The boathouse is a unique space which sleeps 2 in one bedroom/sitting room overlooking the Broad. Fully centrally heated and completely renovated last year, it also has kitchenette, wet room and sunny patio. A pub and cafe are a short walk away. Hot tub rental available.
The Boat House is a unique space which sleeps 2 in one bedroom/sitting room. Fully centrally heated and completely renovated last year, the property has a wonderfully sunny patio where you can relax after a busy day exploring the area. The accommodation comprises of one large room upstairs which has a Feather and Black bed which can be split into twin beds or made into one large double bed. This room also has two armchairs and a TV with a large inbuilt desk set under a window which looks out towards the Broad and the moored boats. This is a wonderful space for the budding writer or for enjoying breakfast. The original staircase (fairly steep) leads down to the kitchenette (please note, no oven) and wetroom. The wetroom has underfloor heating. There is a pub and a cafe in the village, both 5 minute's walk away which serve lunch and evening meals (only the pub serves the latter). There is also 'The Ship Inn' in South Walsham which serves meals and is just over a mile away. The apartment is dog friendly, we accept one well behaved dog. HOT TUB RENTAL £75 per short break. The tub is filled and heated for your arrival and comes with a chilled bottle of prosecco! Homemade cake, fizz and balloons for special occasions £30
Ranworth is a beautiful village in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. There is a nature reserve in the village which has a thatched visitor centre on stilts at the end of a boardwalk which overlooks Ranworth Broad. From here you can take wildlife trips on the Norfolk Wildlife Trust boat. There is a huge array of birds and wildlife to observe and listen to here. The rare swallowtail butterfly can often be seen in the garden. Ranworth church which you can see from the property is known as the 'Cathedral of the Broads'. Climb up to the top of the tower and enjoy wonderful views of the village and views all the way across to the coast. The church is known for it's beautiful rood screen and antiphoner and is well worth a visit. There is also a cafe here. A few minutes walk from the accommodation is the staithe which is host to the many boats which visit the village. Here you will find a pub, shop (closed from November until March) and cafe. It's a great spot to have a meal or a drink and watch the world go by. There are walks in the area and you may also like to visit the nearby Fairhaven Woodland and Water Gardens, which comprises of 53 hectares (131 acres) of beautiful ancient woodland, water gardens and a private broad at South Walsham. Amongst the many things that make living here special, are waking up to the sunshine with the mist hanging over the broad (with the boom of the bittern in the distance if you are lucky!), listening to the owls hooting late at night and drifting along the river on a boat. There is so much to see and do here not only in the village but also in the rest of the Broads. We are also close to many beaches. Winterton beach is a favourite both with locals and our guests. There is cafe right on the beach and a cosy pub in the village of Winterton. Norwich is only half an hour away with it's wonderful shops and museums. Wroxham is 15 minutes away where you can hire a boat to explore the waterways and there are fishing jetties on the River Bure, about 10 minutes drive away. Imagine Spa in Blofield Heath has a range of relaxing treatments available too, again only 10 minutes away!
  • We stayed at the Boathouse and it was absolutely amazing! Jane was very thoughtful we was left with some cookies which was a nice touch. Jane sent me a huge message beforehand explaining how to gain access, directions and things to do whilst we was there. Hot tub was an amazing touch with free champagne. I asked Jane to put up some birthday balloons beforehand and she did with no fuss about paying etc which was lovely. When we arrived there was alpacas in the field behind the boathouse which was lovely. Would you 100% go again!!

  • Wow! A charming, high quality and very special place to stay. The attention to detail and cleanliness are exceptional. So many little touches that were very much appreciated. Lovely views of Ranworth Broad to the front, and to the Church and Alpacas to the rear; and what a treat the Alpacas are to watch from the hot tub... Our only disappointment was that we did not book more nights! Thank you Jane, so much.

  • The perfect get away!! Jane was a lovely host and the boat house is amazing. The hot tub was ready as soon as we got there which was nice and relaxing. Jane also had a homemade cake, Prosecco and balloons ready for the arrival for my boyfriends birthday. Will definitely be back in the future!

  • A lovely place to go for a relaxing weekend, very clean and has everything you need. 100% recommend going here!

  • My boyfriend and I spent a lovely 4 days at Jane's Boat House in February. The place is just as lovely as it looks in the photos and the views from both sides are very picturesque, even in gale force winds and lashing rain! We loved sitting at the front window overlooking the broads and boats - it was so relaxing and peaceful. Similarly, the sheep and alpacas in the field to the back kept us amused chasing each other around. So sweet! The Boat House is so cosy, warm and snug and the bed is so comfortable. There are also sweet little touches dotted around like freshly cut flowers and sea shells decorating the bath towels. Despite the weather we did manage one evening in the hot tub which was wonderfully relaxing. Jane provides big robes to put on afterwards for the dash back into the warmth. As other reviewers have mentioned, the stairs are very steep but thankfully there are hand rails on both sides so you soon get used to them. Just make sure you have at least one hand free and don't attempt to go down laden with crockery and glasses! We enjoyed a couple of lovely meals out - the first in the Ship Inn just down the road in South Walsham and the other a little further afield in the King's Head in Holt. We also visited the Malsters for a few drinks which is only a 2 minute walk away. The beach at Winterton is a lovely place for a long walk. Jane wasn't around when we first arrived but the self check-in is very easy with the use of a key safe and means that you don't feel like you are disrupting anyone's day. When we met Jane on the second day she was very friendly and welcoming and definitely strikes the right balance between letting you know she is always on hand whilst ensuring you have complete privacy during your stay. All in all we had a fantastic time and are already thinking about when to go back. The Boat House is the perfect location for a long weekend of total rest and relaxation.

The caravan sleeps 4, and comes fully equipped... even with a dishwasher, Wifi, heating, parking, raised deck, outdoor seating and parking. The perfect location - right on the beach! Escape to the coast and relax in a unique cool caravan situated right on the beach with uninterrupted sea and coastal views. Only a few steps from your door and you are on the beach. Inside the cosy, beach-style static caravan you will be able to unwind and de-stress, with the calming sound of the waves in the background. Enjoy a brisk walk along miles of clean, sandy beaches or simply soak up the sun, sand and sea as you step outside your door. It is also the ideal location from which to explore the uncrowded Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines, the picturesque villages and the world-famous Norfolk Broads. The Broads at Ormesby and at Filby are just 3 or 4 miles away. Accommodation Our individually-styled "cool caravan" is more like a seaside cottage. It is fully plumbed in with water, gas, electricity and a flushing toilet, so it offers all the comforts you would expect in a self-catering holiday home, with a homely feel. The accommodation consists of:- •1 double bedroom 4ft 6" bed with TV/DVD, hairdryer •1 twin bedroom 2ft 3" beds (can be pushed together) •Family bathroom (access from corridor and main bedroom) with small bath and shower over & hand basin •Separate WC & hand basin •Fully fitted kitchen with range-style gas cooker, fridge (with ice box/small freezer compartment), dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle etc •Living room with beach and sea views, dining table and pull out small double bed (large single) for extra guests (supplement charged) ); gas fire, TV/DVD, radio, CD player WiFi, games, magazines and books Leads onto a raised deck with sea and beach views, two outdoor chairs and small table Three steps down to grassed area alongside caravan with bench table/seating and parking for up to two cars On site laundry, payable on site - uses 50p coins; iron and ironing board free to use. The caravan can comfortably accommodate 4 people. For additional guests using the pull out sofa a supplement will be charged. If the weather takes a turn for the worse, there are throws, blankets and cushions to curl up in, magazines and books to read, candles for romantic suppers and a selection of DVDs, music and board games. There is outdoor furniture for al fresco dining and soaking up the sun. Smoking is not permitted and no pets are allowed. Visitors comments "your caravan is absolutely wonderful, relaxing, interesting, clean and the sea view lovely" "the caravan is very nice, cosy, homely, lovely" "the ideal place with the beach and sea so close, and as a base for touring the area" "we walked into your caravan and said "Wow" as it is so nice" The caravan is located at Caister-on-Sea, approximately 4 miles north of Great Yarmouth. It is sited at Elm Beach Caravan Park, which is a small, select, 4 star site that prides itself in offering a safe, peaceful and friendly environment where you can recharge your batteries and "chill out". There are no entertainment facilities, such as pubs, shops and recreation areas at this site. However, these are available at neighbouring parks within easy walking distance. It is also just a short walk into the centre of Caister, with shops take-aways and restaurants. Area We bought the caravan on a whim, after visiting the Norfolk Broads and ending up at the coast. As we stood on the beach it started snowing - it was magical. We thought how nice it would be to own one of the nearby caravans, just a few yards away from us, with amazing views of the sea. And that is how we ended up buying our beachside retreat. Despite visiting many times over the past 9 years, we are still amazed by how much this area has to offer, and how much more there is to discover. Whether you enjoy walking, sailing, fishing (directly on the beach), cycling, wildlife, photography, painting, shopping in the city of Norwich, the thrills of a seaside town, child friendly activites, or just watching the world go by, there is something to suit everyone. BOOKINGS ARE GENERALLY FOR A WEEK AT A TIME AND OUR BOOKING CALENDAR NORMALLY RUNS SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. We can offer a discount on a second full weeks booking..please ask. Out of season we may be able to offer a shorter break, but please ask us before booking - scroll down to bottom of page and press "contact host" button. The nightly rate will be slightly higher, but is inclusive of heating costs. Sorry no smoking and no pets allowed.
The caravan is located at Caister-on-Sea, approximately 4 miles north of Great Yarmouth. It is our own private caravan, sited at Elm Beach Caravan Park. It is a small, select, 4 star site that prides itself in offering a safe, peaceful and friendly environment where you can recharge your batteries and "chill out". There are no entertainment facilities at this site. However, there is are pubs, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. It is just a short walk into the centre of Caister. The area is ideal for a traditional beach holiday with children, picnics, sandcastles, ice creams... Often a small fishing boat brings in the catch and nothing is better than fresh fish straight from the beach! Alternatively if you enjoy fishing you can catch your own directly from the beach. The centre of the village of Caister-on-Sea is only a 5-10 minute walk, with supermarkets, a fish shop selling fresh fish, a butchers and a bakery for all your daily needs. There is a pub 100 yards away and a café at the end of the road as well as restaurants, pubs, take-aways (including Indian, Chinese and fish & chip shops or course!). Great Yarmouth offers old fashioned seaside fun for all the family. If you are feeling energetic, it is possible to walk there along the beach, (takes about an hour) or take one of the regular buses from Caister. There is a Pleasure Beach with rides suitable for all the family, as well as night clubs, casino and places to eat out. The Sea Life Centre and Time and Tide Museum are worth a visit. The Norfolk Broads are 5 minute drive away, from where you can hire a boat or canoe, or walk or cycle along footpaths and boardwalks. The area is wonderful for nature lovers. Rare birds such as the bittern, crane and marsh harriers can be seen, as well as the swallow tail butterfly unique to Norfolk. However, if you prefer a more sedate holiday, you can watch seals swimming in the sea, and even the occasional dolphin, as well as boats and people promenading - all from the comfort of your sofa! Norfolk is apparently one of the driest and sunniest counties in the UK. We have enjoyed many holidays with good weather at the caravan, when it has been raining at our home in Hertfordshire! Further afield There are quaint villages such as Holt, Burnham Market, and Cley next the Sea. Blakeney point has seal viewing trips. Towns on the coast worth visiting include Cromer, Wells next the Sea, Southwold and Walberswick. Norwich is apparently a great place for shopaholics! For food lovers, we can recommend The Swan at Ingham, mentioned in the Michelin Guide, and there are several pubs with good food, such as The Nelson Head at Horsey and the Fisherman's Return at Winterton on Sea. You can also observe seals on the beach - from a viewing platform near Winterton /Horsey. At Horsey you can visit the windmill and it is a great place to enjoy the sunsets. Some of the highlights:- -eating fish and chips on the beach -seeing a bittern, marsh harriers and a swallowtail butterfly at Strumpshaw Fen, and Titchwell Marsh RSPB centres - spotting seals and a dolphin swimming in the sea directly outside the caravan, from the comfort of the sofa - a thrill on the Big Dipper and Segway racing at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach - collecting "hag stones" (stones with naturally occurring holes through the middle) on the beach - canoeing for the first time along the Broads (a good test of a relationship!)
  • What a gem of a caravan! We had a great week and although the weather was pretty awful a couple of days, it was wonderful to sit and watch the waves rolling on to the beach. There is a great pub, Never Turn Back, just a few minutes walk away, that serves excellent food, ideal if you did not want to wonder far. The communication was excellent and the caravan was clean, all your cooking utensils at hand with lots of crockery too. We would definitely book again and really appreciated the homeliness of your home and the extra little touches. Kind regards Ilme & Lenny

  • Jo and Steve's seaside home is absolutely delightful. It is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy a relaxing stay. The wonderful interior design is a beautiful creative touch that really adds to a truly unique, home from home, holiday experience. The cosy, comfortable environment makes relaxation so easy. We had an amazing time and left feeling truly refreshed.

  • Fantastic location. Homely comfy caravan. The dishwasher is a little gem who wants to wash up on holiday. Quiet location, but near Yarmouth and other activities with a short drive.

  • Outstanding location and caravan with a very homely feel. Had a very chilled week with the kids playing on the beach nearly all the time- breakfast sitting outside watching the waves and wildlife. Easy self check in and check out - and a nice welcome pack on arrival. The caravan has everything you need. Lots to do in the area - have already booked to return.

  • The highlight of the chalet is an amazing view. It directly overlooks the beach with a completely uninterrupted view. It feels really peaceful. The chalet itself is clean and well equipped. We squeezed our whole family in (toddler and a baby) and were quite comfortable. We had a very relaxing stay and the kids loved the area, particularly Yarmouth. The communication was great and check in very easy. Thank you for the welcome pack - a nice tough. We’d consider staying again.

  • Brilliant place, my second time here, looking forward to going back, the view is amazing. Don't worry if the weather isn't that great, just enjoy the place, flick the fire on and relax with a cuppa or something stronger. Pub next door is called The Never Turn back was great, nice atmosphere and very friendly. Also worth taking a look around the Lifeboat museum just a little bit further down, that's where you find where the name of the Pub came from and why it is now the motto RNLI. Thanks again :)

    Eddie2019-06-15T00:00:00Z

Lovely little cottage for two in Blakeney near quay. Perfectly situated in centre of traditional village and near to great restaurants. The cottage has kitchen, sitting room, double bedroom with ensuite. Also private outside area
Good position near to Blakeney Point seal sanctuary. Wonderful walks. Great pubs and restaurants
Blakeney is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt coastal villages in England. The jewel of the Norfolk coastline it is full of traditional cottages and right on the coast, the traditional quay and mini beach are at the end of the road. The best beach in Norfolk, Holkham, is a drive of approx ten minutes along the coast. Lovely traditional seaside village with a traditional quay with boats coming and going, lovely walks along the salt marshes and coast, mini beach, great paddling, mini canoe hire for children. Crab fishing off the quay. The best beach is Holkham beach, very sandy and lots of space, sand dunes etc. This is to the left along the coastal road. Wells has a good beach as well and the village is nice for looking around. Going right along the Coast road are shingle beaches. Sheringham and Cromer. There is a pier at Cromer. Best shops are in Holt. Lovely old market town. There is a small supermarket in Blakeney within walking distance. Go down to the quay and turn left. Also a small variety of interesting shops. Places to eat within easy walking distance are two pubs child friendly, the Kings Arms and The White Horse. The Moorings for slightly more expensive meal, but they also do lunch and coffee. Two hotels that do food The Blakeney Hotel and The Manor, a lovely little cafe at the Methodist Church in the High St. for lunch and coffee, good value and children’s toys. Stately Homes to visit, Holkham Hall, Blickling and Sandringham. For a real treat Morton Hall, run by TV chef Galton Blackiston. In the summer you will find a caravan on the quay selling lovely crab sandwiches and also an ice cream shop near the quay. The harbour rooms usually have local bands at weekends. The village hall has antique fairs and there are often sales of crafts near the quay. The seal trip is a must. You can buy tickets at the bottom of the road.

  • We had a lovely stay at Veronica’s place, the location is perfect for exploring beautiful Blakeney. We booked very last minute and Veronica was very communicative and helpful. The accommodation was ideal for a weekend break being located right behind the deli for picking up breakfast supplies and a short walk to the local pub. Would highly recommend.

  • This was a snug fisherman's cottage that had been lovingly restored and tastefully furnished. It was convenient to stroll into Blakeney and had a very interesting deli just in front, which had a good mix of luxuries, like chocolate croissants and lots of local Norfolk produce. There was a great selection of wine, beer and locally sourced cordon bleu microwave meals which were definitely not your supermarket variety. Local parking was convenient and cheap. The rooms were a bit on the tight side for a 6 foot 2 man but had been laid out well to maximise use. The kitchen had pretty much everything you would need and it was a fun experience to stay in the cottage. It reminded me of many holidays spent locally as a child. Thank you Veronica. It's always impressive to see how many practical and tasteful touches have been thought of.

A pet friendly brick and flint cottage in the heart of Happisburgh on the Norfolk coast. The Gig House is perfect for summer breaks or winter escapes alike and is ideally located just 10 minutes from a glorious sandy beach.
The Gig House sleeps: 2 adults and a baby/toddler. We welcome pets - up to 2 large or medium dogs or 3 small dogs, 2 cats and any pet in a cage - and charge £25 per dog or cat per visit. We live across the courtyard and, hopefully, will be there to welcome you and to deal with any questions or requests at any time during your stay. It is located in one of Norfolk's most picturesque coastal villages. The village itself is now famous for the oldest evidence of human activity outside of Africa with footprints discovered on the beach to be over 900 thousand years old. The cosy local pub, within 50 yards of the cottage, echoes the local connection with Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle who visited many times and wrote one of the detective mysteries here. There is also a small shop and post office in the village. In fact the local villagers will proudly boast of the number of other illustratrious visitors who have been drawn to this unique place from Robinson Cruso author Daniel Defoe, cricketer W.C. Grace, sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, poet John Betjeman, writer PD James and even the Queen Mother once arriving by helocopter to visit a cousin who lived in the village. The village is a must for those who enjoy the English countryside and its beaches in all seasons. Parking is in the courtyard or on the very quiet lane outside the house. Bus stop 20 m from Albion Cottage but with an infrequent country service. Train station 7 miles away. All week long bookings start on a Saturday and short breaks start on a Monday or Friday, except at Christmas. We do not accept short breaks (less than a week) at peak times (school holidays). Out of season we can be more flexible with length of stay and start day. If you have a larger party this property can be booked in conjunction with Albion Cottage at a special rate (property also on Airbnb).

  • Beautifully designed cottage, very lovely touches including the delicious scones. Liz is super helpful and really knowledgable about the geology and archaeology of the area. A wonderful stay!

  • A lovely little retreat to stay in a lovely village in Norfolk. We loved the thoughtful touches which included fresh flowers and scones with cream and jam. A cozy place just right for two people and a dog. It was very well equipped, very clean and had homely touches. Located in a quiet village, a quick walk to the sea.

    Helena2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cosy stay. The house is small but for two adults, a 6month year old and a big dog, we had plenty of room. Small kitchen with everything you need. Bedroom was warm and cosy and bathroom was really nice and very clean. Location was great. A five / ten minute walk to the beach and easy drives out to the main areas. Very quiet little village with local shops about a ten minute drive away

  • Cosy little spot. Walking distance to the beach & pub. Would love to return in the summer.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Such a lovely home with thoughtful touches. Liz gave us some tips on the local area meaning we got to see seal cubs on the beach, experience great walks and enjoy good pub food. Would definitely recommend!

  • A lovely stay in this quiet, cosy location only a 10 minute walk from Happisburgh beach. A lovely base from which to explore the Norfolk countryside and to then retreat to at the end of the day. A lovely space with nice touches such as scones and clotted cream on arrival, fresh flowers and spare blankets. It was easy to find and somewhere we loved spending time. Would recommend it to anyone!

    Adam2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Gig House is a splendid place to spend a few days. Cosy, and with everything you could want for break from the everyday. It sits in the lee of the huge Happisburgh church tower and is close by to a very good pub with excellent food. The beach is a short walk away and there are any amount of footpaths. We saw great flocks of birds passing overhead at dusk and great skeins of wild geese coming in from the sea in the mornings. Lots to do in the general area, but a nice quiet traditional village to come back to! The Gig House is clean and attractively furnished, Liz, the owner was welcoming and eager to make our stay a success. We’d thoroughly recommend it as a base to explore the area or just as a bolt-hole from the pressures of the daily round.

Situated just outside Winterton-on-Sea in the hamlet of East Somerton next to picturesque ruins of St Mary's Church, Old Church Barn is a stunning barn conversion with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. With a footpath just outside the cottage, it's just a 10-15 minute walk from Winterton beach or a 2 minute drive. Old Church Barn has two bedrooms (one is downstairs with an ensuite) and an upstairs bedroom with a second bathroom. Downstairs there is a large living room with a smart TV and woodburner, and doors leading to the rear patio. The well equipped kitchen is a cook's delight and includes two ovens, an electric hob, a microwave, integrated fridge, freezer and a dishwasher. There's a dining area with seating for four people. The downstairs bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, TV and ensuite bathroom with a shower, wash basin and WC. Upstairs on the mezzanine level you'll find the second bedroom which has a standard double size bed. Please note the headroom in this bedroom is restricted. There's a second bathroom containing a bath with a shower over it, wash basin and WC. Opposite the second bedroom is a dressing room or chill out area with bean bags which also has restricted headroom. Outside there's an enclosed patio area to the rear, and the front garden is also enclosed with a small lawn (the garden has been fenced and enclosed since the pictures were taken). The outhouse contains a Belfast sink with hot/cold water as well as the washing machine. Old Church Barn has free wifi and off road parking for two cars. Up to two dogs are welcome at Old Church Barn by prior arrangement.
  • Great stay at the barn for the weekend, it's a beautiful place with lots of space and plenty to do in the area. The guest book provided loads of useful information on the best beaches to visit and we loved both the local and the seal beach. Lovely extra touches of fizz, biscuits and crisps on arrival too

    Jessica2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay - location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach. The recommended walks in the book were great! Will definitely be back to Winterton.

    Megan2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything written in the description is 100% accurate. Beautiful property , great location . Looking forward to returning

    Christine2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved loved loved this barn. We’ll most definitely be back. This place was perfect for dogs - lovely enclosed garden in front. And they even supplied a box of dog towels. The bars itself was immaculate and very stylish. And the local advice and tips were brilliant! Five stars from us.

    Andrew2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic barn in a very beautiful spot, walking distance to a gorgeous beach. It was the perfect house to come back to after chilly walks. Couldn’t have asked for more, and have already recommended it!

    Sarah2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • A perfectly located and beautifully equipped house with a short walk to the beach. A dog walkers paradise! Hopefully we will be back again soon

    Dan2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four, along with our small dachsie, had a fantastic five-day stay in this stylish holiday home, which exceeded our expectations in every respect. Perfect for lazy days indoors, offering all mod cons, beautiful decorative touches, attention to detail and thoughtful touches - down to the torch for late-night digestive walks after dinners prepared in the perfectly equipped kitchen. An ideal location to get away from it all! We enjoyed the lovely walk to the beach and to the nearest pub, along with plenty of excursions detailed in Rachel’s guest information booklet. We look forward to returning to this cosy and idyllic gem at some stage soon. One of our favourite Airbnb experiences in the UK!

    Kristina2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the barn. It's really nicely finished inside and out. Great to be able to take the dog and an easy walk down to the beach. Always nice to have a log burner too, even if it's not really needed. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Three bedroomed period cottage close to quay in the lovely unspoilt village of Blakeney With a lounge diner with open fire, fully fitted kitchen and laundry room, a double, twin and treble bedroom, close to the Blakeney Point seals!
Blakeney is such a lovely unspoiled part of the British coast, with its timeless charm, beautiful scenery and lovely walks, it makes a holiday or short break a pleasure. The cottage is in the heart of Blakeney, not far from all the lovely places to eat and unusual shops.
We love the walks along the saltmarshes, Holkam, beach, ten minutes drive along the coast and the best beach in Norfolk. Cromer pier. Crabbing on the quay. Walking to see the seals at Blakeney Point, or taking a boat trip. Eating at the Mooring Bistro, in the same road. The observatory at nearby Salthouse. Cookies for an inexpensive seafood meal. The two steam engine lines and Thomas the tank engine for children. The sea museum and the shell museum. Nearby Holt with all the antique shops.
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. It is in an ideal spot for walking to all the village amenities and the gorgeous Norfolk Coast Path. In the house we found everything we needed for our stay and more, it is beautifully decorated and furnished, with all mod cons. Veronica is a great host - any queries we had were answered extremely promptly. I'd highly recommend this cottage, we will be back soon!

    Amy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is lovely, and well equipped. It is cosy. We were 6, 3 adults and 3 children, and it was perfect for our stay. There isn't a lot of spare space, so it might have been tricky if we had been 7, for example, for fitting around the table at mealtimes. All in all we had a really lovely stay, and would definately go again. The cottage is perfectly located, and Blakeney is a really lovely village. The coast is beautiful. We had some lovely walks.

  • Great cottage, good location to explore Blakeney. Enjoyed crabbing and mucking about in the water.

    Caroline2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely little cottage. It has everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The stairs are very steep - particularly to the third bedroom so probably not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. However, it made a lovely base for exploring the local area and we enjoyed our stay.

  • A great place to stay if you are visiting Norwich. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very quiet. It is in a great location to walk into the city either up the main road or along the river. There are lots of amazing places to eat and drink relatively nearby in the city. I would heartily recommend visiting Norwich and staying at this apartment in particular.

Forget-me-not Cottage has been refurbished in February. It is a lovely cottage, very cosy and relaxing. It has all the things you could need for a holiday very close by. We are dog friendly at the cottage and welcome your pooch. The cottage will be cleaned thoroughly before your stay. We have buckets and spades for you to take to the beach to make the perfect sandcastle - you’re never too old to make a sandcastle :-) please do not hesitate to contact me for further details.
The cottage is 5 minutes away from the beach, Hunstanton golf club and The Neptune, a Michelin star restaurant (booking required). Also close by is Titchwell for bird watching. Sandingham is a 10 minute drive away. Petals Tea Rooms is great to stop off at for afternoon tea or a cuppa and a slice of cake. Also in Hunstanton Town, which you can walk to is a swimming pool and another lovely beach with arcades and a funfair. 2 minutes walk away is the local, The Lodge, which offers lovely meals and a great beer with garden. There is a play park directly over the road from the cottage and a local shop which offers fresh croissants and other delicious treats.
Old Hunstanton is the place to be. There are leaflets at the cottage to let you know of the many places nearby to visit. I can also advise you further if you would like details
  • This is a lovely cottage with everything you need, in a perfect location. North Norfolk is really special for birdwatchers in winter, so it's great to have a warm cosy cottage to come home to, dogs and all. It's literally seconds away from open fields, pubs and a Michelin starred restaurant, but with everything you need to be fully self-catering. And the beach is only a few minutes down the road.

  • The cottage was perfect for our stay in Old Hunstanton. We visited with our 2 young children and dog. It had everything we needed, high chair, travel cot and plastic kitchenware. The cottage was very clean and beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed visiting the beach, lifeboat station, beach cafe, pirate playground and local pub.

    Roger2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely child and dog friendly cottage in a great location. Local pub (literally next door) was excellent, also had a really nice meal at the Rose & Crown 10 mins away. A perfect weekend getaway!

  • Cottage is beautiful and has everything you would need. Great for walks in the beach for you and dogs. The location was perfect for walking around exploring. We went to The Lodge bar and restaurant, the food was lovely and the setting nice, they also allow dogs in there so perfect for us! Definitely recommend!

  • Comfortable stay loved being so close to beach. Lovely local restaurants. Great communication from owner. Will definitely return.

  • We loved staying at Forget me not cottage. It was perfect for our little family (including Mabel the dog)! The cottage is very dog-friendly with Old Hunstanton beach a 5min walk away with miles of wide sandy beach for Mabel to run on. The lodge pub is also very convenient....a mere 2 min walk from the courage with excellent service & food. We really enjoyed our stay & will book again if we go back. Other local tips - Gin Trap Inn in Ringstead - food was great & has a choice of over 100 gins! Burnham Market worth a drive out too for a selection of pubs & restaurants.

  • The Seaside Escape is a nice small bedsit, very private and comfortable. We did not have the pleasure to meet Ian but he has been exceptionally good in organising everything and quick to respond to any queries. Location was very convenient for the seaside, small supermarket and two pubs within walking distance!

    Evie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely evening at Ian’s place.... it’s spotlessly clean, cosy, stylish and in a great location for the sea... it’s literally round the corner from the back garden. We stumbled upon the restaurant at the Hog Hotel (which is a 5 min walk away from Ian’s) and the 1kg sharing rib eye was mind blowing! A blustery walk along the beach this morning cleared all the cobwebs away and left us refreshed and ready again to face our hectic lives in the city! Thanks for the great hospitality, would definitely stay here again.

  • The Seaside Escape is an absolute gem of a place to stay if you need somewhere quiet and peaceful to return to at the end of the day. It’s stylish, modern and the host clearly cares about his guests. If you’re considering this place you won’t be disappointed!

We plan to open again on the 14th April for sensible guests to book. Stiltz has always been a place many of our guests never leave, so get away and never see anyone else in our exceptional holiday home. Stiltz is dedicated to love and romance, connect with that special person, get away and focus on each other with hot tub and surrounding decking has uninterrupted views of the valley, walk in 350 acres of woodland without meeting anyone. A luxury kingsize four--poster-bed a woodburner.
The impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on our guests and our properties. We care deeply about your safety, whether you are at home or traveling. With this in mind, I would like to share some actions we are taking to help you make informed decisions about your stay or plan to stay with us. A major benefit for us is that we are very rural, and you never need meet anyone during your stay here. Most guests travel by car and we provide private and isolated guest car parking. And within the vast Woodlands and Heaths that back onto the properties, it is very rare to meet other people, and if people are walking their dogs, it is easy to see people approaching from a distance and to go in other directions. For the interim, we have removed all sauces and condiments, tea bags and aromatherapy oils for the hot tubs at both rentals. We will still provide a large portion of coffee beans for the coffee machines in a resealable container (kept in the fridges) which is replaced between guests, so these items you will now need to bring for your own personal use. Stand down day. We have now implemented an additional 24 hours between guests arriving and departing our properties. This is for two main reasons, one, it allows our hot tubs to be drained completely, and two, for us to carry out a full deeper clean, bleaching all surfaces in between all guests. Our cleaners have been advised/reminded on how to thoroughly clean our properties, and have been provided with additional cleaning solutions to ensure this is correctly carried out. This will double the time they spend cleaning our properties, however, we are determined to always continue to improve our excellent hygiene standards. We would also ask that all our guests please also follow government guidelines on hand washing and daily hygiene to ensure we are all working together to avoid this virus. What you can do to stay healthy Whether you’re at home or traveling, the WHO recommends practicing good hygiene to protect yourself against infection — by washing your hands frequently with soap, so we provide hand soap in our properties, we will provide correct strength alcohol-based sanitizer, if it is available for us to buy then we will provide it, but advice is soap and water with robust scrubbing is more effective. The advice of maintaining distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing, and avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth. So as a precaution we do not plan to meet any guests from now on during your stay, during check-in or check-out, key boxes ( we use anti bacterial treatment between guests on all key boxes) allow you to enter the property and leave with out the need to meet us. Airbnb now are changing cancelation policy and cancellation charges are being updated so guests do not lose out, please check regularly the site for details and you have any problems with COVID-19, we would prefer that you do cancel if your circumstances change, and if we have any problems then you will be notified via the app. We understand as this situation rapidly evolves, we know there is an atmosphere of uncertainty as travellers wonder if they should change their plans and we will do all we can to help with regular information. We have had some fantastic reviews, and we attract guests hunting for what we offer, therefore we want to be clear on what you can expect so you can then have the very best experience and therefore Stiltz can not be suitable for everyone or all tastes, it is very rural and designed for couples wanting to get away from it all. Stiltz has been compared to tree house and would not suitable for every one, so Stiltz is not suitable for guests as the Home access is ONLY by steps and the decking can be slippery when wet, and so please DO NOT BOOK, with children, or Older or limited mobility or Disabled guest, but our other property the lodge is child and Disability friendly and sleeps up to four or five and you can also book via Airbnb. Stiltzs is a building surrounded by decking and is on stilts as it is built on the side of a hill. It is only accessible ONLY by STEPs on both sides as pictured, the retreat has dual aspect decking, allowing you to maximise sun and shade from dawn till dusk, with the best uninterrupted views of the valley and 12 acres of meadows which surrounds our hot tub. This has been perfect for couples wanting a special break away. We have done all we can to make it as comfortable as possible, the luxury inside, alongside the pleasure of watching the sunset with a glass of bubbly at any time of the year from the warmth of the hot tub is something special that a photo cannot capture! The only better experience is that, on a clear night, you can lay back in the hot tub under a canopy of stars, which is something our guests have been amazed by and loved! As the decking is on different levels, we would not recommend it for infants, please do not ignore this advice as it is for your safety! For the same reasons, it is also not suitable for anyone who has mobility issues or disabilities, and again best pick the lodge, also with so much decking if it gets wet, care also needs to be taken for all our guests, and again, some more elderly guests would not find it practical to stay at Stiltz either. It is especially designed for couples looking for a romantic brake from the bustle of everyday life, curling up in front of a roaring fire with that special someone. We are miles away from the nearest village, and access is via an unmade track. Also some mobile providers also have poor coverage in our area too, it is rural with a capital R, so if fast broadband is a must have for your stay, then our location is not for you! The lodge is located with access to 600 acres of heathland and woods close to the leisure area called Top Farm, but Stiltz is completely separate and the field to the south-west has caravans and the field to the south-east has camping pitches, also the camping area can be used for Weddings in the summer and the area becomes busier in the School Summer Holiday periods, however, there is no access to the field around Stiltz, it is totally private, and all the facilities, including the hot tub, are for the exclusive of our guests during their stay and is tucked away from view. However, it’s charm can be felt in the Autumn and Winter months, the area is so quite and it feels like you are the only people for miles around! From the bedroom you can see the same views through triple glazed windows and, when you wake, relax in the luxury ash grey four poster bed, on a mattress which has over a 1000 individual pocket springs with deep, luxury fillings, this is a hand tufted mattress to give optimum support for a peaceful night’s sleep. We provide high quality and fresh bed linen for all guests, with luxury soft pillows and duvet. Many of our guests have said that, when combined with a couple of hours in the hot tub, it has made for the best night’s sleep they’ve had in years! (We also provide, free of charge, lavender, raspberry and other scented oils for use in the hot tub). We built Stiltz for relaxing in, and it is ideal for guests who want to stay somewhere a bit special. Our happiest clients seem to be couples who want to get away from it all, but not to scrimp on comfort! The french solid oak flooring in the bedroom steps you into the travertine stone floor of the ensuite, with shower, basin and toilet, with soft deep towels provided, or your robes provided for the spa. The en suite is clad in hand cut timber painted with soft eggshell. From the shower room step into the lounge, with a deep four-seater, grey, leather sofa, to curl up on for a cosy night in front of the contemporary wood burner, with the option of watching the Panasonic 40" Smart TV, with Freeview TV, DVD player and selection of DVD's. It is unlikely you will feel either too cold or, too hot, as the building is super insulated, but the 5 kilowatt state of the art Scandinavian wood burner can make the place very hot quite rapidly. (The manual has details on its operation), and with a flick of a switch the warm aromatic air can be pulled through into your bedroom. We provide all wood and kindling free of charge for your stay, as it is a must for our winter guests! You can exit the lounge stepping onto your personal decked areas on both sides of Stiltz via sets of double patio doors. To the sun deck or covered breakfast area, all areas can be again fully lit in the evenings. The dining table separates the lounge from the kitchen area, and you will find DAB radio and an Ipod dock for visitors’ use. Both the lounge and kitchen have white bespoke New England adjustable shutters for maximum privacy and shade. The kitchen is well equipped with all your home comforts, seasoning (Tuscan, Italian , French, chilli and others) plus your own top of the range bean to cup coffee machine (Instructions to be found in the manual), also find complimentary fresh coffee beans kept in the fridge for your use also. Dishwasher, toaster, blender and kettle are also provided. Instant coffee and a selection of twelve types of tea bags from herbal to Earl Grey are complementary . Also, all necessities, i.e. dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and cleaning products. The cooking area has a ceramic hob, extractor fan and a large separate combination microwave/grill/oven (Instructions in the manual), also commentary cooking oils, balsamic vinegar, sauces, herbs and spices. To brighten up our kitchen we have a fun, bright orange, retro fridge-freezer and on top you have your very own ice machine. We even provide a full set of condiments, ketchup, mustard, chilli, tabasco and much more! At the end of the kitchen you can exit on to a further decked balcony via the third set of patio doors. This time, the deck has a glass roof, and you can step out onto the sun deck with sun loungers ready surrounded by a glass balcony, so as not to spoil your view! From there you can step straight into the spa, which is level with the deck. With external down lighters outside the north facing glazed wall, these, and all the extensive external lighting, are controlled from the door by the bedroom, which leads you on to the decking. The framed edge of the decked balcony is also lined with stainless steel handrails and cabling. The hot tub is a Catalina XL21000, with twin loungers so you can lay back. It seats five comfortably, and with three pumps and a heated blower the 64 stainless steel jets should not miss a spot delivering the ultimate relaxation. However, if you wish to chill in this idyllic country setting, then pop up the built in speakers, and turn on the CD player, with topside controls from within the tub, or plug in your phone or iPod to listen to your own playlist, and at night you can always turn on the tubs own underwater LED lights. On the decking next to the hot tub are two padded rattan chairs and table, perfect for breakfasts, and a bistro set with low chairs and a table perfect for evening prosecco. Our guests can enjoy their evening with subtle light from blue up lighters on the deck (for safety, champagne flutes, tumblers and wine goblets provided are polycarbonate for use in the hot tub). The decking area can also accommodate hammocks provided, the area to the south has a corner rattan sofas and large table with a 3.5m Anthracite Overhanging Parrassol, and the picnic table and seats with brolly. Additional shade can also be introduced by raising both the three metre sails. This decked area is ideal if you wish to fire up the three burner gas BBQ (Full set of tools provided for BBQing), and with the down lighters in the evenings along the soffit, create a perfect area for relaxation. Beyond this decking is a gravel courtyard, framed with willow fencing adorned with solar lanterns, this area too has a bistro set of chairs and table on the stones safe for those wishing to smoke. but if you fancy something funky one of the two moulded stools lights up, just select your Colour by remote control. If you hanker for straying a bit further in the outdoors, then down the stairs off the decking into miles of woodland walks (map on the wall of the 500 acres in total without crossing a road) or, venture onto the adjacent heathland on bikes, which we can organise hire for your stay if you would like? Even if you clock up the miles on your walk, you will be lucky to come across anyone else, but you will find miles more beautiful scenery without a house in sight. Just as with the views from the decking around Stiltz! We except guests with well-behaved pets, but we require information on your pet before we accept the booking. We want your stay to meet our high standards, and so, we like to change the water in the hot tub every week, but this takes more than 12 hours to empty, refill and get back to the correct temperature, therefore to allow this to happen, we do appreciate a prompt departure to allow us to be able to do this for our next guests. However, if we do not have guests arriving the following afternoon we are happy to be more flexible on departure times, so please just ask. Also, weekends are our most popular time for bookings, so we do discount week nights and longer stays! With only one bedroom Stiltz normally only caters for 2 adults maximum, however, we can also provide a fold away spare bed and the large sofa can be used as a single bed due to its size and comfort, as some guests have wanted to bring their children. However, as previously stated, we do not recommend toddlers or the disabled to stay due to the lodge layout and safety around the hot tub, steps and decking. The car parking space is covered by CCTV for security, but the CCTV does not cover the hottub and private Garden and decking areas. Please browse our pictures, although our guests (and us) don't believe they do Stiltz the justice it deserves!! Why not come see for yourselves!! We do ask for a minimum stay of two nights, this is because cleaning, inside and out thoroughly can take three to four hours. Also, the emptying, filling and regular maintenance of the hot tub has to be completed and returning it to operating temperature can take many hours. We always clean and flush the hot tub every week, and it is only for your exclusive use only during your stay.
We have had some fantastic reviews, and we attract guests hunting for what we offer, therefore we want to be clear on what you can expect so you can then have the very best experience and therefore Stiltz can not be suitable for everyone or all tastes, it is very rural and designed for couples wanting to get away from it all and some guests are disappointed as we do not have good reliable wifi, so during your stay if you can't live a couple of days without a stable super fast wifi connection then I recommend a city break, respectfully, we are in the "sticks" and would not want you to think otherwise. Also if you can't find the date you want or you want no steps and a flat entrance to the building then you can book "the Lodge" same features, all new and it can be more peaceful as at certain times the field next to Stiltz is hosted by the owners of the farm (not us!) for weddings and other events, and at these times Stiltz is normally booked for the bride and groom. So Stiltz is very quite 90% of the time but at busier periods music can be heard at these times, please ask if this a concern and we can check what's on and also the lodge is tucked around the other side of the farm so is more private and more enclosed if that is a must, please book the place that most suits your needs ! But most of all this is an ideallic and remote spot loved by all! You might want help with Bike hire, we can do that so it is all sorted, hats, lights and locks for your arrival, look at above guest access section it has full details, plus details on Tesco or Sainsbury delivery for when or before they arrive, just ask and we can agree the slot and order all your goodies to maximise your time in the Hottub or exploring the woods! Guests have commented that the pictures we post do not do Stiltz justice and we love that! We have gone to extra lengths on the detail, the mattress was one of the most expensive available and framed by a hand made four poster bed, the cost coffee machine would set you back a pretty penny, but it is not about how much we spend on the stuff inside and out. We keep the freshest coffee beans in the fridge for that perfect cup of coffee, Our cleaner spends 3-4 hours after every guest departure making sure it is spotless, we want you stay to be perfect and for us it has to be very clean, and that goes for the Hottub, we spend many hours after every guest, cleaning pipes, changing / cleaning filters, changing water and cleaning the tub and did I say fresh water, it is a major exercise as the hot tub takes an hour to empty, over two to fill, and it can take eight hours or more to reach the ideal temperature, so if we don't have time we can do a partial change, and a deep clean, as we look to to do a full change every week, not the two months as recommended by the manufacturer and as others do, on top and as a matter of course we balance the water condition twice daily, for us this has to be clean as, you would not want to share someone else's bath! We had our first guest propose in the Hottub in December, there are some occasions best remembered under a carpet of stars in a dark sky in water set to 103 degrees with a 4,500 bubbles per second, we set the seen as best we can, we do the detail so you can forget it! But we have had guests whom have spent till 5am in the Hottub and slept till 3pm, we do not do your normal week, if you live in Essex, Devon, London or Hertfordshire, you will have an experience designed to be far away from the routine and some time away from the buzz with someone special! Our guests can enjoy their stay, relaxing in the hot tub on the outdoor decked area, with commanding views over the peaceful North Norfolk countryside surrounding Stiltz Lodge, or BBQ on the decked area to the rear and lounge in a hammock!! We decorate in side and out at Christmas. If you are planning a special break then you we often surprise our guests with a complementary Bottle of prosecco on ice with glasses, that way your holiday can start the second you arrive and if it is chilly you will find a roaring waiting for you to toast your toes! If you are unsure read the reviews, or stay and be miles away from the daily graft and write your own story! We like our guests to enjoy their stay, some regular Airbnb guests and new to us have said Stiltz is the best place they have ever stayed, find out?
  • I think Stiltz may be one of my favourite places in the world! We stayed last spring for the first time and when we arrived a few days ago it was like coming home! It is the perfect place to be during all the chaos and uncertainty at the moment, it's such a haven of peace and calm. We had no concerns about staying during the Covid-19 pandemic, Paul and Chrissy are fantastic hosts and they got in touch in advance to let us know all the extra measures that they are taking to ensure the health of their guests. They really have gone above and beyond meaning that we could completely relax in the beatiful surroundings. I can't recommend Stiltz highly enough!

  • Stiltz is a fantastic place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet. It's sparkling clean, has fantastic amenities (my favourites were the coffee machine and the hot tub) and is great for dogs. The surrounding area is great for walks, and Chrissy and Paul's local knowledge is very helpful if you're unfamiliar with the area!

  • Amazing time here..... great host, great location

    Drew2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. Chrissy and Paul really have thought of everything you'll both want and need for your stay. Kitchen and lounge facilities are great, hot tub is an obvious highlight but the surroundings are great for the outdoorsy types. The hosts have also put together a really helpful manual for the local area for eating out, shopping etc. A great stay, would definitely recommend and would go back next weekend

The beach a mile from the harbour was named Sunday Times "Beach of the Year" in 2016 and it's not hard to see why. The wide open skies, the sense of freedom even on a busy day, the sweep of huts against the pine forest. Ask about our beach hut if you want to make your stay extra special. We have fantastic gastro pubs and cafes a short walk away (I can make recommendations) and great shops along Staithe Street. Or to find solitude and wildlife you don't have to walk far. Local OS map and walk books for use by guests.
  • We loved Zoe's apartment - it may be small but so well designed to make the best use of space and full of stylish touches. It's also very clean and comfortable and very close to the town, which has lots of great shops, pubs and restaurants. Zoe's information about the local area was really helpful as there's so much to see and do.

The bedroom area has a king-size bed with luxurious bedding, and the spacious bathroom has a large walk-in shower, heated towel rail and large mirror. It’s a delightful living space for a couple or solo traveller.
The historical towns of Bungay and Beccles are just 2.4 and 5.8 miles from the apartment, and for those who want to spend the day by the coast, the beautiful seaside town of Southwold is just a 30 minute drive away. There’s a real ale pub, which serves nice pub food, a mere 500-yards down the road and less than half-a-mile away is one of the best Italian restaurants you’ll ever eat at!
  • WOW!! This place is a real gem! Conveniently located to travel to many different areas. A lovely space. Clean, modern, fantastic hosts, very comfortable and homely. All you could wish for in an AIR BNB. We arrived to wonderful home baked goods, a bottle of prosecco on ice and a beautiful smelling candle lit. The hosts go above and beyond to provide an excellent service with lovely personal touches and fantastic attention to detail. We will definitely be back!

  • A gorgeous place, it felt like a home away from home. It was the perfect place for a little weekend getaway. I would recommend Goose’s place to anyone, and Joe made it even better than imagined. The small touches that were added were amazing. Thank you so much Joe.

    Lily2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was amazing and we are fully going to recommend a stay at Gooses place. The space is so stylish, and clean and for a small space Jospeh has made it feel roomy and there is all the space you need to enjoy yourself. The little touches like the milk in the fridge and the baked homemade treats made it special and set it apart from the rest. We really didn’t want to leave!

    Luke2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very well thought through accommodation. Spotless and modern with lovely little touches such as welcome pack and bathrobes. Joseph the host was very welcoming and always responded promptly before stay and I'm sure if we needed him during stay he'd be equally helpful. Definitely worth trying.

    Alison2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay, place was super clean, had everything you could want and more! Great location for chilling or exploring nearby towns and all the tips and help you could want!

  • If there was an award for greatest Air BnB ever this would win hands down! The reviews and the pictures don’t do this place justice (even though they are both incredible). Everything has been though of to make the stay so comfortable and relaxing! Cannot put into words what a wonderful time we had! Cannot wait to visit again in the summer! Thank you so much Joseph for everything (especially the knock on the door in the evening with a bottle of Prosecco!) You really made me an my girlfriend stay so special and memorable!

  • It is an amazing place to visit if you want to get away from everyday life. I turned my phone off for the whole time and enjoyed everything the place had to offer. The property itself has some great places to wander around and take in the beautiful scenery and wildlife. The Shepard hut was particularly wonderful, it's a luscious small space that was perfect for me and my partner. We couldn't recommend a stay somewhere more than this place! You will love it 😁

    Cassie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, simple and beautiful. Perfect get away for getting away from life for a while. Will come again in the summer x

  • Lovely clean and warm shepherds hut in a beautiful location. Lovely listening to the owls, and other wildlife in an evening. A hidden gem.

    Phil2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful. The cabin was very clean and cosy. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a little hideaway trip.

    June2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was AMAZING. Gorgeous little shepherd's hut, tastefully decorated and absolutely spotless. A bigger bed than I expected, sometimes the beds in shepherd's huts are diddy but my long-legged SO had no complaints. There was a wood burner inside the cabin that made the place really cosy when it got started. And the showers/toilets were heated which made the stay so much more comfortable, big thumbs up there. I liked the wood fired hot tub but at the time we went (right over Halloween) it took absolutely ages to heat up – the guide said up to 3 hours but it was closer to 5, and it was actually only really warm by that point, not hot, but we'd run out of patience so just decided to jump in. Stargazing in a hot tub is pretty nice, getting out into the freezing cold was not. Interesting though, we checked the tub the next day just to make sure we hadn't left leaves in and the water was still warm after what, 8-10 hours? So if the hot tub was in regular use I think it'd have been much less hassle to get it going. There was lots of info provided about local amenities, but for nature you don't have to go far as there's a forest right next to the cabin! Only had time to walk in there once but we caught sight of a pretty big hare and the tail-end of a deer, absolutely picturesque. All in all I'd love to come back again and would definitely recommend it to others!

    Amber2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful. If you want to have some time away from the world then this is your place. I have never been somewhere, where I’ve never wanted to leave. We had a beautiful welcome note which is always a great touch! We were provided with so much information in regards to the area and places to see, and places to eat etc. I made two new chicken friends who really made me and my boyfriend feel at home aha! It was nice to have company when washing up!😂 The walks, cabin, scenery and experience was out of this world! Thank you x

Bright, rustic, quaint: a self-contained and tranquil haven with views over the Norfolk countryside from sunny verandah. Kitchenette, microwave, gas hob; full-sized bath with shower head. Shared courtyard garden. Special mention...we have wonderful natural borehole water! Two lovely Vintage bicycles available to borrow. SPECIAL REQUEST: please can guests arrive between 2pm and 6pm on SATURDAYS. We are out later and like to see you in before we depart. Thanks.
A simple, cosy, tranquil space. Sunny verandah and little private place to watch the sun go down. Enclosed garden, ideal for children. Friendly cats, bats to watch at night, and maybe even the odd hen will come visiting...
The cabin is down a sandy track that leads to the river Thet with lovely views across the fields past an oak tree with swings. Very pleasant bicycling...close to Thetford Forest.
  • This is my second stay here and I absolutely loved it (again). The bed is so comfortable and the surroundings almost silent, except for the birds and the wind. I come here to study and write, and I get a huge amount done, but I also go home feeling rested and peaceful. I'm sure part of that is down to Robyn's home-made bread, which has magical properties. Thoroughly recommended.

  • Really nice cosy cabin, we spent a night here with my wife and loved it, definitely recommend it.

  • Beautiful , peaceful and quirky accommodation. Robyn was brilliant with communication and kindly set up and loaned us a travel cot for our baby. Delicious homemade bread and free range eggs along with other ingredients provided for breakfast. The cabin was certainly cosy and beautifully decorated with vintage and quirky items. Would absolutely love to return. Thank you!

  • Great place to stay although we stayed while a strom was in full flow, it just added to how cozy and warm it was to stay there. Looking forward to staying when the weather is a bit better.

Our cottage is a light-filled modern house built in 2006 down a country lane, views over open fields. 2 miles to the coast. Three double bedrooms. Garden. Cosy in winter. Stately homes and bird sanctuaries nearby. Only available weekly Sat-Sat.
  • Lovely, warm, well-equipped cottage in a great location. Easy walk across the fields to Cromer in one direction or to Felbrigg Hall in the other on the Weaver’s Way (or a 6.5 circular which was great.) Quiet, dark with wonderful night skies and lovely views. We’ll be back!

    Helen2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect house for a family of four. Lots of space, very quiet; a lovely space for everyone to be in.

    Martin2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best things about this lovely cottage is it’s amazing location. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere you can actually walk from the door to loads of great locations - Felbrigg hall and the walks around its lovely estate, Cromer beach and the Amazona zoo. Or it’s a short drive to Sheringham, happisburgh and the stunning blakely nature reserve. We weren’t short of things to do but the house itself also provided a relaxing spot to hang out in with a lovely private garden and rooms that were almost all window. I can’t really emphasise the loveliness of the windows enough - by day it felt like you were actually in the expansive wheat field from the comfort of your bed and by night, with the curtains down, the effect was like being in a luxurious tent, without any of the downsides of actually being in a tent. Eileen was a great host, good about communicating, and the house was full of lovely things that made it feel like you were in a real home rather than a holiday cottage. There were also lots of nice touches that helPed keep the kids entertained - board games, a rope swing, buckets and spades etc. Finally, the kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials you always forget and, as an added bonus, there was an amazing collection of books if you’re into that sort of thing. I’d love to go back someday!

  • This was our second stay at Hobby Cottage. We had another fabulous week. The cottage has everything we needed for the adults and our two year old granddaughter. It is in a beautiful secluded location but only 10 minutes away from supermarkets etc. It is ideally placed for all of North Norfolks coastal and inland attractions. Eileen is a wonderful hoast, helpful and quick to respond. We are already thinking about our next stay.

    Alan2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely modern property in a tranquil location. A great base for country walks and easy access to the coastal towns.

    Stephen2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Hobby Cottage. Like a lot of other reviewers, we found that the cottage was even better than described. If you are a keen walker, then the location will be perfect as it is on a well marked walking route which takes you to the coastal path or in land. The house is extremely well equipped and offers great views over the quiet fields surrounding it. Very highly recommended!

    Paul2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Hobby cottage is the perfect family holiday home. We all felt at home within minutes. The location is great, close enough to Clover to enjoy the sea side but set in the countryside with amazing views from the bedrooms and lounge. The bay windows makes you feel like being outside all the time!

    Amanda2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay! The cottage was just as described and the village was lovely. Great pub just a short walk away and great dog walking routes along the salt marshes. Perfect base for exploring. Would definitely recommend to others! Just be warned of the road... It can get quite busy but we didn't find this a problem.

    Shelley2019-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing few days in Fox Cottage. The accommodation is beautiful, cosy, and homely: we fell in love with it and really enjoyed sitting in front of the log burner during the blustery evenings. Stiffkey is a lovely place. We regularly visit the North Norfolk coast but this was our first time in the village and it was perfect for accessing the salt marshes and coastal part. The Red Lion pub is just a few minutes walk from the cottage was really hospitable with decent food and a nice selection of gin. We would definitely stay at Fox Cottage again.

  • Such a stunning stay. The photos don’t do it justice! The lovely detail and cosy touches in this stay made our trip very special. Nice and quiet and exactly what a get away is made for. Nice small village with a local shop and The Fox Pub nearby which we did not need as we utilised the stay to have some delicious home cooked food with the fire on. Norwich city centre a 30 min drive, and coast places also only a 30 min drive. Overall lovely place to relax and so ideal for winter months. Want to visit again already!

    Chloe2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely retreat especially in the cold weather! A nice bottle of wine added a special touch on arrival and the log fire made it feel cosy. Just be careful when following directions straight from the Air BnB app as we ended up on a neighbours property instead at first

    Leanne2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and cosy! We loved our stay. Our pup enjoyed snuggling in his bed by the wood burner, when we finally got it going! (We’re townies!) Perfect little base for a couple of nights. Had dinner at The Fox the first night, nice food, staff were lovely, booking recommended, it’s only a 2 minute walk, there are paths but it was very dark and muddy so bring a torch! We had coffee and cake at Lyng Stores the following morning, we sat outside as dogs aren’t allowed in but it was a lovely sunny day and was nice to see locals coming in and out of the shop, felt like a little hub of the community, everyone was so friendly saying hello as they passed us. Would stay again, thanks for having us and for the bottle of wine

Dine on BBQ grills in the Moroccan-themed covered sitting area, and in the 'winter months' stoke up the log stove and break out the board games for a night in. This self-contained space is decorated in a tasteful nautical theme, and includes a large walk-in shower room. Coronavirus: In order to mitigate the risk of infection we have introduced a new cleaning regime. We now undertake a sanitizing deep-clean using disinfectants on all surfaces including the floor and kitchen worktop, dining table and chairs, door and cupboard handles, tv remote, taps, loo light switches and shower area.
Cosy Cottage is a self-contained converted outbuilding situated in a quite off-road location with access to the extensive gardens and summer house. It is decorated in a delightful beach theme throughout and features a double bedroom, lounge, well-equipped kitchen, dining area and large walk-in shower room. With an HD TV and DVD player in the cottage, you can cosy up on the sofa and enjoy a quite night in. There is also secure parking.
North Elmham is a friendly village in the heart of Norfolk. Enjoy a cooked breakfast or light lunch at The Teapost, only steps away, and gastropub delights at The King's Head, 5 minutes' walk. The North Norfolk coast 25 minutes away is a must-visit.
  • It was an absolute delight to stay at Cosy Cottage. It has everything we needed and provided a wonderful base to explore Norfolk. The bed was extremely comfortable and the house was clean and cosy as the name would suggest. John and Linda were extremely welcoming and very helpful! The cottage was lovely and peaceful and provided the break that we were hoping for. We would completely recommend Cosy Cottage!

    Mollie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful cottage and we had a lovely relaxing break. It lives up to the name with the log burner adding something special. The hosts were lovely and gave us plenty of privacy.

  • We had a fantastic stay with John & Linda! Very friendly and welcoming, made sure we had everything we needed and gave great advice on places to visit! Cottage was very cosy, with a beautiful coastal theme. Bed was very comfortable, big walk in shower, tv has Netflix and the log burner is just amazing this time of year! If we are in the area again we will definitely look to stay with John & Linda again! Thank you both for a great stay.

  • Our first time using Air B&B Plus. We found the cosy cottage very well presented and styled. Really enjoyed our time there. The summer house was cosy even in the winter gales. Enjoyed the log burner. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The local pub was great and they serve an outstanding steak pie.

  • John and Linda's cosy cottage is the perfect place for a cosy, romantic weekend away! The cottage has everything you could wish for and the most comfortable bed ever! John and Linda are the perfect hosts, they went the extra mile on the small details that made our stay perfect and they gave us the best recommendations for places to go and eat, Thank you John and Linda!

    Carey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Cosy Cottage. Hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming with all the things you need for a great stay including recommendations for day trips and the best local pubs.

    Harriet2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed in the Cosy Cottage 24-26th January. When we arrived, we followed all the instructions John & Linda left us and opened up to a beautiful little cottage. The house itself is so clean, well maintained and decorated so well, and the attention to detail makes staying here so worthwhile. When John & Linda got home, they greeted us and helped us with the wood burner, which we absolutely loved the entire weekend. Every time we had a question, nothing was too much trouble and they are the best hosts! We literally stayed in all weekend, watching the complimentary Netflix in front of the fire. The cottage is so romatic for a couple's weekend and on the way back - on John & Linda's recommendation - we visited the beautiful Wells-Next-The-Sea. It was a perfect weekend!

A bright and newly refurbished apartment, sleeping 5/6 right in the centre of Blakeney close to quay and near lovely restaurants and shops. Blakeney is a historic coastal village with seals just off Blakeney point. A unique part of old England.
Really unusual, spacious and comfortable apartment which has small outside seating veranda
Blakeney is part of England that has retained its individuality and charm Lovely traditional seaside village with a traditional quay with boats coming and going, lovely walks along the salt marshes and coast, mini beach, great paddling, mini canoe hire for children.
  • The photos don't do this place justice. Veronica's apartment is clean, cosy, spacious & absolutely charming. There are some stunning quirky features reflecting the age of the building which we loved. Check-in was easy and everything we could have wanted was available in the apartment. Location wise, I don't think you can get much better. Just a stones throw away from the quay, downstairs there is a delicious deli (we had an amazing breakfast one day!) and all the best restaurants and pubs are on your doorstep. Shower was great - hot and good water pressure. We wholeheartedly recommend staying in Veronica's place - best bargain we've come across in a while. Thank you for hosting us!

  • This is a lovely 17th century cottage in the heart of Blakeney. Although car parking not available at the cottage there is car park very close by. Lots of lovely coastal walks and organised boat trips to see the seals. Would love to come back for a longer stay!!

    Karin2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Right on the High Street above the deli, yet not at all noisy, we had plenty of space to relax. The kitchen diner is spacious and very well equipped, plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils if you need to do your own meal. Nice comfortable sitting room, again spacious for 4/ 5 people. Two bathrooms meant there was no queuing for the shower. Wonderful open spaces in Blakeney, ideal if you enjoy quiet walks with nothing but birdsong, miles and miles of footpath to explore. A delightful village, very good places to eat and drink and lots to explore further afield.

Something for everyone's taste. Please do not hesitate to ask for recommendations as we will be happy to tell you about some of our favourite places.
  • We had a lovely stay, there were lovely touches such as milk in the fridge and towels on the bed when we got there. Thanks for letting us stay :)

  • Gilly’s place is very cosy and comfortable with a nicely laid out living room, stylish dining room with a fully equipped connected culinary area. Additionally, this space offers two modern bathrooms both equipped with showers and the bedrooms have cloud like mattresses ensuring a wonderful nights sleep. Would definitely recommend a stay here with the accommodation facilitating all our needs, with easy accessibility to local food outlets ranging from Tesco to Lidl, Subway to Nando’s and local fish and chips shops to Chinese takeaways promising nobody to be left with an empty stomach. Overall, would extremely recommend this place to anyone travelling to Norwich.

We have reduced the rate to just cover our costs to try to help anyone who needs a place to stay. Budget accommodation, we welcome families and groups from all over the world to our home in the comfortable suburbs of Norwich and just within the bounds of the Broads National Park. Full of books, toys, plants, art and instruments.
A quirky semi-detached house built in 1930. Light and airy with lots of stripped wood floors, rainbow colours and plants. It's a real home with all the things a family could need - including books and toys for children of all ages (we have 5 ourselves!). Our cosy living room has a big TV with a Full House cable package, as well as Netflix - there's a even a Nintendo Wii. There's board games, plenty of books and musical instruments to for when you don't want any screens. The back garden is a riot of colour in June and July, with a lawn for lounging (sun loungers provided) and a patio for dining (outdoor seating for up to 10 people is provided). A well stocked kitchen with everything you need for real, actual cooking (we are so fed up of blunt knives, no salt and pepper and missing cork screws when we travel).
Quiet, civilised suburban area of Norwich. The road is quiet and residential. We're only 10 minutes drive from the airport or the train station.
  • Excellent and spacious place. Plenty of bedrooms. Living space and kitchen is a good size. Only one toilet so if you do fill the place up there will be a queue for a shower in the morning.

  • If you visit Joe's expect a house which is more like home. It had everything you could want and more. One of our party loved the musical instruments. Breakfast is as stated basic so if you want more and fresh milk take your own. Check in was easy and Joe wa very quick to answer our one query.

Get back to nature in style at this beautiful, peaceful woodland retreat, just one and a half miles inland from the popular coastal village of Weybourne. Liz's Lodge is a fabulously luxurious Scandinavian A-frame dwelling, set in a small copse within the secluded 'woodland village' of Weybourne Forest. Furnished in an elegant, contemporary style with great attention to detail, and clever use of space, the owner has created a very relaxed and comfortable environment, in keeping with its lovely, tranquil setting. The lodge has three bedrooms, one of which is downstairs, and two bathrooms. The stunning open-plan and light-filled living space has one totally glazed wall to take full advantage of the woodland scene outside. This is a superb place to socialise, as well as relax and take in the view - slide open the door and you can bring the outside in. On warm days you have a choice of two decked, glazed balconies, where you can enjoy some alfresco dining or just lie back, look at that great big Norfolk sky and listen to the birds! A little way down the hill is Weybourne Station, where you can take a ride back in time and catch the Poppyline steam train to either Holt or Sheringham. It's about a twenty minute walk down to the main village where there is a well-stocked village store, and a good pub serving food. The Coasthopper bus passes through on a regular basis all year round, and stops at all the coastal villages from Kings Lynn to Cromer. Liz's Lodge really is the perfect place to stay if you like to keep fit; there are some pretty woodland trails to explore from right outside the door, the National Trust's Sheringham Park and Kelling Heath are close by, and the North Norfolk coastal path is a short drive (or two mile walk) away. Guests can also enjoy complimentary membership at the nearby Woodlands Leisure Club, easily reached by car, or via the woodland footpath (about a mile), where there is a heated 25m x 10m adult pool, a children's pool, sauna, steam room, spa bath, gym and fitness suite, as well as beauty spa. Ground Floor: Entrance hallway With coat rack and sideboard. Stunning open-plan living space A spacious full height, light filled open-plan area with spectacular woodland views. Kitchen area With modern fitted units in a U configuration, offering plenty of storage space, work surface and breakfast bar to one side with three stools. There's a large freestanding fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, an integrated electric oven and microwave, and an induction hob with extractor above. The adjoining Dining area has a table with bench seating to either side. Sitting area With some striking Origami wall art, a three-seater sofa, a two-seater sofa, armchair, coffee and side tables, wide screen Smart television and DVD player. A large sliding glass door opens to the decked patio area. Cloaks/Utility room With storage cupboards, washing machine, tumble dryer, washbasin and wc. Master bedroom With a king-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables, lamps and hairdryer. En-suite shower room With large walk-in shower, basin inset into vanity unit, heated towel rail and wc. First Floor: An oak staircase leads to the upstairs landing. From here an external door leads out to the upper decked seating area. Double bedroom With a double bed with bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers, hooks with coathangers. Twin bedroom With full-size twin beds, bedside table, lamps, wall-mounted clothes hanging rack, and under bed clothes storage boxes. Family bathroom With bath and shower over, vanity unit with wash basin, mirror over, WC and heated towel rail. Outside: There are two decked areas with seating and lighting, which are enclosed by glass panels, safe for both children and dogs. The ground floor decked area has a gas barbecue and gate that leads into the immediate garden and woodland area beyond. There is parking to the side of the lodge with space for two cars. Additional Information Well-behaved dogs are welcome (a charge of £30/dog is applicable), but are requested to respect house rules, and should always be kept under control within the forest to avoid disturbing the wildlife.
  • A real hideaway in the woods with the birds and squirrels! The lodge was lovely and much bigger than we expected. All possible equipment in the kitchen to satisfy any budding chef and a lovely open family area for socialising. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are cosy and clean. We found the location was perfect for exploring the North Norfolk coast with most trips we made within 15/20 minutes of the lodge. Holt is a lovely little town with some superb shops and eateries. We went seal watching via Beans Boat Tours - well worth the money. Also the steam train from Sheringham to Holt was a good experience. We were v lucky with unseasonably bright and warm weather for February which all added to our stay. We’d definitely recommend it to others looking for a peaceful retreat away from it all but within an easy short drive from the coastal towns.

Discover a secret meadow and spend summers days in the heart of rural Norfolk with a thatched Iron Age round house as your living room with a Yurt as your bedroom. With wood burning stove and secluded location a perfect quirky retreat.
The most striking thing about the location is the Iron Age Round House, built in the traditional methods (but not all traditional materials!) set amongst living willow fences with a camp fire at its heart. Next to this is the yurt with the wood burning stove and bureau. There is gas cooking facilities in the Roundhouse and a large solar panel provides the electricity needs for running small items such as lighting and laptops, phone chargers etc.
The walks around this part of Rural Norfolk are beautiful. There is significant history to be found as Norfolk, and especially around here, Saxon Round Tower churches are common. Nearby Mattishall is also where the Mattishall Horde was discovered. Norwich is just 12 miles away and boasts an amazing Norman Castle and of course, Norwich Cathedral plus much much more.
  • Great experience!

    Nick2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful roundhouse and cosy yurt, hidden away in the grounds of a farmhouse.

    Simon2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fun, cute, relaxing. An excellent space with plenty to do. Would definitely stay again.

    Mike2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great fun, we'd recommend this as something different from the usual. Very warm welcome, then we were left to it, just as we wanted. Basic facilities, but then you know that already right? If you're fine with that (and we were), then you'll love this!

    Manjit2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay, despite forgetting our bedding! Our lovely hosts supplied us with some. We will definitely return

    Hannah2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience. I spent two nights at the Yurt with my partner and it was the best choice ever. We needed an escape from the city life and finding ourselves around the fire, looking at shooting stars, waking up with birds, frogs and squirrels all around was absolutely amazing. I totally suggest it!

    Marta2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, lovely people! Had a great experience :)

    Lauren2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place and location - this was camping with comfort! The bed was lovely and comfortable, and even over the hottest August bank holiday weekend on record the yurt was a comfortable temperature until about 8.30 - 9am (much later than if we'd been camping!). Sitting around the campfire in the evening with the fairy lights twinkling away was simply magical. My husband wouldn't have chosen such a stay in a million years (he's definitely not a camper!) but he also enjoyed it.

A truly special hideaway in a unique location within the walls of Holkham Park. The characterful, timber barn dates from 1880 and has been sympathetically renovated to provide a spacious, stylish and comfortable studio room with en suite shower, wood burning stove and garden. Within easy waking distance of Holkham Village, beach and NNR and the picturesque town of Wells-next-the-Sea. Continental style breakfast included. 3 night min stay July and August. 2 night minimum at all other times.
Large studio room with en suite shower room located inside the walls of Holkham Park - a truly unique location. Located in the garden of the owners home and surrounded by woods the sound of owls at night is common! Ideal for those seeking peace and tranquillity far from the madding crowds. Beaches and Holkham NNR within short walking distance as are several good pubs and restaurants and the town of Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham Village. It is a short stroll through woods and parkland to Holkham Hall.
Wells next the Sea is a charming and popular coastal fishing port on the north Norfolk coast and within short walking distance of the barn. The renowned Holkham National Nature Reserve is also a short walk and there are 4000 acres of parkland to cycle or walk through on the doorstep. It is a great place to relax and unwind - quite in the winter months and though the town gets very busy in July and August, the barn is secluded and far from the madding crowds!
  • This place is a perfect cosy escape from the city. We thoroughly enjoyed running around the park each morning, which is right on the doorstep, and setting the log-fire up each night. Perfectly located between Holkham and Wells next the Sea and we explored both and their beautiful coast in our short stay here. We'll be back, highly recommended.

Really quiet and peaceful with great pubs in walking distance and fantastic walks at Holkham Beach. Breakfast was provided each day and Johanna and team even did the washing up for you! Really great place to stay.

  • We enjoyed our weekend break and it was memorable due to it coinciding with a storm and extreme wind, but the log burner, once lit, kept the room cosy and welcoming. A fantastic location for Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham Hall.

  • A lovely stay. 😊 The cabin is much more spacious than we thought, plenty warm enough too, even in a few cold nights as our stay was in March. Sizeable kitchen area was great to make our own meals in. A very comfy bed too, with clean and warm warm shower. Terri was lovely and welcoming, providing a few nice touches with tea, coffee and some milk in the fridge when we arrived. Great location too with Co-op just over the road to grab essential supplies. Ideally located for strolling down into town, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of centre. We will be back soon 👌

  • Absolutely lovely place! Loved the extra touches with the fresh eggs from the chickens, the bread and croissants! Had everything we needed and the hot tub was the best part! Really enjoyed our stay and will be staying here again in the future!! Amazing hosts!!

    Allana2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place to relax and recover. The obvious jewel in the crown is the hot-tub, which doesn't disappoint, but everything else was perfect too. The kitchen is really well equipped which is a big plus for us, since we much prefer to cook ambitious things and eat in. The bed was super comfy and with the darkness and quietness made for a great night's sleep. Our only bit of feedback would be to have the heating timer on a little longer at this time of year - we found ourselves pressing the 1hr boost button a few times, particularly after making the 10 metre dash from the tub back to the cottage in the high Norfolk winds! Will definitely be coming back again in the future.

    Diggory2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clare's place is a very stylish and comfortable bolt-hole away from the world - beautifully appointed, everything you could possibly need, excellent location. Watching the stars from the hot-tub was a particular highlight but everything was great. Good comms, clear instructions, lots of good info - couldn't ask for better - thank you Clare!

    Alex2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Clare’s a great host the Diary barn is beautiful. Nice touches like milk, bread, OJ and jams on your arrival. Make sure to pre book hot tub we didn’t and missed out.

  • Lovely cottage, really up to date amenities. Gorgeous hot tub! When a problem occurred due to Storm Ciara, Clare sorted it out pragmatically and generously. Its in a great area with easy access to anything you could wish for including seals on the beach! Secure garden for a dog.

    Eppy2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • James and I booked to stay here after our wedding for a couple of nights. Clare was absolutely fantastic helping us to get booked in, keeping in contact before the stay and left us something to help us celebrate our marriage which was so incredibly thoughtful. The hot tub was amazing! We both loved being able to relax after such a busy day and took full advantage of this facility! The bed was super comfy, the bathroom was spotlessly clean as was the rest of the house. I literally have nothing to fault! Thank you again.

    Kelly2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great little getaway, clean and modern. Great connection with the host, will definitely be back! Thankyou for having us!

    Poppy2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend here! Really beautiful location, the cottage is lovely and the hot tub is AMAZING! All the little touches were very much appreciated, such as the continental breakfast and the robes and slippers for the hot tub! Clare was a brilliant host - really friendly and very welcoming, and on hand to sort any issues (even setting up an app to control the hot tub for us in advance as she noticed it had an issue with one of the buttons before we arrived - and even that was fixed the next day!). We'd 100% recommend this place for a relaxing getaway!

Oystercatcher is a charming, traditional two bedroom Norfolk fisherman’s cottage situated on the High Street just a short stroll from Blakeney Quay and all of the village amenities. Perfect for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life this property has been recently updated and now has all of the modern requirements required whilst retaining every bit of its coastal cottage charm.
Upon entering the cottage in to a long entrance hallway you will find the living room on your right with a lovely, comfy sofa, and arm chair perfect for snuggling up in front of the gorgeous wood burning stove. In the corner is a dining table that will comfortably seat four. Neutrally decorated and opened up to the kitchen, this room feels very light, airy and welcoming. From the living room, down a small step is the traditional, small but well-equipped kitchen which has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a fridge freezer. The kitchen is tastefully decorated and allows access back through to the entrance hall off which is the ground floor shower room and the door out to the wonderful enclosed courtyard garden which has a pretty table and chairs set, perfect for sitting and sipping a glass of wine on a warm sunny evening. Back inside and to the front of the house is the good sized double bedroom. Up the original, steep ‘Norfolk Winder’ cottage stairs from the sitting room is the large twin bedroom which looks out over the high street. This room has a good sized en-suite bathroom. There is a pull out bed that we can set up in the upstairs twin bedroom to sleep 3 guests. Extra charge applies.
Surrounding area Blakeney must be one of the most sought after coastal villages in North Norfolk. The whole coastal area, much of it owned by The National Trust, is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, attracting both sailing enthusiasts and ornithologists. The village retains a unique atmosphere with many of the old mariners’ and merchants’ houses remaining in its narrow streets with others tucked away in flint walled alleyways. The main street runs down to the Quay with its salt marsh and channels, with Blakeney Point beyond. There is a surprisingly wide selection of shops, public houses and hotels. A wider range of amenities can be found in the Georgian town of Holt, about 5 miles to the south.

  • Oystercatcher is a charming well sized cottage close to the centre yet very quiet. We always found parking outside and could easily walk to the harbour in 5 minutes. The cottage was very well stocked with everything, from corkscrews to a DVD player, enjoyed by the rustic wood burning stove. Michelle was an excellent host and was always quick to get back and help out with queries. We will certainly be going back, highly recommended.

  • Michelle fully deserves the title of super host and was attentive and helpful from the moment we booked. The cottage was clean, cosy and well-appointed and in a perfect location to explore the north Norfolk coastline. We enjoyed stunning beach walks, incredible wildlife watching and good pub grub all close by. Great winter mini break.

  • We had a great three day winter break in Blakeney. The house had everything we needed and is in a good location close to a lovely delicatessen, the White Horse pub and the quay. Michelle was very responsive and helpful. If it we’d visited in warmer weather we definitely would have enjoyed the garden!
