  • A MUST SEE! This place is so much more amazing than the pictures and description even show. We only stayed for one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. You won’t want to leave! Beautiful views of the city, amazing amenities (especially considering you’re in a treehouse), and wonderful host who gave great local tips. If we’re ever back in Cork, we would love to stay here again! Highly recommend, it’s worth every penny!

    Rachel2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Got a night stay here for my brother and fiance as an engagement present. They absolutely loved it. It was cozy, tranquil, gorgeous view. Proper tree house experience! Perfect place to go stay, especially with the countries current situation, if you want get away and to maintain social distancing!! Breakfast was delivered in a basket, pulled up to the treehouse, beautiful touch!

  • This was our absolute favorite place we stayed on our 9 day trip around Ireland. There are so many sweet touches that makes this treehouse magical. The croissants in the morning were warm and delicious. The bathroom has a heater which was fabulous because it was cold when we stayed. The view is also amazing! If you’re weary about staying here, don’t be. It is awesome!! Also, Richard was very responsive and helpful with our late arrival and extended our check out time because it was not nice out.

The views are stunning and it's just the most amazing setting you could wish for. https://wanderingirishcailin.com/2018/04/28/the-ultimate-weekend-getaway-in-kinsale/ Kinsale quayside Kinsale hosts an annual jazz festival, which takes place during the last weekend of October. Pubs and hotels in the town host concerts by jazz and blues groups throughout the weekend, including on the last Monday of October (which is a bank holiday in Ireland).[34][35] The monumental steel, originally unpainted, sculpture The Great Wall of Kinsale, by Eilis O'Connell and installed in 1988 to celebrate Kinsale's achievements in the Tidy Towns competition, stands by Pier Road and Town Park.[36] Bastion, a restaurant on Market/Main streets, received a Michelin Star in 2020.[4] Chef Keith Floyd was previously a resident of Kinsale.[37] Kinsale is a holiday destination for both Irish and overseas tourists.[2] Leisure activities include yachting, sea angling, and golf. The town also has several art galleries, and there is a large yachting marina close to the town centre. The town is known for its restaurants,[3] including the Michelin-starred Bastion restaurant,[4] and holds a number of annual gourmet food festivals.[5] Historical buildings in the town include St. Multose's Church (Church of Ireland) of 1190, St. John the Baptist (Catholic) of 1839, the Market House of c. 1600, and the so-called French Prison (or Desmond Castle, associated with the Earls of Desmond) of c. 1500. Charles Fort, a partly restored star fort of 1677, is in nearby Summercove.[6] Kinsale, County Cork is all about scenery, stories and surprises. let's start with the surprises, Kinsale is hopping like no place else in Ireland in the cool of an Irish spring. The town is busy with locals and tourists alike, with many French, recently arrived overnight from Roscoff giving a well dressed look, to an already well heeled and presented town. Steeped in stories, the defeat of the Irish in the Battle of Kinsale 1601 changed the course of Irish history forever with the Flight of the Earls (the old order of Irish chieftains) and the arrival of the British planters. But, long before even that event, it was an important trading port on the route to the new world. Landmark taverns and the Dutch style courthouse, where the inquest into the sinking of the Luistania in 1915 was held as well as medieval Desmond Castle still survive as do most of the other character houses in and around the narrow maze of streets that thankfully have not been demolished in the name of progress or greed.... Kinsale thrives on its waterfront location, the galleons which once sailed right up town have been replaced with leisure craft for both sailing and fishing. The Kinsale regatta is one of the longest running in Ireland and as popular as ever. Thirty years ago, Kinsale pioneered the Slow Food Movement with local artisan food producers getting together with chefs to produce the most wonderful food. In fact there seems to be more bars, restaurants and cafes per square mile here than in Dublin and as I say its busy, busy, busy. But the people are warm and friendly and for the most characters like Martin Shanahan who’s mad about fish and is leading a nationwide campaign to get us all back cooking and eating it. You will spoiled for choice restaurant wise and there is certainly somewhere to suit all tastes and pockets. A great weekend destination or starting point on a scenic road trip around West Cork.... 10 Other Things To Do and See in and around Kinsale..... 1 First up Dermot Ryan’s walking tour of Kinsale is a must, tailor made, instantly, to suit the interests and nationalities of the various individuals who show up on the day. Warm, witty and informative, it’s the best €5 you will spend in Kinsale, tour departs daily at 10.30 from the Tourist Office on the quay and takes about an hour. 2 In these days of online everything is there anything better when on holidays than browsing a real bookshop rather than a virtual one and having a book talk to you or fall into your hands as well as a chat with the owner of the Kinsale Book Shop who’ll advise you on the latest arrivals re Irish interest or just a downright, good old-fashioned read, as well as the state of the industry! 3 Followed by coffee and the best lemon meringue pie in Ireland at the Lemon Leaf or a real hot chocolate in Jo’s. I must say I like this kind of niche marketing, it certainly adds to the relaxation element of a pleasant saturday morning shop when my stomach nods in agreement without even having to bother my mind. 4 The Boathouse Gallery with an electic selection of sea inspired images, I particularly liked but couldn’t afford, as usual, the Dee Pieters landscapes of West Cork with their mirror like water elements and bottomless lakes. With a warm Cork welcome from the owner, who knows well you are only browsing and unlikely to buy, well not this time perhaps, but maybe next time? 5 And then there are the stalwarts like Jim Edwards, the Blue Haven and the Spaniard out the road, that have been there forever. There’s a great line up of music most nights throughout the summer, good food and perfect pints all day and plenty of atmosphere all with walking distance of each other. 6 And no shortage of restaurants obviously in the Gourmet Capital of Ireland, cheap and cheerful Crackpots and Brunos to more expensive Finns Table and Fishy Fishy with the Black Pig doing tapas but my absolute favourite is up next? 7 Bulman Pub, Summercove, never was a place more aptly named, location? tick! sunset, if you are lucky? tick! atmosphere? most definitely! great pints, cold beer or glass of wine? for sure! And the best oysters, lobster and seafood you will eat anywhere in Ireland. 8 Charles Fort, after the defeat of the Irish in 1601 the English built this French style star shaped fort at the mouth of the harbour and installed a garrison of over 1000 troops which remained in Kinsale for over 400 years until we got our independence in1922. You can visit by car or on foot, a nice walk out via Scilly, take a Harbour Cruise or Hire a Boat during the summer. 9 Old Head, Kinsale, known as the 'Edge of the World’ at the time, it still looks like that, a rugged peninsula, jutting out 3 miles out into the Atlantic with its famous lighthouse and Celtic marriage stone. It now belongs to private consortium who have developed a world class links and exclusive golf club which is on every golfers bucket list of courses to play before they die
  • This property is simply spectacular. The views are stunning and it’s a fabulous getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back!

  • We were here to celebrate a 30th and 40th. Both people ended up having the best weekend ever. I wouldn't do any justice describing the house, it really just is breathtaking. The host was more than helpful in answering all my queries.

  • This is an amazing house with unbelievable views. It’s quiet and private and we had a wonderful time here.

    Deborah2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house with beautiful views. Everything is super modern, and there are lots of spaces for groups to hang out, but also enough rooms to get some privacy when desired. Rooms are very comfortable and clean, making the entire house cozy. Make sure you catch the sunset on the back porch with a nice cup of tea! Kinsale is a great town to spend the weekend away. Lots of great food. Highly recommend The Supper Club. Also full of shops and off licenses to get anything you need. Communication was very easy, which made things fluid. Only complaint was the lack of basic items in the house, such as basic cooking supplies, additional towels for going to the beach, toilet paper and kitchen paper etc. You need to get these items for a comfortable stay yourself.

    Brian2020-01-03T00:00:00Z

  • Perfect retreat South of Cork. Ann was kind enough to pick me up from Belgooly, and her son dropped me off at the bus stop on the day I left. The views from the cabin are spectacular and the cabin is cosy. Definitely a great stay for a couple or a single traveler. The dog, Sandy, coming to hang out was a perk :)

    Bri2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning location where you can sit on the deck looking out to sea. Cabin itself is basic but clean and comfortable. Ann and her family are warm and welcoming and excellent hosts. Looking forward to our next stay at the Cabin!

    Caroline2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t beat the view from the cabin or cozying up by the fire to read after a day of exploring the area. Ann was a great host and super friendly, and we were also pleased that her sweet dog Sandy gave us a visit one night. Like others have mentioned, Ann gives great directions to the house but it is on a narrow and windy road - best to find it the first time during the day!

    Jessie2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location, lovely and cosy with the stove lit. Ann was very welcoming and gave us eggs, bread and milk for breakfast. Looking forward to visiting during the summer months when the evenings are longer

    Jacinta2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding location with views that are better than seen on-line. Basic as Ann describes it but it’s so comfortable. First time in a long time we have gone without a TV but it was so worth it, hubby and I actually chatted for hours listening to music, haven’t done much of that and it was lively until we disagreed on what was going to be played next lololol

    Eleanor2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a gem! We spent a couple of nights there. Ann greeted us , and provided local tips for the area. Ann’s dog , Sandy is so sweet...she would greet us in the morning on our way out. We ventured into Kinsale both nights and ate at the Bluehaven. Food was great, service was ok! Our second day was spent at the cliffs of moher, coming back to the cabin was just what we needed. In closing, the cabin is perfect for spending time with your special someone and getting away from the daily routine. Ann provided a memorable experience of Ireland! Hope to be able to come back one day!!!

    Maureen2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a delightful get-way dream. Picturesque views of the ocean, beach and rolling pastures. A short drive to wonderful Kinsale. We had a memorable stay with Ann.

  • The pictures of Ann's Cabin do not do it justice, the cabin is amazing! Gorgeous view and everything you need in a cosy cabin, perfect location, 10 mins from Kinsale - Ann is a great host and we loved Sandy the dog!

This cozy cottage is a perfect escape from our present Covid chaos. A unique piece of history in a beautiful and relaxed seaside village; the cottage was constructed in the sixteen hundreds and has a timeless homely feel. We are only a five minute walk from Myrtleville beach:) The antique stove (and central heating) provides gorgeous heat and fuel is provided for guests no matter what the season. Stunning coastal walks are easily reached and bound to impress no matter what the weather.
This charming gardeners cottage pre-dates Myrtleville House (which adjoins the cottage) and was built behind the sheltering walls of a 2 acre vegetable garden. Once said to be used as a small monastery, it is a truly unique building in a gorgeous setting. As soon as the fire is lighting and the kettle is on; the worries of the modern world should start to ease away. Over the last couple of years I have been renovating and improving every room in an effort to improve comfort while maintaining the old world charm. The kitchen is the heart of the home, with a cosy antique wood burning stove (fuel provided). It is the kind of room that's perfect for tea drinking and long chats. The low light of candles (many provided) is the best choice if you really want a trip back in time. We have two large double rooms upstairs and a single room downstairs. The layout of the cottage is slightly unorthodox but it was constructed almost 400 years ago so that can be forgiven. Out in the garden, there are hammocks and a geodesic dome which provide an excellent spot for a relaxation. Parking is provided of course, there is lots of space and it is very safe.
Myrtleville is a beach town within in a small river valley. Baile an Cuainin is its original Irish name and it means town of the little cove. Myrtleville beach is a popular destination for day visitors from the city. Going east or west along the rocks from the beach can help you to discover secluded swimming holes and tidal pools if you're interested in a little exploration. One thing that is often said about this place is that once here people rarely want to leave. Its just so easy to pass the day relaxing its hard to consider other options. The local foodstore, O Connells is great for stocking almost all the groceries that you may need. It is a 5 minute walk from our door. I always encourage visitors to take to the sea-shore, no matter what time of year it may be. There are plenty of beaches and natural swimming holes and if you want peace seclusion then you will find it there. The Myrtleville Swimmers are a local sea swimming group who swim all year round in the atlantic. There is nothing quite like the Atlantic to wake you up in the morning! If any guests are interested in taking a plunge I can give you all of the information on swim times etc. Foraging for wild food is very easy here with blackberries, mussels, cockles and sea-spinach in abundance at the right time of year. Just ask me where to go and what to look for and take it from there. For night-time entertainment you wont have to go far. There's always great live music happening locally from traditional folk sessions to some hefty blues rock in The Lodge. This little local is half way to the beach and worth a stop if you're thirsty:) A short walk from the cottage (and the Lodge if you fancy a short pub crawl!), just above the cliffs and the crashing Atlantic sits Bunnyconnellan our local restaurant where you can sit and enjoy stunning sea views. The last anchorage of the Titanic can be seen from here. Just a 5 minute drive (or a lovely seaside walk) from Myrtleville is the fishing village of Crosshaven. Home to the oldest yacht club in the world, The Royal Cork Yacht Club, and the spectacular Fort Camden where you can get a tour of the battlements and tunnels that helped to keep the harbour safe during war times. There is couple of charming little cafes where it is very easy to while away some time over a coffee, lunch or breakfast. You might be lucky enough to get here in time for one of our local festivals, like the crazy Red Head Convention, the Traditional Sail weekend or the annual Folk Festival. Kinsale is also close by, 20 minutes drive and such a beautiful town with lots to do there too. Fountainstown beach is just 15 minutes by foot (2 minutes by car) and is perfect for low-tide walks. There are many secluded swimming holes between here and there. Kids and adults alike can partake in the Funkytown Adventure Centre, where it is possible to do kayak rental and guided tours of the coastline, wake-boarding, tubing and lots more. Anyone who gets properly ensconced in the area will be charmed by the people here, its a small town with a good community of super friendly people....especially in the pubs:)

  • This is a very special place with lovely personal touches, and very cosy, even in mid-Winter. Mark left us some honey and other breakfast essentials and even thought of turning on the electric blanket for us! He gave us some local tips and was quickly available for anything we needed. Would highly recommend.

  • We would URGE you to make this home a stop on your list. Go out of your way, it’s worth it! Our stay was above and beyond expectation.

    Amy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a wonderland of farm and coastal life, the perfect place to rest and recharge in winter and I imagine a terrific base to visit the coastline of Cork in the summer. The rooms are decorated with comforting eccentricities and the stove tenderly heats the kitchen and living room, keeping you cosy at all times. Mark is a kind and relaxed host, making sure you have everything you need and always on hand in any eventuality.

  • The stay with Laura was absolutely amazing! The Lodge is just perfect for self catering and a cosy night in if you wish. The views over the River Bandon from the front and rear are serene , tranquil and pretty. We took a wonderful walk for an hour around the peninsula taking in the landscape . quite wonderful! Laura was very kind providing essential supplies for our arrival and made everything very comfortable , also gave good local knowledge and contacts for cabs etc. I can only highly recommend this accommodation.

  • We had a wonderful stay. Laura is a wonderful host. Although she had to work late, she made a point of welcoming us and gave us some great ideas of places to visit in the area, and the best way to get there. The apartment is sparkling clean, and she had lovely touches to welcome us, such us fresh flowers, coffee, tea, juice and breads with butter and delicious jam for breakfast. We highly recommend staying here.

    Mary2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay - close to Kinsale but in a quiet, rural setting. Laura and her husband were both welcoming & we enjoyed our time there. Nice tidy space & fresh flowers waiting on our arrival! She gave us ideas on where to eat, where to get our laundry done and let us know where to park so we didn't have to drive the crowded streets of Kinsale.

    Patrice2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house just outside Kinsale with outstanding views. Hosts were so lovely and welcoming. Added touches like milk, bread, butter and jam when we arrived were lovely.

Single room in the center of Cork City. Two single beds available. Private bathroom. Easy access to the airport, train station, bus station, universities, tourist spots, hospitals and more. Near the residence you will find the best pubs and restaurants of Cork City, supermarkets and so on. We provide a small breakfast with tea, coffe, milk, cereal and toast. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our home.
  • They are great hosts, so sweet and welcoming into their home. The space is very clean, and there are clear instructions for the heater and shower as well. The nice offer of tea, coffee, toast, etc. is a great touch too! It’s a perfect location just a 6 min walk into the town but perfectly nestled right over the bridge, with a fun bar and coffee shop 3 min walk away. I stayed with my boyfriend and the pull out bed and twin bed situation was not a problem at all. They even went out of their way to introduce themselves. I would recommend to stay with them :)

  • Lilian's place is the perfect spot for on-the-go travelers. My friend and I stayed at her place for 2 nights and she was incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating (she let us check in 3 hours early!). This is the lowest price I can go through Airbnb. I have the place advertised independently as well on Gumtree.
Completely detached and separate entrance for great privacy. Microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge available. There is no kitchen. The property has a spacious hallway with a wardrobe, table and chairs; a bright living area/bedroom with a king size bed, chest of drawers and big screen TV. The wet room has a power shower, a sink with a cabinet, a wall cabinet and a toilet.
Quiet and safe cul de sac, with a great range of options in the immediate vicinity. There is free parking available in the square.
  • My first time staying there, I was very happy with the accommodation. It's private, spacious, TV and Wifi are great, it has everything you need to have a comfortable stay and its great value. There are shops close by and its only a 20-minute walk to the city centre. Alin was very helpful and quick to answer questions. Would be happy to stay there again.

    Fergal2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very private and big room with lots of light. It was a bit furthen from city centre that we expected but got there and back easily. Easiest to take a taxi there from airport or city centre with lots of baggage. The busses were easy enough and close enough to use.

    Jacki2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, very new, modern and clean. Amazing TV, WiFi works great, I hardly see better in Ireland.

  • Amazing place, best value ever, super nice and comfy place. 100% recommended

    Isma2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is nice and clean. It is within the premises of the hosts' own apartment and opens up to the garden which was great for our little one. Alin gave us useful tips about sightseeing and local amenities.

    Arvind2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Alin's place is amazing. It is quaint with a beautiful view and within walking distance of Cork city. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in Cork. He was very fast with responding and introduced himself to us at the beginning and asked if we needed help when we were leaving. Very kind person and wonderful home. Very grateful for the hospitality and having our own private space.

    Katie2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and spacious private apartment. Well located. Difficult to find cheaper. Ease of check in and checkout. Definitely a 5 stars.

    Julien2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely private, quiet location. Everything you need for a few days stay. Easy parking. We didn’t walk to Cork City Centre as we took the bus 214/203 €2.60 every 20 minutes. Alin was very responsive when we wanted extra pillows. Shower was hot. Massive telly! Would definitely highly recommend. Excellent value for money. Thank you Alin

  • Our double room was indeed spotless and the room heater works really well. Also, the hot water for the shower lasted well. Parking was manageable even though it did require a bit of a walk. Location was excellent, very near all the action in Cork. One word of advice, when you climb the stairs once you’re in, find apartment 10 upstairs before seeking out your room number.

  • Beautiful place close to the city centre, Bus station and nice pubs. Room, shared areas, bathroom well kept and clean. Comfortable bed and nice amenities included! Claudia and Jonatas are really kind and helpful. Unfortunately I stayed just for a night and left in the early morning so I did not spend time with them but the first impression was truly nice. I really reccomend place and hosts!

  • The apartment is located in a perfect location to visit cork and to reach the most popular sites, including cork rail station and cork bus station. Near the apartment there are pubs, supermarkets, bar and restaurant, but the zone is quiet, so there's no problem for sleeping. Bathroom is shared but always cleaned up. Breakfast was good and it includes much types of jams, bread, coffee, milk and so on. Jonathas and Claudia are very kind and friendly people. Very fast replies and very helpful. See u next time!!!

  • Such a perfect space - hosts are amazing and set you up for a great trip in Cork. Highly recommend making this part of your stay

    Cara2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio was perfect! Just what we needed for a two night stay in Cork. The amenities are top notch and made us feel right at home. The bathroom is beautiful - we really loved having the skylight ceiling and it made the space feel so spacious. The small kitchen has everything we needed for our time there and the thoughtful items in the fridge were much appreciated. We were able to park our rental car in the back of the Studio which was very convenient for when we wanted to walk into the city. There are many pubs to checkout within about a 10min walk and a ton of spots in the city center which is about 15-20min. We would definitely recommend this spot and would happily stay again when returning to Cork!

    Emily2020-03-10T00:00:00Z

  • Our two night stay at this cottage was fantastic. It’s in a quiet neighborhood on the south side of the Lee and fairly easy to find using Ireland’s new eircodes. We arrived to a fully stocked mini fridge of everything we would need for breakfast along with all the fixings for tea and coffee. The place is stylishly decorated and very cozy. Rebekah has literally thought of everything and we were just so impressed. We also loved the location as we could easily walk to “Paddy the Farmers” for dinner and a pint (food was very good) as well as into town. I would highly, highly recommend this place.

    Windy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was a wonderful place to stay over our weekend in Cork! We couldn't fault the hospitality we received and could confidently say that we have never stayed in an AirBnB property which has better amenities. The place was sparklingly clean and with unbeatable style. Plentiful soft towels and comfortable bedding with delicious breakfast food! We found the free on-street parking to be incredibly handy and it was easily walking distance from anywhere in Cork city. We couldn't fault it and would be happy to recommend it to anyone who was coming to Cork! Thank you so much for having us!

    Marcus2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a nice, clean, stylish and comfy spot. You get all the intimacy you need and the self check happened to be very handy for us (which were unsure about our arrival timings). Would stay again if coming back to Cork!

    Esther2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend Ken and Rebekah’s place enough. Myself and my friend stayed for 2 nights and loved the cosy space which looks like it is straight out of an interiors magazine. The colours used are so calming. The bed was so comfy with a proper feather duvet. The kitchen and bathroom were so cute and stylish and had everything we needed, including gorgeous body shop soaps and shampoo and other useful items. The fridge was stocked up with breakfast items for us which was such a lovely touch. The temperature was perfect and there is a really cool blue tooth player installed. Rebekah was an amazing host and was in contact with us before and during our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. She gave us loads of good tips for bars and restaurants etc. All of which were very cool places to go to! I could go on and on but I cannot recommend this little place enough. I cannot wait to come back. 5 stars all the way!!

Breakfast was provided which was lovely and the little extra touches such as toiletries and leaflets and water in the room really made this place special.

  • Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Dan's house is perfectly clean, welcoming, and conveniently located, and he is a helpful and friendly host. Highly recommend!

    Mikayla2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dan is very kind and prevenant. Lot of story about Ireland, and good advices to visit the city. Perfect stay for me.

    Ivan2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dan’s hospitality was great, the best I’ve had with Airbnb. The room is perfect for a single traveller in Cork. He is also very good for local tips. I’ll visit again if I’m in the area!

    Jonny2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Dan’s place is clean and lovely! It is amazing that there are sooo many books! Definitely a good place to stay in Cork. Dan is super nice, and we had a great conversation! Thanks a million!

    Liu2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Dan is absolutely amazing. When I stay in an AirBnB I like to feel like I'm at home and not in someone else's space. It's also great when you can have real honest conversations with your host and learn new things. Dan is a prime example of this. We had such great chats and he knows so much about Ireland and Cork, it's a real joy getting lost in conversation with him about music, hobbies and life. If you want a personal stay that you'll remember forever and a relaxed host who let's you treat the place as your home, then Dan's place should be top of your list. You're a pure dote Dan!

    Stephen2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place, easy to get to from the airport and very close to the city center. Dan is very nice and will give you great tips to move around and enjoy the city. Totally recommend it!

Bright airy room, in old carriage house just five minutes walk down to Patrick’s bridge and Cork City Centre. Longer 10 minute walk back up the very steep hill! Working fireplace available for chilly evenings. Quiet house after 9pm.
Original fireplace and vintage feel in this 200 year old building make this place special. A short walk downhill to town makes everything accessible, although it can feel a bit challenging walking back up! The English Market, and all the treasures of Cork are at your doorstep. Very quiet location hidden away from the crowds. This place isn’t fancy, but is a comfortable and welcoming family home. WiFi signal is decent. Nice desk at which to sit and write or work. Looking forward to hosting you.
Beautiful views over Cork as you walk down into town. Five minutes to town, ten minute walk to the English Market. The walk back up the hill is steep, and isn’t for the faint hearted!
  • A lovely place and a great host - gave really detailed instructions for getting to the place.

    Kia2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and spacious room.

    Allison2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Louise is such a nice host and her homely house is perfectly near to Corks city center.

    Patrick2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Louises home. The room was very nice and comfortable, especially the bed. The communication with Louise was very uncomplicated. Whenever I had a question Louise answered very fast.

    Adriana2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Louise's during a very blustery storm, but I felt safe and cozy inside. The bed was very comfortable and Louise had great books in the room. It was all very easy. I won't miss walking up that hill, but it wasn't really all that bad.

    L2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Louise is very flexible and easy going, she accepted hosting my sister and me even though in the beggining I only booked for 1. The room was big enough for 2. The bedroom and the bathroom were both sparkling clean (and well decorated). The heater was on all the time, so when we came home, the house was perfectly warm. We had the key of the house since the very moment we arrived. The house is very close to the city center (5 minutes walk), BUT on the top of an isolated hill. Not ideal to walk home if you're easy to frighten (like me), but a taxi from the center will be around €7. I recommend staying at Louise's very much.

  • Emilie and her husband are amazing host! Their home is cute and cosy. They go out of their way to make you feel at home away from home. Emilie is not only amazing host but super generous and kind human, who gave me a ride to city centre because it was raining! Even if I stayed for a day, I am going to remember her hospitality and care and will look forward to staying for longer period in near future. P.S- If you are a cat lover, their is a surprise for you there!

  • Emilie's place is a great, low-stress place to stay for your stay in Cork. She is a great host, who even gave up her own car so that I could park on the street near her place. I would recommend this place to other travelers!

    Ellen2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Like an oasis in the city of Cork, Emilie ' s home was warm, clean, in a good location and great value.

    Maire2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Advantages Decent price for service Friendly host Close to station and bus terminal Disadvantages It's a bit hard at the top of the hill. There is no table so you can just sleep. Only one toilet on the first floor Review: Hostel is expensive and hotel is more expensive in Cork

Fully equipped private apartment in a quirky house in the heart of Cork city. There's a handy kitchenette for cooking & a cosy private relaxing area for guests. There's a TV screen with DVD player. The player has USB port, HDMI cable and a selection of DVDs 10-15 min walk - Parnell Place Bus depot. 10 min walk - Patrick street. Close to English Market & Nano Nagle place. Fionnbarra on Douglas street is worth a visit; the best beer garden in Cork. We live downstairs if you need us for anything.
This apartment is in a much loved home in an old part of the city. The house was built in 1784, it has lots of charm and character with some modern enhancements. There is a narrowish spiral staircase with 10 steps. Nobody has had a problem with this. Although it's very close to the city centre, it is surprisingly quiet and peaceful here and is a great place to live. The washing machine is downstairs. Let me know if you need to do some laundry. We have an open fire downstairs where we burn solid fuel; coal and wood. There is a stove out the back which we use occasionally.
This house is located just off Douglas Street, the doorstep to the city. It is convenient to all the city has to offer and everything you may need. Our neighbourhood has a village feel although it's only 10 minutes walk to Patrick Street, the citys' main street. Fionnbarra Bar has a great beer garden, it serves good, affordable food (wraps, pannini, pizza, soup and sandwiches) It also stocks a wide selection of craft beers, gin, whiskey and whisky! The Gables bar regularly has traditional Irish music sessions. There is a lovely flower shop with a café near the traffic lights. Also on Douglas Street is 'Bia Blasta', here they serve full Irish breakfast; rashers, sausages, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast etc. 'Tiramisu' café on Probys Quay serve a delicious breakfast. Lá Dolce Vita is next door and great for evening meals. 'Filter' coffee shop on Georges Quay have excellent coffee. Café Velo is nearby on Georges quay with very tasty well priced food. Novacento pizzeria serves delicious pizzas; you can eat in or take away.
  • Very lovely place to stay at Cork! Definitely will come back again!

  • Maria's place is a cosy apartment with excellent amenities. The location is great - around a 5 to 10 minute walk to the centre of Cork, but also has some good local pubs, coffee shops and convenience stores nearby. The apartment also has everything you need if you wanted to spend a night in cooking, and watch TV/DVDs. Maria was very welcoming and friendly when we met. Definitely recommend!

    Emma2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great place do start that's close to everything the city has to offer!

    Croy2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Maria's spot is a perfect, quiet location for exploring central Cork. There are lots of nearby pubs and food options besides the 10 minute walk to the town center. Also, there is a public bus stop about 2 minutes away that will take you to Blarney Village for 3.80 euros in about 35 minutes. Definitely recommend this stay!

    Brett2019-12-18T00:00:00Z

Bright ,modern and compact studio apartment in a lovely riverside location in the heart of the city centre.
Just renovated, this is a ground floor studio apartment - everything is brand new
The apartment is situated in a lovely part of the city, beside the river lee, and next to the city centre. You can stroll to the city centre, shandon bells, sundays well or the mardyke - all only minutes away
  • I would recommend this apartment if you stay in Cork. If I get back to Cork, I would definitely get back to this apartment: 1) The apartment is in a great location, you can walk anywhere in Cork within 15 minutes. 2) Mairead responded very quick any time we had any issue with the apartment. 3) We had anything we need to stay comfortably in the apartment.

    Ignacio2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect location. Cork was very walkable and so much right around the corner for Mairead’s place. Excellent cozy space for two people with all the necessary amenities. We are excited to be back!

    Suzanne2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • I found this efficiency apartment to be small as described but very functional and comfortable. I have a bad back and need a firm bed and this one was perfect. I also am on a restricted diet so being able to prepare simple meals was an immense help. The location is walking distance to so many tourist attractions as well as restaurants, shopping and the cinema. Perfect.

Old small town cottage. right on the lee river in the absolute heart of cork city, 2 minutes walk to all main streets(Patricks st., grand parade). Double bedroom, warm and dry with ample storage for a short visit.
We are an Irish and French couple living here-one musician and one speech therapist student, and along with us is our little dog! we are mostly busy ourselves but when free we like to play music(always open for a jam + plenty of instruments here for you! :D ), talk with people, check out the arts in the city. We would love to meet likeminded people and would be happy to guide you through cork to make your visit as enjoyable as possible! the place itself is comprised of two bedrooms (one for you) single bathroom, kitchen and living area. the place is small but cosy and comfortable.like to think of it as a city-cottage. It is a bit old so don't expect top of the range amenities. we have no tv at the moment! there is fridge/freezer space and storage for food but we will supply a tasty breakfast option and you can help yourself with everything provided (fruit, cereals, oatmeal, eggs, bread, bagels, milk, yogurt, tea/coffee, and orange/apple juice). the place is right in town so everything is within walking distance but if you want to get further outside the city there are trains and national bus services. also, the area is very safe.
very safe and friendly area. situated on the lee river which is nice for evening walks.
  • Charlie and Fanny are excellent hosts and have great recommendations for things to do. The room is really nice, the bed is comfortable, and the location is perfect. So close to downtown, restaurants, and pubs. And Hades is the sweetest dog!! Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Fanny and Charlie's place is perfectly located for getting around in Cork. It is charming and they are friendly, thoughtful hosts who took great care of our needs. Hades the dog is an amazingly cool, cuddly bonus! We got many tips from them, could be independent to come and go, and really enjoyed listening to the talented Charlie sing and play guitar at a local pub. Thank you for sharing your home!

It's a very short walk to the famous McCurtain Street with its wonderful variety of restaurants and bars - there are food and drinking experiences available to suit every taste. The city centre is just a minute or two beyond - all in all no more than 10 minutes from your doorstep. Our neighbourhood is a fantastic place to live - and will make an excellent holiday location too.

Took me in on a two hour notice, and late evening at that. Marie is a very generous person, and social. Also has all the touring pamphlets in the reading room. Thank you again Marie!!

The place is still wonderful - very homely. If you are after a pristine Ikea'd-up soulless place to stay, find somewhere else. If you are after simple accommodation, clean, welcoming, in a great location, with delightful and relaxed hosts, this is the place for you! Looking forward to staying there again next year!

Cozy Private room is 5 mins walking distance from St. Patrick bridge. Perfect bed for one person, however, it can suit 2 people. Superbly located double room close to art and culture, restaurants, bars and nightlife of Cork. The room is in a quiet residential building and very safe.
You can have self-service coffee and tea anytime, biscuits, hair dryer, soap, shampoo etc. You can use kitchen and leave your food in the fridge but please be aware I am not able to provide and serve full Breakfast in the morning as I am out of the house very early and most of the time.
I live in the Shandon area. It's just 5min walking to the St. Patrick bridge. Historic quarter of city centre. Here in Shandon, was established the Butter Exchange where butter brought in from west county Cork and Kerry were graded and sold to the British navy and around the work. It became a massive industry. The Butter Museum, just down the street is a must-visit to understand the social and economic history of Cork and Ireland.
  • Lovely flat closed to the city centre in a quiet disctrict. I fully recommend.

College Road runs along the UCC. Shops, cafes, bank and pharmacy nearby. On the city bus route 205 . Just a 20 minute stroll to the city centre. The small single room is cosy and bright. The large bathroom is spotless . Also, you can relax in the back garden. I have a dog , Charlie, a very human friendly springer spaniel. He will be happy to welcome you. It is kept outside except when the weather is bad. It is a valuable security asset.

  • Kate and Dermot’s flat couldn’t have been more perfect for my needs. Their son Sean checked me and everyone involved was very friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent, quick 15-20 min walk into the city centre and St Luke’s is great in its own right (it is at the top of a hill so I might recommend a taxi if you have lots of luggage, but I found it very walkable and view is well worth it). I found the place very clean and it had all the amenities I could ask for including a washer and dryer. It’s an older place with some quirks but between the location and price I highly recommend to any low maintenance travelers who want their own space.

  • Expect a small but welcoming home. The apartment is two floors, each with a bathroom. The kitchen, open from 8:00 to 9:30 is very large and welcoming. The breakfast is very rich. The room I stayed in was large enough for a couple. Very positive experience. Ps: From 22:00 it is requested not to make noises. Be careful when you go home at night because if you sleep upstairs the stairs creak in an important way.

    Davide2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Location The location of this accommodation is close to everything(tourist spots, pub, supermarket etc) and safe. Room The layout of the furniture was different from the picture and the room was bigger than the picture. The bathroom and kitchen are always clean and tidy and they clean everyday. Host The host couple are very friendly, kind and they have a warm heart and good personality. I had a big heavy luggage and The host helped me carry my luggage up the stairs. I stayed there in the week of Christmas. I was worried about what to do alone on Christmas because all the shops were closed for Christmas. but the host couple invited me to a Christmas Eve party and a Christmas lunch. I had a really great christmas in Cork. If you're going to Cork, don't hesitate to stay at this place!
