such a central location.
  • Great place, location and price. Would gladly stay here again!

    Cody2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

    Gary2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

    Angel2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay! Close to downtown and everything Auburn has to offer. Darling decor and kid friendly. I loved all of the little details (books, coloring supplies, lollipops, bed side lights, heater, natural toiletries, mirrors, magazines, coffee and cream in a cute little fridge box, etc). Bright and cheery. I wish we could have stayed longer.

    Dianna2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was amazing, from the decor to the nature. It was so calming and romantic for my boyfriend and me to walk near the creek and listen to the quiet nature at night. Sara made sure the directions to get to the house were clear and simple. We loved every second and can't wait to come back!

    Sara2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's tiny house on Squirrel Creek is adorable, cozy, and very comfortable. Peaceful setting. Easy-peasy check-in. Gorgeous local area. We visited Grass Valley and Nevada City and both were great places to visit. We love the historic mining towns!

  • Really great spot, secluded right next to the river and the main house isn't too close at all. The windows around the bed will make you want to lay in bed all day. Loved it!

    Mary2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, cozy place and we will be back. Quiet location with running creek and nature noises.

    Rochelle2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We needed a last minute accommodation and Sara came to the rescue! She was ready for us in the time we needed and we had a wonderful, private time. We were not bothered at all and the house was visible from the front door but up on the hill far away between trees. She even left us a treat! It is definitely a tiny shabby chic place, but it did the trick and we had a wonderful experience in the creek. Saw a river otter!

  • A snowstorm coincided with our weekend at Janine and Ken's adorable mountain cabin and we could not have asked for better hosts. They were incredibly communicative and helpful, from helping us navigate road closures due to the snow and making sure we made it to the cabin, to literally helping us dig our car out of the snow so we could leave on our scheduled day. The cabin was very family friendly, which is uncommon. There were toys and games for our toddler and a great lofted bed above the main bed. The wood burning stove was fun to use and kept the cabin nice and warm. There is also a wall heater if you need but even in the midst of a snowstorm we didn't need it. There is everything you'd ever need to cook in the kitchen. The bathroom is spacious and there's a bonus sink in the bedroom. The location is fantastic--high enough to be in the mountains but closer to the Bay Area than Donner/Truckee/Tahoe and you don't need to deal with the crowds and traffic of Tahoe. We hope to stay again soon, whether in winter or summer! Thanks again Janine and Ken for being the best Airbnb hosts we've ever had!

    Rebecca2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is WONDERFUL.

    Jeremy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • As a host, Janine was graciously attentive to our stay. She had the cabin warmed up before our arrival. She even had a little birthday message and flowers for my wife. Those little yet personal and sweet touches meant a lot to us and set the tone for a wonderful stay in the cabin. The cabin, itself, was cozy yet spacious. Each room of the cabin is planned and constructed wonderfully. This is a great place to just get away and unplug. My wife and I definitely look forward to planning our next trip with Janine's cabin in mind. Thank you so much!

    Jack2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Janine and Ken’s place was a huge treat! The Sweet Sierra Cottage is such an amazing mountain treasure. This was the perfect spot to rest, relax, and recuperate after the hustle and bustle of being in the city (or on the slopes). The place is spotless and well stocked with all sorts of amenities to enjoy being in the woods. Take the basic WiFi as a blessing: the guys and I watched Ocean’s Eleven and enjoyed conversation in a safe, secluded environment, something we wouldn’t normally experience without being interrupted by our phones. Janine & Ken were also wonderful and would check on us... I wish our schedule was a bit less jam packed so we could have been better social guests (we got there late and left the cabin early both days)... nonetheless, they are the perfect hosts and absolutely accommodating! Highly recommended!!

    Trish2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Janine's place is a very nice cabin. I just stayed for a couple of nights but it was very relaxing: it's quiet, the place is very well furnished (especially the kitchen) and pleasant to stay in. Janine and her husband were quick to answer any questions and they even brought a "pack and play" for my 6 month old baby. That was a thoughtful touch. Very friendly people.

    Jeanne2020-02-27T00:00:00Z

The Atomic Lounge is a cozy fully equipped upstairs apartment with that mid-century flare. We are located just one block away from our vibrant historical downtown district and a comfortable walk to the beautiful Nevada County fairgrounds.
This home was built on the original 1872 Townsite of Grass Valley and one block over from the corner of Main St and Mill St. Being one of the first rows of residential streets in the city, you are literally steps way from all the trappings our wonderfully little city has to offer. Several local wineries are located downtown. You can make it an evening hopping from one tasting room to another without any care. Also located downtown is a nice selection of gastronomical cuisines to choose from and world class entertainment can be had at “The Center for the Arts”. And, don’t forget there is plenty shopping to be had as well. Located just a few miles away, is the county seat, Nevada City. This also has a bustling gold rush era downtown. If you are looking for some outdoor adventures, there are plenty to choose from as well. In addition, we are able to offer spacious and safe off street parking. Gourmet coffee, bottled water, some sacks, WiFi and cable TV are also included.

  • Wonderful stay. Only downside was not booking it for longer or spending more time in it as we spent most of our time adventuring around the region. Felt completely secluded which is what we came for and love to have. Was really neat to read about and see the special materials used to construct the house. The one need we had was responded to and dealt with VERY promptly. Looking forward to staying during a warmer month so we can open the walls!

Welcome! The cottage here is a beautiful drive, just over 5 minutes to downtown Placerville. You will love it here. It is surrounded by the hills and trees of Placerville. The cottage is fresh and clean always. Deer are seen all around the property.
  • Nice, quiet retreat!

    Sarah2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is in a great location, well stocked with just about anything you might need during your stay and the king size bed is very, very comfortable. Check-in is simple and Mark is available for any assistance needed. The interior is modern and tastefully decorated , it looks brand new and is very clean. The place is much bigger in person, it's perfect for 2 couples or a small family. The cottage is located in the countryside so the surrounding area is wooded and very quiet at night for a peaceful nights sleep. Placerville is an adorable, historical little town in the beautiful Sierra foothills with plenty of sights to visit. The cottage is close to many wineries, Apple Hill, downtown and hiking/biking trails. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this cottage to folks visiting the area.

    Michelle2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's place is a great one bedroom apartment that has everything you need when visiting Placerville.

  • Great hospitality, very nice guesthouse. Will be coming back for sure

    Caleb2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage in a quiet location. Cottage was clean and cozy. My wife liked the flameless candles that were on timers. They were a pleasant surprise our first night back to the cottage after dinner. Good location close to Placerville, Folsom and El Dorado. Check in/out was seamless. Overall a great stay.

    Joerg2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's place is very clean and stylish which is hard to find in this area as most of the motels are decades old and outdated. Mark's place was just what I was hoping it was, super clean and nice.

    Ken2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful cottage, conveniently located to old town Placerville, Folsom and El Dorado. The hosts were welcoming, warm and respectful. All of this made the perfect backdrop for my much needed get away from the Bay Area. I will definitely book a stay here again on my next visit to Placerville! Thank you Mark and Shala for your hospitality!

    Lisa2020-02-14T00:00:00Z

With stunning sunset views this yurt offers tranquility in the forest. A vanishing edge salt water pool and spa are a short walk away and are shared by all guests. We are in the midst of wineries and close to whitewater rafting and hiking. Please note: We charge a $25 cleaning fee per stay for up to two dogs. Other options available on our property include: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1959360 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/26519059 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/35039486
The Sunset Yurt is perched on the edge of a forested ravine with beautiful sunset views. At 200 square feet it is the largest of our three yurts, with a plush queen-sized bed and stylish, cozy design. There is an attached outhouse with a compost toilet and hot and cold running water. Luxurious semi-outdoor showers (shared), are a short walk away. In the winter months the yurt is insulated with a heater and an extra blanket; in the summer there is an electric fan. Outside, there is a handmade picnic table (made from trees on our property) and hang-out area exclusive to guests of the yurt. Cooking facilities include: * small refrigerator * drip coffee maker (filters, coffee and tea provided) * propane grill (propane included) * 3-burner propane cooktop * picnic table Please note that the cooking area is not covered in case of rain. You can either bring your own cookware, utensils, etc. or you can rent a camping box from us for $35 per stay which includes all you need to cook and serve your own food for two people, including place mats, plates, drinking glasses, mugs, bowls, eating utensils, dish towels, cooking utensils, salt and pepper, fry pan and pot, plus more. Best to reserve in advance to ensure availability. Our vanishing-edge, salt-water pool (un-heated) and hot tub feature spectacular sunset views and are available for all guests staying on the property from 8am to dusk. Perfect after a daytime hike or local excursion, the hot tub is heated during the 2 hours before sunset. We care about sustainability and the planet. We use unscented and chemical-free cleaners and laundry soap, and provide organic and biodegradable personal products for you to use during your stay. A cask of filtered, pure spring water from our on-site natural spring is provided in each unit, so no need to bring your own bottled water. Wifi is accessible throughout the property but since we are in a rural area, internet service is often slow and intermittent. Unfortunately it is not possible to get reliable, fast internet in our rural area - trust me, we are not happy about it either. We suggest the best way to experience all our property has to offer is to unplug, enjoy the birds chirping, listen to the breeze whistling through the treetops, and breathe in the fresh mountain air.
Our property is close to many hiking trails. Chili Bar Park on the South Fork of the American River is a 15 minute drive away and has a great beach and swimming area. There are multiple lakes within a short drive for paddle boarding, swimming, and canoeing or kayaking. Multiple river rafting trips take off from Lotus/Coloma which is about 20 minutes away.
  • My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights and it was absolutely amazing! Tamara and Ramon were highly responsive and made our experience even better than we expected.

    Melanie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place, close enough to Sacramento or the Bay Area for a weekend stay. Sitting in the hot tub with my husband as the sun set over the foothills was magical! We appreciated the quiet, getting to explore local farms, and being able to bring our dog. The yurt is spacious and very comfortable, and we weren't cold at all with the provided heated blanket. There were lots of thoughtful touches throughout Reverie, and we would definitely stay again. If you do bring your dog, make sure they are up-to-date with flea and tick preventive, since it is a wooded area (as many of the helpful signs remind you).

  • The sunset Yurt that we booked was amazing! The view is priceless! First time staying in a Yurt, me and my girlfriend didn’t know what to expect. But it was pretty cool. It was quiet so it felt like we were on our own in the forest. Tamara and Ramon were always responsive on our needs and checked on us. Would recommend for anyone looking for a weekend getaway

    Adam2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • FANTASTIC get away! The yurt is spacious, comfortable, clean, and welcoming. The amenities are amazing and I would happily stay here again!

    Leslie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re adventurous and outdoorsy, stay here! It feels like camping with quality hospitality.

    Allison2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The sunset yurt at the Reverie resort was absolutely amazing. We expected a nature trip but we were afraid it was going to be super chilly in the yurt, so we brought heated blankets and extra blankets. To our surprise, it wasn’t necessary at all! The yurt was well insulated and came with a heater AND a mattress heater. The hot tub was absolutely amazing and allowed us to see a beautiful sunset each night while being completely relaxed. Although we didn’t use the grill, it is right next to the yurt and super accessible. There was also coffee in the yurt, which made each morning that much more cozy! It rained our last morning and the yurt was still warm and sturdy. The hosts were extremely responsive. Our door got jammed one night and within a few minutes, Ramon came out to help us out. They are eager to help and respected our privacy. They provided a lot of information and details on their listing, in their welcome message, and in the house manual. It was super clear and accurate. Nothing was less than expected. I would absolutely recommend staying at the Reverie Resort!

After our long cross country drive with our dog, Tammi provided us with such a perfect stay and we couldn’t have asked for more. Her shower has great water pressure and the bed was so comfortable. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend staying here!

This large bungalow has the quiet air of a remote retreat while only a 5-minute drive to charming Nevada City. Situated on a one-acre park-like setting, it features a sleeping area with a comfy queen bed to one side and a sitting area with a sleeper sofa and TV to the other side, all below a high ceiling with four skylights. Also featured are a refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker. A great jumping off point to explore the Gold Country or just to cocoon in the Sierra foothills.
The Lower Banner Lava Cap neighborhood, also known as Banner Crest, is located on the border between Grass Valley and Nevada City and features some of the most interesting and elegant homes in the area. Though it feels miles from civilization, this house in the hills is only one and a half miles from three major supermarkets and just over two miles from downtown Nevada City.

  • Elegant, peaceful and private spot close to everything but hidden away. John is very friendly and accommodating. You feel very well cared for.

    Jae2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • John’s place is even prettier than the pictures. The lovely landscaping and gracious personal touches (fresh flowers, every imaginable kind of dairy and non-dairy product for your coffee, Hershey’s kisses, clear instructions) in the studio made my short stay quite special. I will definitely return.

  • Wow! If you are looking for a really nice, private place to stay, book Johns cottage. It's just a lovely property in a beautiful neighborhood and you feel so 'loved' & taken care of by John and all his thoughtful efforts to make things clear and leave you feeling at home. We enjoyed the space so much, we decided to just 'hang out and visit' instead of go out on the town prior to the music we came to hear... We'll be back for sure!

Enjoy all the foothills have to offer within minutes of this charming 320 sq.ft. 'Master Studio' located on an acre hilltop property with Auburn views. A full kitchenette, comfy queen bed, cotton linens, and a unique bathroom highlight the space. Whether fraternizing with the pygmy goats, soaking in the salt-water pool (May-Oct.), or enjoying in-or-out-door activities, this clean, tranquil, setting is the space for you. *UPDATE: Due to Recent Events, The Studio is Sanitized Between Each Guest!
This is a 320 square foot, attached, walk-in basement, Master Studio apartment that has been freshly renovated and sits on a private acre at the top of a hill. Besides great Auburn views, enjoy cotton linens, organic extras such as tea, coffee and snacks, as well as a full kitchen with all necessities. The bathroom (nicknamed, "The Cave") has a macerating, grinding pump located behind the toilet (affectionately nicknamed 'The Beast'). Note that when full, or when flushed, the pump will run for ~10 seconds (the pump is louder than a standard toilet, so don't be startled). 😉 There is a separate, well lit parking space off the circular driveway on the far side of the house, with a paved walkway to your private entrance (look for the Goat Crossing sign). Note that the 240v EV charge cord is located on the opposite side of the house, in front of the garage (if needed, just let me know). *Studio is always carefully cleaned, but now more care is given to disinfect the doorknobs, cabinets and all surfaces to ensure a safe space for all to visit.
This quiet, safe neighborhood (cul-de-sac street) has beautiful views of Auburn and the Tahoe mountains. You are close to interstate 80 and highway 49. You can walk to a popular brewery, restaurants and much more. Beautiful Auburn trails (hiking, biking), the American river and lake Clementine (fishing, paddling) are only minutes away. The house is located at the top of a hill, in a quite neighborhood, so please drive slowly and be considerate of neighbors. :-)
  • DEFINITELY my new go to place to stay when I’m in town on business! So clean & comfortable, perfect location for the surrounding cities! The bed was amazing, great nights sleep! And of course, the icing on the cake...Brownie & Morgana!

  • This place is in perfect condition, it has all over beautiful and interesting touches. The pymgoats outside make you smile every time you go out, and the view is gorgeous. James was a very attentive host, and respectful. When it was raining he left us an umbrella outside, a beautiful gesture. I highly recommend this place.

  • This place is great. It's easy to run into town, super clean and nice inside, there's a beautiful spot outside, and goats!

    Lucas2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • James was incredibly accommodating and easy to talk to. Really appreciated the helpful little nuances of the place.

    Gary2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • James provided such a warm greeting and orientation to the studio. I loved having the goats so close and being able to visit and let them. They were so friendly. He was nice to keep the heat on because the space can be cold, but there are also space heaters which help. The bathroom pump is loud as he describes but it doesn’t last long and isn’t a big deal. I didn’t flush in the late evening just to avoid the sound at unnecessary times and also to save water. It was so nice to have snacks in the room and little touches like spices, bottled water, etc. He really cares about the hospitality and goes above and beyond. The shower runs out of hot water pretty quickly. I forgot to inform him in case he didn’t know. All in all, it was very nice and I’d like to stay there again when visiting family in the area.

  • Great place with the essentials for an excellent price. Lori responds quickly and check in and out was easy. The place itself is cozy and provides the basic essentials. Nothing fancy. I think Lori was trying to be honest when she said that the pictures were taken by Airbnb professionally because it does seem a lot dimmer and less grand in person. So I was a little let down when I saw the actual room in person, Regardless we had a pleasant stay. There is central heating with a thermostat you control however the blanket provided was thin. My girlfriend said “not enough blankets if my boyfriend wasn’t a human heater I may not have survived the frigid nights.”

  • This studio was a great place to stay in north Lake Tahoe. It was clean, comfortable, and close to everything you need. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Close to every thing, quite convenient. Small but have everything. You might see wild coyote in the morning and night, so better leash your dog.

Located a few hundred feet from the Iris gardens at Horton farm, a six acre garden space with over 1400 Iris varieties. Bloom season is April and May. The cottage was built in 1945 on my family's heritage farm. She's located next to the old barn alongside a small Creek. Inside you'll find a fresh colorful landscape of hand made cabinets, concrete countertops and furniture. The heated and Polished concrete floor is ready for farm life. You'll be delighted in the vintage items and local artwork.
A quiet colorful retreat located at the base of the Sierra mountains nestled down a small country road. Only one mile from the Penryn exit off Hwy 80. The cottage has had a long history. Originally built for farm workers in 1945. The years were hard on the old shack, the creek flooded her a few times, a big oak fell on her and broke her back, and the occasional deer used her as a sanctuary during the stormy season if the door got left open. Each event left it's mark and every time she was built stronger. The latest chapter involved a partnership between Kermit McCourt and Doug Horton. They applied their artistic building skills to remake the shack into a cottage. In the end Kermit and his family lived in the cottage for many happy years. We hope your story can be added to her history. Small modern indoor full bathroom with shower plus an outdoor shower because California weather is awesome. A few games and toys are hidden away under the window seat. Maid service-We do not provide turn down service or maid service during your visit but will make adjustments upon request.
What can I say, my family has lived on this land for six generations. We moved back to raise our daughter after working in Alaska and then travelling for seven years by sailboat. Loomis still has that small town feeling it had when I was a kid. Folsum lake and the American river canyon are just twenty minutes away Local wineries and beer pubs within a few miles. Want to ski - Boreal is 50 minutes away.
  • I loved the cottage. It was clean and cozy and had a great view.

  • As a city-dweller, this is a magical and comforting place to be just 1.5 hrs from SF. My husband, my dog, and I all enjoyed everything about this cottage. It was historic and quiet yet modern and sparkling clean. We only wished we would’ve stayed longer. We’ll definitely be back.

  • The Cottage is quite an unepected gem. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage and how thoughfully stocked the kitchen was. Our daughters were extremely excited about the swing in the tree and thankful to the host for allowing the kids to visit and feed the goats. We hope to stay again real soon.

  • Second time at Doug's place and we continue to love it. It's a magical cottage that is also comfy and functional. The kids and pups love exploring. Doug is a cool easy-going guy who makes the stay even better. And there are goats on the farm, so there's that.
