  • We had a fantastic stay at Round Lake on beautiful St. Patrick’s Bay. The sunsets are fantastic, and the lake is sandy-bottomed with a very gradual slope - perfect for younger swimmers. There is a lot to see and do nearby, but the best days were those spent down at the lake doing next to nothing. Our kids, our dogs, and my father-in-law all enjoyed the space, and there was plenty of room for all of us. The cottage is clean and very spacious, with everything you might need in terms of kitchen equipment, linens, water gear, etc. The photos don’t do the place justice! The features we enjoyed the most were the big screened-in porch looking down over the lake, and the gazebo down at the dock that allowed us to spend hours and hours down at the water without getting overheated/too much sun. Paul was very hospitable, helpful, and prompt in responding to any questions we had. It was a pleasure to deal with him! We would recommend this rental without hesitation.

  • This is a lovely family cottage, beautiful sunsets and view of the lake. There are many bedrooms/beds, making it perfect for our family of four, plus one grandmother. Its very close to places for great day trips (Pronvincial Parks etc), and communication with both Paul and Property Manager Doris was easy. If we were to come back to the area again, we would definitely look at availability here.

  • A beautiful cottage on a beautiful lake! Round Lake is a superb lake for swimming and boating. The cottage is in very close proximity to both Bonnechere and Foy provincial parks. We had a very relaxing stay at the cottage and I would highly recommend this property to others. The cottage contained all the amenities to make for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday. We would definitely like to return again next year!

  • Our family had a great time at this cottage. It's an old, family cottage with lots of character but very comfortable. The beds deserve a special mention - I have never slept on such a comfortable one at a cottage, and king size no less! The mattresses and bedding, which was provided, were all pretty much brand new. There are four bedrooms, one of which has 4 single beds, so lots of options for sleeping arrangements. It was a nice sized cottage for 6 people (at least 4 of whom are introverts) as everyone could find there own space to retreat to. This was especially appreciated on the couple of rainy days we had, as was the flat screen tv and dvd player. Otherwise we spent most of our time down on the dock watching the kids swim and catch frogs (the tiny toads up the hill also provided great entertainment). The water is very clean and clear; the lake is shallow and sandy, so you can walk out a long ways, which is pretty neat. There is also a great view of the sunset, being west-facing. We were able to walk from the cottage to Foy Provincial Park, which is officially closed but has a lovely beach which we had all to ourselves that day. I would also recommend the poutine at Fry Guys across the lake. Further afield, we went to Bonnechere Caves, the Wilno Tavern and Kazuby village, and visited some artists' studios in the hills between Killaloe and Wilno. I find this a neat part of Ontario, still blessedly untrampled by tourists. Paul responded to our many emails and questions promptly and helpfully and there were detailed instructions provided about how to work everything in the cottage. We felt very welcome and comfortable. Thanks, Paul and family, for sharing your family's cottage with us!

  • Zac n Steph are really super hosts. They left us great local treats to enjoy. The escape pod is very cozy and was perfect for us and our dog. Lots of wildlife and trails to enjoy, including a challenging but rewarding hike to the lookout point. The escape pod had everything we needed and we stayed very warm on a cold winter night.

In the cabin we found books on wildlife and astronomy and a binder of info about the place and surrounding areas. Also 2.5L of water and a coffee maker with filters. The cabin was the perfect size for 2 people and a dog! The outhouse was the perfect distance away. Trails were immaculately groomed and marked. We can not wait to come back!!!

A big tent with a bed and a wood stove. This yurt has kept people cozy year-round for a decade. Daytrip to Algonquin Park, visit the Opeongo Hills Nordic Ski Club, check out local artisans or the historic Wilno Tavern. Fall asleep to the sound of the wind, wake to the sound of birds. It's self-check-in but please let us know when you plan to arrive and if you'd like a fire started for you. Phone messages and messages through the app may not get a quick response so text if you need us right away
We've lost track of how many travelers have experienced and loved this yurt. Staying here is a very relaxing experience, ideal for those wanting simple but comfortable accommodations. It's like camping but in a big, round, warm tent with a comfy bed! All communication must be through text during your stay and not through the airbnb app, email or phone call. Communication in advance of your stay, and that is not time sensitive, can happen through the airbnb website or app. Thanks for your cooperation.
There are quiet dirt roads where you can meander past lakes and meadows, just 1km away. Or, Wadsworth Beach is only 2km away. It's a very pretty and relaxing spot. Great for families or outdoor enthusiasts. There is another dwelling on the property where other guests may be staying.
  • Natalie made the stay at the yurt the easiest part of the trip. Was a super host. Private location and as expected.

    Mark2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie's place is the only AirB&B I've stayed at more than once! We love it! We are definitely hoping to return again next year. Highly recommend this yurt for a unique stay about 35 minutes away from Algonquin Park!

  • Tis was a beautiful, isolated, romantic weeekend away. We chose a great time to go (mid October) as the trees were changing and the weather was getting cooler which made the Yurt that much cosier. Everything was exactaly as described on the site. Everything about our stay was an absolute treat. Beautiful paths and scenery as we explored the recommended nearby trails. Everything we could’ve needed was thought of and made accessible to us. Natalie was extremely welcoming, accommodating, and communicative. Highly reccomend!

    Bailey2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie provided me with a fantastic stay and a warm fire on my way out to Algonquin. The yurt is cosy and offers everything you need for ab overnight stay in the woods

    Andy2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect if you want a cosy experience away from the city. We used the yurt as our base and went hiking in Algonquin park every day of our stay. Especially loved the wood stove that heats the yurt and the yurt opens to a big backyard with trees!

    Chirag2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie’s Yurt was amazing. We’ve never stayed in one before and now we can’t wait to stay in one again!! We could see the stars from the cosy bed as the roof had a window. We had a lovely, romantic time!

We had fun having camp fires, exploring the woods and playing in the snow (which our pup absolutely loved as well) . Thanks again for such a great experience!

  • This place is great. Up high on the escarpment with a fantastic view of Golden Lake. Zac & Steph met us at our vehicle and gave us a tracker ride up to the cabin and made sure we were settled in (they even brushed off our car before we got back to it!). The trails are awesome and there is a lot to see if your a person who likes a challenge. We will definitely be back!

  • Zac n Steph have an absolute jewel of a property in the Golden Lake area. My girlfriend and I spent two nights at the Algonquin Cabin with an amazing view of Golden Lake. Upon arrival Zac n Steph were ready to rock and roll with the shuttle up to our cabin they were super friendly and informative about their property. They have around 450 acres to explore with more then enough trails for anyone to hike/snowshoe all day. Communication with Zac n Steph was great! The cabin was warm and cozy in the wintertime! We will definitely be back!!

  • Log cabin was well-curated, cozy and clean. Area was nice and quiet, traffic noise from nearby road was non-existent, and a path had been cleared (considering they just received 40cm of snow). Couldn't have asked for better hospitality. Would absolutely recommend.

  • Great location, stunning view! Couldn’t find a cuter cabin, looks exactly like the photos! Can tell it’s newly renovated, super clean! Would love to come back!

    Golden Lake, ON, Canada

The chalet is located at Gerber's Nursery outside the village of Golden Lake, and provides a cozy get away for a couple, small family or four friends travelling together. One bedroom has a Queen bed and the loft has a Full XL, with a small sofa bed downstairs which sleeps one. We are 30 minutes from Renfrew, Pembroke and Barry's Bay. 1.5 Hours west of Ottawa. In the other direction 1.5 hours to Algonquin Park. A great base to explore the Ottawa Valley.
The chalet is located at the heart of our plant nursery and landscaping business outside the village of Golden Lake. The farm dates back to 1860 and the chalet was one of the first log buildings on the property - probably from 1870. When my husband was growing up here, this was the building where he housed and milked his cow. In the 1970s it was renovated into a guest house with the European-style "chalet" reminiscent of Germany where the family originated from. A recent rehaul has made the chalet ready to welcome visitors from near and far. There is a homey country feel to the chalet, complete with portraits of my great-great grandparents from the Smokey Mountains of East Tennessee. Old books, a big collection of National Geographics for perusing and extra afghans for cozing up on the couch add to the feeling of relaxation and comfort. The chalet is quite cozy, but very comfortable for a small family, couple or group of four travelling together. The main floor has the living/dining room, separate kitchen and small three-piece bathroom with shower. The small sofa in the living room has a pull out single bed. Upstairs, which you access on newly hand-crafted log stairs, is the loft area with a Full XL bed (longer than a regular full bed). A separate bedroom is off the loft area, giving privacy for both areas. Bedding, towels and extra blankets are provided. There is AC in the bedroom area in summer and all areas are heated in winter. There is free wi-fi on the property, accessible on the patio.
In the heart of the beautiful Ottawa Valley near Pikwakanagan First Nation. We are close to the village of Golden Lake and close to the public beaches on Golden Lake and Lake Clear. Other fun things in our area are Bonnechere caves, white water rafting, Algonquin Park, as well as numerous golf courses within a short drive. A snowmobiling/ATV trail runs through our property, so this is a fun year-round destination.
  • This is a cute little cottage that Debbi allowed us to stay at for the weekend. Extremely clean, neat, comfortable, and tidy. Debbi did a wonderful job communicating with us and made the check-in & check-out seamless and convenient to our schedule. Thank you so much Debbi!

    Jeff2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy hideaway for exploring the cross country trails and haunting landscape of the area. The history of the house and area makes for a very enjoyable stay. The cottage had everything we wanted, was super clean, had board games and a really interesting collection of old national geographics and books to read. Even though you're less than 2 hours from Ottawa its a great place for experiencing another side of Ontario.

    Jen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome host and place! I was able to book this place last minute and Debbie had the place ready for us when we arrived!

  • We had a wonderful time at Debbi’s place. Just the perfect spot for a weekend on the countryside. The chalet is a super cozy place, equipped with everything you need and the most interesting DVD collection taking you back to you childhood. It is also not far from algonquin park but we figured out that the area right around Debbi’s place was even more beautiful than the park! After a warm welcome, Debbi had numerous suggestions what to explore. We would definitely choose the chalet again - next time for a longer stay!

  • Awesome stay with a bunch of stuff to do. The hosts are awesome!

    Taylor2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully and creatively decorated cabin, warm and wonderful to spend time in. It is tiny, but so well-designed that everything worked out perfectly. Do not bring a lot of stuff with you though because there is no where to hang it, or even store it, but otherwise, the cabin is spectacularly pretty and comfortable to lounge in, with a lovely view. Lots of hot water, efficient kitchen, soft towels, comfy beds, quiet sleeps. Thank You.

  • Thanks for the friendliness and the facility. As I had very little time, and used the "nest" only as a place to sleep-over while I attended a function at a nearby lake, I missed seeing most of the features of this property. It looks like the area would be great for a family looking for a quiet place to rest. Thanks for letting me share your home.

  • host was very welcoming on arrival. He was not constantly intruding on us but whenever we saw eachother he would strike up a conversation and also would communicate if we needed to simply ask. He's a nice guy, loved the place!

  • Such a nice place to stay, in a peaceful and beautiful situation ! Aniela and Greg were very kind ! Thanks to us, we enjoyed the canoe on the lake, and eating a BBQ with an amazing view. • Great cozy cabin with lots of trails to walk through. Right on the water and the sound of the water is so soothing. Andrew is very welcoming and helpful!

    Melanie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures do not give this little piece of haven justice. Great trails to snowshoe or walk. Listening to the Rushing River from the covered veranda or main bed up in the loft. Had all the amenities we needed. Hot shower, bathroom sparkly clean. Description provided accurate. Small towns nearby should you require any additional supplies. Happy that the wood was supplied for indoor fireplace creating a warm environment, along with a couple Adirondack chairs to lounge off of the veranda. We loved the coziness atmosphere and the beauty of nature that surrounds this place. Would come back in a heart beat!

    Lynn2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little spot right by the river. Not as private as we had thought, but there was no one else staying in tte other two rentals so it was perfectly quiet for us. Great little space for our family of 5. We don’t mind being cozy. Comfortable beds, lovely little kitchen and the wood stove was wonderful.

    Carolyn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Andrews’s cabin is a such great place to stay and relax. Clean, and very cozy! A great place for a long weekend/getaway. We will definitely be back.

  • Little piece of heaven. Wood fire , falling asleep to the sound of the river. This space was exactly what we were looking for and so much more. Perfectly rustic but yet everything you could need. Great hiking trails and beautiful scenery. Cannot wait to go back ! Highly recommend!

    Kathy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew’s place is a great place to go and enjoy his rustic cabin. It was very peaceful this time of year. We loved walking on his property, enjoying the scenery and the river which flows in front of the cabin. The bed was comfortable and the wood burning stove made it cozy warm. You can always use the heaters provided if you don’t want to put on a fire. Andrew was there to answer any questions we had also. We would definitely recommend his place.

    Mary Ann2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy log cabin was perfect for a city getaway for 2. The wood stove heated the place wonderfully in -30C temperature. The kitchen was exceptionally stocked with pots, pans and cutlery (more than I expected) and the place was incredibly clean. The overall location was great, quite close to hiking trails in the Madawaska valley. It was less private than I expected (could see other properties and the host home out our window), but overall still a great stay! Would recommend.

    Maggie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely rustic cabin. Perfect for a small group (3 - 4). The location for winter activities is endless. With so many trails to explore on the property and the surrounding parks near by. The river is very picturesque if you like to take photos. We really enjoyed our snowy hikes. and the backroads to Round Land Center offer a ton of scenery as well as antiquing if you are into that.

  • This was the perfect end of winter getaway ! We were cozy and warm for the most part - I’m permanently cold no matter what but the fireplace did wonders! Hiked around and enjoyed the views. The clear night sky was amazing! Will definitely make this a recurring trip.

    Sheyanne2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great opportunity to try out solo camping with a safety net. The view from the cabin was spectacular and the fireplace was a luxurious treat- really glamping at its finest. The dog and I enjoyed exploring the many trails in solitude, waking up to the sun, listening to the animals by the campfire at night. The cabin was spotlessly clean and modern. Hosts were available when needed but otherwise didn't see or hear from them - thanks, everything was perfect.

    Shannon2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Tracker's cabin was the perfect rustic winter getaway for two friends. The cabin was thoughtfully organized, perfectly heated by a gas fireplace with thermostat and the beds were comfortable. Zac N Steph, responsive and thoughtful hosts, provided great touches, like books on local history, a coffee percolator with coffee, and hanging hooks everywhere to name a few. I truly appreciated the water jug that was provided and the option to purchase firewood. We also enjoyed walking on the main packed trails and brought our snowshoes to complete some of the side trails. The view through the front windows of the cabin was like having a lookout to yourself, very private and overlooking the lake, hills behind, and sunrise/sunset through the trees. Cannot wait to come back here in other seasons!

    Nathalie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot speak highly enough of this gem. Beautiful cabin with an unreal view of golden lake and its surrounding. An extensive network of trails and extremely welcoming hosts. I'll definitely be back.

    Lynne2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing location, the hiking trails are a workout but so beautiful! Zac and Steph are wonderful hosts who go above and beyond. All of our belongings were shuttled up to our cabin with the option of a ride. We chose to walk. We will definitely be back to check out the other cabins. Our entire stay was stress free with a warm, inviting feel! Zac and Stephs cabins are an absolute must see!

    Adam2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

  • Highly recommend! We had a great time and loved the space. We would have loved to have stayed several more days! Very peaceful, cozy and relaxing. I loved the wood stove, and the books that were made available. There was an incident with flooding in the cottage next door due to weather, and our hosts had to access the basement in our cottage to turn off the water in the other — but they were so sorry about it, and gave us a bottle of wine to express their apology. They also replaced our toaster that didn’t work within an hour of me asking them. Very responsive and they obviously care a great deal about their homes and their guests. Also a lovely town, the locals were wonderful. A great way to celebrate our anniversary! 5 stars.

    Rebekah2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge is situated on a quiet road, off a fairly busy road. There are several properties close by to each other, a community fire pit, snowshoes, etc. There is a steep hill that leads to the waterfront, which is very hard to access in the winter with all the ice, but it's still very beautiful to look at. We chose this space because it was much close to Algonquin Park (about 45min-1hr) than to Toronto, so we went for some day hiking and came back to the lodge to read and relax by the fire. Comfy beds, nice hot shower, and cozy furniture to snuggle up in. A great spot to visit in the winter!

  • Nice view of the lake with the fall colours! Lots of access to hiking and outdoor activities. Close to town which was fun to check out the shops and local attractions. Nice and quiet, has everything you need.

  • We had such a great stay in Cynthias place. Such a beautiful spot to relax, clean and cozy. Would certainly stay again if in the area.

  • Wonderful cottage very close to Algonquin. I would definitely recommend!

    Chrizelle2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's cottage is exactly what it's described as: A rustic cabin on the lake front. And that's just perfect. Everything you might need for a quiet weekend at the lake is there, two beds, a bathroom with a shower, a kitchen with everything you need to prepare dinner, an indoor fireplace, firepit, BBQ, even a stand up paddle boat. The location is absolutely beautiful and if you need some time out of the city and just sit at the lake watching the stars this is the right place to be. A Grocery store can be reached by car in like ten minutes in case you forgot to bring the steaks for the BBQ. Also Algonquin Park with all its trails is close by, although the countryside around the cottage is just as nice. I'd definitely come again!

    Nikolas2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Johnny and Cynthia We very much enjoyed our stay at your quaint cottage. Sitting out on the deck overlooking the water was so peaceful and serene. An evening bonfire was a wonderful way to end each day. We enjoyed our BBQ's and meals outside along with hearing the birds sing and the loons calling out. Johnny your tomatoes from the garden were so delicious...made for great BLTs. It's a great location as we were able to explore going to some of the surrounding lakes and of course nearby Algonquin Park. We had originally booked for 3 nights...after we spent a few days there...we were having so much fun... we extended our stay for another couple of nights.

  • We had a lovely stay at Matt's cottage. We went during Thanksgiving and the view was amazing with all the colours of fall. The place was perfectly clean and as described. Matt always answered quickly to our questions before our arrival. I recommand this place if you are looking for a quiet place in nature.

    Sara2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is beautifu!! It was so clean and organized when I first walked through the door. Views of the lake are beautiful from the main floor. The cabin has a very rustic and cozy feel to it. Very quiet area and beautiful sunsets. There was also firewood already prepared for us, which was a nice touch. We will definitely be visiting back again.

  • Val’s cottage at Golden Lake looks tiny from the outside, but the thoughtful layout, fantastic view and unbeatable price make it a great deal. We enjoyed fishing, campfires, stunning sunsets and incredible dark sky conditions for star gazing. She really went above and beyond to make sure that there were activities and s’mores for the kids, and the campfire wood was dry and prepared for us upon arrival. In the middle of a strong wind storm the cottage stayed cozy and warm. The upstairs ‘kids zone’ was a hit with the cousins. Would love to come back when we are back in the neighborhood.

  • The location of the house is just awesome, with the view on the lake, the sunset is just WHOA!!! The house is comfortable, with all the equipments we need, and the bed is really excellent. The communication also with the host was fast and efficient And the final touch, a small bottle of maple sirup to welcome. It’s was perfect thanks for that

  • Amazing time on family Day weekend. View of the lake was great, house is cozy and warmed up upon arrival. Love the style, price and location. Definitely will return to this property 👍

  • Very cozy stay with added touches like hot chocolate, cream, coffee and chocolates. It was very handy to see toothbrushes, toothpaste and shampoo on hand if we needed. The sunset view was gorgeous. Thanks so much!

  • This is a great place to stay. The cottage is very cozy, decorated nicely, well maintained, clean and inviting. Great view of golden lake right out the back door. We stayed in January got a bit of snow overnight and it was promptly cleaned up the next morning. Val is quick to communicate and has gone the extra mile thinking of common things you may have forgotten to bring on your trip and has a coffee selection and some chocolates kicking around too. Comfortable like home I would recommend this stay.

    Steve2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage has been well maintained and pride in ownership shows. I love the character. Walking out to the back deck you will see nothing but water , breath taking to see all of God beauty at the door step! Cozy, quaint and so many personal touches! Yummy coffee choices, chocolates and all the fixings for your coffee and tea to!

    Blair2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, nice people. Very clean and cosy house. Feels like at home. Best recommendation!!! Thank you so much.

    Sergii2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! It was bigger than I expected-lots of room! We had three couples, a baby and my son spent one night there too and we never felt cramped for space. The beds are super comfy (I have a bad back and I slept great). It’s an older cottage so the kitchen cupboards, wood floors, and doors are a bit rustic and not necessarily on square, but it’s spic and span with lots of nice unexpected touches. There was coffee, cream & sugar and Lindor and Quality street chocolates! Even a whole Toblerone, if it struck your fancy. Yum! There was tasteful Christmas decor touches too, in keeping with the season. The shower pressure was awesome-better than at home. Lots of room to park too. The Bell tv and wifi worked great for the kids, though I just used my own data. I imagine in the summer it’s amazing being right on the beach. We didn’t really cook or eat there, but the kitchen looked well stocked with pans, cups, utensils etc. For us, we just needed a place to sleep while enjoying family Christmas celebrations nearby so it was perfect and extremely affordable! Val responded quickly each time when I had questions too. I’m trying to think of any negatives, but I really can’t think of any. It was a bit warm at night, but we just turned down the heat to what we wanted. It’s a bit of a drive to bigger centres, but we knew that when we booked. Either way we loved it! A straight A place, in my opinion! Now I want to stay there in the summer too:)

  • Elizabeth and David warmly welcomed us by going through the apartment and letting us know how everything worked. They made themselves available should we have had any questions, which we didn’t! Our stay was a very relaxing and perfect for what we wanted to do.

    Terry2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Elizabeth’s studio apartment for a few weeks in October and found it very comfortable with all the amenities that we needed and so quiet. Autumn is such a beautiful time to experience the lake and the Bonnechere byways as the colors are breathtaking. I would highly recommend a stay here.

  • A lovely place in the woods. Great place to unwind for a few days. The leaves in the fall were beautiful!

    Diana2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I have been coming here for the last three year and are never disappointed. We will continue to come here as long as we can as it’s the highlight of our summer. Thanks again for everything!

  • Elizabeth and David are welcoming and friendly hosts and their place is the perfect spot to relax and experience lake life. The studio apartment is well equipped, clean, comfortable and cozy with wonderful views. Clear lake is beautiful and it was an absolute joy to explore it in the kayak, the canoe and the paddle boat. We highly recommend this place and would love to go back some day.

    Angela2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is perfectly furnished and is totally the description. DREAMY VIEW and wonderful peace. In addition, lovely hosts, who have accommodated us well. As a highlight, we were invited to a boat trip in dream weather. On top of that are the guest kayak and pedal boat available. The whole area including barbecue and cabin with various seating options can be used. The house is perfect for longer stays. The gas grill is also for cooking

    Wolfgang2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed here for a "work from home" getaway and had a fantastic time. Elizabeth and David were friendly and made us feel very welcome while giving us our privacy during our stay. They have canoes, kayaks, everything you could need to enjoy the outdoor space! Only catch was that the wifi couldn't quite handle two separate people on high-bandwidth video calls, but we didn't mind making a quick trip into town to take care of work in the mornings. Overall would recommend the place to anyone, it is amazing value you for money and a perfect getaway.

Country comfort in your own private area in the heart of the Ottawa Valley. A wonderful nature filled experience on the Bonnechere River, with private beach, night time campfire and luxury indoor comfort. Your glamper is solar & propane powered, very eco friendly! Lots of extras!
Paddle the Bonnechere river in a canoe, or kayaks or a paddle boat for a small rental fee. We raise ducks for eggs, they wonder the property, so if you're bringing a pet please keep on a leash. Maybe you'll be adventurous and try duck eggs for breakfast!
We're a short drive from Eganville & Barry's Bay both offering great little shops, cafes, and good dining. Also a couple of restaurants within 10 minutes
  • Cute place! Great view of the lake !

    Erika2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful sunsets and sunrises, really enjoyed my stay here. Marilyn was so welcoming and the place was perfect for an escape into the wilderness without having to pitch a tent!

    Alexandra2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely and thoughtfully refurbished camper, I had a very good glamping end to camping season!

    Thomas2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fantastic - I spent the evening sitting on the little dock under the moon, watching her reflection ripple across the river. It was unseasonably cold while I was there and a bit difficult to heat the space but Marilyn was diligent in attempting to find solutions to keep me warm and cozy. The space is a bit low (I am quite tall) so something to consider if you are like me, on the larger, taller side of the human spectrum, but otherwise a lovely place to stay. (And they have geese and ducks with amazing personalities!)

    Shay2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn’s camper is a little gem nestled long the River. Don’t miss this unique experience.

    Bob2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely experience on the Bonnechere River. We were super cozy and really enjoyed walking in the woods and sitting by the water. Super comfortable bed, wonderful deck, and pretty much everything you'd need for a weekend getaway. While there is solar power, the AC outlets don't work, so you're best off not relying on electronics without batteries and packing a portable battery charger (Marilyn lent us one of hers!). Thoughtful touches, super clean, and ready for a weekend of book-binging and hanging on the water.

    Caitlin2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Superb stay in a beautiful setting.

    Romain2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn's space is a fantastic spot to unwind and disconnect from the world for a couple of days. Marilyn and Mike met us when we arrived to show us around. They made sure that we had everything we might have needed and that we knew how everything worked. The bed was very comfortable, and the indoor space was a great size for two people and a dog! The outdoor space is nice and private, and you have direct access to a barbecue, a fire pit, the riverfront, as well as a canoe and kayaks. We took the kayaks out onto the water and had a great time. Overall, I would highly recommend staying with Marilyn and Mike, and I will definitely keep their place in mind for future trips!

This lovely home is clean and comfortable for your vacation with a recently renovated basement. It is steps to downtown shops, restaurants, and groceries in one direction; and to the beach, boat launch, and church in the other. There is a BBQ in the large, shaded backyard along with a picnic table and chairs.
The interior is very cozy with a full kitchen both upstairs and down. There are six twin beds in three bedrooms plus a pullout couch that could sleep two more. The living area has hardwood and the bedrooms have laminate flooring to by hypoallergenic.
The street is very quiet. Barry’s Bay is quite small so you can walk everywhere within the town, including to the water. The lake is small so the water gets very warm. Algonquin Park is a 20 minute drive away with some of the best hiking in the province.
  • We had a truly amazing stay! Barry’s Bay is an adorable town that’s very visitor friendly. The lake near the house is stunning. I highly recommend sunset or sunrise. The house has many thoughtful touches that make you feel at home. Very cosy and clean! The hosts are very helpful and gave us great recommendations.

  • Wonderful stay at Liam's place. Quiet. Not far from Algonquin Park and many lakes. Close to all amenities.

    Juliana2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Barry's Bay, at Liam's. There is what we expect: the beauty of the scenery a few miles from Algonquin Park. And what we discover: the Polish imprint of places and especially the very nice home of Liam and his family. The accommodation is rustic but warm, full of testimonials from people who have lived here.

    Laurence2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cottge is exactly as described. We only used the upper floor with kitchen and bathroom and living area and our total stay was 3 days. We appreciated the wifi and the location in Barrys Bay on a quiet street with parking and wifi and cooking facilities which served us for our short stay. Although the cottage does not have airconditioning there are ceiling fans and we did not feel the heat during our stay in perfect summer weather we enjoyed during our stay. The lake which is close by has a lovely swimming beach. We wish we had more time to enjoy this lovely area. Liam was excellent with communication and available to answer questions. Thank you so much.

  • Our family had a great time. The home was comfy, clean and had all the amenities required for a quick trip. We arrived later than expected and spent most of the day white water rafting, so really spent one night here. But we loved the experience and have nothing to complain about! The host, Liam, was thoughtful and kept us informed of his availability and facilities. He was helpful and accommodated our delay in reaching and our request to check out later. This was my first experience with airb&b and loved the feeling of a home stay much more than hotels! We also met Liam's cutest little daughter !

  • Great location to town amenities as well as to highway for further excursions. We appreciated the backyard patio for our meals.

  • The Boathouse was an amazing little getaway from the city. Not much around was open which we expected in the middle of winter. We had such a lovely chat with our hosts who had lots of local activity recommendations which we really enjoyed.

  • A beautiful home over a lake that is bar none one of the greatest views to wake up too.

Named as a tribute to the local First Nations peoples, The Algonquin Cottage features native heritage furnishings of high quality, together with holiday reading materials in tune with tradition and lakeside living.
This large two bedroom cottage is set apart a bit from the rest, giving the tenants a feeling of being all alone on a private lake. Uniquely decorated using the beautiful colors of a Hudson's Bay Blanket - this cottage offers you a warm feeling from the moment you enter. A cast iron / propane fireplace in the corner makes for a perfect spot to curl up with a coffee on a chilly fall morning. Two spacious bedrooms complete with comfy pillows, beautiful quilts and down duvets (should you need them) adorn the charming bedroom furnishings. A beautiful deck overlooking Golden Lake allows plenty of room to barbeque, sit and visit and of course to set up that tripod to take some of the most amazing nature shots that you will ever see. The best part of this cottage is the unique collection of books and moose decor in honour of Algonquin Park and First Nations People. You will enjoy your experience catching up on local history and these close connections to both Algonquin Park and First Nations at Pikwakanagan on Golden Lake. This connected history enhances your vacation to the Ottawa Valley and leaves you wanting to return again and again. *****During the months of July and August the cottage is rented by the week only (Saturday-Saturday). 1100$ per week. ******

  • This is a beautiful, clean and cozy cabin right on the water with a lovely view looking West. The resort has bikes, canoes, hiking trails close by and we made full use. The cabin was kept toasty warm with the fireplace even though outside temperature dipped below zero one of the nights. Mike at the resort was very helpful. Thanks for a great weekend!

  • Cozy cabin in beautiful location! The individuality of the cabin particularly appealed to us. Cozy and cozy! The stove warms everything up quickly and gives the room a lot of atmosphere It was a shame that we only slept 2 nights. Highly recommended!

  • 4 nights in a cabin in Canada as we imagine! The view of the lake is splendid, at any time of the day. A beautiful experience with beautiful memories

  • Great cabin, exactly as described. Outstanding views of the lake! Very quiet. Good beds. The bathroom is on the small side but the water pressure & temperature was perfect. The Algonquin Park Passes were a great perk. Cindy went above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and shared local tips with us. Highly recommended!

Inviting and well-kept room in a 2 storey townhouse located in a quiet family neighbourhood, near the best ice cream store. My cat, Coco, keeps to himself and seldom appears but is friendly when he looks for attention.
My home reflects everything I love: my family, my cat, food and gardening. You will enjoy the homeliness and indoor garden.
Quiet family neighbourhood. Close to Brum’s Ice Cream (which is good or bad depending on your diet)
  • Nita is a delightful & friendly host that enjoys chatting with her guests if they're open to it. She is a very warm and generous host and person. She made me eggs and bacon for breakfast and my favourite tea every morning and evening. She is also respectful of people's need for quiet time. She is eager to please her guests. Nita is well-known and liked in Pembroke as she runs her own business. The bed was super comfortable and great water pressure. I would definitely stay here again!

  • This place is magical in every way: the view, the porch, beautifully designed interior, the comfort, the woodstove..... the list could go on and on

  • We had a wonderful winter stay at Jeff & Jeff's place! Jeff (1/2) was very friendly and greeted us on arrival to show us around. The cottage is everything you could dream of, right on the lake, hot tub and a wood stove, beautifully decorated and squeaky clean.

  • J and J were very friendly, responsive and respectful of our privacy. They provided everything we could need. The cottage is quintessential Canadiana. Cozy and romantic. I highly recommend this cottage if it’s available.

  • Amazing little cottage and even better hot tub looking over looking the lake! Jeff and Jeff were awesome hosts. The place was way more than we expected and sparkling clean !

    Deanna2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful home. Hot tub is a great feature especially in the winter. Heated floors in the bathroom were fantastic especially for those cool mornings. Jeff and Jeff were very kind and shovelled out our car after the big snowfall the night before. Thank you again Jeff and Jeff we hope to come back!

    Jessica2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location, perfect little cabin, I’ve already recommended it to friends, would definitely rent it again. Thanks guys!

    Niall2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Jeff were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable in their cozy space. They made sure we knew how to use all the amenities available and were always prompt to respond if we had a questions. This space was perfect for a relaxing weekend and was fully stocked with all amenities as well as personal touches (welcome basket and stoked fire) You can tell Jeff and Jeff take pride in hosting and helped ensure our weekend went off with out a hitch. Also noteworthy there was a huge dumping of snow overnight before our departure and they came before checkout to make sure we could get out of the driveway - they dug our car out and sent us on our way. We can’t wait to go back!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this house. On arrival, there were several vases of seasonal flowers that seemed freshly picked from Janice's garden. A nice attention! There is all the necessary equipment for a family, in addition to the beach toys we brought to Bonnechere Park Beach. Very good location to visit the beaches of the area. Janice is very attentive to answer our questions, both before and during our stay. We really enjoyed the house, especially with the central air conditioning system when it's over 30 degrees;)
