This self-contained unit is an annex to our own house which means we are available to welcome you, offer advice or help you plan your stay. The accommodation is on 2 floors with the lounge/kitchen area, and bathroom + shower downstairs, and a large, double bedroom upstairs, a sofa bed + child's sofa bed. It is comfortable for 2-3 people but can sleep up to 5 people with three single sofa beds, and a convertible sofa. If you need an extra bed, a double bedroom is available in the house.
Pillows and duvets are feather but if you have allergies, let us know in advance as we have other hypo-allergenic bedding. This is a peaceful, quiet area - perfect for relaxing after a busy day working, travelling or sightseeing. There is a large drive in the front of the house for parking.
There are restaurants, pubs and bars in Wilmslow town centre. The closest place to eat is the Unicorn pub which is 200 yards away from the apartment and can be reached on foot, turning left at the front gate. Local places of interest are Styal Mill, Tatton Park, Lyme Park and Dunham Massey. Manchester is a 20-minute drive (12 miles). Liverpool, Chester and the Peak District National Park are less than an hour away. There is easy access to north Wales, and the Lake District in two hours.
  • This place is an absolute gem. Ideally located for the airport, fantastic host and amazing for us to leave our cars too! Can’t thank you enough!

  • Susan’s place was small but clean and had everything you need. She also left milk, tea, cereals, bread butter and jam for us which were thoughtful touches. There were plenty of extra duvets and pillows if required. Susan is friendly and her communication was prompt. We would consider staying again if in the area.

Kitchen was really well stocked with breakfast options more than we expected. Would absolutely recommend to family & friends

'The Vestry' is an 1846 church building, now a delightful studio cottage for couples, families or business trips with easy access to Manchester airport/city. On the edge of the Peak District it includes a comfortable double bed, 2 single beds on the mezzanine and a single bed (if reqd). Relax in front of the wood burning stove, or on the lovely rear deck overlooking our brook and woodland. It’s an easy 5 minute walk to the village with great pubs, shops and restaurants.
Lovingly renovated over the past 5 years, we have transformed The Vestry into a calming, private sanctuary full of character, history and interest. The Vestry comfortably sleeps 4 (although we can accommodate 5), with the main bed on the ground floor and 2 single beds on the mezzanine level. You do need to climb a ladder up to mezzanine so we recommend that only children over 7 should sleep up top. For younger children, or those who need access to the bathroom during the night, we can provide an additional single bed on the ground floor. The mezzanine isn't just for children however, and adults can also sleep up there (just watch the head height) as it can be a little tight (see photos). There is an en-suite bathroom with a fabulous shower, and we provide towels and toiletries, as well as all linen, duvets and pillows. If you're planning to stay for more than a few days, we're happy to do a change over of linen and towels during your stay. (Please ensure you ask us to so we know to have the linen ready for you) The wood burning stove will be ready to light on arrival, so you can enjoy the warmth and ambience of a real fire! There are plenty of board games too, and in the summer the children are welcome to play in the courtyard. We provide a selection of teas, coffee and milk for your arrival so you can settle in after your drive, and there is a variety of cereals for breakfast. In the kitchenette there is an under-counter fridge freezer and microwave. We are within an easy walk to the village and we find a lot of our guests like to eat out when they are here, and with a variety of cafes, delis and restaurants there are lots of great options to choose from. The bi-fold doors open up to a very private deck, overlooking the brook and our woodland, which is full of wildlife. This is a beautiful, secluded spot, with a table and chairs perfect for breakfast, or an end-of-day G&T or glass of wine! You can park on our driveway or smaller cars can drive into the courtyard - there is additional parking around the corner from the property should you need it. Poynton is a fantastic village for walking and cycling and The Vestry is perfectly located. From the front door you can walk to many of the accessible footpaths that weave through the village, up towards the canal and Lyme Park or down through the Village and over to Poynton Pool. We are available to give you any guidance and recommend places to go to should you need it.
Poynton is a lovely small town with a distinctly village feel. It's located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and separated from the Manchester conurbation by a large area of green belt, giving Poynton a semi rural character with a huge amount of green space. We have a great selection of cafes, delis, and restaurants in the village, and lots of independent shops giving it a unique feel. There are a couple of great pubs (The Farmers Arms offers great food), bars and we also have a fantastic live music venue - The Acoustic Lounge - with gigs every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Further away from the village centre, we have some classic country pubs serving great food. The train station is about 1.5 miles away with direct routes to Manchester and we have a regular bus route too.
  • The Vestry itself is a beautiful place to stay, Ian and Emma were very accomodating in person and with their local tips in the cottage guide book!

    Martha2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect little place for a stopover or even for a longer stay. Beautifully presented and equipped with all we needed.

    Glenn2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, clean and private with a lovely outdoor space.

    Eoin2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place just outside Manchester! Absolutely perfect for venturing into Manchester, as the train station is within walking distance. The town itself is gorgeous! Just a short walk to all the quaint little shops and restaurants was just what we wanted, so this was perfect for us! The vestry itself is warm, cosy and has all you need. The little personal touches and added extras were the icing on the cake. The fireplace was also an added bonus on a cold winter evening and it was just perfect after a long day around the shops. Lovely hosts who made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. We would highly recommend this great little place to others.

  • We had a beautiful time at The Vestry and couldn’t rate it higher. So many lovely touches especially the wood burner and space elements... highly recommend to anyone looking for a special and quaint place to stay in Cheshire. Emma and Ian and dog Franky are great hosts and have really put a lot of thought into making the stay a lovely one. Amanda and Ian

  • Lovely place to stay!

    Isabel2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The vestry is a delightful place to stay. It is even better in person than the photos. Ian made every effort to ensure our comfort and assisted us by calling transport, making excellent local suggestions and being a kind and thoughtful individual in general. The vestry is located in the lovely village of Poynton, near many local walks. It is incredibly cosy and we felt extremely welcome. Thank you Ian and Emma for all of the extra touches. We would certainly stay again.

It's conveniently located with easy access to Manchester but is in a beautiful, quiet area with great views. The space is clean and stylish and the hosts are gracious and responsive to questions. • A lovely place to stay for a nice, quiet weekend away. Nicola is a great host and very helpful, she gave us lots of suggestions for where to eat etc. The annexe had everything we needed and more. There were homemade brownies and a couple of gin and tonics which were a lovely touch. The place is within walking distance to the restaurants and bars in the village. I would highly recommend. Thanks Nicola

  • Beautiful annexe with gorgeous decor and sparkling clean. All the small additional touches were perfect and made the night extra lovely. Only thing we didn't realise was just how close it was to next door's garden, if anyone would've been in the garden they could've seen straight in. Luckily there wasn't a soul in sight 😊👌

The Loft on the Green in Bollington is a light, bright and luxurious apartment with its own entrance in to a flag stone hallway and a lovely roof terrace. Right in the centre, near a pretty green, and very close to the popular Lime Tree restaurant, casual dining at Tapa, or the lovely Green cafe.... and of course there are great pubs in Bollington too.. Situated on the edge of the Peak District, surrounded by stunning countryside.
When it's cold outside throw a log on the fire and put your feet up. In the summer you can sit on the roof terrace and relax with a gin & tonic - made by my cousin at Honey Spirits.
There are so many great places to eat and drink in Bollington Either watch the boats float past as you enjoy a full English at the Waterside Cafe, or some fine dining at the Lime Tree restaurant just across the road from the Loft.
  • Beautiful apartment, great location and easy communication. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for having us.

  • Had a lovely stay. Really impressed with the full kitchen. Wish I’d known there was a nespresso machine beforehand as it’s useful to know if you’re a coffee drinker! (Which I am!) Nice little touches with ample tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc.

    Craig2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah was such a great host during my stay and had thought of everything I could need, even starting a fire for my arrival. Would definitely recommend for those wanting a luxury stay.

The rooms were comfy and well furnished and there were lots of lovely things left for us by the host (milk, butter, jams, a bottle of wine and a cake). We would definitely visit again!

  • The Glass House was a lovely place to stay and in a good location in the village. The home made touches and welcome bits Ann left for us were much appreciated after a long journey . The house was really nicely decorated with some nice touches. Ann welcomed us when we arrived and responded promptly if we had a question. If you are a keen walker this is a good base to explore the surrounding countryside. We would definitely stay again when we next visit the area. Thanks Ann for a nice stay.

  • Cosy, spotlessly clean cottage. Ann was very welcoming and helpful. Thoughtful welcome pack including homemade jam and cake made us feel immediately at home. Good location with excellent choice of places to eat.

  • Ann is a wonderful hostess and the glass house is a reflection of this. I love Bollington and being in this location where you can walk, dine and shop is perfect I very highly recommend this cottage.

  • Superior quality accommodation! Clean and tidy, centrally located, very nice interior with comfortable furniture and fully equipped kitchen area. Ideal for two couples or a family.

    Sigbjorn2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Having previously lived in Bollington for 2.5 years, The Glass House provided us with the feeling of being home again. Loved our stay. The cottage had character, style and a cosy upstairs living/kitchen area for those chilly days/evenings. Downstairs bedrooms/bathroom a little cooler but closing doors kept the bedrooms lovely and warm. Very quiet despite bordering the ‘free’ village carpark with the bonus that you are right in the heart of Bollington. Note there is no washer/dryer but access to a laundromat just over the road. Other than that we highly recommend The Glass House.

My home is very welcoming peaceful and cosy. There is adequate free car parking on the street outside or nearby. There is a lovely garden with seating and fresh herbs if you like to cook. It is 6 minutes walk to the train /bus station and Town Centre, full of great stores, pubs and restaurants. Manchester is 20 minutes away on the train. There is a hypermarket 4 minutes walk away.
I have a cosy single room for 1 guest, however if you require the double room, that can be arranged. There is space also for a travel cot.
The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly. Just 4 minutes walk away is the Riverside Park. It is a beautiful walk along the River Bollin, only 45 minute walk to reach Prestbury. I can cook an evening meal, if required. There is cereal and toast, tea and coffee is available for breakfast! I dog walk so you can leave your doggie with me if you need to go places that your dog cannot go!

Everyone comments on how homely the cottage feels, you will have the entire run of the cottage, you can even pick your fresh herbs from the garden. It is only 5 minutes to the town centre, which has plenty of pubs, cafes and wonderful restaurants. There is even a small 250 seat cinema in the heritage centre! Just 5 minutes walk away is the River Bollin, this is a delightful walk, full of wild life and peace. You can walk to Prestbury in 45 minutes along the river!
It is unique because it is very quiet, yet close to the town centre. There is free parking and all amenities close by. There is a corner shop a minutes walk away and a Sainsbury 6 minutes walk away right next to South Park. Your dog is welcome, if you want to bring it along!

Unique, luxury, spacious 4 bedroom cottage in the heart of picturesque Rainow, Cheshire. Sleeps up to 9 comfortably. Perfect for exploring the eastern point of the Peak District and close to the amenities of Macclesfield. The property is a converted pub and dates back to 1810. But has recently been lovingly restored and updated to modern standards, without loosing its natural charm. The property is situated next to the main pub in Rainow, The Robin Hood, which serves hot food through the day.
Recently restored and renovated, extremely spacious character cottage, oozing with charm. Perched on the side of the peak district hills in beautiful Rainow, with magical, open views. Well-equipped for the perfect Peak District stay.
Rainow is a beautiful village and civil parish in Cheshire, England, in the valley of the River Dean and next to the B5470 road between Macclesfield and Kettleshulme. It straddles the eastern side of the Peak District border of Derbyshire and Cheshire. The area is popular among nature observers, walkers, cyclists and para-gliders as well as those looking for romantic stays. The village lies in Cheshire's portion of the Peak District, just North East of the substantial town of Macclesfield; but visitors would never know it, for the hill of Kerridge shields Rainow on the Western side, while to the East, rise some of the highest of the region's peaks - Cat’s Tor and Shining Tor.  The ridge here at “The Tors” marks the parish boundary, (it's a large parish for a small village) and offers wonderful views across the Goyt Valley, with its reservoirs and forests.  Views from Kerridge are no less spectacular, stretching right across the Cheshire plain to the Welsh mountains.  "Rainow" derives from the Old English for "Raven Low" - "low" meaning "hill" in these parts  - and it is an indication of how bleak an environment this would have been in ancient times.  Nevertheless, the village was right at the heart of things, for ancient trackways met here, in the days when ridges were the best places to run packhorse routes; one went North along Kerridge, (literally, "Key Ridge") while an all important route for Cheshire salt ran West-East.  These ancient ways now make for great walking; the Gritstone Trail also skirts the village, while a veritable maze of local paths can take the walker in any direction, to Windgather Rocks, Tegg's Nose, Pym Chair - resonant names for extraordinary places.  At Tegg's Nose Country Park, a few miles South, there is a visitors' centre and a fascinating archaeological trail to follow on foot. The most prominent local feature, (and great short walk destination) is White Nancy, a folly standing at the Bollington end of Kerridge.  Originally the site of a beacon that would have been lit to warn of foreign invasion, the strange, bell-shaped structure was built to celebrate victory over Napoleon, and was a summer house.  Today it is simply a solid lump of a structure, but it has always been painted white.  The origin of "Nancy" is not certain, but may have been taken from the name of one of horses used to pull building materials up the very steep hill. There are numerous ancient standing stones and bronze age tumuli dotted around the area, testament to an unbroken line of settlement, though the village itself did not really get going until the 18th century, when the River Dean was first used to power early cotton mills.  Two of these venerable buildings still stand; Ingersley Vale Mill, built in 1809, was famous for having the second largest water wheel in the country - beaten only by the great Laxey Wheel, on the Isle of Man.  Rainow's prosperity was short-lived, however, as Bollington, only a mile away, had access to the newly dug canal and thus supplies of coal to fuel new, steam-powered mills.  The coming of the railway to Macclesfield did even more to drag the centre of industry away to the West, so that today one would never guess as to the village's industrial past. Coal was mined in the 19th century out of the East side of Kerridge. One of the mines was known as the California drift mine, after one of the local Vare family that had taken part in the Gold Rush there in 1849. The name was shortened to Cali; the stretch of the River Dean that runs along the foot of Kerridge is still known locally as Cali Brook. The Quebec drift mines were dug on the South slope of Big Low, named, again after another Vare family member who had worked in Canada. Quarries are still a feature of the West side of Kerridge, but the predominant view all around Rainow is heavily rural; green pastures, woods and trickling streams. At The Oaks, an area of woodland near Thornsett farm, there is a remnant of the ancient woodland that would have once covered these hills; the oaks in question are Sessile Oak, an upland species, clearly differing from the Common Oak found on the Cheshire Plain. While it may lack shops, the village is blessed with a fine selection of pubs:- on Macclesfield Road, The Highwayman is a traditional 17th century country pub, serving Thwaites bitter and excellent home-cooked food. The Rising Sun offers equally fine ales and  food, while The Robin Hood Inn on Church Brow is open all day for  food and drink, seven days a week.  It has a function room for up to 80 people, making it ideal for large gatherings. At Common Barn Farm there is a tea shop catering for ramblers on the Rainow Ring walkers' footpath.  Jane Osmond's Studio/Gallery at Cesterbridge Cottage, Kerridge End is open to visitors between 10am and 5pm on weekdays. Jane produces original prints, mostly etchings and silk-screens of our local landscape, and teaches the print technique at her studio. For the superstitious, or the ghost hunters among you, the historical records reveal two oddities:- "Two Rainow women, Ellen Beech and Anne Osbalderton, were hanged after the 1656 Michelmas Assizes at Chester for practising "certain arts from which wicked and devilish acts certain people of Rainow fell ill and died"."

  • This is a beautiful spacious cottage. We found everything we needed for our stay with a well equipped kitchen for cooking, comfy beds and clean relaxing bathrooms. We stayed with 2 children under 4 years so you need to be aware of the busy road, keeping the door closed is important as front door is only 1m from the road. Beautiful area with lovely walking tracks and pub very close by. This house would easily be comfortable for 2 families or extended family stays. Michael was reliable and easy to deal with, I would highly recommend this listing.

Fantastic Barn conversion tucked away right in the center of Bollington Village. At the foot of the picturesque peak district, this Air BnB is perfect for walkers & cyclists alike. Fantastic modern interior with large AGA. Double bedroom with wet room.
The barn is a little gem tucked away behind the main street away from the traffic and the village life. Its a fab little one up and one down. Mind the stairs as the ceiling is low at the bottom of the stairs and you can quite easily bang your head if your not careful! The velux windows in the vaulted ceiling in the bedroom have fitted blinds and there is a pole to help close them so you wont have to stare at the stars all night.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Eva’s cottage. The location was great for our visit and the place was thoughtfully decorated and had everything we needed. It was super clean and very comfortable. It was lovely and warm when we arrived and very welcoming with soft lighting on and we immediately felt relaxed. We enjoyed relaxing in the evening watching a film or two and we made good use of the lovely kitchen facilities. We had a great breakfast just a few seconds walk away from the property on the Green and found that there are also a few places to eat an evening meal within walking distance. Can’t fault the property. Thanks for a lovely stay xx

  • Prior to my stay Eloisa was fast replying, accurate and reliable. The house was lovely and homely. Also the room was perfect and exactly what the description says. The location was perfect for me also. I would recommend.

    Rhiannon2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • I spent 3 weeks at Eloisa’s place and the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about this experience is “HOME”! Yes, “HOME”, because Eloisa is a very welcoming and warm person who makes you feel at easy and home all the time. She loved to interact with me and I loved too. However, she was also respecting my space, giving me the freedom I needed, without being intrusive. When I needed something, ANYTHING, she was there, even before asking! Moreover, she is extremely helpful for reasons that are not money-driven. She is simply an amazing person!!! I had some difficulties during my stay at her place, but she was supportive in all ways possible. Of course, not to mention, a 5 STAR + host. First of all, in our correspondence (before and during my stay), she was always fast in reply, accurate and reliable. The description of her room/house is very true and I swear it, you can expect much more than what is indicated on the website. Her house is impeccably cleaned and extremely cosy. The bedroom is very nice and the king bed simply divine! Eloisa’s house is not far from the city centre and Macclesfield train station (7-10 min max walking). Bus stops are also nearby, as well as supermarkets. Eloisa is an extremely precise, reliable and professional person. Above all, she is kind, respectful and honest. To sum up in a sentence: I have not find simply a 5 STAR + host, but a friend! And, with this, I do not need to add anything else about Eloisa and my stay at her place. Not convinced yet? Try it and you will not regret it, I am sure!

    Erminia2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Eloisa is such an amazing lady. We have never felt so welcome. Her house is simply beautiful and the location is perfect. We cannot wait to book in again! Thank you Eloisa

  • Cannot recommend this bnb high enough. Jane and family were so welcoming and we felt at home straight away. The room was lovely and so comfortable. The village itself was fun and friendly. We will definitely be coming back to visit.

  • Jane was hospitable without being over the top, her house as a whole is fabulous. But the tranquil space in the top room for her guests hits the spot perfectly. Well thought out and beautifully built and finished by her husband who is a cabinet maker and you can tell it was a labour of love. It’s in the heart of Bollington and we took Janes advice on food and ate at Tapa and drank in several of the towns fabulous pubs, of which the prize for me was The Vale the home of Bollington brewery. A great overnight stay and a fabulous hosts

  • Fantastic hosts!!!!! I would give 15 out of 5 stars. Lovely home, lovely people and made to feel so welcome. Very well organised. Nice touches. Good breakfast selection. You will want to move in permanently. If 5ft 10 or taller the shower height may be an issue but the rest outweighs that minus. They are super quiet around the house. Slept really well and felt like a queen in the gorgeous bed clothes and chunky duvet. I was there four nights to attend and perform a wedding. Tasmin helped me a great deal and I feel truly blessed to have chosen this airbnb. She’s kind, generous, smart and good fun. Azer also a sweetie and offered to give me a lift to Manchester when he was going as I had no car with me. 20 minutes walk to train station n less to local coop store n Indian restaurant/takeaway. Bramhall is a lovely leafy upmarket area. Do visit Bramall Hall and park. The most tudor building I have ever seen.

    Marta2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Firstly it was honestly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Aziz and Tasmin were excellent hosts, they made sure I had everything I needed and more, they even arranged a space for me to leave my bike in the garage. A big plus was that with my own key and thing I was completely free to come and go as needed. They have a lovely house and Bramhall town is very charming with good connections and some lovely places to eat. Excellent stay for a great price, would definitely reccomend it.

    Christian2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts very friendly and a clean home. Plenty of tea / coffee and cold water provided. Everything you could want and need provided.

You will be delighted with our chic and modern one bedroom apartment with its own terrace and enchanted garden. Set within a quiet area in Wilmslow, our apartment is perfect for business travelers, couples and small families. We have a dedicated parking space, as well as free WiFi. Wilmslow town centre with all its stylish lively bars and elegant restaurants is a mere 20 minutes' walk through a lovely housing estate. Additionally, a Lidl, Tesco, chippy and pub are located a stone's throw away.
Our Cheshire Garden Apartment comprises a modern, newly refurbished one bedroom apartment located on the ground floor. Our apartment is a real home from home and is equipped with everything you might need during your stay. We have summarised the property's amenities as follows: • Free wireless broadband • Dedicated off-road parking space to the rear of the property • New fully fitted kitchen including supplies of tea, coffee, sugar, oil, spread, jams or marmalade, cornflakes, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, plus a few other items. • Fresh linen and towels are provided including bathroom soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner • Flat screen smart TV with Netflix • Hair-dryer • Iron & ironing board • Cafeteria • Washing machine & washing pods • Various books including cook books & pens and a pad Given that the property is located on the ground floor it is suitable for disabled people. We can provide a travel cot for your little one, if prior notice is given. Hire of the cot is £20 per stay, which includes bedding and towel.
Our apartment is uniquely located 10 minutes' drive from Manchester Airport, 20 minutes from Manchester city centre and about half an hour from the Peak District. Wilmslow town centre and railway station can be reached within 20 minutes by foot. The walk takes you through a lovely affluent housing estate and along the edge of Wilmslow Park. There are lots of fabulous restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs in Wilmlsow town centre. Our favourite pub where we can be found on most Friday and Saturday evenings is the Unicorn pub on Adlington Road (about 20 minutes by foot) - it's a great no-nonsense gastro pub with a menu of traditional British dishes and a family-friendly vibe. It has a great beer garden to the rear and Noah is a huge fan of their fish fingers, chips and beans. Another insider tip is The Cheshire Butcher and Farm shop on Lees Lane (5 minute drive). We get most of our fresh meat and produce from them and they never disappoint - a real gem! We highly recommend the homemade pies. Wilmslow Garden Centre is also a must during your stay (located on Manchester Road, within 5 minutes' drive). It is widely considered to be the best garden centre in Cheshire and has a great restaurant. If you are interested in discovering the area's history, we would recommend paying Quarry Bank Mill a visit. The mill is one of the best preserved cotton mills on the Industrial Revolution and allows visitors to understand the hardships faced by the workers who toiled in the mill, and uncover engineering genius at work. I visited for the first time on a school trip in 1995 and have returned many times since.
  • Unfortunately we had to cancel last minute, but Matthew was brilliant to deal with and it was all organised very quickly and easily.

    Karen2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew was very easy to communicate with and was super accommodating for our stay . The flat is on the ground floor of a small 2 storey block of 8 flats and is well located for Wilmslow and Alderley Edge and the airport. We found the bed to be comfy and the kitchen equipped with everything for a stay. Thanks!

Beautiful flat in epicentral Prestbury, one of the most picturesque villages in Cheshire. There are a great range of restaurants, bars and country pubs within less than two minutes walk from the flat. The flat has a good sized open plan lounge / kitchen with solid wooden flooring, solid Oak work surfaces, modern decor, and plentiful natural light. Ample parking is available outside or over the road from the flat. If you prefer the train, the station is 5 mins walk.
Hi, our guests say it's a cosy, simple, appealing flat, and it's about 100 metres from the center of the village. It has always appealed as a perfect escape from city life.
The village is generally dominated by more mature but active people. There are no discos, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants "on your doorstep" (to be precise, within around 100 metres). There is a good coop to keep you stocked up.

In addition to the Silk museum and next door Charles Roe House where daily tours are available, there are many excellent cafes and restaurants in the vicinity, a cinema (Cinemac org uk), monthly treacle market (treaclemarket co uk) and other local attractions to consider (visitmacclesfield co uk). As a gateway to the Peak District and Cheshire Plains, Macclesfield has breathtaking countryside, parks, rivers, canals, reservoirs and woodland all on its doorstep.
  • Lovely place to stay recommended to everyone.

  • This place is HUGE! Warm, clean, easy to find, very central, gigantic bed, modern bathroom and kitchen and a fantastic price. My house wasn’t big enough to invite my 2 pregnant couple friends round to eat , nor did I want the hassle of cleaning my own house before hand. as such, this place was perfect. Will stay again without doubt.

    Charlotte2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Central location with parking. A great space to spend time with everything you need - the adult kids particularly enjoyed the pool table. Beware the central position means there is noise from outside; both traffic noise and Domino's deliveries.

  • Excellent apartment! Great value :)

    Reece2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Clean warm and comfortable. Spacious and a great place to hang out and have some fun. Located above dominoes so the smell won us over for late night pizza. No hesitation recommending.

  • Really beautiful apartment in the heart of Macclesfield. Comfortable beds and all the amenities you’d expect.

  • It was really wonderful, the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Homely stay. Greatly recommended to stay here if in the area.

  • Yvonne and Nige are friendly and professional hosts with a beautiful home. If you’re not familiar with the area, Poynton doesn’t disappoint. Local amenities are modern and plentiful. Manchester is 15 mins by train. The room is a spacious and private ensuite loft conversion - recommended to all.

    Kit2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • When you stay with a Superhost, you expect all the personal touches because they have seen everything before and problems have been solved before you turn up. Nige and Yvonne meet the description of Super-hosts. They are so welcoming and friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We needed a stay in the centre of a Poynton and this house is exactly that. There is parking in the driveway ((Nige leaves a wheelie bin on the path outside as house numbers are difficult to see in the dark). On arrival, Daisy the Labrador helps with the greeting, she’s not jumpy since she quite an old lady at 12. We love dogs, so it was lovely to be around such a friendly animal. Drinks were offered and accepted and we sat in the living room to talk before being shown to our room at the top of the house. (Note: take some slippers with you as the stairs are polished wood and can be a little slippery when you are weighed down with luggage). The bedroom is lovely with a large comfy bed (plenty of pillows), the ceiling slopes at the ends as this is an attic room with 2 Velux windows (with manual blinds, there is a tv and free Wi-Fi, good lighting and a long mirror on the back of the door. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Breakfast is cereal, fruit, toast, tea and coffee and is taken in the kitchen at the breakfast snug. The house is only 10 mins from Manchester Airport now a new road has been built and something to be considered rather than staying in an impersonal chain hotel. On a little personal note, we would like to thank Nige for giving us a lift to our Xmas party - it was only a 5 minute walk but we were dressed in our finest and since it was raining a little, we were very grateful for this little touch of kindness 😊

    Neil2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely welcoming couple - Nige and Yvonne certainly are superhosts. Comfortable bed and lovely and clean - definately recommend.

Stunning views over the Cheshire plain. The bedroom and bathroom on the lower level. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, and Nespresso coffee maker (pods supplied). There is comfortable seating in the lounge area, a round dining table and four chairs for relaxed dining. Colour TV, DVD player, and a wood burning stove. On the lower level is a double bed, wardrobe space and a bed settee can be converted to a bed.
I am working to be environmentally friendly in all I do and encourage your active participation by reducing and Recycling: Food-waste (not meat or fish) can be composted and there is a bin by the side of the ramp, use the paper sacks provided. The grey Council bins across from the car park are for mixed recycling (glass, plastic, cardboard, aluminum foil, cans, and tins). The black bins are for waste that can’t be recycled (plastic bags, plastic wrapping, sweet wrappers, black plastic, dog waste bags, etc.) There are multiple use shopping bags in the apartments. Please leave newspapers in the apartment as we use in compost. On sunny days please air-dry washed clothes on the clothesline (pegs in the washroom cupboard). No smoking is permitted in or around the properties.
FARM I am converting this old subsistence hill farm of 4- hectares (10- acres) into a wildlife area, and it adjoins the 81- hectares (200- acres) Tegg’s Nose Country Park, so we act as a wildlife source for the Park. The general area has much monoculture grass, grown for silage so devoid of wildlife. In the field across from the apartments we are creating a wildlife meadow that will be the larger and highest in the Peak area. The UK has lost 97% of its wildlife meadows in 100 -years. The 18- metre by 14- metre nature pond created in the farm garden also the largest pond at this elevation in the area. You can see the pond dipping results below, it was –very challenging on a hill – so we added swales to keep water longer on the land and form a different nature habitat. There is an orchard in the lowest field plums apples and nuts. The wind is a challenge and we use a willow windbreak. The single oak there is at least 250 -years old. All of the (seven species) hedges have been planted, and with dry stone walling replacing the barbed wire. This walling also provides habitat. A kestrel is often seen hunting over the top hedge. We manage the land using non-certified vegan organic permaculture: this is no chemical, “no- dig” using old straw mulches on top of cardboard, and we produce compost on a grand scales so your box helps. The garden is being converted to a Forest Garden which means a combination of plants and trees to provide food.
  • I stayed in Jan's place for 2.5 weeks and loved it. What a beautiful place to stay. Peaceful and quiet, with amazing views, yet very close to Macclesfield. The fireplace is cosy, it's fully equipped and actually felt very luxurious. There are some friendly chickens just to add to the atmosphere. Lovely walks on your doorstep. I'd highly recommend it.

  • Cosy apartment with lovely views over the Cheshire plain.Had everything we needed. Great walks with stunning views right from the doorstep.

    Christine2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jan’s place is an incredible spot, with amazing views and Teggs Nose Country Park only a stile away. There is easy parking with fanstastic facilities. The cottage was so cosy and full of character with everything you could need. After a day on the hills it was bliss to come back to the cosy log fire and snuggle in for the evening. Pure bliss and I can’t wait to come back!

  • Lovely barn conversion situated 900 feet above the Cheshire plain, in a small cluster of other buildings. Great for hillside walks, and feels very remote, but only 5 minutes drive to the edge of Macclesfield.

  • Azer and Tasmin's home is exactly as described, if not better in real life. Their home is spacious, clean and the hosts themselves are fabulous and kind. The whole process and communication from the outset was smooth and easy right through to checkout. Azer and Tasmin obviously take Airbnb seriously and it shows in their hosting and all the extra touches and comforts they provide. But more than that, they are warm people and this makes for standout hosting and I would love to come back. Thank you guys and hope to seeyou soon :)

A warm, cosy terraced three storey house on a quiet back street close to Macclesfield Town Centre and South Park
My house is on a quiet street close to the town centre and South park. We are ideally located for journeys into the Manchester, with it taking an hour by car or twenty minutes on the train which is a ten minute walk away. Macclesfield also offers some stunning walking and cycling paths, with the forest, canal and Middlewood way all close by. I have a dog so guests need to be dog friendly, but he's very friendly. I also work from home so spend most of the day in and out. The house is three storey, with the ground floor offering the lounge and kitchen. The first floor is where the guest bedroom is as well as the shared bathroom. The top floor is where my bedroom is located. There is internet available in the house, and the only TV (freeview) is located in the spare room for your personal use. I am out most evenings, and in and out throughout the day. Although privacy is no an issue as I will mainly be on the top floor if I am in in the evening. There is tea and coffee next to the kettle for you to use. My house is great for individuals or couples.
Located on a quiet street with the park and town centre all within five minutes walk. Futher afield, you can discover the stunning scenery around, including Macclesfield forest and the canal.

This is a modern conversion of an extension to our house which used to be a bakery. It is a compact self contained one bedroom ground floor apartment with its own entrance, small double bedroom with en suite shower room and lounge with sofa bed and kitchenette. The apartment is self catering but we welcome you with food and drink essentials. Well behaved animals may stay too. Good for walkers, cyclists, anglers or romantics, but everyone is welcome to rest and rise at the Old Bakery.
Rest and Rise is a no smoking property that can sleep up to four people. There is one small separate bedroom with a double bed, and a very comfortable sofa bed in the the lounge area. We are on the edge of Lyme Park and next to the Middlewood Way, on the doorstep of stunning countryside. Our house is next to the Macclesfield canal where many anglers enjoy successful fishing. Walkers and bikers would find plenty to do, as would those interested in local history. The apartment has space to park one car next to ours at the front of the house, and is accessed by its own separate front door, within a small private courtyard found at the side of our house. Smoking is not permitted in any part of the house, garden or frontage. We live in the main house attached so will be on hand if you need anything. Your welcome pack will include bread, milk, wine and home-made preserves, and staples such as tea, coffee and sugar are always left in the kitchen. We do not make you breakfast - the apartment is self catering - but if you don't fancy cooking for yourselves there are plenty of restaurants and takeaways in the area. Usual check in is after 3pm and check out is before 12 noon, but we may be able to accommodate a different time by prior arrangement. The walls of the apartment are hung with original artwork by me, Kate, your host. I am always ready to talk about my art with interested people and am happy to give you a tour of my studio upstairs, which has one of the best views in Cheshire. Please note that, while we ourselves have spent a couple of weeks sleeping on the sofa bed in the past and found it perfectly comfortable, one guest has found it to be a bit small for his teenage children to share. The apartment is compact and perfect for two, although three or four can stay if they know each other really well! Please note that there's no space in the bedroom to put up a travel cot, however there is in the adjoining hallway.
We are on the Cheshire Derbyshire border so the Peak District national park is within easy distance. You can walk straight into Lyme Park from our front door, it's just less than two miles of footpaths between us and Mr Darcy's main residence. Manchester international airport is 10 miles away so less than 20 minutes drive, or an inexpensive taxi. Poynton has good rail links to London, Manchester and beyond. Poynton itself contains supermarkets, independent shops and many restaurants and takeaways. It's about a five minute drive down the hill to Park Lane where the shops are. We are happy to advise if you need any pointers about where best to eat or shop. Within the centre of Poynton we have both a Waitrose and an Aldi, so everyone's happy. There is plenty of local history to discover, along with some pleasant country pubs. We live right beside the Macclesfield Canal which is good for anglers, walkers and cyclists alike. The Middlewood Way is just at the end of the road.
  • Beautiful, lovely and warm people and same goes for the house. From the furniture to the decor to the art on the walls; everything was immensely charming and inviting. Unlike some places which can feel sterile and impersonal, you really get a sense that someone has welcomed you into their home and is sharing a little bit of their life and their world with you. A little twinkling, ornamented Christmas tree, fresh milk in the fridge, homemade orange and lemon jam laid out on the kitchen counter; little touches like these really show how much thought and care Kate puts into making sure you'll feel at home and comfortable. 11/10 Would definitely visit again

  • Kate is an artist and the accommodation is a nice canvas for her work. See if you can spot the painting that matches the cushion print. The bed was comfortable & the ensuite a nice size. There were lots of lovely touches around to make us feel comfortable: Warm home made bread and home made jam and marmalade with real butter. A bottle of prosecco with fresh strawberries Lots of different coffees and teas and a bottle of milk. The heating is independently controlled Comfy furniture The accommodation is situated in a quiet spot right n the canal and less than £5 taxi ride from the fabulous town of Poynton.

    Clive2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and quiet location, right by the canal but a short car ride to Poynton for food and shops. Cosy and warm despite the cold autumn nights when we stayed. Fresh bread and strawberries when we arrived that went well with the homemade jam and marmalade. Highly recommended
