A romantic, festive and trendy district, the charm of the Marais lies in its cobblestone streets, historic spots and quirky boutiques. Straddling the Paris Centre arrondissement, this district with a village feel was built on marshland (‘marais’ in French), hence its name. Parisians and visitors alike love to come here for a leisurely stroll, as it is a great place to spend time and/or go shopping. This district is known for its modern art galleries, restaurants, architecture, etc.

Le Marais is a fairly small neighbourhood in Paris. However, it has an impressive selection of cafés, bars, and boutiques sprawled across little alleys that are tucked away from busy Parisian streets. If you’re in the area, you should grab a falafel at L’As du Fallafel or other Middle Eastern eateries there. The Passage de l’Ancre is a hidden gem worth exploring. It’s an old cobbled passageway where people used to hide during WWII. You’ll find some quaint shops and eateries in the area, including Pep’s, which is the oldest umbrella repair shop in Paris. The neighbourhood also has a wide array of museums, such as Musee National Picasso-Paris and Maison Europeene de la Photographie

Very trendy ‘Parisienne’ neighborhood with stylish cafes, restaurants and bars and also lots of shopping. Must see the ‘Marche des Enfants Rouge’ the oldest covered market in Paris with all the great food to try for lunch.

Historical Parisian neighborhood, perfect for a sunday stroll since no cars are allowed. Famous attraction : L'As du fallalel, Miznon (absolutely adore), Place des Vosges.

Le marais is famous to be the gay county of the city. Lots of culture and bars and clubs. It’s a really nice walking neighborhood, through rue des archives, rue de la verrerie and so on. A lot of great shops, design clothes , accessories through rue sainte croix de la Bretonnerie
