French Rural Retreat

Relaxing family and dog friendly Gite with it's own pond, on the border of Brittany in a peaceful rural area. Great for local walking, cycling and fishing. Nearby is La Rincerie, which provides water activities including a wake park, a lido beach and cafe bars. Supermarkets are a short drive away. Two hours drive from the ferry at St Malo or one and a half hours from Nantes airport. We are near the towns of Craon, Rennes, Laval and Vitre. Your hosts live next door and have a few cats.

Agnès and Rémi, retired, welcome you to the outbuilding of their 14th century farmhouse. Recently restored with eco-friendly materials, located in the center of a landscaped plot of 2 hectares crossed by a stream, century-old trees, beehives. Great for a relaxing and bucolic stay. Close to the famous Mayenne towpath, between Coudray and Daon. Numerous hiking, biking and horseback riding trails nearby. Châteaux de la Loire are an hour's drive away.

A charming little house in the countryside.

The house is located in the hamlet of La Jaillette, on the Oudon River. The place is rich in heritage (12th-13th century priory church open for visits). I restored it with the most natural materials (cob, lime, hemp, old floor tiles, etc.). It consists of a living room with kitchenette (20 m2), a bathroom with shower (4 m2) and a bedroom upstairs under the attic insulated with wood wool. Private garden with furniture and umbrella.

The bubble on the pond island has a comfortable queen size bed, table, and two small rattan chairs. Outside, on your private terrace you will have a double sunbed to lounge in the shade of the alder and a table to have breakfast . The terrace is completely private for you. There's electricity and a small canister of water. You'll have access to summer bathrooms and kitchen. Breakfast basket for an additional €10 per person
