“Steve is hands down one of the most wonderful hosts I've ever had on Airbnb, and this cabin is one of my absolute favorite experiences. I came to stay in Fair Play to be close to my family during the COVID madness, and Steve could not have been kinder or more accommodating - seriously, I plan to come visit them as friends when I leave here! The cabin is so cozy and charming, filled with antiques and comfy furniture, a fully decked out kitchen with everything you could possibly need (they are big on dinner parties and cooking themselves, hence all the amenities). And the property is just beautiful - so much picnic and lounging space, a well kept garden, with a big hill in back that you can hike up to see the sunset. You're surrounded by wineries and hills covered with grapes, and beautiful hikes and the Consumnes river for swimming are just a short drive away. I've felt truly at home here and forever touched by the kindness Steve and Erwin have shown me in this crazy time. They are very respectful of your privacy, but always super responsive and caring - and of course, happy to share a glass of wine and swap life stories. I will be back! Highly recommend!”

“This is a wonderful getaway from the city and people. The area around the house is peaceful, warm, and quite private. Really great place to enjoy nature and relax. Hammocking spots all over, lots of bird watching, and you get a magnificent view of the sunset every evening. This place is for anyone who wants to get out into nature, away from the city, or even ones who want to experience a tiny house in a forest. The hosts were wonderful, and they had special little treats for us when we arrived (brochures and cards for local attractions and vineyards, a bottle of wine, farm fresh eggs, and everything you need to cook and eat in the kitchen. They had bug spray and sun screen as well which was great since we forgot to pack some before coming. The water feels amazing and is really nice and hot too which can sometimes be hard to find in a forest house. Definitely a place to visit!”
Set in nature so you can get away, but still be close enough to the shops in town. This simply decorated home will lift your spirits. Enjoy downtown Main Street (8 miles), historic gold country parks and attractions, the nearby wine country, Apple Hill, white water rafting, Discovery park, world-class hiking, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Also, close to Amador County's Shenandoah wine country.
“When you pull into Teresa’s place, you see a little slice of heaven. Remote but not so far out of town. Really no neighbors close by. So you get that feeling of being in a place of solitude. Teresa is an amazing host. She is quick to answer any questions that you might have. And she makes you feel at home right away. Her property has a beautiful garden that she’s worked very hard on. And she was kind enough to give us a little tour of what she was growing. There’s a beautiful pool that you can use also! If you like animals there’s the resident kitties, some pigs, and the wonderful chickens! Farm fresh eggs are yours for the asking! How can I get any better than that? The barn it’s self is designed very very well. Feels like home soon as you get in! We love staying here!”
