One of the first things potential guests want to know about a place is how big it is. By specifying the number of guests you can accommodate and the number of beds, bedrooms, and bathrooms available, you can help people decide whether your space will work for them.

You’ll be able to go into even greater detail after you publish your listing, including sharing the types of beds and the amenities each bedroom has, like hangers and extra pillows. For now, you can focus on how many guests you’d like to welcome in your space.

If you’re not sure, try these tips:

  • Count the number of beds you have. Consider how many people can comfortably sleep in each one.
  • Count the number of bathrooms you have. Consider how many people can comfortably share those spaces.
  • Set a guest maximum you feel good about. Just because your place can sleep a certain number of people doesn’t mean you have to accommodate that many guests.
  • Try not to surprise guests. If your bed count includes couches, futons, air mattresses, or other casual sleeping arrangements, be sure to call this out in upcoming steps, like when you add your listing description or photo captions. Noting if you have a crib or bunk beds with rails can be helpful too.
  • Don’t make assumptions. For example, two people traveling together may not plan to share a bed.

When you’re ready, use the plus and minus buttons to set your guest maximum and to note how many beds, bedrooms, and bathrooms are available. The bathroom counter allows for half-bathrooms (which have a toilet and sink but no shower or tub).

Remember, you can make changes to your info, including the number of beds and guests allowed, at any time if your situation or needs change.
