  • Stayed here with 4 friends on a birthday night away. The lodge is lovely with lots of homely touches. The host greeted us right away when we arrived and made us feel at home from the outset. The garden and the area is beautiful. We spent most of our night outside enjoying the summer sunshine and the view. Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay at the lodge. Our only regret was that we forgot to bring home the lovely home made scones baked for our arrival. Can’t recommend enough and thank you to Lona for making our stay so special.

Di was a great host and the additional touches were lovely. The cottage is in a great location, nice and quiet but only a short drive to the beautiful St Andrews. Overall we couldn't recommend enough and would love to go back again.

    James2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Di was exceptionally welcoming, as was the cosy cottage, with a kitchen that’s begging to have friends cook a cosy meal together in it, a living room that inspires deep conversations by the fire and beds that feel like a big thick warm cloud is hugging you. I’ll certainly be coming back!

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect wee cottage, great value for money and Di is a brilliant host. Will deffinitely be back.

    Laura2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cottage to stay in. We had a lovely relaxing break and loved sitting by the stove. Everything was pristine and the cottage is in an excellent location from the shops and the harbour. All of the lovely wee touches just made it exceptional!

    James2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is in a fantastic location for pottering about Pittenweem. It was really cosy (even without the wood burner) but there’s nothing nicer than watching those flames. The conservatory has amazing views and was a lovely spot to enjoy a lazy morning.

    Rosie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The property is ideally located and furnished to a very high standard. The decor is warm and welcoming and the kitchen has everything you could want if staying in and cooking. I will be back in the warmer months so I can enjoy the lovely summer house and garden.

    Neil2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the most beautiful air b n b properties I’ve ever stayed in. It was so cosy with a wonderful sitting room and the kitchen below which gave two excellent communal areas, not to mention the lovely conservatory with spectacular views. Great bedrooms with comfy beds and luxurious towels for the spa style bath! Dawn was an excellent host, so friendly and thoughtful leaving me a birthday card and bubbly for my birthday. We were so lucky to stay there, the house is wonderful inside and out and also close to the harbour and little shops near by. I’d recommend trying the local chocolate shop for a hot chocolate and head to Antruther for fish and chips or Elie for a pub lunch at the Ship Inn. Thank you Dawn for a wonderful stay x

    Briony2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Dawns, she was a great host and I booked at the very last minute, I loved her place which is exactly like the photos. Dawn is a thoughtful host who left lots of little touches, I especially loved bringing back hot chocolate from the Cocoa Tree cafe a few yards from the house and drinking it in front of the fire.

    Claire2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn's cottage was absolutely perfect. Mangle cottage has clearly been renovated to a very high standard (two lovely bathrooms, a great big bath in one and a rainfall shower in the other) lovely kitchen downstairs even with nespresso coffee! The livingroom was the real heart of the place for my wife and I. It looks fantastic and putting logs on the wood burning stove was exactly what we wanted to hunker down in the cold December weather. Dawn was a fantastic host always keeping us updated when necessary and gave us some great local tips for places to eat and putting us at ease during our stay. Pitenween is a lovely picturesque town, and I think Mangle cottage is the best place you could stay while there. The views of the ocean and the sunrise from the conservatory are amazing. I have already recommended this place to a lot of my friends and family and plan to return in future.

    Jamie2019-12-11T00:00:00Z

  • Absolutely amazing wee gem- in the lovely village of St Monans down by the harbour - a snug and sparkling little room with fabulous facilities and a lovely breakfast.

    Ellen2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret's place is a great find. It is situated in beautiful St Monan's, which is one of the beautiful fishing villages in the East Neuk, and the house is a stone's throw from the harbour. Margaret is a wonderful host, who went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and happy. The bedroom was cosy and homely, and the linen and towels were fresh and clean, and they were washed and changed as I was there for 11 days. The bathroom, bedroom and living areas were immaculate, and I was very comfortable staying there. Breakfast was a treat; fresh scones, orange juice, fruit and cereal, which was a nice bonus, as many hosts do not provide this. Margaret and hubby Steve were lovely to be around, and I felt like I was coming home at the end of a long day house hunting. I think you will be hard pressed to find better value for money in that area. It was a very comfortable stay, and I was very happy with the experience. I would recommend this place if you are wanting a place to stay in the East Neuk. St Monan's is a special place to be, very quiet and rather charming, and Margaret and Steve's place is a cosy and comfortable stay that I don't think could disappoint. A lovely experience. Thank you Margaret and Steve.

  • This is a very comfortable house with hospitality. Beautiful town snd coast.

    Daniel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I found this a great place to stay, the room I was in is on the third floor, single bed, TV, kettle, tea, coffee, biscuits. Bathroom is across the landing with bath, shower, sink and wc, it was quiet and warm. The house is very clean and well presented. The breakfast was very good. I would recommend this air b+b to anyone.

    Paul2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I spent just one night in St Monans, but would have loved to have stayed for longer. The room had everything I needed, was very cosy and clean, and peaceful. Margaret laid on a lovely breakfast with lots of options. St Monans itself is very picturesque with plenty to see, and benefits from being right on the Fife Coastal Path. There are also some great restaurants in the area.

    Angharad2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret provided quite kind hospitality in a spotless accommodation. She provided both dining options that accounted for our later than expected arrival and suggestions for morning walks along the picturesque seaside. A fine stay!

  • I came here for a couple of days break myself. I wanted somewhere peaceful and coastal and this ticked both those boxes. Caroline is a lovely lady, very helpful and I appreciated the advice about the coastal path. The place is situated not too far from the coastal path if you like to go walking so another plus in my book. Thanks again, Caroline.

  • Lovely, cosy and comfortable space, with lots of thoughtful touches and a real feeling of privacy. Everything you need in the kitchen to cook yourself, and a lovely shower too. Nice to hunker down in a cold Jan in Fife, but the outside space will be amazing in summer too.

  • Caroline is so nice, welcoming and so careful that you will feel cozier than you're at your own home. The place is not very big but everything is well placed, clean and tasteful. We were three (me, my husband and my 8 months old boy) and we did have all the space we needed. The kitchen is pretty, with everything a person could possibly ask for, the bathroom has a comfy shower, perfect for heat up after those windy scottish days. You will have a personal garden, with table and chairs, all surrounded by flowers. So. at this point, I think that it's obvious that I warmly recommend Caroline's place. Pick her studio and you won't regret it. I didn't.

A spacious family home set in a quiet village, a perfect base to explore the East Neuk and beyond. Built in 2017, this home is full of light and luxury.
We built this house with a lot of attention to detail. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Ground floor comprises: lounge, utility room, large kitchen with dining table seating 10-12, double bedroom (king bed) with en-suite. First floor comprises: second lounge, master suite (with master bedroom, twin bedroom and shower room), double bedroom, twin bedroom (bunk beds). The double and bunk room have Jack & Jill bathroom. There is plenty space in the master bedroom and the downstairs double for a cot and a fold down bed, both of which can be supplied. The kitchen is ideal for those who like to cook with company. A couple of soft seats for those who like to doze and bask in the sunshine and then a huge table for debating/colouring/eating/drinking (all are possible at once!). The kitchen has all you will need for entertaining - the usual kitchen appliances and crockery plus Nespresso coffee machine, raclette machine, hot stone (we used to live in the Alps!), drinks chiller and an American fridge freezer with ice/water. Please use any herbs, fruit or veg that you see in our garden! Bellevue is a new house and so has very efficient gas central heating. We also have wifi, freeview channels and a DVD player. There are TVs in both lounges and the kitchen. The wifi is well connected throughout the house. We used to live in this house with our young children so there are toys, DVDs and all you should require to keep the little ones entertained. We are all keen walkers and cyclists and so there is a utility room with plenty of space for boots, wellies and jackets (as it sometimes rains in Scotland). Pets are welcome however please note that the garden is not enclosed.
The local play park is within throwing distance. Recently refurbished Kilconquhar Inn (open October 2019) is 300m away. Across the main road is Kilconquhar Castle Estate which offers horseriding, restaurant/bar and a ‘secret’ park. Further afield there is Shell Bay caravan park which offers a great beach, play park, café, restaurant and entertainment (when in season). Fish and chips galore in the villages of Pittenweem, Anstruther and Crail which are all a short drive away. Cycling and walking galore with the Fife Coastal Path in walking distance and access to nature reserves and hill walks a short drive away. Whether you are looking for golf, beaches, countryside or to hide away from it all, you will find it here at Bellevue.
  • Wonderful stay at Sarah’s in Kilconquhar. Beautiful, light filled house very conveniently located for east neuk and St Andrews. House was full of thoughtful touches and was an ideal place to spend a long weekend. Highly recommended!

  • Bellevue was perfect for our family gathering. It was light, airy and very stylish and comfortable. It has an amazing kitchen area and the large table sat 11 of us. Although a big house it’s really cosy and has lovely outlooks. The host Sarah was really prompt at replying to any queries and has equipped the house with lots of amenities for young and old staying at the house. We also had three dogs with us and a large utility room helped to contain their muddy paws before entering the main house. It’s positioned in a lovely village and only a short drive from Elie and St Andrews. Great to explore the East Neuk of Fife. We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in this area.

    Karen2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay for a family 70th birthday. The house had everything we needed and enough space that we didn't feel crowded despite the weather. The Kinneuchar Inn is just a walk away and served fantastic food in a private room.

    Rowan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend. The house was great for grownups and kids alike. Lots of thoughtful touches and very well equipped. We really enjoyed the space. The weather was wet and windy - though we did manage a walk into Elie - but the toys, games and screens meant there was plenty to keep everyone happy. The children also used the neighbouring play park. The nearby Kinneuchar Inn has a lovely cosy bar and though we didn’t eat there the menu looked interesting. We we would also recommend the Pittenweem Fish and Chip Bar. We have stayed in several lovely houses in the East Neuk but this was by far the best and we would highly recommend it.

    Lorna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend this home enough. Had my 40th birthday weekend here and it was amazing!Did not want to leave! Some of us were crying leaving. We had such a wonderful time. It really is a home rather than just a place to sleep. Stunning!

    Victoria2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay for a family celebration and the house was perfect. Great for kids with lots of space, toys and games inside and out and children’s cups and crockery. There is a nice pub round the corner and the house is walking distance to Elie where there are more pubs and nice shops as well as the lovely harbour and beach. I would recommend staying in this house and would certainly come back to stay again.

    Scott2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay. The house is immaculate and is really catered for families. Everywhere was a short drive, having gone to Elie for the day and up to St Andrews. Sarah was very responsive and lovely to deal with. Hopefully we’ll be back soon!

    Rebecca2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning house and spotlessly clean. Fantastic hosts that couldn’t do more to help. House had everything that you could possibly need with lots of great little extra touches. Amazing space and perfect for family/friends getaways. Would not hesitate to recommend to others and look forward to staying again in the future!

Fantastic self contained annexe, which opens directly onto the 9 hole golf course in Elie. there is a bedroom, lounge cum kitchen and a shower room,
Ingleside Cottage has direct access onto the Golf Course.
We live in a most beautiful village with a magnificent beach, great pubs and restaurants. Elie is the first village in a series of 7 villages called the East Neuk of Fife. All of the villages are unique, they offer golf, picturesque harbours, watersports, seafood, an award winning chip shop....the list is endless. We are also only 12 miles fro St.andrews, the Home of Golf.
  • Great place for a walk of Fife Coastal path, warm all times of year!

    Martha2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you need cleverly designed in a smallish space. Warm, even when staying in January. Short walk to the sea, even shorter to the golf course so an excellent location. Robert was a friendly, helpful and charming host.

    Douglas2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy and comfortable cottage, very thoughtful hosts with some fizz and chocolates waiting for us to help ring in the bells! Excellent location only a couple of minutes walk from the Main Street in Elie. Generally very clean, with all amenities that we needed. We had our 7 month old daughter with us and there was room for a travel cot without it getting in the way too much. Overall a great stay and we will almost certainly try to return in the future.

This one-bedroom penthouse flat offers everything you need for an East Neuk of Fife get-away – and it’s right on the Fife Coastal Path, overlooking the lively, working harbour of Pittenweem. The centrepiece of this bright and airy flat is the open-plan kitchen/diner and lounge which offers views south, out into the Firth of Forth and the North Sea. We recommend the comfy sofa to cast your eye over fishermen laying their creels in the peaceful, sparkling waters. Or take a lounge window seat and look west over the boats bobbing around in the harbour. You are that close! The penthouse is finished to a luxuriously high standard with all the amenities you need for your stay and a plush super-king bed (which can be split into 2 singles) that is perfect for resting up for a day exploring Fife. If you're visiting in winter, warm up in a luxurious bath. * Please note, a minimum 3 night stay*
Sit back and relax and take in the lovely sea views from the comfort of the lounge sofa. Being just minutes from the harbour, there is an abundance of fresh fish available to purchase. Being close to St Andrews, this property is in a great location for golfing and beach getaways. The penthouse is an ideal retreat for couples, although the lounge sofa is a comfortable double bed-settee to offer additional sleeping space to sleep up to 4 guests maximum. Please note, the sofabed incurs an additional £25 fee and will need to be specifically requested so we can inform the housekeeper. Larger groups can also rent the main two-storey house below, House on the Harbour (https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/15881178), with a separate entrance. The House on the Harbour sleeps 6 – 8; and together the penthouse and main house could comfortably accommodate groups of up to 12. Original artwork by David Henderson– paintings and prints –feature in all rooms.
Pittenweem has the only working harbour in the East Neuk of Fife. House on the Harbour is steeped in fishing history, and even now you can buy fish and seafood on your doorstep. Watch the seals in the harbour whilst enjoying an ice cream. Take a short walk along the beach and you may be lucky enough to see dolphins and porpoise – or even a whale. Or enjoy a boat trip to the Isle of May (National Nature Reserve) – or even North Berwick across the water in East Lothian. Penthouse on the Harbour is right on the Fife Coastal Path, and it’s a gentle 40 minute walk to Anstruther to the east, or St Monans to the west. The annual Pittenweem Arts Festival (August) has drawn a community of artists and craftspeople to this historic village, with galleries and open studies. The sleepy high street has welcoming cafes, and there are two village pubs. Anstruther, Elie and St Monans also provide a wide range of restaurants, pubs and cafes. For golfers, Fife is the home of golf, with Anstruther course five minutes away, and another 45 courses a short drive – including the famous Old Course at St Andrews.
  • Lovely views and great facilities.

    Lynne2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Penthouse on the Harbour we stayed 4 wonderful nights in this beautiful apartment. Great views of Pittenween Harbour we were able to sit & watch the fishing trawlers depart & return, watching the sun set was truly amazing. The apartment is spacious, is equipped with everything you need for home comfort & good quality. The bed was comfortable & cosy. There is a very friendly local Scottish pub a short walk away with fantastic food as well. Supermarket is a short 3 min drive away. We would definitely return to stay again.

Newly renovated, beautiful seaside 1 bedroom house for rentals with seaviews. 70m2 on two floors with off street parking + garden. A real home from home. All your needs are catered for: a fully equipped kitchen, Italian leather couch, Danish dining table, brand new combi-boiler, TV/DVD, Swedish super-king size bed and electric mattress (on request) plus more. Beautiful bath/power shower for relaxing after golf or walking the Fife Coastal Path. Anstruther, 3 miles away has everything you need.
Cosy, renovated and fully equipped seaside property with bedroom sea and castle views and rear garden. This place is my home and guests will feel a genuine personal touch in this comfy space with luxurious and stylish furnishings.
A quiet place where everybody in St. Monans and the neighbouring villages smiles and says a cheery "hiya". You can smell the sea from the front and backdoor and it's seagulls, waves or the occasional seal that you will hear rather than car engines.
  • Very well equipped and comfortable. St Monans is a lovely former fishing village with outstanding walks in either direction along the coastal path.

Sunny Nook is ideally situated less than a minute's walk to the shore and just over a minute to the High Street - which has the village shop and Post Office, several cafes, art galleries, and the fish and chip shop. Built in the 19th century Sunny Nook has been updated to 21st century standards with a modern kitchen and shower room, central heating, ample power points and WiFi, without losing any of its charm. It was totally refurbished in 2018 with a fresh, clean look. NO CLEANING FEE
Sunny Nook is a small, simply furnished apartment suitable for 1 or 2 people. As you enter the building there is a vestibule to hang coats and leave shoes and bags. A glazed door leads into the main living area which has both south and east facing windows which flood the room with light. The dining table sits by the south facing window, overlooking the garden. Over by the east facing window there is a comfy armchair. Facing this is the large corner sofa - just right for putting your feet up and relaxing. There are a 40" TV (Freeview), DVD player and bluetooth rechargeable speaker. You will also find books, maps, DVD's (including The Winter Guest - shot mostly in Pittenweem) and tourist information. I provide a charging plug and cables for both micro USB and Apple. The kitchen area sits to one side of the living room. There is an oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, Nespresso coffee maker and toaster. Also the usual collection of crockery and glassware, utensils and cutlery etc. Dishwashing liquid, foil, bin liners, dishwashing cloths and tea towels are provided, along with salt, pepper, oil and sugar. Off the living room is the bedroom. This cosy room has a double bed with a king size duvet, small wardrobe with drawer, 2 bedside tables and a full-length mirror. A hairdryer is provided. There are feature plantation shutters on the window. All bed-linen is provided. This room has 5 power points for your use. Also off the living room is the rear hallway where you will find all the useful, boring stuff like an iron, ironing board and the recycling bins. I've also provided an insulated picnic basket, smaller insulated lunch bag and a bag containing a flask and 2 insulated lidded mugs. Access to the shower room is gained through this hall. The shower room has a double-headed shower, toilet and sink with vanity unit. Hooks are provided for towels/clothing and you will also find a step-stool to sit on and for use around the property. Towels, mat and toilet rolls are provided along with 'Simple' hand soap. There is also a non-slip mat for use in the shower. Hot water is provided by a modern combi boiler. The flat is small, but quirky. The walls and floors aren't straight... But this just adds to its charm. Outside there is a shared courtyard garden with lawn, flower borders and a large paved area. In the outhouse you will find the washer/dryer and the garden table and chairs. I aim to provide everything you need - and nothing you don't! I provide a small welcome basket of bread, milk, coffee, tea etc. You will be asked for your preferences for this nearer the time of your visit. If you're coming for a special occasion and want any extras (champagne, flowers etc) just let me know and I'll see what I can do. There will be an extra charge for this service.
Pittenweem is the central village of 5 East Neuk villages - Anstruther and Crail to the east, and St Monans and Elie to the west. The home of golf, St Andrews, is 10 miles away, Dundee 15, and Edinburgh is easily reached by car, bus or train in just over an hour. Pittenweem is the sole surviving working fishing port in Fife. There is a fish market at the harbour Monday-Friday every week (if you're up very early!). The local catch is mainly crabs, prawns, lobsters and langoustines. There are miles of great walking on your doorstep. The Fife Coastal path passes through Pittenweem and the newly opened Pilgrim's Way is close by.
  • Lovely wee home for a few days, very welcoming host with great suggestions to suit our plans. Lots of well thought of items throughout the flat (from soaps and snacks to picnic bags and maps), very handy for a wee weekend away. Fresh bread and milk on arrival were much appreciated too. Great location for visiting many different coastal towns by car or on foot. Plenty parking too.

  • We had a wonderful short break at Sunny Nook. Perfect place for exploring the Fife Coast Path. Comfortable and cheerful. The kitchen and bath are small but very organised. Everything we wanted was there. Lovely quiet location just a few steps from the shore in one direction and the shop in the other. Can’t wait to return. If you are there during the week and you like to cook, don’t forget to order some of the next day’s catch at the Fisherman’s Mutual Association opposite the harbour, we had the freshest, best langoustines we’ve ever had. Hot chocolate at The Cocoa Tree is also recommended.

  • Had an absolutely fantastic time in Sunny Nook and it was the perfect place to return to after days out exploring in the stormy weather! Sunny Nook is beautifully light, very clean and extremely welcoming with everything you could need for the perfect stay (including blankets to wrap yourself up in when the wind is howling outside!). Carol is a super host and has added thoughtful and personal touches to the property making it feel like a home away from home. Have already recommended it to friends and family! Would love to return. Thank you 😊

  • Sunny Nook is the perfect East Neuk retreat, in a fishing village full of character and just a few steps from the harbour. Carol has really made it a home from home, with so many thoughtful touches from a welcome goodie basket with biscuits, milk and tasty home-made bread, to all kinds of things you might want to use during your stay such as a thermos bag for picnics, usb plugs and cables. The apartment interior is contemporary, super-clean, incredibly cosy and comfortable, with a really well equipped kitchen if you want to cook. Comfortable bed and good shower, decent wifi. There are also maps, area guides, books and board games. It's really peaceful and quiet. Pittenweem is a lovely village, and the apartment is a great base for walking and exploring the East Neuk, with lots of places to visit including St. Andrews, Crail, Elie, St. Monans and more. We were staying for New Year and Carol provided information regarding what was open in terms of shops, bars and restaurants and told us what the locals did to celebrate in the local area. We had a brilliant stay and are already planning our return.

    Lesley2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is an outstanding accommodation, tastefully furnished, outstandingly clean and situated in a lovely part of the East Neuk. Carol was an amazing host. Would highly recommend for a stay, and plan too again.

Margaret was very responsive.

  • The Puffin Place is a hidden gem. A spotlessly clean apartment which was nice and warm. Everything you need for a self catering holiday is provided, including a selection of board games for the kids. The apartment is also dog friendly but you would never have known. Steve was a great host, he and his wife live above so are on hand if you have any queries or questions. We look forward to returning to the area sometime next year.

  • Spotlessly clean, tidy little flat. 5 mins from cafe and restaurant and Quay. Park nearby. Great hosts, helpful and friendly. Superb resort.

    Penelope2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • This ground floor flat was comfortable, pleasantly warm with heating we could easily control, very clean and well equipped - it had all we wanted for a self-catering trip away from home. Stephen and Linda were helpful but unobtrusive - they live above the flat and are on hand in case of any problems - not that we had any. The flat is in a quiet street near to the picturesque harbour and there is a convenience store nearby. We were able to park more or less outside the property and noticed there is also a car park at the end of the road as well as on street parking. We had no problems checking in or out. The area is lovely with easy walking along the Fife coastal path to nearby villages. We would be happy to make a return visit.

The sea is right opposite your holiday flat in the traditional fishing village of Pittenweem. Watch the boats return to harbour in the evening and spot the sea life from your windows, or go for a stroll along the shore. Thistle Flat offers self-catering accommodation for 2 or 3 adults, or a family with 2 children. *Ground floor entrance to a large front room, with kitchen, dining table, TV, comfy chairs and sofabed. *Separate en suite double bedroom. *Free parking outside the door.
    * Thistle Flat is a brand new conversion on the ground floor of a historic seafront house, built in 1874. * It is a warm and cosy space in winter - check out our special offer prices for January and February. • It aims to provide accommodation suitable for all, including those who have mobility issues and need easy access. Please do contact the owners, Helen and Nigel, for more information; we will be happy to discuss your needs. • Parking is available outside the front door, or in the numerous seafront spaces across the road. All spaces are free of charge. • The bedroom can be arranged as either one king-size or two single beds. Please let us know in advance which arrangement you require. A third family member could sleep on the large sofa bed in the living room. (So 3 separate beds are possible.) * For parents with two children, we suggest two singles for the children in the bedroom. The sofabed in the sitting room can convert into a double for the parents. (A visiting family just tried this out and were very happy!) * We can supply a travel cot and a child-size mattress - both can go in the bedroom. * The Flat is not suitable for two couples. • There is access to the courtyard garden (with table and chairs) through the bedroom. • We are happy to welcome one well-behaved dog, but no cats due to allergies – sorry. Please tell us if you plan to bring a dog so that we can discuss its needs in advance and be suitably prepared.
Pittenweem is on the Fife coastal path, very popular for both short strolls and serious hikes. It is 20 minutes’ drive from the historic university town of St Andrews, the home of golf. You can easily drive (or walk) to the other seaside towns of the East Neuk: Crail, Anstruther, St Monans and Elie. Kellie Castle, the Secret Bunker and Kingsbarns Distillery are popular attractions nearby. But you may simply want to stay put, watching life on the shore and exploring Pittenweem. The village has a thriving artists’ community with a selection of galleries displaying their work; there are several cafes and the new licensed Dory Bistro and Gallery on East Shore. Walk along the piers for views of the last working fishing harbour in the East Neuk. If you come during the autumn or winter, remember to bring warm outdoor clothes as it can be cold!
  • We had a such an enjoyable stay in a really well finished, warm and comfortable flat. It felt like a home from home and would definitely stay there again.

It suited our needs perfectly and the Elie Deli down the road had the perfect nibbles for the weary traveller. The proximity to the Fife coastal walk was brilliant and we were truly blessed with the weather. Thank you and we will be back!!

  • Gorgeous “wee” cottage. Perfectly proportioned, great location, perfect for a family getaway!

    Morag2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from our stay at the Cupboard we had a lovely family getaway. It's literally less than a minute walk to the beach and lovely little cottage very unique. Our little boy loved it and so did we, no doubt be back again. The ship Inn and the 19th hole both nice for a meal and you can bring your dog as well.

    Monica2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wee gem. Perfect location. Every little detail is considered and although compact it feels luxurious. We were there with our two boys - 6 and 9 and our dog. We enjoyed the beach, snuggling by the fire and eating out. The Ship Inn was by far superior to the 19th Hole for food though the atmosphere in both was great. We are only 90 minutes drive away so are hoping to return for another couple of nights away in the future.

    Fiona2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful wee cottage with everything you need and in a great location. It’s a calm space to spend time in, everything is easy to use and works well and it was great to have some welcoming goodies too. Johns communication was great.

    Claire2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We booked the cupboard for Christmas and absolutely loved it! The cottage is exactly how it is described, and clearly alot of thought, time and love went into making the most out of the space. Very impressive! We spent our days exploring the beaches (one of which is just across the road), St Andrews and Crail, and we had a lovely meal in the Ship Inn. A quiet, simple and peaceful Christmas, with a touch of adventure and luxury! John also very kindly left us some Christmas treats, even some for our wee dog which was a nice surprise! Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely space, John. Will definitely be recommending to my friends and family.

    Leisa2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in “the cupboard” it really is beautifully laid out and the space is well used - it’s very cute! Our children enjoyed it too. Despite it being November we spent two fabulous days on the beach in Elie- we thoroughly recommend “the cupboard”.

  • Really lovely flat and location! Lots of nice touches, really comfortable and pretty. Flat was cold on arrival but did warm up. Bedroom bit draughty though we were there with very chilly high winds. We took 8 month old baby and it suited the 3 of us brilliantly.

  • East Pier View really lives up to its description as a stunning shore front home. It is situated right on the harbour front in picturesque St Monans, which is quieter than than some of the other villages in the East Neuk while still being a perfect base for exploring the area's fantastic beaches and coastal path. The house has been stylishly decorated with some lovely artwork. We would definitely recommend it.

  • What a great wee place! Loved it! Great view, and such a nice place to be this time of year! Thanks Gillian.

    Chris2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband & I had a lovely stay at Gillian’s home. Located on St Monan’s harbour, the property was well located for day trips to nearby Anstruther, Elie, Pittenweem and within a half hour drive to St Andrews. The property was cosy and welcoming, with everything we needed for a few days quiet time away from day to day life. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking at home, and there was also a lovely coffee shop just round the corner. All in all, would thoroughly recommend East Pier View and we look forward to returning.

  • When we arrived at Doodles Den we got a lovely warm friendly greeting from Jackie. The apartment was beautiful and spotless throughout. They have thought of everything you would need for a great stay. You are only a few minutes away from the beautiful quant old harbour. This is a great base for touring the East Neuk. Our stay at Doodles Den was the perfect antidote to all the horrible Corona Virus news. Would highly recommend this lovely little apartment.

    Maria2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fab weekend at Doodles Den! Jackie was very welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect for getting to the coastal walks and the beach. The Den had everything we needed and we loved the fire!

  • It was a wet windy day when we arrived at Doodle's Den but what a WARM welcome we recieved from Jackie who had the heating on ready for us:-) Our stay at Doodle's Den was lovely. It is a great space with a wood burner and lots of books, games and DVDs. Kitchen is very well equipped and Jackie and Carole live upstairs and are more than happy to give local tips. It's in a lovely area-just a few minutes walk to St Monans Harbour and then you can walk on to the Fife Costal Path. There is a nice wee cafe in the village and a shop that sells pretty much everything!! The bed was very comfy and the shower was very good. The place was spotlessly clean and there were lots of nice personal touches. Would definately recommend Doodle's Den!!!!

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Doodles Den. Jackie was very welcoming and the apartment was wonderful. It was warm and cosy and brilliant to come back to after a windy walk on the coast. Location is excellent. We would definitely recommend.

    Tanya2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Doodle's Den provides everything you need for a short escape, it's cosy, spotlessly clean, well equipped. The hosts made ourselves and dogs most welcome and emphasis was to chill and relax.

    David2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I can not sing the praises of Doodles Den enough. I had high expectations which were not only met, but exceeded. Jackie and Carol have made a charming home away from home for their guests, especially there 4 legged canine guests! My four legged friend and I can't wait to return.

    Jan2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic little house! It was the perfect place to enjoy a good book by the fire. Excellent amenities with breakfast and the wood ready to be lit in the fireplace. Would recommend for an easy getaway!

    Chloe2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely beautiful and the hosts have put so much thought in to little touches which make the stay just perfect! A folder FULL of information about the local area, restaurants, takeaways and activities to do was really useful. The breakfast and snacks were also a really nice touch, with milk and fresh orange juice in the fridge! Hosts were very helpful with directions when we were unsure of where to go. Open fire was a beautiful touch and having it set and ready to light was really useful! The place was so clean and beautiful, overall an amazing stay and will definitely be back 😊

    Lauren2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Bothy! The location is great - very close to the coastal path (20 minutes walking, and 10 minutes to the bus stop) but also in a beautiful secluded location in the middle of the countryside. The bothy itself was perfect - clean, stylish and cozy, carefully tended with the greatest attention to detail. The fireplace had been prepared and was ready to be lit, wood logs were available in the porch. We did not have the pleasure to meet Diana, as she was not around during our stay, but we met Jamie - a wonderful host! Friendly and hospitable, he came to greet us, checked on us to make sure we had all we needed, and helped us arrange our stay for an extra night. We'll be back soon!

    Cristiana2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • All the space you really need! The fireplace was stocked and ready to be lit, which was a lovely touch. Cozy living room and comfy beds! A great stop!

    Lauren2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. Dianna made everything easy with breakfast items, check in with a lock box, and extra fuel for the fire. The location is really beautiful and so peaceful, yet very convenient for the coast. The accommodation is quite small but had everything we needed for a self catering stay. We recommend The Bothy.

    Alison2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at the Bothy. Much better than staying in a hotel, just like home from home. We found it very clean, comfortable and quiet, set in a beautiful location and would love to stay again when we can spend more time exploring the surrounding area.

  • We visited with our kids and my parents; Alex’s house was great for this. My parents downstairs with their own bathroom and us upstairs. Elie is a lovely place to visit. Alex’s house is a few minutes walk from the beach as well as The Ship Inn

    Karen2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic, spacious accommodation in the perfect location - next to the beach, open spaces, great pubs and a lovely community. Highly recommend!

    Louise2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great house in an excellent location. Plenty of space inside and out, and only moments from the coastal path, the beach and, of course, the Ship Inn. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was warm and cosy. The stairs are in the dining room so the downstairs bedroom is quite separate from the upstairs room. Great for friend groups or multi-generation stays, but parents of younger children might not like that separation. We didn't mind bringing our own towels but this might not suit guests travelling light. We would highly recommend this house, it would be great for a longer stay as it's well equipped and homely and very comfortable.

    Richard2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fab location, with plenty of space. Well equipped kitchen too!

    Judith2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • A great home, all you need inside and a great location, just a few minutes from the beach. Bonus to have a garden too. Alex was flexible about the arrival time which was appreciated and communication was good. Thanks Alex.

  • An ideal location to explore the East Neuk of Fife and house is an easy walk from a fantastic beach. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed their stay here and would recommend it to anyone. The Wynd is situated in the middle of New Gilston country hamlet, stop at the red phone box and you have found us. We are 10 minutes from StAndrews and 2 minutes from the Peat Inn Restaurant. Overall, a good quality place to stay, close enough to enjoy everything the area has to offer yet secluded and private to relax.
The spacious private self catering accommodation is adjacent to our family home, offering ample car parking and uninterrupted countryside views spanning from the Largo Law to Edinburgh from it's panoramic windows. Entering from the protection of the car port, an entrance hallway and wide wooden staircase will lead you to discover the elevated appartment and it's Scottish themes! The functional bits : Sleeping - 1 large bedroom - king size bed, with ample wardrobe and drawer space and double metal framed sofa bed in the living area, (it's a good one) with themed linen throughout. Bathroom - powerful shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Dining - fully fitted kitchen with 4 seater table, gas hob, cooker, fridge, freezer, washing machine and helpful stuff like toaster, kettle and microwave. Wi-Fi - Yes, most important thing these days. The comfy bits : Relaxing - the living area has two large rotating sofa seats and large L shaped sofa. Spacious - the accommodation is made bright and spacious with eleven Velux windows, or can be dark and cosy closing the blackout blinds for a long lie.....unless the birds wake you up! Cosy - gas central heating and super- insulated! TV has Amazon Firestick and DVD library if you want a cosy night in as we guess that you come here to get away from it all. And finally, well behaved dogs are welcome to stay and enjoy the surrounding woodland walks.
  • Fantastic little cottage which is well appointed and beautifully decorated. It’s incredibly peaceful and relaxing with lovely views of the countryside. An ideal haven for a relaxing weekend away. We have lovingly converted a 200 year old cartshed into 2 cottages. Braeview Cottage at Braeside Farm is a spacious studio space with a king size bed on the mezzanine floor. Downstairs next to a modern kitchen we have a large open area with large french doors to a patio that allow you to enjoy the view across the Brae. On a farm set in 13 acres and 500 m from the nearest road, you will savour the tranquillity yet it's a 10 to 15 min drive to St Andrews and an hour from Edinburgh Airport.
Six miles from St Andrews and an array of gorgeous East Neuk fishing villages you will be exceptionally well placed for golfing and the beaches. The road biking around here is exceptional and there is heaps of other stuff to enjoy. Walking distance to the Michelin starred Peat Inn restaurant. Look up Braeside Farm Holiday Cottages on Facebook & Google for more information.
We are 500 m away to the B941 via a track. Peat Inn is a 10 to 15 min drive from St Andrews and home to the acclaimed and Michelin starred Peat Inn Restaurant. Other than that it's gorgeous East Neuk countryside fringed by St Andrews, super little fishing villages and beaches. And our famous microclimate where it never rains, except sometimes.... :)
  • It is a super clean lovely cottage. You will love it too. Nick and Sophie are great hosts. Nick and Sophie's cottage is beautifully decorated. Nick and Sophie are great hosts. The house is super clean and cozy.

  • Our stay exceeded expectations on all levels. The cottage was beautiful and so peaceful, extremely clean too. It was not far from St. Andrews town centre but far enough from the hustle and bustle and a fraction of the price of the hotels. The best part was the very thoughtful touches of a home bake, jam and procesco on arrival. It really made the difference for us. The hosts recommended Forgans and The Peat Inn which we dined in and loved! We loved out stay and cannot wait to return. Roslynn and Max x

  • A perfect place to stay for a relaxing, peaceful few days. The cottage was spotless, very comfortable and felt really well looked after. Definitely the nicest air BnB we've stayed in! Thanks for a lovely few days!

  • We had a really wonderful stay at the braeview cottage. The cottage is a beautiful space that has been kept to an extremely high standard. The wood burning stove was a lovely bonus! Sophie and Nick were extremely warm and friendly hosts who made our trip feel really special, they even baked for us and left a bottle of Prosecco which was so kind! We had an amazing stay and would thoroughly recommend this cottage for a relaxing time away.

    Leah2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Braeview for my husband’s birthday. The cottage is very peaceful, but not too off the beaten track and really easy to get to from Edinburgh. The cottage was sparkling clean on arrival and so cosy. Lots of nice touches & very comfortable. Really enjoyed the open plan layout and the lovely views from the patio doors. We had everything we needed! We had lunch at The Peat Inn (an easy 8 mins walk away) and would definitely recommend staying at Braeview if you’re planning a special meal at The Peat Inn and want to make a weekend of it!

    Teresa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very comfortable and cosy place for two, and was lovely to come back to after being out on a blustery winter's day. The log burner was very easy to light and added to the cosy feel. The open plan space works really well and the owner's have made it into a simple yet stylish place to stay. Lovely and quiet, yet not particularly off the beaten track and easy to find . Very convenient for visiting St Andrews and Crail. Would love to visit again in warmer weather and get the benefit of the patio space!

    Julia2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
