Places to stay in Kilgarvan
Our small studio with its mini loft, fully equipped kitchen and wood stove will provide you with a cosy refuge after a day's trek or a trip to the sea. We are located in a beautiful, tranquil and remote valley up a windy road at the foothills of mount Mangerton, 10 mins from the main Kenmare road. The studio is across the yard from our family home and surrounded by a beautiful mature garden which you're welcome to explore. The studio contains a Bluetooth sound system and a washing machine.
This small studio built next to a traditional stone house is situated at the foothills of Mangerton, one of the highest mountains in Ireland. The studio is on the ground of a mature garden with a large vegetable plot, lots of flowers, a poly tunnel, a greenhouse and a few hens. Guests are welcomed to vegetables and herbs. A windmill and the solar panels provide the apartment with renewable energy and hot water to guarantee a truly sustainable stay! We provide a few eggs on arrival providing the hens are laying. The studio is quite small but cosy. It consists of a small bathroom with toilet and shower, a fully equipped kitchenette, a main room with a wood burning stove, a sofa (turns into a double bed) also a small loft which holds a double bed with a beautiful view on the mountains. There is possibility to eat outside . Although we do not provide breakfast, the kitchen contains coffee, jam, butter, milk, cereals, eggs, oil and condiments. We also provide bed clothes and towels. The bathroom is equipped with soap, shampoo and conditioner and hair dryer. It is an ideal location for anyone looking for peace and quiet in the Kerry hills with a great choice of walking and maybe if you are lucky, a sighting of the White Tail eagle! The lovely town of Kenmare reputed for its restaurants, pubs and markets is 20 minutes away by car. If you are interested in traditional music you can find it in Kilgarvan every Thursday where local musicians meet up or equally in Kenmare various pubs. From there numerous day trips are possible either along the northern peninsula with the ring of Kerry or towards the south with the equally beautiful Ring of Beara. Killarney is on the other side of the mountain and can be reached by car in 40 minutes or by foot for the truly adventurous!
We are at 5 km from the village in the middle of the Kerry mountains. Mangerton stands right behind our house, it takes about 2 hours to reach the top where you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the region that stretches all the bay to Kenmare Bay and the Killarney Lakes in the other direction. On the summit, you will find two cavernous glacially formed lakes, one of which is the famous Devil's Punchbowl.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Eco Cottage. We arrived later than we expected... And it was raining so we didn't see much of the unique yard and setting. The space was very clean, cozy and had everything needed. We especially enjoyed the little wood stove. The loft bed was very comfortable and the loft plenty roomy. You need to follow the directions well to get there, but it is a fun drive up the road! Overall....Recommended!

  • The place was perfect, so quiet and beautiful, everything was very environmental friendly, We really appreciated the perfect wooden work and the whole design of the place

  • Lovely and in the middle of true nature. Everything was perfect here!

    Hannah2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovey few days at this small but charming cabin. Isabelle and Gerry were great hosts. Friendly and helpful but also gave us space and to be admired for their eco living.

    Aideen2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The calm and the surrounding beauty give to this lodging a unique charm. The spaces are small but there is everything needed, and even more: what breakfast and jams made by Isabelle made home! Gerry and Isabelle welcomed us in the middle of their beautiful garden, and the explanations for getting to the accommodation were perfect! Only downside of housing, the shower that spills too much water on the floor of the bathroom. If you fancy a change of scenery, Isabelle's accommodation is ideal. A big favorite for the wood stove and the room with a view of the mountains!

    Sandra2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The studio, is in a picturesque setting, a 10 min drive from Kilgarvan down a windy Irish road, to a very cosy spot, it had everything we needed including a fireplace, which was a real treat. It was the perfect spot for us to rest our heads at night after exploring the ring of Kerry and the dingle peninsula. Was just the retreat we were looking for.

The Cottage at Graylodge is nestled in the beautiful Roughty Valley not far from Kenmare and Kilgarvan. This beautiful cottage is surrounded by mountain on 3 sides and is situated in the middle of a 600 acre forest. It is a hill walker and mountaineer's dream as there are short hikes or longer treks to the top of mountain peaks which look over the beautiful Kenmare Bay. Come and enjoy fresh air, mountain walks and magical trails through the land that time forgot in beautiful rural Ireland.
The cottage has recently been converted to a very high spec with warm wooden floors, tiled bathroom with electric shower, and some of the most beautiful views - which often include passing deer and wildlife.
We are lucky to be at the end of the laneway and surrounded by pine forest, so there are umpteen beautiful walks. You can follow the mountain track or climb the mountain opposite to see the sea. Our nearest town, Kenmare is one of the prettiest towns in Kerry and boasts a wide variety of top class restaurants, cafes and pubs.
  • If you want an isolated night stay with access to trails this is perfect. Certainly fae and darling. Only concern is the road to it is a long single car dirt road, be cautious and try to come in and out when it is light out.

    Chandler2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved our stay here!! Check in & out was very easy. The property is amazing. Beautiful views any direction you look with great trails throughout. I especially enjoyed the swing at the end of the fairy trail. I only wish we booked our stay for longer.

  • Cozy tiny house in a magical location, it is remarkable how much effort Sophie & Mat put in their home. Loved every minute, we will be back!

    Madeline2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie’s place is a magical retreat. Her partner Matt was there to greet us when we arrived and was so friendly and kind. The tiny house is modern and cozy, with views from several windows of the beautiful mountains and landscape. The bed was also very comfy! We wish we could have stayed for a week.

    Amber2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • One lovely peaceful place this was. The views from the window were breathtakingly beautiful. The little fairie houses, hand paintings added on to the already cute place. Matt and Sophie were very welcoming.. So were their dogs. Location wise "bang on".

    Anand2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous, cosy nest in a beautiful location. A real escape from reality. The place was spotless with great cooking facilities and the few bits and pieces in the fridge were a lovely surprise - IPA and hard boiled eggs. Yum. 10/10

    Dominic2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best 3 nights sleep on our whole trip to Ireland so far. The faerie trail was spectacular as well as the trail going up the mountain. Don't miss this wonderful place!!!

  • Thomas and his family are wonderful hosts and their home is great for any stopover near Kenmare.

    Connor2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas is a very nice and obliging host. Thanks to Thomas's directions, the accommodation was also well located. The room was very neat and clean and nicely decorated. The next morning there was breakfast with enough choice. It was a good start to the day. All in all it was a nice stay.

  • Lovely family, lovely accommodation, lovely location and altogether lovely experience with Thomas and his family, and a real joy to be genuinely accepted as part of the family for our stay. Thomas was absolutely a superhost in all respects and our stay was exceptional in terms of the experience - and in terms of value for money. (Len)

Our private cabin is four miles outside the heritage town of Kenmare, its 50 restaurants and its fantastic music. The Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara are on our doorstep. You can't see the lights of any other houses from here. Peace and tranquillity guaranteed.
There is a large open plan kitchen/dining/living area with a cozy wood burning stove. A spiral staircase leads to a huge bedroom with its own relaxation/meditation/creation station.
Our self contained and private cabin is situated in a quiet and beautiful valley, underneath Knockbrack Mountain four miles from Kenmare.
  • Not one thing could be faulted about this accommodation, from booking communication to check-in to local tips. Retreat is the perfect term for this Airbnb - you automatically feel like you're away from all of life's problems. The house was cosy and relaxing, especially the meditation area in the upstairs and the sheer abundance of books. Chris also gave us some tips for places to visit, which we followed up on by travelling the Ring of Beara nearby - it was spectacular. It's a truly amazing place to visit!

    Shane2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. It's been our little home on vacation and we had a wonderfull time. Cosy fireplace and exelent book collection. Everything is working and in perfect shape. The bedroom upstairs is realy nice with a beautifull mountain view. Chris and Jill are super nice people and will help with anything you need. Location is perfect for seeing the Ring of Kerry and Beara. This is one to come back to. Thank you Chris and Jill, big warm hug from us!!

  • Chris was a fantastic host - I highly reccomend his place - it's a great getaway from it all location - perfect for a quiet relaxing weekend but yet still close to Kenmare

    Damien2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful space in amazing surroundings. Sparklingly clean, tidy and with everything we needed and more. Chris was the perfect host; provided us with lots of information, lit the log burner for us on a couple of cold and windy nights and was attentive without intruding on our privacy. We would definitely recommend.

  • Chris's place is one of the nicest Aibnb's I've stayed in. The place was immaculate, he was so responsive to messages (definitely the nicest and friendliest host I've encountered) and the location is definitely as described - a mountain retreat! I would 100% recommend and we will be back. Thanks Chris!!!

  • Chris, who is an amazing host, has a real diamond in the mountains just 15min by car from Kenmare. The place is sparkling clean, cozy and beautiful. He even offered to set up a fire for us before coming home so that we could be warm at our arrival. Amazing! Hope we can come back soon.

Comfortable, bright and spacious room with en-suite in relaxing rural retreat. We also have a lovely twin room listed separately. Continental breakfast included. Outdoor seating with mountain and valley views. Large private garden. We are animal lovers and have a friendly rescue Greyhound.
Our home is set in a very rural area so you may be lucky enough to spot Irish hares, foxes and deer in the garden.
Kilgarvan village is 4.5 Km (3 miles) from our house and has a RC church, petrol station, shops, post office and three pubs. Kenmare is 15 Km (9.5 miles) from us and is thriving small town with a good selection of shops (including pharmacies), churches, excellent restaurants and pubs, a heritage trail and golf club. A little further away (about 30 minutes drive) is Killarney which is a larger town with a beautiful National Park offering wonderful walks and many other activities.

This spacious 4 double bedroom bungalow offers panoramic views from all windows. Escape from the hustle and bustle and enjoy several country walks along the salmon famed Slaheny river - stop to witness the salmon leap the water fall. This rural setting is only a short 15 minute drive to Kenmare town, famous for its restaurants and on the ring of Kerry route. Killarney is 25 minutes away. Enjoy a pint of Guinness in the local pub whilst you are entertained by traditional music and songs.
A very well stocked house, with all necessities, to help make your stay a lovely experience.
There is so much to do and see that you will find yourself rebooking. Killarney is well worth a visit, especially Muckross House and Gardens, where you can explore the famous lakes. Bantry and West Cork are also well worth visiting for the views and history. Take the short ferry ride to Garnish Island to see Ireland's only Mediterranean plants. Kenmare has so much to explore - a lot to do with children - crazy golf, water sports and a trip out on the Seafari to see the seals and hawks is an enjoyable experience. Do pop into O Shuillleabhain's in Kilgarvan too on a Friday night to share in the local sing song and friendly banter!
  • Mary is a great host. Very flexible. He helped us a lot in this business stay. His house is very cozy and has a lot of space and nature. We recommend!

    Patrícia2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very large house with all the necessary comfort. 4 large bedrooms, 2 with en-suite shower room (sink, shower, wc). In the countryside 15 km from Kenmare. We would have liked to meet Mary during our stay (5 nights).

    Jean Jo2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a lovely house. Warm, clean and comfortable. Mary is very quick to respond and is anxious to help in any way she can. Her sister is close by if you require any assistance. The house is quite large (4 bedrooms and would sleep 6 people without any issue) There is a washing machine in the house (large and easy to operate). We had a lovely stay and would return again without hesitation and we would recommend the house to friends.

    Amer2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Mary's house! It is a beautiful home in a wonderful location, remote enough to be able to disconnect but so many great things to do nearby. The house was easily able to accommodate our large group. Mary is an amazing host, she has many suggestions for activities nearby and is very responsive to every message. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in County Kerry!

  • What a perfect spot this house has! We drove to all the peninsulas who were close by. The surroudings are quiet and stunning. The house is large enough for a big family. We were only two people, but we like the great kitchen and cosy familyroom. The sister-in-law lives across the street as is availsble as you need anything. If you're looking for a nice house in a perect location this is a great bargain !!

  • Fantastic place to stay in the heart of the Kingdom of Kerry. Located in a lovely area with beautiful views, very close to Kenmare town. Perfect for families. We will definitely return.

    Gerry & Margaret2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Louise's house has one of the best views you can get. Not to mention the proximity to supermarkets and Kenmare town and also the highway (ring of Kerry, Moll's Gap, Killarney, etc.) The house is huge and yet very cozy - perfect for a family getaway. We stayed over Christmas and things like the Christmas tree and fireplace were a nice touch. Nothing lacking with any of the household amenities either. Louise was also very quick with any help we needed. I would definitely recommend staying at her place.

    Robin2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for the stay, it was a lovely home!

    Geoffrey2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Louise’s place exceeded our expectations! We stayed there as a family of four with 2 children (7 & 4) and were joined by my brother. We had ample space to relax in addition to all of the amenities we needed. The Airbnb gave us a great footing to drive the Ring of Kerry and we also found ourselves content exploring some of the local towns, especially Killarney. Thank you Louise for one of the best experiences I’ve had using airbnb! Lovely host who responds quickly to questions.

  • This place is right out of the move Babe the Pig! Such an awesome stay. Here our stay at Monique and Kevin’s place was the best part of our trip!

    Kelly2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Monique was a great host! She was quick to reply to messages about getting to the Airbnb. The room we stayed in had a double bed and it was very comfortable. There was also an attached bathroom within the room. Everything was clean and what we expected. We were also able to see some sheep while we were there! Overall a great experience!

    Ashwini2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Monique & Kevin's place. After being away from our pets for a week we were thrilled to spend some time with theirs! I loved staying on the farm, even if it was for only 1 evening. Made us feel very much at home! They have a very clean and beautiful home. I highly recommend!

    Tammy2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing spot! Monique and Kevin are lovely hosts. The room is spacious, warm and that shower... THAT SHOWER... Is brilliant. We were coming home to a warm wood fire, greeted by the hosts and two of their 4 friendly dogs. Monique had a pot of tea and some bread ready for us. Slept like a log. We explored the farmland next morning, and were guided by them to a waterfall that's on their land. Amazing. Absolutely wonderful and will definitely stay again.

  • Adrian and Noreen were very kind and welcoming hosts, which we were very grateful for being in a tired and shabby state after a day of cycling in the rain. They really took care of us; and the dogs were very friendly and welcoming as well! The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The house is handsome, with a beautiful stream flowing alongside not far from the breakfast room. Healthy, nutritious breakfast cooked by Adrien, and advice on the roads, set us off on a great day the next day to Moll's Gap. Highly recommend!

A wonderfully restored traditional farmhouse ten minutes from the beautiful old market town of Kenmare and its excellent pubs and restaurants, cafés and shops. Nestled in the Roughty valley and minutes from the beginning of a day tour on the Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara or to continue winding your way along the Wild Atlantic Way.
A top class double bedroom with adjoining en-suite bathroom and views across the Roughty valley.
We're in a very quiet and peaceful location, close to the Owenbeg river, secluded but not isolated as Kenmare is just ten minutes away. There are no street lights and so we enjoy the stars on a clear night.
  • We had an excellent nights sleep at Nathalie’s house. The room is immaculately presented with some very thoughtful touches. We found the room to be spotless. Bryan has an excellent knowledge of the local area, which will help enhance any visit. I highly recommend this house to any couple wanting a lovely place to stay while visiting the Kenmare area.

  • Don’t hesitate to book! Nathalie and Bryan have a beautiful space. You have your own room and bathroom. They have two lovely dogs, Gaston and Murphy. And they make you a lovely breakfast, with some of the best scones I have tasted. On our visit there was some heavy rain so the WiFi reception wasn’t the best in our rooms but it was significantly better in the living room where you were more than welcome to relax in. Bryan planned a route for our trip, so that we could stop at different towns on our way to Galway. Overall a wonderful experience, would definitely book again.

  • Very nice B&B with very kind and friendly hosts. Loveley restored old farmhouse. We enjoyed our stay so much.

  • We had a very great stay at Nathalie's home. She and her husband were so friendly and helped us in so many ways. The room is absolutely beautiful and decorated with pictures she painted on her own. The bathroom is very big and was really clean and had a bathtub which you can also use as a shower. Nathalie made a great breakfast for us and baked scones. Unfortunately they didn't allowed us to use the kitchen, but they gave us good tips where to eat something. In the room we also found some apples, tea and water. So we would definitely recommend this beautiful accommodation!

  • Very attentive hosts with excellent accommodation and amenities. Sparking clean and comfortable. The location is excellent for exploring the stunning Rings of Kerry and Beara.

  • We stayed two nights in Nathalie's lovingly restored old farmhouse. We were warmly received and our hosts had good tips for our stay. Nathalie prepared us a very tasty breakfast every morning. We highly recommend staying at Nathalies and Bryans home. Merci beaucoup 😊

This is a GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE AREA piece I have written for Kenmare Chamber/Tourism Kenmare Bay/Inbhear Scéine (Ir.) is a 50mile long, narrow sea inlet sheltered between Iveragh peninsula with Ireland’s highest mountain range and the wild, bare uplands of Beara to the south. The bay is very accessible along its length with many harbours, inlets and creeks. It is 18km at its mouth, narrowing gradually as it bisects and separates scenic mature woodlands. There are a number of islands on the bay the most extensive being Dinish and Dunkerron islands close to Kenmare town. Kenmare is now home to the largest raptor in Europe, the white-tailed sea eagle which has nesting sites on the bay. The bay also has a large colony of seals. It is a popular destination for sea angling, sea cruises and sail training and sea sports. The bay is significant for its micro-climate, which encourages an ecological biodiversity of lush vegetation and natural habitats. The area is outstanding for the richness of historical and archaeological which remain intact. Several hundred archaeological sites lie close to the shoreline and stone circles, standing stones and other monuments abound. In the old mythological tales written in the 12th century by Irish monks, Kenmare Bay is cited as the supposed landing of the last invasion of Ireland by Milesians and the Irish name for the bay, Inbhear Scéine, is linked to these tales. Kenmare’s most iconic symbol is its double-arched Art Deco bridge, which spans Kenmare Bay at its narrowest point. The bridge is a focal point for the spectacular sunsets, which light up the western skies and the waters of the bay. At the innermost corner of the bay is Kenmare, a pretty, heritage town with the intimacy and feel of a village. It offers seafood and fine dining, traditional music and quality accommodation all in a surprisingly compact triangle of historic buildings. Within a day’s drive of the town, the furthest reaches of both peninsulas can be accessed, making Kenmare town an ideal and popular all season destination. List Top 5 Things To See & Do in Kenmare Area All part of the Wild Atlantic Way 1.___Kenmare/Neidin town itself – Kenmare is always bustling with activity and a great place for eating and shopping. A destination with award winning standards in dining and accommodation and has everything that the visitor can want including shelter of the beautiful wooded bay and scenic views all around it with tiny coves and harbours, a bistro and glamping on the bay, pubs looking onto the bay, cafes, pubs, camping, riding, golfing, sea cruising, kayaking, bay eco seal and sea eagle watching tours. Watch the sun go down on Kenmare Bay - Spectacular sunsets over the bay and western skies from the iconic bridge south of the town and from nearby pier. Watch this you tube video for the spirit of here market day in Kenmare and the best of rumba from a west cork band combined (website hidden) dine in any number of great restaurants in beautiful Kenmare town...stroll the whole town in 5 minutes...dip in and out of the pubs and music venues all over until you have found the one for you....come home to the deep peaceful valley....get up and eat the breakfast of meusli, freshly made fruit salad, smoked salmon and artisan cheeses + the substantial and arguably the healthiest breakfast you are likely to have on your trip. Now what would you like for Day 2. Walk from here to Killarney through the national park? Swim in the pool down river? Visit the beaches out further on either peninsula?..Shop for a beautifully crafted silver or gold ring? Hang out in street cafes, eat seafood and listen to lots of music?......... Kenmare Eco Lodge is on the edge of the Beara Peninsula, a hidden gem of a tourist destination. Read on below and you will understand why. Kenmare is also on the edge of Killarney National Park and access from Kenmare is within 3klms walk /drive to waymarked sign and you are in bare mountainous national park uplands and can walk all day, to Black Valley or to Killarney lakes and avoid the mass tourism. 2.____Walk into the Killarney National Park via Old Kenmare Road – scenic mountain gap/ hill walking trail from north east of Kenmare town to Killarney National Park looking down on national park lakes and spur walks to Black Valley & Torc mountain and very scenic waterfall__________________________________________________ Go to Josie's Restaurant overlooking a glacial lake/Glanmore Lake for coffee, good lunch or dinner (good quality seafood and Kerry lamb, local cheeses etc.) and watch the sun turn the lake, woods and rocks pink. Good area for plenty of scenic walks and views. Knockatee Mountain area very special - between the coastal road and the mountain road from Tousist to Lauragh on Beara. Dereen Gardens and Kilmacillogue Pier at the foothills all worth a visit. On the way Glenichaquin Waterfall Amenity Park is midway between Lauragh and Kenmare with Clonee lakes, Uragh stone circle and The Lake House bar and restaurant on the route, R571. If you are touring the Ring of Beara, you will travel along The Healy Pass and can take advantage of the breathtaking scenery from the top. You will also travel through Castletownbere which is a large fishing port, not a big tourist town by good fresh seafood served in restaurants and a very nice historic pub, McCarthy's Bar. If you are interested in walking, the Beara Way is a must while in the area. Glanmore Lake has walks and Knockatee area, plus the whole of Caha mountains. I will tell you how to reach these and also you may ask when you get there in local restaurants, gallery and pubs for further directions Food and drink stops on R571 approx 5klms from KenmareThe Sailors Bar, Killaha and 11klm The Lake House in Clonee and 18km O'Sullivan's Bar, Kilmackillogue, Josie's Restaurant & Cafe Lauagh off R571 by the lake. There are also a number of galleries displaying the fine art works of local artists all around the Beara peninsula. All are compiled together in a brochure which I can give you called 'Our Day Out' compliled by the must see gallery Mill Cove who have a shop on Main Street, Kenmare and also in a beautiful setting by Castletownbere. Bhuddish Centre for meditation and good coffee and food cafe: This lies a few kilometers to the west of Castletownbere and in a spectacular setting. The cafe gives you a good chance to snoop around. Meditation are in the afternoons ....check them out under Dzogchen Beara. Drive back via Adrigole and Glengarriff...many things there....The blue pool harbour in the centre of the village is my favourite spot...like a Daphne duMaurier pirate cove, there is a great childrens playground, walks from the cove to the big open harbour where there are great views of the islands and bay, bamboo park walks, good coffee and cakes...boats go to Garnish Island in ten minutes, see seals on the way, other islands, gorgeous coves and then this Italian style planted island, coming back home there is Glengarriff Wildlife Park, there is a glacial lake at top of the mountains - Barley Lake, good steep walk up there. Glengarriff is only twenty minutes to Kenmare Eco Lodge, other stops on the way recommended are Lorge Choclatier, at the old post office in Bonane village, also Bonane Heritage Park. The village is but a church and the old Post Office which is a great stop as it is now a Chocolate shop - Lorge Chocolatier where Benoit Lorge serves hot chocolate and plenty of take away treats. "Aine had suggested lots of things for us to do in Kerry prior to the trip via email- Ray's Sea Safari is superb! She was also very helpful suggesting good places to eat in Kenmare the local town. Kenmare is a good base for Kerry - lots of vibrant pubs and eating places. Boy's favourite thing on our trip was coasteering with Mor Active in Caherciveen." There are diving options at Killmacillogue on Beara and on the south side of Beara also in Kenmare see Star Sailing school/club for many watersport and other sport options. Riding stables try Dromquinna as it is on the very scenic bay and just 4klms or less from town. Location: Kenmare/Neidin is located at the head of Kenmare Bay (where it reaches the farthest inland), sometimes called the Kenmare River, where the Roughty River (''An Ruachtach'') flows into the sea, and at the junction of the Iveragh Peninsula and the Beara Peninsula The traditional Irish name of the bay was ''Inbhear Scéine'' from the Celtic languages and recorded in the 11th Century narrative ''Lebor Gabála Érenn'' as the arrival point of the mythological Irish ancestor Partholón. It is also located near the Macgillycuddy's Reeks, Mangerton Mountain and Caha Mountains all popular hillwalking destinations. Nearby towns and villages are Killarney, Bantry, Glengarriff, Tuosist, Ardgroom, Templenoe and Sneem. further on the Kenmare/Kenmare Bay on The Wild Atlantic Way: Gateway to the most spectacularly unspoiled Beara and Iveragh peninsulas. The long, narrow bay of Kenmare has woodlands on either side and mountainous uplands all around. The small and serene pier below the town looks across to Kenmare’s most iconic feature, a double arched art-deco bridge, which spans the bay. • Ideal location. Peaceful out in the country but still close enough to a very cute town with great pubs and atmosphere. Great place to stay to experience Ireland. House is very well built and stylish.

  • I can't say enough good things about this property/ host. She gave us recommendations for everything from hiking locally to shopping in Dublin. They were all spot on for what we wanted to do and our trip was far better for it. It is an easy 10 min drive to Kenmare (far easier at night when you can see the headlights coming on this one-lane road), but it feels like you are far outside of civilization. I would definitely book this property again. Thank you, Aine!

    Sarah2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • House furnished with great taste and very pleasant. Aine is very present during breakfast and offers all sorts of interesting tips to organize their stay. The house is a bit isolated, about a quarter hour of Kenmare by small roads.

  • We spent 4 lovely nights at the Eco Lodge with Anne. She was very welcoming and had our room ready. The view from our room was just stunning, we loved it! The drive out to Anne's home is beautiful countryside beneath a canopy of trees. The area is just gorgeous, unspoiled nature, very quiet and relaxing. Her home is beautifully decorated with relaxing colors and cozy details. She serves a wonderful breakfast! Very hardy and delicious. Another wonderful help to us was Anne's extensive knowledge of the area sites. And her handy collection of maps and brochures. We had a wonderful holiday enjoying Kenmare, the Beara Peninsula, Killarney State Park, and driving the Ring of Kerry. Highlights included hiking the Gleninchaquin Waterfall Park, taking the Seafari trip to view the seals with their brand new pups, touring the Muckross house, and taking the ferry to Valencia Island. Oh, and we became regulars at PJ McCarthy's Pub in the perfect village of Kenmare!

  • We spent three wonderful days in that lovely house. It is absolutely quiet as the house is located in the countryside, but you only need 10 minutes to Kenmare by car. Aine serves an excellent breakfast with local products and we got a lot of recommendations about activities to do. Next time we would stay longer.

    Karin2014-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Kenmare. The house was lovely and Aine gave us some great advice on places to go. This helped us avoid all the normal tourist traps and end up at the best places! She was very accommodating, as we have a 6 month old baby. This meant no late nights but a lot of relaxing at the house in the evenings. This is a great location for Kenmare - not even 10min to town. Beautiful countryside and views.

  • Aine us very well received. Refined person, interesting and cheerful who always give us his time. The house is beautiful. Passionate about design, we found a haven here. Very recommendable host.

  • Geraldine's place was absolutely brilliant. The place is very spacious and beautifully located. It had all we needed for a good stay in this area. Kenmare is on a drive away distance and shops are near. We enjoyed our stay and the discovery of the area around. We would surely recommend this place.

  • Me and my 2 children had a great stay at the cottage : nice big house, quiet location with nice countryside view just a few minutes to Kenmare center/Ring of Kerry, very comfortable (beds for example). Geraldine quickly provided everything needed before our arrival and during our stay (good heating ...). And she came specifically an evening to give us advises for one of my boy's light foot pain. She also managed to ensure good sunny weather during our stay in Kerry :-)

    Michel2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We are a family of 5. Great stay at Geraldine's place. Great host, family & experience. Clean house & perfect location to visit Kerry. Following invitation, the kids were delighted to participate in the milking of the cows.

  • Nice secluded cottage in the middle of the countryside and pastures. Ideal to be quiet and visit Kerry. Thanks to Géraldine for his welcome.

    Patrice2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • All was superb, i.e. location, equipment, clean house and very nice communication with Geraldine. Fully recommend. Thank You very much.

    Ivona2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very good stay in Géraldine's house. Ideally placed for visiting the beautiful Kerry region.

    Elise2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Geraldine was amazing at all times, specially when I told her I’d be leaving one day before my check out and she was very understanding and also brought me the refund in person one day before my departure! The house is beautiful and the place is just amazing and relaxing! Me and my husband and friends had a great time! We couldn’t be more thankful! Geraldine is the best host in Kenmare!

    Naty2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • It is a typical Irish house that has everything needed. The washing Machine did not work so Geraldine did not charge us for the heating which is fair enough. But the must is the location. A bit difficult to find, especially if you arrive during night time but it is calm with a beautiful view on the mountains and only within 5 min of Kenmare. Definitely it was worth paying a bit less to be outside of the city.

  • Wonderful hosts and wonderful accommodation in a wonderfully peaceful setting! ❤️

    Kim2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This site is totally worth it. It is in the middle of nature so the views are beautiful! In addition, in the morning Adrian got up early, since we had to leave soon, to prepare the breakfast that was delicious! Everything tasted spectacular. Although the house is set apart from the town, it is not more than about 5 minutes by car! We would repeat 100%

    Nuria2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a beautiful place to stay in a quite, rural area. The rooms were tidy and clean, we felt comfortable all the time. A lovely breakfast was cooked and served by Adrian. We can just recommend this place!

    Julia2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was really lovely! Adrian made us a simple but great breakfast both mornings and was very friendly and kind with local recommendations. The shower in the en-suite is amazing and the beds were comfy and clean. There is also a washer and dryer available to use with Laundry soap. That was an awesome bonus. The family dogs are very cute and friendly too, if you like four legged friends. There were 2 golden retrievers and even six puppies (soon to be off to their new homes though) and Adrian welcomed us into their family home to meet them and play with them. It was one of the best days!!!

    Amanda2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • The thatched roof cottage with spectacular views of the Irish mountains in the distance was perfect. The host was cordial! The interior was warm and inviting. Just lovely.

  • The place is in a wonderful position, everything was perfectly arranged... Sheila has been always very disposable and also told us many ways to spend the time in the zone! If you’re in for some naturalistic place, this is the place to be! Really recommended

  • Sheila’s place is amazing. Extremely clean and cozy. She provided a delicious breakfast and great overall touches. We would highly recommend.

    Maryam2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Sheila's place during our trip to the Ring of Kerry and loved it! It's a very cute flat and has everything you could need. The beds and furniture are comfy and the place is warm and cozy.

  • A great spot for a quiet break. Lovely large room with lots of light. Loved the warm welcome & apple pie. The apartment had everything we needed. All the best. Thanks

    Suzee2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila's apartment is very big and comfortable. We had a lot of space. The TV with Netflix is a very good solution for a long evening. We didn't have any problems, so I can recommend Sheila's apartment to everybody 😊

    Justyna2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Sheila's place. The place was really clean and organized. There's a beautiful view as well. Sheila is very friendly. I would recommend her place to anyone.

    Rafael2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is really clean and nicely decorated and furnished! The area is very rural, we did not have a problem arriving there as the post code using google maps took us right there. Sheila surprised us with scones that were just recently baked and a lovely apple pie, a really nice gesture! We had a walk at the end of the afternoon in the countryside and loved picking wild blackberries with our children! The kitchen although is fully equipped is not really for cooking big meals (only one stove) but if you plan around it it is no problem at all. We recommend it if you want to enjoy the rural countryside

    Leo2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila is a wonderful host, helpful with local suggestions that made our short stay very enjoyable. The welcome apple pie upon arrival was over the top.

  • After a winding ascent up the hillside, you are immediately charmed as you pass the many pastures to arrive at the home. The thoughtfully designed interior takes full advantage of the light and view. Included with your start is a well-appointed full kitchen that is a delight to cook and prepare food in. There are many places to gather and get cozy, our favorite was the living room area with the tidy wood stove. The host was kind and communicative, as was the local caretaker. Spacious and unique accommodation with many local places close by to enjoy. Or you may simply choose to soak up the crackling fire in front of a vista view window. We only wish our entire families had come with us to enjoy this gorgeous and authentic piece of Ireland! (Another cool thing about this home is the radiant floors, geothermal and solar systems, and the room-by-room temperature controls; also the water is delicious and frosty cold from the tap). Thanks a million, Lorena! -J & C

  • Anne was a gracious host who welcomed us with goodies for the family and a friendly chat. The cottage was spotless with spacious rooms, big beds, and plenty of storage space. The kitchen was equipped with all sorts of pots/pans, plenty of plates and cutlery plus extra touches like coffee/tea bags, spices and proper knives. Our kids loved playing with Charlie the dog and watching the chickens plus playing on the array of kids toys in the garden. Great location for touring and somewhere we'd love to get back to in the future.

  • We loved Anne's place so much and wish we could have moved in! It's about 30 minutes from Killarney and even closer to Kenmare. It was more than enough space for the 5 of us. The house had everything that we needed, and Anne was so kind to come welcome us and see us before we left (and even baked a welcome cake for us)! I hope we can go back on a future trip to Ireland!

For further details about Kenmare Bay and Kenmare Town, see the following sections: XXXXXX © Anne Barrett, Kenmare Bay Project, 2014 These are some things to do with children or teenagers, in this quote from one of my previous guests, Sheridan.
  • Bright, spacious, spotless room and bathroom in a beautifully designed house. We did not meet Aine as she was traveling, however, check-in was still perfectly smooth and we were provided with a long list of valuable tips regarding restaurants. Highly recommended.

  • We had a wonderful 2 night stay with Aine in this hidden gem. Our room was upgraded to the king room where we had a view of the natural landscape and could hear the water in the nearby river - so calming. Aine was very friendly and offered good tips about the area. Her directions were spot on. Would highly recommend if interested in something more relaxed, environmentally friendly and off track.

  • Anne was a lovely host. Her home is absolutely beautiful and she was very informative and friendly once we got to know her. She had some great recommendations for restaurants to visit in Kenmare, as well as sites to see. She advised us to visit the Ring of Beara which we did and absolutely did not regret doing so! One of the most stunning places in our visit to the country. I would definitely visit again, thank you Anne!

  • Comfort, Beauty and Peace. Eco Lodge has it all! Nestled along a mountain stream with varied mountain views in virtually every direction. Aine has picked a perfect location and built an exceptionally unique and welcoming, earth-friendly home. Her abundant use of windows welcomes the spectacular environment in and fills the house with natural light. Each cozy room has it's own special appeal and has always provided a restful night's sleep. Your gracious host knows the area well and will have excellent suggestions tailored to your interests. I look forward to exploring new places and learning more about this beautiful area of Ireland. Eco Lodge, and all it has to offer, is a valuable part of the experience. Thank you, Aine Brett

  • This Ecolodge was beautifully decorated and in a pretty setting. Except for the salmon brook behind the house, it was very quiet. A nice place to relax in a small quaint town! Aine was a great conversationalist!

  • 3 nights in Kenmare only gave us a glimpse of this beautiful region of County Kerry. Áine is a delightful host who warmly shares her home to 'us strangers'. Her local knowledge is invaluable which allows the days to be full and carefree. We followed her tips to the letter which rewarded us with some of the best holiday experiences. Thanks Áine for your friendship and the time shared.

We were a party of 10 and the smallest kids 5 and 7 didn’t want to leave. In close proximity to beautiful Kenmare, you still had the peace and quiet of being in the countryside aswell. Beautiful spacious house fully equipped with all the necessities and a lovely wood burning stove for those chilly nights. Really enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back. Thanks so much again Paudie!

Comfortable, bright and spacious room with en-suite in relaxing rural retreat. We also have a lovely double room which is listed separately.
  • Super beautifully located in a great area perfectly between the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara. The house is very nicely decorated and everything is sparkling clean. We felt very comfortable and would come back anytime. The hospitality of the two is also particularly worth mentioning!

  • This English couple has settled in this beautiful location in Ireland and have made a very warm and cosy nest to welcome guests. They both are lovely and their dog is an amazing piece of joy. The location might be a bit difficult to find and reach without a car, but it's definitely worth it for all their unconsitional love for human beings, animals and nature. The house and rooms are super clean and the room we had is equipped with a really nice bathroom. All the comfort needed to spend a relaxed and lovely time there.

    Loïc2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

  • The stay here in Kenmare was a great stay. It was in great location out in the country not directly in the town, but it was a very quick drive into town with all the restaurants and pubs. The rooms were very clean and very spacious. The bathrooms were very clean and also spacious. Adrian was actually not at the house but on vacation. He gave great directions to the house and was extremely friendly talking to. Adrian definitely made us feel at home and let us know he was there if we needed anything at all. I have to say the best thing about this entire stay was Tracie. She was an absolute delight. She asked us what time we wanted breakfast and had it prepared for us when we went down. The breakfast was phenomenal and there was more than enough to eat. She was excellent conversation and was very friendly. She truly made us feel at home. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Adrian was so welcoming, providing a wonderful assortment of foods for breakfast and even fresh flowers in the beautiful sunroom which has a fabulous view of the valley and mountains in the distance. A comfortable table there, a full kitchen, and a woodstove for the chill of the evening in early spring...ah we hated to leave! Thanks to Adrian for a truly memorable and enjoyable experience.

The farm is absolutely beautiful and the inside was relaxing and welcoming. We unfortunately had to leave early due to the Coronavirus outbreak (we needed to get back home), and Anne was completely understanding and wished us well. I 100% recommend staying here to everyone!!

  • Nora May and John gave us a very warm and friendly welcome in their house when we arrived. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in Waterfall House. The wonderful breakfast every morning, the afternoon tea after our trips to the fantastic environment of Kenmare (e.g. Killarnay National Park, Beara Peninsula,...) as well as the nice chats in the evening gave us the feeling of being at home. We recommend Waterfall House to every guest without any restriction and will try to come back when ever it is possible.

  • We were received very warmly. The sun was shining from the sky and thus the short walk to the house's own waterfall was worth twice. In this quiet and idyllic environment, there quickly arose. After a short drive you are in the middle of kenmare. There is a large selection of pubs and restaurants. Nora May spoiled us with a great breakfast! Freshly squeezed juice, homemade jam, various fruits, yoghurt, eggs, bacon, porridge, toast and coffee. There was nothing wrong with us. We can recommend the accommodation.

  • A beautiful place with beautiful people. They will make you feel right at home. Place is located really nearby a wonderful, kind of private, waterfall.

  • Favorite AirBNB I’ve stayed at so far. The property is amazing, breakfast is exquisite and the hosts are so welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommend!

  • I wish we could have stayed longer! Nora-May's home is in a great location if you wish to see the Ring of Kerry, the Ring of Beara, or anywhere else in the southwest of Ireland. Though, be sure that you don't miss out on seeing their property. Their tour guide, Peanut, will take you anywhere you want to go. Nora-May and Johnny are wonderful hosts, and our stay there was certainly the highlight of our trip to Ireland.

  • Adrian’s cottage is extremely charming. Built in 1850, it has been beautifully restored and has both the charm of a thatched cottage but convenience of a modern home. Adrian was a wonderful host who was extremely accommodating and made delicious breakfast every morning. We would highly recommend the place for Ring of Kerry travelers.

We are offering the ground floor of our house while we are on holidays. The two bedrooms are normally rented out on Airbnb as private rooms while we are around. The ground floor is around 100 square meters and comprises of a spacious entrance hall with toilet, a very large open space living room, dining and kitchen with an adjoining utility room. Our living space has large windows and glass sliding door which give onto the roughly river which flows into Kenmare bay. We have a large garden.
We are only renting the grounds floor and we find it would be too much work to get the upstairs ( our own quarters: 2 adults and 3 children) ready for guests. However if you come with children, we will make sure that we leave a lot of toys, jigsaws, books etc available and they would use the landing upstairs as a playroom. In the garden, you will find a picnic table and parasol on the patio, a swing and slide station, and a ping pong table. We can also make bikes available.
Irish country side, quiet and beautiful: the perfect place to recharge your batteries! And we are only a two minute drive from the buzzing town of Kenmare! (pub life, shops and loads of excellent restaurants). If you want to know more about our house, location and ourself you can check up our regular airbnb page for the rest of the year (roughty river, kenmare, co Kerry- private rooms).

Charming Traditional Irish Thatched Cottage with all of the original character retained and blended with modern comforts. Just 3 klm from Kenmare.
  • The cottage is very beautiful. Great location and can radiate throughout the region. The accommodation is equipped with a baby bed, which was very popular during our week of stay.

    Guillaume2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a lovely stay at Adrian’s place. The cottage is a short 5 minute drive from Kenmare and is quiet and peaceful. The view from the sunroom is beautiful! Adrian was very helpful and gave us good recommendations for the area and made us a delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in Kenmare!

    Chloe2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our booking was messed up but Adrian was so helpful and it was not his fault. We had a great stay and the hot breakfasts were a perfect way to start our day. The beds are extremely comfortable, everything spotlessly clean. I could not ask for anything more! Do not hesitate to book here.

    Amy2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay here in this genuine thatched roof traditional Irish home. It also had an amazing sun room area, a wood / turf burning stove, plenty of room for our group of six. Close enough to Kenmare to enjoy the town but far enough to enjoy the quiet of Kenmare too. Traditional Irish breakfast included and prepared for us. Very welcoming and friendly.

    Howard2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful secluded setting! Short drive to restaurants/shops. Adrian was very helpful and friendly.

    Patricia2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice set-up in a just out-of-town location in a gorgeous setting. Adrian is a great attentive host who's only too happy to help. His dog must be the friendliest dog in Kerry.

    Killian2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Adrian was a wonderful host with great tips for local meals and hiking. The cottage is located in a quiet little wood near a farm with beautiful rolling hills and fields and Kenmare just down the road. Would love to stay again for a weekend getaway.

    Michael2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • My group unanimously loved Adrian’s thatched cottage. His directions were very good considering Irish roads have a paucity of signage overall. Pros: - great host who met us when we arrived with foods for the morning - beautiful scenery around the house / neighborhood. Excellent for people to ramble about. - great location to make a bunch of day trips to other areas or just hang out and relax - sleeping options on the group floor (ie for anyone who has mobility issues) or upstairs - great washer and dryer. Worked very nicely. Cons: Honestly we had no problems with his place. We would love to go back.

  • A huge Thank you to Anne for making us feel so welcome to her wonderful cottage. It was a pleasure to spend time there, a fantastic location and surroundings. Anne is a very thoughtful host, and upon meeting her husband and son the same warmth and hospitality were extended from them. We would definitely recommend a stay at Tom’s cottage, our 3 children (14, 12 & 9yrs) thoroughly enjoyed their stay too. We will definitely be back again!

  • Anne is the best host, she will do anything to make one's stay perfect. What a well equipped house and a paradise for kids, tractors to play with, high chair and stair gate, and beautifully situated away from the road, safe and sound, just perfect.

    Dinah2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • My family stayed in Tom’s Cottage and I can honestly say it was the best two days of our holiday. Anne and Patrick are wonderful and warm people, and the cottage was comfortable, beautiful and immaculately clean. The bedrooms were large, each with their own bathroom. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, and tools to prepare delicious meals, and the living room was so cosy with television and movies provided. The area around the cottage is absolutely breathtaking, and it was a very short drive to Kenmare. My three children also had the time of their lives, playing outside with the fun toys Anne provided and getting to see the cows being milked on the farm. My only regret is we didn’t plan to stay much longer.

    Lisa2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic! Anne is so welcoming and warm. We truly relaxed as soon as we arrived and it felt like a home away from home. The cottage is absolute spotless and a real treat to stay in. We had everything we needed and more! A washing machine and dryer are great when travelling with a baby! The location was brilliant and it was a real treat having a chicken out the front and seeing the cows being milked. It was very much an experience staying at the farm and so much more than just a standard Airbnb. We can’t wait to come back again and will definitely be staying longer next time!

    Jennifer2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cottage was unforgettable. Anne is very flexible and easy to communicate with. She ensures you have a comfortable and fun trip and was able to give advice and answer any questions we had. We were welcomed by her and there were homemade treats waiting for us in the kitchen. The cottage was comfortable and cozy. The exact farm stay we were looking for. We were able to walk around the farm and see the cows being raised on the farm. Patrick did an amazing job answering our questions and showing us around. Charlie (the farm dog) is lovely and sweet to be around. The cottage was an easy 30 minute drive to Killarney and the national park. I would recommend this to anyone to get an authentic farm stay in Ireland. It was

  • This property is in a great location and has such a relaxing feel to the place. Ideal for kids as it’s well off the main road with swings and the gorgeous dog Charlie who loves to play! The cottage is spotlessly clean and so comfortable and cosy. Anne has thought of everything, from a coffee plunger pot to teas, cooking oils, salt and pepper and even had a gorgeous bag of organic porridge oats laid on. There were firelogs to light the lovely open fire with as well, great provisions! She is a dream to deal with and very responsive to messages. Anne goes above and beyond the call of duty and is even posting me back a sandal that one of my kids left behind in the garden! Our children loved it and have already asked when are we going back!

  • Anne's place is convenient to Kenmare, it is less than a 10 minute drive. Anne is a very gracious friendly host. We were welcomed by Anne and her dog Charlie, who just wants to be petted and played with. Anne, showed us around the property and how everything works, she gave us tips and advice on where to go to eat in the town and what sights are good in the area. The two rooms upstairs are en-suite and the third bedroom downstairs effectively has its own bathroom. there was plenty of hot water for showers or baths. The kitchen is well stocked, there are herbs and spices if you wish to cook. Tea, coffee and sugar were also provided as well as a selection of cereal, porridge and a liter of milk already in the fridge. Anne also left us a large home baked cake, which was delicious and very unexpected. I would highly recommend this place to anybody. We enjoyed our stay, the place was nice and cosy.

  • Anne greeted us warmly with her lovely farm dog, Charlie. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities one would need, including a jacuzzi tub! My only complaint would be the beds were quite hard for me, but that is just my personal preference. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at the cottage and in Co. Kerry.

  • Rivers Edge location is stunning. The view from the windows amazing and the bench by the river an amazing place to sit for awhile in the morning. On arrival we found a lovely baked tart, tea and milk. The house itself was modern with all one would expect. The rooms, bathrooms, towels and bed linen were top notch. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living area is quite comfortable, with a lovely armchair which is great for a snooze!! There is a patio area by the river where one can sit and just look at the river while enjoying only the sounds of birds. It was a perfect place to unwind. • Very nice single storey house, spacious, tastefully decorated and equipped with a complete and high quality equipment. The garden is well maintained with a reading area on the Kenmare River and a large south-facing terrace. Although on the banks of the river, the children have benefited safely. Located a few miles from downtown Kenmare, the place is quiet and conducive to rest. We recommend this address without hesitation.

    Regis2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely home, in a perfect quiet location. Loads of space, very comfortable and a lovely garden down to the river. A lovely spot for a G&T after the many walks available in the area. Easy to cook in or venture into Kenmare to one of the many restaurants.

    Paul2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful home with great amenities! The location is close enough to Kenmare but far enough to enjoy the piece and quiet of the country side. The house is spacious, the kitchen is well appointed and the bedrooms are comfortable. We would stay here again. Margaret and her husband are extremely gracious hosts!

    Dan2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a week in August in Margaret’s beautiful house. It is spacious and very well kitted out. There is lots of room in and around the house for children, and location is excellent for access to Kenmare and the stunning Kerry countryside. Margaret and Adrian are really lovely people and very attentive hosts. Highly recommended.

    Michael2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This house was a peaceful delight to stay at and very comfortable. It makes a great base from which to explore this part of Ireland. Kenmare is a short drive away and offers a good selection of restaurants, supermarkets and even a fitness centre. There are excellent walks down country lanes from the house itself, and Killarney National park is about 30 minutes drive a way. We found this a lovely part of Ireland to explore and would love to return as soon as possible to explore some more. The owners Margaret and Adrian are very hospitable and it was a pleasure staying at their house.
