Balquisse, sits on a cliff between Avalon and Bilgola Beaches and is close to Sydney's best beaches (Newport, Bilgola,Avalon, Whale and Palm Beach). It is also within easy reach of shops, cafes, fishing, sailing, surfing & bushwalking. You’ll love the stunning 180 degree views out to the ocean, across to the still waters of Pittwater and a vista that stretches hundreds of kilometres up the north coast. It also has a plunge pool, chef's kitchen and is blissfully quiet. Our home, which is blessed with sun and light all year, is furnished eclectically with much loved items collected over the years, together with cherished items from our travels. There are a number of seating areas (lounge, family room, indoor courtyard, decks, garden and by the plunge pool) for peace and privacy. The chef's kitchen is equipped with everything the discerning chef might need, including European appliances. You will also have the use of our linen tableware, beautiful crystal, dinner and silverware. We have filtered water on tap, instantaneous boiling water, a Nespresso coffee machine, gas fireplace and gas heating for those chilly winter months. We also have air conditioning in the living areas and the main bedroom. We also supply free fast, unlimited Internet, while on our 'smart' TV you will have access to Netflix. There is also a Bluetooth sound system and hundreds of books at your disposal. Set above the natural bush of Angophora Reserve you can watch the native birdlife in the mornings and afternoons: cockatoos, rainbow lorikeets, king parrots, hawks and many other birds will glide past or sail high above. In the afternoons you will be visited by our local cockatoo friends. You might also meet our shy baby bush turkey. The cliff we live on is whisper quiet - this is one of its many beauties - and we would ask that you respect the quiet by not having parties or playing loud music that would disturb our neighbours. Please understand that the house does not suit small children who would not be safe with an open staircase, garden pond and open balcony over a cliff. You will have access to three bedrooms, lounge, dining, kitchen, family room, study, three bathrooms, laundry, internal courtyard, garden and plunge pool. We supply fluffy white towels, an excellent choice of hotel quality pillows, crisp white sheets, comfortable beds, environmentally friendly shampoo and body wash without Parabens and SLS and laundry and cleaning products. You will have the use of our general kitchen products - various coffees, about 40 different types of tea and the usual salt, pepper, olive oil, vinegars, cooking oils, flours, sugars, sauces etc. We ask that you do not have people staying in excess of the number you booked. If you are thinking of having more people to stay please contact us immediately. We will greet you and introduce you to the house. You will also be able to contact us by email and phone if you have any questions. We also have a local contact person who can help with any issues that may arise if we are away. The area is leafy, quiet, and safe with a bush walking track directly below the escarpment the house sits on. Cafe's and local shops are within walking distance, while Avalon and Newport villages and beaches are a few minutes away. You'll love the feeling of being far from the hustle and bustle of city life while only minutes away from the finer things in life: beaches, sailing, bush walking and some of the best cafes and restaurants in Sydney. We can give you tips for casual or fine dining. We are close to the bus route to the city and to Manly, although we strongly recommend a car. You can walk down to Avalon Beach, Bilgola Beach (voted the most romantic beach in Australia) and Newport Beach and swim in the surf, or in one of our iconic ocean pools. The villages, with their shops, cafes, cinema and restaurants, are also within easy walking distance, however, you have to walk uphill to get home. It's a beautiful walk, but only you can decide how much exercise you want. We welcome you to our home and hope that it gives you the peace it has always offered us. The three most important issues for us are: 1. you look after our home as you would want yours looked after 2. respect the quiet of the ridge and do not disturb our neighbours 3. If you are staying five days or more we ask that you water the plants in the house and the courtyard. It is important to us that you are willing to this. It is not a difficult task, but they are plants and they do need water to survive. Of course, the garden looks after itself. Hope you understand.

Luxurious Penthouse Room in Manly with Water Views

My Husband (Darryl) and I have just finished our renovations on our penthouse apartment here in Manly. We love it and we hope you will love it too! We have great views over Sydney Harbour and Manly beach that you can gaze at for hours when you're not exploring the local area. Manly is considered one of Sydney's best day trips. While we agree, we also believe it gets better when all the day trippers go home for the day! It is worth staying a while with a choice of surf and harbour beaches only a short walk away, with access to some unique nature trails and great restaurants, bars and shops at your doorstep. But more about where you will stay at our place. You will have your own room and exclusive use of your own bathroom which have both been newly renovated. The bathroom includes a deep slipper bath for a soak after that day at the beach or a large shower for the more upwardly mobile. Step out to the balcony with a glass of wine and watch the comings and goings of the sail boats, cruise liners and iconic Manly Ferry across the harbour. You have access to all amenities, kitchen, washing machine, dryer, BBQ and even a clothesline on the roof which is one floor above. The apartment is serviced with WiFi and with Espresso coffee machine & tea making facilities. With plenty of space and a wrap around balcony it means you will have the opportunity to either keep to yourself or join in with us when we are home. The kitchen, lounge and dining has been newly renovated and have all the latest appliances installed. We both work during the day but are around to help with local advice on Manly, its surroundings and with assistance on getting around Sydney. We love to travel also, so are keen to hear your travel stories, where you have been and where you're going! Manly is a vibrant village surrounded by many exciting water activities - such as Scuba Diving, Para-sailing, Swimming with the Sharks, Surfing, Kayaking, Whale Watching, Yachting, Snorkling, Fishing, etc. However, most tend to simply laze on Manly Beach and enjoy the many nearby restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, stalls and fairs that regularly take place here. Manly is not only bless with one of the best beaches in the world but is also surrounded by National Parks. So in and around Manly is an abundance of bush walking paths, most with gorgeous ocean views. Our favourite walk is the "Manly to Spit Bridge" walk primarily as it begins directly opposite our building and because of its display of flowering native plants and associated ocean scenery. So you are invited to stay with us in our home by the sea and we look forward to meeting you soon. Cheryl Private bedroom and bathroom. Amount of inter-action largely depends upon the wants and needs of our guests, from minimal to like being at home again with friends. The home is in a residential coastal area at the entrance to Sydney's famous Northern Beaches. Popular with tourists and locals who enjoy water activities, shopping, bars, restaurants. It's a quick commute to the city on the famous Manly Ferry. The ferries, buses and taxis are available virtually at your door step, providing access to all of the interest spots around Manly and Sydney's main tourist places. But the best way to experience Manly is on foot, its the cheapest and best value.

The apartment is up on a hill in a residential area, slightly removed from the village centre and nightlife sounds. The famous Manly surf beach or still water Shelly Beach are within walking distance. Buses travel constantly up and down nearby Sydney and Pittwater Roads to all surrounding areas and the city. Manly Wharf is in walking distance to catch a boat into the city. I walk from the apartment to everywhere in Manly. If you need a car there is an off street space for a small to medium size car secured behind a gate. For a larger or 2nd car there is a resident parking permit for free unrestricted street parking. For those who find walking up a hill to the apartment from Manly difficult there are frequent bus services which stop on the flat nearby and a taxi rank at the bottom or the hill which cost about $7. Manly Council provides a free ‘hop, skip & jump’ bus every 30 mins from morning to early evening, which stops near or in the street - depending which route you take. There is room for surfboards and outside shower is a great way to rinse off after the beach. The dryer is located under the house near clothes line. Washing machine is in the kitchen. The apartment is on the ground floor of a two apartment duplex. Access to the house for those with a disability has one small step up to the front verandah and another small step up once inside the entry hall. There are another two steps inside the house from the kitchen up to slightly elevated dining/sun room. Manly is a fabulous lively city village. The apartment is up on a hill in a residential area, slightly removed from the village centre. The famous Manly surf beach or still water Shelly Beach are within walking distance.

Fairlight Maison

Beautifully decorated and is equipped with everything you'd need for a home away from home stay. There are two bedrooms with queen size beds. Separate living room with a cosy fireplace and dinning room for 6 people. A charming study with a small daybed, a desk and printer. Well equipped kitchen good enough for any chefs. Sunny balcony off the master bedroom to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. A plunge pool with sunbed in the rear courtyard garden for soaking up the sun or alfresco entertaining & relaxation. We provide luxurious bedding linen, Egyptian Cotton bath towels, high end bathroom amenities including a hairdryer. Unfortunately we do not provide beach towels and we don't have a BBQ. There is a Nespresso Coffee machine in the kitchen and we provide a few coffee pods to get you started but you will have to purchase the additional pods at our local supermarket, Coles. Instant coffee and a small selection of tea are there for you to use of course. Guests will have access to the entire house by themselves. Guests will have full privacy. The house is conveniently located within a 10-20 minute walk of the famous Manly Beach precinct, home to a multitude of trendy cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. In addition, there's easy access to outdoor activities, such as bushwalking and surfing. If you don't want to do the 10-20mins walk to Manly, there is a local free bus shuttle (Hop Skip & Jump Bus) that takes you to directly to Manly Beach and Manly ferry. The bus stops right across the street in front of the house and comes around every 30mins. To go into the city there is also a public bus stop just around the corner but we suggest you take the scenic ferry ride across the Harbour into Sydney and you'll be in the heart of Sydney's tourist attractions. If you have a car you can park on the street in front of the house. There is always plenty of parking available. Fairlight La Maison is a terrace house on 3 levels so there are steep narrow stairs which might not be suitable for young children not used to stairs and elderly people. We have a gas fireplace. There is a Nespresso machine but only a sample of pods will be provided to get you started. If you would like use the Nespresso Coffee machine then you will need to buy extra coffee pods at the local supermarket. We don't have a BBQ. You will also need to bring your own beach towels as we do not provide beach towels at the house. We don't own a cat but our neighbours do. Nero is the black cat and Oscar is the grey marble cat. They are super friendly cats and often wander into the house if the doors and windows are left open. If you are allergic to cats we suggest you don't allow them in the house.

There are also two bathrooms, an open plan kitchen lounge area that leads onto a deck and a comfortable outdoor covered seating area. In the garden there is a BBQ and wood fire pizza oven. There are kayaks, a paddle board and windsurfer for you to use not forgetting a couple of bikes to get around on. Beautiful beach, safe calm water for the children to swim in, great walks, a multitude of native birds, wallabies, monitor lizards and more. Guests are left to their own devices from the moment they arrive but plenty of help is at hand should need be. Set in the picturesque suburb of Great Mackeral Beach, the home is surrounded by Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and 20 miles north of Sydney. Once you arrive at Palm Beach, just hop on the ferry or a water taxi and Mackerel is only a 10-30 minute boat ride away. Hiking trails, the beach, and lots of wildlife surround you. It is an easy drive from Sydney to Palm Beach and only an hour from the CBD. Alternatively buses (L90) go from the city to Palm Beach and take 90 minutes. There are no cars at Mackerel and the only access is by water. There are no shops at Mackerel so you need to bring everything you need for your stay. There is a good stock of the basics in the kitchen that is there for your convenience.
