Lillevik is a comfortable, cozy and completely remodelled vacation home in a fantastic location on Gimsøy in the Lofoten islands – in the arctic. Lillevik is the perfect base for exploring the Lofoten islands – it is quiet, but central: Gimsøy is «in the middle» of Lofoten, between local towns Svolvær and Leknes, with most sights and activities just a short drive away. Gimsøy is an island, connected to the main road E10 runs with two bridges. Gimsøya has superb conditions for watching the northern lights and the midnight sun: There is open sea towards north, and nothing to block the view – and no light pollution. Lillevik's large panorama windows give a great view of the northern lights and the midnight sun – and also sea eagles, seals, otter, porpoises (dolphins), foxes, owls and maybe a weasel. Even Lofoten locals travel to Gimsøy to get the best conditions and avoid the crowds in the high season. At Lillevik you can experience this right where you live. Gimsøy, and especially this part, is exceptionally quiet, even for Lofoten. Less than 200 people live at Gimsøy, and a large part of the island is a nature reserve. There are hardly any cars driving on the road past the house – no need to worry about traffic. The house’s plot is 92,000 square meters (23 acres), and the private beach is just 100 meters (109 yards) from the house. Everything you need is nearby: Local towns Henningsvær, Svolvær and Leknes are a 30-40 minute drive away. It's 7 kilometers (4 miles) to Gimsøy Landhandel with groceries, café and gas station, 1.5 km to the long, white sandy beach at Hov. Unstad (50 min), Uttakleiv (1h15), Nusfjord (1h15) and Reine (1h50) is within easy driving distance. It's a 30 minute hike up to the summit of the mountain Hoven (368 m) with an impressive 360° view. The house was built in the 1960’s and has gone through an extensive two-year remodelling in 2018-2020. In practice, the house has been completely rebuilt. The original atmosphere is preserved, updated to modern standards. The kitchen is fully equipped with top of the line appliances, the bathrooms are modern and comfortable, and all beds are of good quality. Please see the reviews to see why Lillevik is so popular. The Lofoten islands cover a large area, and exploring Lofoten does requires some local traveling. The cabin has a fantastic location in the middle of Lofoten. It is 15 minutes from Leknes. Quick access to the airport, shopping center, groceries, restaurants, gas station and charging station. The cabin is located 15 minutes from Stamsund if you come by Hurtigruta. Henningsvær and Svolvær are less than an hour's drive away. To the Lofoten Links golf course about 25 min. At the cabin you will find fantastic hiking trails and popular mountain tours. Direct access to spectacular nature. The view from the cabin is outstanding, mountains and the ocean on all sides.

I tillegg har det en fantastisk beliggenhet, med utsikt mot fjell, strand og hav. Huset ligger familievennlig til, med stor inn-gjerdet tomt. Huset er 117 kvadratmeter stort, med store oppholdsrom til både familier og venner som reiser sammen på tur. Det hvite, velkjente stranda på Haukland ligger ca 700 meter nedenfor huset.

Cozy house in the Lofoten with lovely views and everything on one level! Hiking opportunities right outside the door! You can walk on the shoreline or in the mountains right from the house. The house is located “right in the middle” of Lofoten, about 45 minutes to Svolvær and about 35 minutes to Leknes. Great location if you want to explore the Lofoten Islands. The road outside is not a main road so little traffic. Can climb mountains and swim in the sea on the property.
