“The Granary is a wonderful homely self contained place to stay. It has a great little kitchen area and comfortable living space. I slept well in the cosy, restful bedroom. There was a great selection of breakfast foods including cereal, bacon, tomatoes, milk, lots of fresh eggs (laid by Linda and Tim’s chickens) and bread. I couldn’t have met two more kind, lovely people, and their friends and neighbours, who have helped me, following get my car stuck down a lane!. I am very grateful for the generosity and kindness I have been shown this week. It is a fab place to spend time away from the hubbub of daily living (the phone signal and WiFi isn’t too great) and take a proper break. Rest and enjoy the beautiful country side. Thank you Tim, Linda and your your wonderful neighbours.”
Wisteria Lodge has been created to give our guests a private, peaceful, cosy stay with a rustic feeling of getting away from it all. There are stunning views of Dartmoor from your decking. Perfect for walks on the Moor, the wonderful Beaches or just peacefully watching your favourite movies. I also want to reasure you that as the impact of the COVID 19 begins to really take hold, I have increased surface sanitisation/cleaning and endeavour to stay up to date via the Government website.
“I had a lovely time staying at this lodge with my boyfriend. The lodge was gorgeous, cosy and warm and the view from the decking was stunning. We went to painton zoo which was really fun and went for a meal at the bridford arms. The pub staff were really friendly and the meal was lovely too. Although we choose to drive as it seemed a bit unsafe to walk in the roads where it was so dark (sure it would be fine in the summer). I really liked the finishing touches at the lodge and she supplied all the essentials inc. a welcome bottle of prosecco! Miranda was an attentive host ensuring we got there safe. Thank you for a lovely weekend.”
A great barn conversion with wonderful views of Dartmoor , fully fitted kitchen with wood burner . the garden is fenced all around making it safe for children and pets with seating and a sun canopy.Great for Dartmoor walkers, amazing country side beautiful surroundings, full of history plus are own national trust Lydford gauge, local pubs ,Farm shop, dog walks, also the granite way bicycle route, plus you can walk onto Dartmoor from the barn.
“Wonderful detached converted barn with all the amenities you could want and dog friendly. There is a wood burner, very decent shower and a wonderfully comfortable bed and decent towels. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a washing machine, fridge/freezer, bike storage, private garden and patio, and stunning views. Lydford itself is only a smattering of houses but has a pub in easy stumbling distance and a castle (free to enter) and church to explore. Lydford gorge (national trust) is just round the corner although it was closed 2 out of the 3 days that we were there and most of the gorge was closed off for the winter season. Lydford forest is just down the road and is very pretty and safe to let dogs off the lead. Kim was great and checked that we were OK and was very welcoming. We'll definitely be going back in the spring/summer.”
