A quiet space in the heart of Del Mar, with your own private patio facing the morning sunrise, in the afternoon shade. A few minutes walk to restaurants, the beach and the fairgrounds. A rustic path leads from your door to your own parking area, myriad secret trails also weave through the neighborhood.
“This is a very nice, castle-like house that reminds us of Lord of the Rings. The room is quite cool during the spring. The host provides an extra blanket, electric heated foot warmer, and has a timed furnace, but if you really want your room to be in the 65-75 degree range, this probably isn't the place for you. However, the house is pretty interesting and definitely worth the visit. The host provides a coffee maker, towels, toilet paper, shampoo, and body wash. Parking is convenient. It's located a few blocks away from the beach-- we enjoyed the walk, but there is also meter parking downtown. I'm glad we had the opportunity to experience this wonderful house and neighborhood.”
600 sq/ft 1 Bedroom Condo at Wave Crest Resort. Well manicured grounds with pool over looking Pacific Ocean.
“Perfect location in Del Mar comes with the rarest amenity: spacious, easy parking is included! The unit is very clean and comfortable. Decor is minimalistic, but with the ocean right at your feet you really don't need anything else. Walking distance to Stratford Cafe for breakfast, Starbucks, Board & Brew, and ice cream, you don't even need to cook if you don't want to because everything is right there in the village. Saturdays there is a farmer's market within walking distance. Nicholas is very responsive, so if you have any questions during your stay don't hesitate to reach out to him. He responded to me in less than 5 minutes. The on-site staff is also very friendly and responsive. The building as a whole is quiet, and we hardly saw anyone else during our weekend stay, although we know there were other people because the parking lot of more than half full. During the day, there is a lot of "noise," but that's just normal beachgoers and the train that passes by; this was not a detriment at all, because if you're going to the beach in the summer you should expect there will be people around. Wonderful ocean breeze kept the unit cool during the day even without A/C, and at night ceiling fans kept things comfortable, even with the windows closed. The town gets pretty quiet after about 9 pm, so leaving the windows open wouldn't be a problem but it actually got a little cold! If you like ice, I recommend buying a small bag for the freezer. The ice machine works but is slow and very loud; the communal ice machine is closed due to sanitary concerns. The pool was open, but the hot tub was still closed. This is a smaller unit that most comfortably fits a family of four (only one bathroom), but with the perfect location little time was actually spent indoors, so it was just right as a respite from the mid-day sun and for crashing after a long day. Elevated cleaning regiment sealed everything for sanitary purposes, and late check-out is not possible due to these cleaning standards, but 11 am is still a generous check-out time, and we were able to leave our car in the parking lot for a few hours after we checked out to have lunch in the village, so that was a nice perk. Highly Recommend!”
Private beach bungalow- steps from a comparatively lightly visited beach, one of California's best. Bungalow is thoroughly sanitized before each guest's arrival by me personally (details below). I am now renting the entire house, before coronavirus the bungalow was shared. This is a perfect place to vacation while social distancing. Good sized room-queen bed, kitchen, living room, WiFi, TVs with Netflix & Amazon, beach towel & gear, great patio with BBQ. Key pad door lock for ease of entry.
“Jeffrey's place is perfect for accessing the beach at DelMar, and wow, what a beach it is. We'd been in San Diego area before, but nothing so peaceful and beautiful as this beach, and only one very easy walk block to it from Jeffrey's place. Also easy to access are all the good restaurants, just up the hill in "old" DelMar. Comfortable bed, nice house, and good conversations. And, we played cards with family who came down from other parts of So. Cal. to visit with special thanks to Jeffrey for accommodating that in his house! Fabulous, simply fabulous.”
