This is the sterling grove historical district, and the first neighborhood formed in the town. It was carved out of the charles mouton plantation which consisted of 300 acres. The district is full of turn of the century victorian mansions of plantation owners, doctors and mayors of the city from 1900 - today. It is located .5 miles from the downtown entrance on jefferson.
  • It definitely surpassed my expectations. Is a home away from home. They were great gave me my privacy. They were awesome about check-in times. Is very clean. And I would recommend it to anyone looking for a night away for cheap. It was very much worth the $25 I spent. So much so I ended up renting it three times back to back oh, I didn't want to leave.

  • There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful this airbnb is, from the hospitality of the hosts to the wonderful location to the clean, comfy, and stylish living space. We were less than a 5 minute walk from a bus stop, near tons of amazing restaurants, and enjoyed a nice, peaceful and lovely stay. I don't want to come back to New Orleans if I can't stay at Sisi and Fernando's loft!

  • We loved the stay here

    Edgar2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place! The place is surprisingly spacious and the kitchenette is very useful. Very close to lots of good, cheap food and very friendly hosts. Easy to take the bus or trolley into town. Also close to restaurants uptown that were very good. Thank you!

    Adele2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Confortable and clean little studio, not too far from all the different areas to visit in NOLA. Sisi & Fernando responded very quickly to our messages and went above and beyond to make sure everything went well during our trip! I would recommend the place to anyone!

    Whitney2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect room! Upon checking in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting room with a mezzanine and private bath. The room came with all of the amenities (shampoo, body wash, lotion, etc) and it was perfect for our short but sweet one night stay! Sisi and Fernando were great hosts and they were very communicative upon checking in and during check out. :]

This is the first and original neighborhood of the area known as Sterling Grove. The home itself is listed on the national historic registry and is also called "the duchess". The neighborhood is on the cusp of the current downtown and is in a triangle shaped cross sectioning, where down town meets the historical district. The home itself is located on a peninsula with three frontages. Directly across the street is the white picked fenced in area of the Magnolia historical senior activity center.

  • Very neat place! Very comfortable bed and space. There is an entire upstairs that is yours. Small kitchenette ( which is behind a door that I thought was a closet at first) Quite charming and clean place where I could stay for a week. A lovely breakfast is provided but I had to leave quite early and missed out. Was still provided with cherry cereal breakfast bar and cranberries. Parking space is included. I'll be back! Michelle

  • It's an autentic house with a great host who will tell you as much as he can about the city, culture and it's muzic (he played great songs for us). Also nice restaurant tips and lovely neighbourhood.

  • My parents went for their 30th Anniversary and loved it!

    Lacey2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Though traveling alone, I felt immediately comfortable and safe. Cozy and charming rooms had me imagining daily life of the “Duchess”. Cocktail hour is set aside each day to cover questions and provide an array of cultural, dining and entertainment suggestions. Breakfasts are a gastronomic delight. This host genuinely cares about his guests.

    Jill2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 2 nights and were very content. Check-in was a breeze, we were met and helped up to the loft. The loft itself was exactly as pictured and very cute and cozy. Felt very warm and safe. I was unable to participate in the cocktails etc offered because I got food poisoning so stayed cozy inside haha. Would definitely stay again, and it’s a great deal as well. Thank you!

    Alyssa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is simply great. If you visit to Louisiana, you would be foolish to miss out on good cultural experiences and such a unique part of America. The room had a lot of fun historical pieces to it, and Ben did a great job helping you enter into the history of the place. I recommend going downstairs to meet and talk with him. He has a lot of great insight on the history of Louisiana, places to visit, and how to get the “local” perspective. Plus, the rate was fantastic and only a few minute drive to downtown. Sure, it’s not a five-star hotel but way more of an experience.

  • Ryan was a fantastic host! We never met, but he responded very quickly to any questions I had. We were three girls visiting New Orleans for the first time and felt super safe at his place. Also the pictures don’t do it justice... so many areas to chill alone or with someone else. Also he let us stay an extra hour for check out, and offered to hold our bags until our flight. Thanks for everything!

  • I wasn't able to get around the neighborhood as much as I would have liked but it is an easy walk to some great places. A cute local grocery store and coffee houses were a couple place I did get to check out. Several restaurants available I wasn't able to get to see but many options and there is off street parking, which I really appreciated. September was super helpful when I was in a rush to leave because of flight problems and left items in the closet. So appreciate the extra effort. Highly recommended.

    Catherine2020-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed at September’s Airbnb for a weekend trip to New Orleans and it was great. The place itself was very nice and very clean. It’s the perfect size for a couple of people to stay in. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a great size. There’s closet space and places to store your things as well. Definitely loved the location, the place was near Loyola and Tulane (which is a less than 10 minute drive ) and also just up the street from a street car stop which can also be used to get to the French quarter. September was a great host and helped out with a couple things in regard to our stay. Overall, we didn’t have any issues with our stay and enjoyed it very much! Definitely would recommend.

    Yasmeen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • very cute space, perfect for a weekend trip to new orleans. we loved it!

    Mia-Simone2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • September was incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. It certainly came across that my comfort and stay was of the utmost importance. The space was cozy, but included all the necessary amenities. The bed, in particular, was absolutely fantastic. I quickly labeled it “The Marshmallow” as it joyfully cradled me after a long day of travel. One of the most memorable elements of the stay was the incredible bakery located approximately 100 steps from the studio.

    Andrew2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great location. Oak St feels like home, and on Tuesday nights is home to the Rebirth Brass Band. They put on a fantastic show! The streetcar is close by, and if you are renting a bike there is so much loveliness in easy reach. The check-in process is a breeze and the room is tidy, fully stocked with anything you need. Bed is like a dream cloud, SO comfortable. The washer and dryer upstairs are in perfect working condition. If you are a light sleeper the trains going by might bother you—it didn’t bother us. September was friendly and responded very quickly to any questions we had. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly!

    Shoshanna2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was small and cute, perfect for what we needed. Easy walk to trolly car that takes you all way to Bourbon Street. Cute bakery called Breads on Oak was yummy and Giacomo‘s was a good spot for dinner. Good coffee shop when u wait for trolly. Nice up and coming area.

    Lorna2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This a very cozy spot with everything you need to have a good time in the city. Nice private driveway with spot for your car to keep you from parking on the street. Places to eat and drink in walking distance which was nice. Great experience!

  • If you need a place to stay in NOLA, look no further. Hollis took clean to a whole new level during the COVID-19 pandemic. His home was spotless, he had cleaners, hand sanitizer and plenty of soap for his guests to stay safe, in addition it was abundantly clear he was practicing excellent practices himself. I wasn’t even a tiny bit concerned. His home is beautiful in addition to being clean! Thanks Hollis, would come again!

    Charlotte2020-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • This room is a true flavor of what New Orleans was and is

    Stanley2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • This home was so cute and cultured. The wrap around porch was so lovely to enjoy with the gorgeous weather Nola had that day. Hollis was very quick to respond and provided us total privacy during our stay. The home was clean and had been aired out before we arrived. A bottle of hand sanitzer and other cleaning products were waiting for us as soon as we walked in. Reasonably priced during such an economically impacted time. I'd definitely return. :)

What's not to love about our cabin? It is perfect for 2 guests wanting to stay near Downtown, but with access to the rest of the city. It has all the amenities of home, including a full kitchen, bathroom, and complimentary wine (for more than one-night stay) and chocolates. We manage a few properties down the street. Please check our profile at https://www.airbnb.com/users/5415105/listings
Our Cabin On the Crest is great for guests who want to enjoy Downtown as much as they want to explore the rest of our city. This is a quaint studio apartment fully furnished located near downtown (1 mile/1.6 km) Lafayette, LA. However, it is also positioned no more than 15 minutes away from any destination in Lafayette, our Cabin On the Crest listing is as close to central Lafayette as one can get. The guests who stay here will have the opportunity to help us improve and stamp their approval on our newest property! Our studio has one Queen size bed, a bathroom, a full kitchen, AC wall unit, and free parking. We also provide complimentary wine (for more than one-night stay) and chocolate. It has great location of being only 1 block away from downtown Lafayette! Our Cabin On the Crest is on a shared property with our Cajun Hostel On the Crest Home that sleeps 10 so big groups are welcome to book both homes!...
The neighborhood is very quiet, however, downtown Lafayette has many restaurants (Japanese sushi, French, Lebanese, Mexican, Burgers), music venues, night clubs, and bars and is only 10 blocks (approx 1 mile/1.6 km) or a 15 minute walk away. The house is located 3.4 miles (5.5 km) from the Lafayette airport and 1 mile away from the Amtrak Train Station and Greyhound Bus Station which are both Downtown.

  • THE PERFECT SPOT- i've rented this unit several times before, and I ALWAYS enjoy how cozy, clean, and cute the Cabin is! Everything you need, nothing you don't- would highly recommend!

    Regina2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Get ready to kick your shoes off and get comfortable in the extremely cozy cabin with clean soft bedding. I came for peace and quiet to rest and that's what I got. Some of the best rest I had in a few weeks. Hot shower and hot coffee available at my finger tips were the little but must needed accommodations needed the next morning and so greatly appreciated. Simple yet everything you need. Can't wait to come back. Oh and the deck of cards were nice to have for some good old solitaire solo time. They definitely thought of everything.

  • This tiny house is absolutely adorable! Not to mention it is in a safe neighborhood and behind the owners main house. I felt completely safe and more than once was told if I need anything to let them know. All the while, having complete privacy. James is quick to respond and his family is very friendly. I would definitely stay again and recommend you to stay as well! Just keep in mind, it truly is a tiny house.

  • Jame’s tiny house is perfect. My partner and I drove from Florida to Louisiana and we just wanted a space to have a quick rest, but it was much more than that. It was cold in Louisiana and my Florida weather skin was suffering but there was a very good heater just by the bed to warm you up a bit. I was very grateful for that. The bed was super comfortable and the decor was cozy and chic. Super easy to find, super easy to check in and check out. My partner and I were very pleased with our stay.

Lovely apt with 14 foot ceilings and exposed plaster walls right in the middle of the French Qtr and the Garden Dist, 10 minute walk to the Convention Center, and with wonderful food and drink options within one block. Separate entrance and entire floor of 1850s brick townhouse. We own the home, and we live on the first floor of the building. We're very thankful to you for staying with us, as your money goes back into the bldg by paying for its continuing restoration! [Listing #: 17STR-08176]
Old 1850s brick townhouse located on the edge of the Lower Garden District. The apartment is romantic, full of antiques, and has a super comfy king size bed. Newly renovated bathrooms as of October 2019. If you love food, you are within walking distance of some great restaurants located either uptown on Magazine Street or downtown in the Warehouse District / CBD. There is a lovely bar right next door, an awesome coffee shop right across the street and a microbrewery within a block. You are just a 20 minute walk to the French Quarter as well. We own this house, live in the building, and do all the booking, communication and cleaning ourselves, so we’re here to make your stay as great as possible with a personal touch! Your stay funds the renovation of this building so thanks for considering us for your trip to New Orleans! Please no weddings or parties in this apartment; these types of events are not allowed without my express consent.
We love this neighborhood! It is right in the middle of city along the river, so a more low traffic spot, but with easy access to the more commercial and entertainment districts. It has its own lovely set of bars, coffee shops, and wonderful restaurants very close by though.
  • Lindsey and her family were extremely accommodating and the apartment is like something from a dream... so lovely. Great location, convenient, charming, with a safe and homey feel. Highly recommended.

  • Lindsey’s place is truly one of a kind! It’s in a perfect location! The coffee shop across the street was amazing! The building itself is old, but gives a very cool vibe. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot (actually the bathroom was recently renovated) I would definitely stay here again.

  • Lindsey’s place is fantastic! It is spacious but still cozy. It has a hip, turn of the century vibe that is wonderful. Great location, tucked away but still close to everything. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk to many of the museums and a 30 minute walk to the French Quarter. We loved our stay and will be back again!

    Jessica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. Unique location. It’s a historic building so a little rough around the edges (hence 4 stars for cleanliness vs. 5) but that has nothing to do with Lindsey. The spaces she could reach were immaculate! Street noise bothered us the first night but then we discovered a huge box of ear plugs and were fine. The space is truly beautiful and the location perfect. Lindsey even offered to keep and donate our excess Mardi Gras throws. Would stay again! Side note: coffee across the street was a perfect first stop every morning.

    Heather2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space & great location! Lindsey gave us clear directions for checking in/out and plenty of local suggestions. Loved all the natural products. We will definitely stay here again!

Why rent a room when you can rent a tiny house for your trip to New Orleans. This 650 sq ft home is just steps away from the French Quarter. Everything from Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, streetcar, bikeshare, and the Central Business District are all just a short stroll away. Private entrance through luscious garden. ***Parties over 2 persons will not be considered and will be turned away upon arrival. Only guests listed on the reservation are allowed on the property.*** Our guesthouse is located in the rear of our property. Estimated to have been built in 1837 (the same date as the main house), this space has gone through a total transformation. A mix of modern and old New Orleans bundled into a small house. There are 8 sets of French doors, and 4 sets of casement windows, allowing for the space to be drenched in natural light. When the weather is nice and a cool breeze is blowing, there is nothing better than opening all the doors and windows so you can take in all the sounds the neighborhood has to offer. Downstairs is an open living room and kitchen area with a complete 4 piece kitchen suite (full sized fridge stocked with bottled water and a Keurig with coffee), and a moveable island. There is also a flat screen TV with DVR, HBO, Netflix and Amazon Prime. Netflix and Prime are already logged in for you to use. A spiral staircase leads you upstairs where there is a king sized bed, walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom, and 12 foot ceilings with exposed beams. Want to lounge outside? Hang out in the shared courtyard or if you prefer privacy there is a private patio behind the guesthouse. Parties over 2 persons will not be considered (city law) and will be turned away upon arrival. Only guests listed on the reservation are allowed on the property. We live on the property and make a point of meeting all guests at check-in. Sneaking extra guests onto the property is not a possibility. Any attempt to do so will result in a cancellation of the reservation. Parking is street parking which is unrestricted and free to all. Cleaning fee is included in the nightly rate so there is no extra hidden fees when staying with us. (City License: 18STR-15360; 19OSTR-27023)
The Treme is a wonderful and unique neighborhood unlike any other in the United States. St. Augustine Church is on the corner, which leads to many Jazz Funerals and Second Lines. The church also has an amazing Sunday Mass that is open to the public. As a younger nephew noted, "It's not really Sunday Mass, it's a concert!" Mardi Gras Indians regularly wander the neighborhood, as well as brass bands, musicians, and a pair of cowboys who are always walking their llamas, Shetland ponies, and goats. There is always something going on and the people in the neighborhood are friendly and talkative. You can learn just as much about New Orleans from the folks on the street in the Treme as you could with a tour guide charging you an arm and a leg to walk around the Quarter.
  • One of the best bnb’s I’ve stayed at! The guesthouse is so unique, I loved everything about it. It’s also the perfect location if you’re looking to walk everywhere. Great tips and recommendations from the hosts. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

He was thoughtful in his communication before our trip and continued his guidance after we arrived. The space in the historic home is modern yet the character remains. Cool neighborhood just a few steps from the French Quarter. Bret was a fabulous host for my wife and me and I’d suggest him to any of our friends.

Cant say enough great things about this place but I will try: Bret is an amazing host with great tips and local spots to visit, beautiful unique space that is sparking clean with all the amenities you might need, and a great location just right near all the action but far enough at night to get a good nights sleep. We will definitely stay here again no questions asked!

Being only a block off the French Quarter, it was very walkable to many attractions and bars/restaurants. The unit itself was very clean and spacious and if you don't mind walking up a tight spiral staircase then you'll be happy with your stay!

  • My girlfriend and I made a last minute decision to drive through the night instead of staying the in New Orleans due to COVID-19. Certainly didn’t make it easy on Cody & Leo but they both helped so much and handled the situation so well even with the little time we gave them. For that we are very grateful, and we were able to receive a full refund. Amazing people and truly Superhosts! If you travel to New Orleans you have to check out Cody & Leo at the beautiful Casita Gentilly.

  • Can't say enough great things about this spot. It was the perfect home base during my first visit to New Orleans, which was a mix of work and play. I was there for a conference but also had some time to explore the city. The location is central, free breakfast is great, easy check-in/out policy, ability to leave your luggage at the location after check-out if you need some extra time to explore. Met some lovely people. I got my own bathroom in the room to share with up to 3 people. Definitely stay here if you need a fun, casual, comfortable place to stay in New Orleans!!

  • The house is absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed it so much! The neighborhood is artsy and feels very safe. Suzanna was so sweet. We really enjoyed our stay

    Matt2020-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanna's place was a dream. It's full of character and beautifully decorated. Check in was super easy and location was amazing. I genuinely wished we could have stayed longer, I could honestly live and die there happily. The kitchen and little bar cart was my favorite. Suzanna communicated with me and was very helpful. She has little books about the neighborhood and even a little hangover kit on the counter. We absolutely loved it.

We were able to experience some of the local culture while still enjoy some of the more mainstream tourist attractions New Orleans has to offer. One of the best bookings I’ve experienced this far!

  • Absolutely amazing

    Erin2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pretty short walk to the french quarter. I loved the gym and the rooftop pool. Make sure to lock the door behind you right away once you're in the room because it takes a minute for it to relock. Also make sure to look the door when you go to leave right after you open it by placing your palm over the keypad otherwise it will stay unlocked for a while. As a single female travelling I was concerned when I realized how long it too to relock until I figured out how to lock it faster.

  • Seriously the best experience ever. The space is beautiful and exactly like the photos, great amenities, amazing bed, PERFECT LOCATION! We walked pretty much everywhere we wanted to explore and go minus a few Uber’s to farther away spots. I could go on and on. Book it.

  • We had a great time in this Sonder apartment. We enjoyed the spacious living room and excellent facilities (drier and washer in the apartment at no extra charge). The apartment is close enough to the French Quarter and CBD but also far enough to appreciate much quieter surroundings. The Sonder team was incredibly helpful and responsive. We stayed a week, but this would be a good option for a longer stay too.

    Jose2020-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely beautiful. We have stayed at many Airbnb places and this is at the top of best places. It is quite, tranquil, clean, perfectly located for a stay in Natchitoches. We loved watching nature and being on the Cane River Lake. Jennifer was very helpful and responded quickly to all our questions. I highly recommend this location.

    Kathy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We greatly enjoyed staying in the house. It was exactly how it looked on the foto’s. The locations is great. The house and the interior are full of love and detail. It was very clean and fully equipped. Love it 🥰 Jennifer is a great host. I recommend it to stay here. You won’t regret is.

    Carina2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at birds nest was absolutely amazing! We loved everything about this place!!! The house was perfect for us and our two little girls. They had a blast fishing while watching the sunset. The wrap around deck is so relaxing, you can hear the birds as you soak up the peaceful river. The shower in the house was fantastic, great water pressure(I’ve stayed at a lot of places and it’s not like that at many) There were personal touches throughout the house, but it still had that simple feel, just perfect! The location is fantastic!! We have our favorite stores to visit on the river and restaurants , it was nice being so close to everything but feeling like you were in the middle of nowhere. Also, I like that there is a washer and dryer & anything you need to cook a meal. The little built in bed near the master bedroom was perfect for our little one, but it would be plenty big for an adult. Jennifer was so hospitable, she made an extra effort to make the sofa bed for our daughter since we were coming in really late. She also left sweet little welcome snacks and answered any questions I had about the surrounding area very promptly. She’s simply a sweetheart! This is definitely at the top of my list on air bnb stays!

    KirkandCrys2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The birds nest did not disappoint with its beautiful views and awesome location ! Very cozy with all the kitchen essentials you will need. It’s also stocked with lots of towels, toiletries, and blankets ! Hands down one of the best Airbnb I’ve had the pleasure of staying at ! Thank you Jennifer !

    Amber2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

  • This place was not only adorable but super clean. The location was amazing. Literally a 10 minute walk to Canal/Bourbon Street. We would definitely consider staying here again if back in New Orleans.

  • This was a great little condo. I traveled to New Orleans with my daughter, who had never visited the city. With the sleeper sofa, we had two beds enabling privacy when we wanted it. We could walk to the French Quarter and there were good breakfast restaurants in the neighborhood.

  • Accurate photos of the property. Close walking to most of downtown. I would definitely recommend to others.

  • This was a Wonderful place to stay!! It was everything expected and more. Stylish, clean, and cozy! The location is perfect to walk to everything and still be a bit out of the way if the bourbon street noise. Also, the communication was superb, kindly checking in and offering advice on things to do. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to book this proper and I will definitely return. Thank you Mandy and Krystal so much for being such wonderful hosts!

    Kellie2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Krystal & Mandy’s place was very nice all of the pictures are accurate. For some reason I thought we would be staying at the Roosevelt hotel residences, but we were in the apartments next door. The apartment is walking distance from everything. I literally walked back and for from bourbon street just because I forgot my lip gloss and it wasn’t a big deal because the walk was so short. We got there super early before check in and were able to leave our bags at Krystal and Mandys friends barber shop down the street. I know when you think, barber shop, it’s like, ehhh. But it’s no regular barber shop it’s looks like a boutique and the owner Peggy was very helpful about where to go before our check in. Overall great location the roof top is nice and you get pics of where the crane fell while they were rebuilding the hard rock. Krystal and Mandy were great host and I’d stay there again. Not with 3 people, it’s big enough for a couple even though it stays 4.

There is fishing or canoeing only steps away from your back door and a public boat launch just around the corner. Come soak up some fresh air on the porch while gazing out at the bayou. We have 2 bikes and a hot tub for your use.

  • This was the best air bnb stay I ever had! Even with everything going on with the Corona Virus Stephanie still managed to make my stay wonderful

  • We were incredibly comfortable and truly enjoyed our stay. The home is one-block from our favorite BBQ spot and mere blocks from some great outdoor venues. It's now quite walking distance from downtown, but it was really easy for us to rent Jump bikes and get downtown in a flash. The hosts were remarkably hospitable and the neighborhood was delightful.

    Rio2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect setup for 1-2 guests. Everything was spotless when we arrived and checkout was very easy. Stephanie was incredibly accommodating during tough times (Coronavirus) and allowed us some flexibility to make the changes we needed to get home safe. Would recommend!

  • Our stay here was amazing! The place was beautifully decorated with bright colors and touches that added such character. The courtyard was lovely, I wish we had more time to enjoy it, but the week was packed. I would highly recommend this space to anyone who is visiting. The neighborhood was nice and had walkable restaurants. Everything, including the french quarter, was a nice romantic walk away or a quick uber ride. Our stay was amazing and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

  • We had such a fantastic stay at this beautiful Airbnb! The layout of the house was well thought out, and we loved the art and decoration - it put us in such a good mood! The house was bright (love the colors!) and roomy. The neighborhood was great and we walked into Frenchman/Bourbon street and the Garden District with ease. We slept wonderfully with the outer shutters of the bedroom closed, and the bedroom felt super cozy! We will definitely be back.

  • This Airbnb was perfect for my stay in New Orleans. While this was mainly a business trip, I was able to explore the city due to it's central location. The room was exactly as pictured, with marine decor and ample room for three guests. The neighbors were all so sweet, greeting us with good mornings or how are you's whenever possible. If you are looking for a place to stay, while visiting NOLA, book with M!

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great ‼️ The house gave a cozy warm vibe and was true to the pictures provided . The place was super clean and stylish as well . And the biggest thing that had me head over hills was the convenience of the location of the home , all restaurants and places of interest was within 10 to 15 mins at the most ‼️ We loved it and definitely would book again 🤗

  • Seriously SO happy with the experience!! These guys were so accommodating to us, from a flight being earlier than our check in time, to holding our bags longer for us, to their hospitality. The place gave an amazing vintage feel that had upgraded amenities (Bluetooth in the bathroom was a great touch). It was so cute that there a sign in book as well! To see past people give little hellos was a thoughtful touch for sure. And the location was perfect! Quick uber rides to the French Quarter and all the action without having to deal with the craziness if you wanted a little quiet time. Next trip to NOLA, I will definitely be booking this space again.

  • I enjoyed a weekend getaway at Joe’s bungalow and would easily recommend the space to other vacationers or anyone looking for a relaxing spot. The cabin in and of itself is a work of art, beautiful and inviting, and the view of False River is spectacular. The kitchen is very well stocked and made cooking a breeze. Joe was pleasant to communicate with and the check-in/check-out process was straightforward. Note that the cabin is next to a trafficed roadway, so it is not a secluded location. I had no trouble sleeping, but it might be worth mentioning just in case.

It had literally everything you could need except an iron and hair conditioner. But there was a dryer so used that instead. Jacuzzi was fabulous! Location was great!

  • The cabin on False River is the perfect little get away.....The photos don’t do it justice, it is much more beautiful in person & has everything you could need for your stay....The wood burning fireplaces make the cabin so warm and cozy during a winter stay. Beautiful sunrises for your morning coffee and gorgeous sunsets for sipping a glass of wine await you as you enjoy the deck on the water. Joe is such an excellent host, always available & quick to respond! Jamie and Jim Dyer 01/26/2020

  • Mike, your place was just awesome. In the perfect place close to stores, and not far from the French quarter. The studio was very clean, nice neat and simple the way we wanted it. And also the neighborhood was just perfect peaceful vibrant and just a comfortable area to be in..........would most definitely come back to this spot when we return

  • The check-in was super easy and it was a short drive to the French quarter and Bywater areas. The roads were a little bumpy around the area. Mike’s place was comfortable and was good value for money. Would certainly recommend this place to stay at while you’re visiting NOLA!

  • This was my second time staying here. This time I brought my two young children. The space was excellent for running around and playing ( inside and out) . My kids loved playing while I sat at the large desk and got lots of work done. My kids and I loved the little extra drinks that were left for us and the terrific coffee ! We had an issue with the TV and Jason came quickly to fix it! What a nice friendly host he is! We had a great stay. Thanks Jason!

  • We loved our stay here. It was close to downtown, spacious, clean, and had a very easy check-in/check-out. Both my husband and I and the kids enjoyed the board games, books, and puzzles. Very clean, and a good vibe. It was great to have the washer and dryer because we went on some hikes near the bayou and definitely got a bit muddy. The cots in the back room were perfect for my kids.

  • This place is amazing. We were comfortable from the start and enjoyed the space. It’s nice to be close to downtown and easy access. We really like this neighborhood, too.

  • Loved staying with Leslie, the bywater is an amazing neighborhood in New Orleans. Description was right on and we enjoyed our stay!

    Katelynn2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie was a wonderful host, and his house was exactly what I wanted and expected of New Orleans. My friends and I were there for Mardi Gras, and we loved not staying so close to all of the craziness. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely. Leslie gave us great tips for food, safety, and how not to fall for scams. He is also knowledgeable in the history of his family and the house, which made the experience of staying there more memorable. I highly recommend staying here.

    Lauren2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie is a wonderful host. He responded immediately when we sent messages. He met us on arrival, gave us a tour of amenities and had a lot of helpful tips about the wonderful local eateries and pubs in Bywater. We enjoyed walking from here to the French Quarter and back along the waterway (Rusted Rainbow Bridge on Chartres and Piety to the end near French Market). When it was cold or late we grabbed Lyft ($10-15). The unit is 1/2 of the house and is connected by a door, but we never heard from his side and he didn't come in if he knew we were there. As mentioned he came in daily to take trash while we were gone We are very self sufficient, but if we had forgotten anything, it was there. Many thoughtful touches, including flowers, snacks, drinks, ice and toiletries. Can't wait to go back.

    Diana2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie is a great host! Really appreciated the stories about the area and the history of his family and home. Everything you need is provided, even things you wouldn't expect. Comfy beds...fridges...microwave...coffee maker...complimentary beverages including wine, and a great selection of snacks which is nice when you come home tired and could use a snack and a cold water, or soda. Huge bathroom with comfy towels. Thanks Leslie!

    Judy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • In an up & coming neighborhood in the Bywater area, this location is just a couple of turns via Uber or Lyft to get to the French Quarter & everywhere in New Orleans. Quiet neighborhood & a comfortable space.

    Stephanie2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly situated in the super hip Bywater district. Very walkable, easy access to Frenchman st. or the French Quarter. Wonderfully historic (and possibly haunted) house adds to the vibe and charm. I can see why Leslie is considered a super host, both of the refrigerators were fully stocked and he had many tips for local activities. We will certainly be back!!

Set on 2 acres of land with native trees and plants, staying with us is an authentic country experience. Sweet potato capital of the world, Sunset, Louisiana is a convenient hub to explore the Acadiana region or relax on our serene property.
The room is similar to a private, second story apartment, but without a full kitchen. It has its own exterior entrance (PLEASE MIND YOUR HEAD ON THE TREE BRANCHES), bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, plates and utensils. It should be noted that the single bed is a trundle bed and is low to the ground. The room receives a lot of shade from the big live oak tree that grows over it, under which you can swing in the hammock, sit on the front porch or in the garden. There is a small collection of vinyls featuring some classic Zydeco, Cajun and New Orleans musicians, as well as a few books for your pleasure. The room has a rustic/funky/southwest feel and is full of homemade or refurbished furniture. Dave is a master carpenter, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Our property is best suited for guests seeking the peace of the countryside, and a unique look at small town Louisiana life. It is also a convenient hub for exploring Acadiana: Lafayette is 20 minutes away, Mamou and Fred's Lounge is 30, Bayou Teche Brewery is 10, Opelousas is 7, historic Gran Coteau is 5, and of course Sunset is only a bike ride or short walk down the road. We have lived here our whole lives and can recommend interesting places to visit, where to eat, canoe at state parks, take scenic drives, see music (or an alligator!) and more.
As mentioned earlier, Sunset is a small town, but it is growing each year. We have a thriving arts and antique scene with shops like Bayou Some Stuff, Funky Flea and Remember When. There are a few restaurants: the very popular Cafe Josephine, the staple Little Mexico, Cajun Rizz for boiled crawfish and more and the Donut Palace. Just outside the "center" and you can visit the local grocery market or go to Subway. You can walk or ride a bike to Grand Coteau (3 miles), which is a charming town with old cajun houses, beautiful oak alleys, a cafe and a historic girls school, Sacred Heart Academy. Just a little farther and you can grab a drink or watch music at the Bike Barn, grab some boudin at Don's, or head to famous Prejean's for a seafood platter. A little further out, in Arnaudville is the Bayou Teche brewery with award winning micro-brews,tours and tastings
  • Loved it! Such a cute place! I loved the old disk player that makes this place even more cozy !

  • The room is stylishly appointed and very cozy. Nice view of the landscape from the porch. David and his wife gave great tips on things to see and do in the area. We might not have gone to the Vermilionville Living History museum if he had not recommended it. We spent the better part of a day there. Also appreciated the breakfast he provided: freshly baked nut breads and muffins with fruit juice. Highly recommend this place. There's even more to see and do in the area than we thought.

  • This is an exceptional cool place. Very beautiful Garden day and night. Cute decorated apartment with everything you need. Our highlight was the recordplayer which makes the place just like home. Thanks for letting us stay :)

    Sophie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree Room is extremely comfy and cozy! Everything you need for a short stay. David was extremely nice and helpful. They put out a bed for our dog to use, left us breakfast for the next morning, and even suggested local attractions and restaurants for us to visit! We chose to eat at Prejean’s and it did not disappoint. If you are looking to do anything in Grand Cateau, Carencro, or Lafayette, this is an amazing place to stay! And the outdoor space you have access to is absolutely beautiful as well! We plan to stay again next time we visit Sunset!

Our cozy cabin sits in the heart of Cajun country, about 30 minutes outside of Lafayette. It's a great place to spend time relaxing in the quiet serenity of South Louisiana, or enjoy spending a night or more traveling through, it is located just 8 miles north of Interstate 10. The Cabin is all wood inside and has the great cabin smell the minute you open the door. It was built in 2014 by Amish builders in Pennsylvania and transported down by a truck.
This is a single bedroom log cabin that was built by Amish builders. Materials in the cabin are all wood floors, walls and ceiling. It has that great smell of a cabin in the country. There is internet, an electronic lock on the door, a security system, a table in the den and an iron & ironing board. It has a fully equipped kitchen for preparing a meal. There is a dock over the pond to relax and enjoy the outdoor view.
The cabin sits next to a pond on 5 acres of property. There are trees along the property lines and a dock over the pond to sit and relax. There is a porch on both sides of the cabin.
  • Larry is a great host and answered all of our questions extremely quickly. The place was beautiful, in near perfect condition and very clean, they even provided breakfast food for us. We enjoyed a pretty view and lots of peace and quiet. We had an awesome weekend here and will absolutely be staying here again if we are ever in the area.

  • Larry has been the best host ever! Thank you for all your help and hospitality.

  • This cabin is a fantastic little romantic getaway in the heart of Cajun country. The setting is perfect for a weekend getaway with plenty of options for dining within driving distance. We found the cabin jus as described and the pictures do not do it justice. Coffee on the porch is a must!! If you’re traveling through Cajun country, stay here for a night or 2. You won’t be disappointed. We’ll be back! Thanks Larry!!

  • We so much enjoyed New Orleans and our first night's stay at this Airbnb studio that we reserved an extra night. Matthew was super accommodating and helpful in all our communications. A delightful spot for a couple of tourists to relax after exploring this amazing city.

    Alison2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a convenient, safe and cheerfully eclectic place for 1 or 2 people to stay in New Orleans, this one fits the bill. Our only sighting of a host was the briefest of encounters of Katherine through their front door opened a crack so as not to let the dog out. However, written messages with Matthew were promptly and very helpfully answered. One end of St Charles Street trolley is within very easy walk from the Airbnb studio. It was immensely helpful to have our own parking space in the driveway. City driving and parking can be awkward, but the trolley system and Uber/Lyft met every transportation need. Matthew and Katherine have provided helpful recommendations for eating places and sites to visit, clear information on the amenities, and specific instructions for tidying up etc before checkout. All in all, a good place!

    Alison2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay! The garden/backyard area is gorgeous (and made a great backdrop for a photo i took!) We really loved that there were lots of places to eat close by, since we were trying to avoid the busier areas at night. Matthew and Katherine were very kind and welcoming. The local beers and snacks were a nice surprise after our 5 hour drive. :) Thank you for making our trip awesome!

    Sarah2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great for a weekend getaway. Beautiful outdoor area. Would recommend.

    Ariel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew and Katherine’s place was perfectly located. Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but conveniently located near shops and restaurants. They’re three blocks from the street car and five minutes drive from magazine street. The space was perfect for me who just needed a place to sleep, shower, and then get up and go. If you want a more laid back approach, the garden was perfect for a good book and a cold beer. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at their place.

    Matthew2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I loved it here! The neighborhood is so lovely, it is an easy walk to the streetcar, and the little yard and garden are so wonderful. Everything clean and comfy inside, and I appreciated the oatmeal on my last morning as I waited for my airport cab. Super quiet and safe.

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I have just completed a 18 day music tour and This is best Airbnb I have stayed in on the trip. I highly recommend. The hosts are great the decor is fabulous and the outside space was so nice I had to take pictures so I could copy a few of the ideas for at home!! It’s in a quiet safe area only a short journey into the centre. It has lots of nice extras that were warmly received.

Great dog-walking neighborhood (and near a little park!) and coffee/cafes nearby as well as close to the streetcar!! So convenient.
