“House is in a great location, just a couple minutes drive to the beach and restaurants. We didn’t walk it because we had 2 small children with us and the road is hilly, but it’s walkable. Cat met us at the airport for pickup and was great. We were delayed getting in and he waited for us for about 2 hours, not knowing if we were even going to show up. He was really knowledgeable and helpful with anything we needed from tours or groceries or restaurants or anything. We would run into him frequently in Castara and our kids were always super excited to see him and would ask about him when he wasn’t around. Communication was great, we always got quick and helpful responses. We also rented a car through Taylor car rentals and would highly recommend. We were able to see a lot of the island while we were there. The car was very nice and the price was excellent. We loved our time in Castara!”

“Shem's place is a rustic and cozy wood cabin nestled in the hills just outside of Castara, a small fishing village. There are a lovely porch, a small living room/kitchen area, and two bedrooms. The vibe is comfy and cozy, not fancy but relaxing. Shem is an excellent host, quick to respond with any question or issue. She arranged for an airport pickup, and we ordered dinner from her, which she had ready for us on arrival. It was delicious and served as a great welcome to Tobago. We also booked a fantastic island tour with Devion, who is Shem's associate at the AirBnB. It's an easy 20-minute walk into town (downhill), and a challenging walk home (uphill), but we managed it. The beach is amazing. Yes, there are a lot of steps to the cabin, so if you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit, and valued meeting Shem and Devion. They really helped make our stay successful.”

“We chose this lovely cottage as we wanted something completely different to being held prisoner at an all inclusive resort. We hadn't used Airbnb before so did not know what to expect but their service as excellent, as was Andrew's. He met us at the airport and took us to our driver. We had opted to pick up our hire car later in the stay as we felt driving on unfamiliar roads in the dark after travelling for 12 hours wouldn't be the best way to start a holiday. Our driver, Ital, was great, really friendly and helpful and stopped at a shop for us to pick up some essentials he then picked us up again the next day to take us to stock up until we picked up our car. Brigdet, who looks after the location met us at the house and made sure we were settled. The house was just lovely, really pretty, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. When we were able to see everything properly in the light the next day we were delighted. The views, the sounds, the big top balcony, the lower veranda and the huge space around the property gave us the privacy and different experience we were looking for. Andrew gets the hosting thing just right, he's available when needed but not in your face, Bridget is lovely, she's around most days and always helpful but just leaves you to do your own thing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property if you like being away from the crowds. You do need sturdy trainers to get to the beach and waterfall, and you do need to be quite fit as it's more of a short hike than a walk. If you like your beach visits less challenging try the beach at Parlatuvier or Englishman's bay!”
