The house is located on a farm with vineyards, fruit trees, aromatic herbs and a vegetable garden. On the farm, there is an infinity pool and a tree house that delights children. Nearby is the House of Eça de Queiroz, the Paths of Jacinto, the Arêgos Thermal Baths and the Douro River.

The holiday home was completely restored in 2021. It was originally built with 80 cm thick natural stones, which have been completely preserved. The house is imbedded in an orange grove and bordered by vines. It was formely the main house of a small farm. The farm (organic farming) is located in northern Portugal, in the district of Porto, in the municipality of Santa Cruz do Douro. The best way to reach the place is via the airport in Porto and then continue by train, Aregos station.

This is a country house aimed at rural tourism, managed by Nine, Mariana and Catarina. It is located in the parish of Salvador do Monte, in Amarante, district of Porto, Portugal (41º 14' 6'' N 8º 5' 31'' W). Our house, due to its characteristics and surroundings, with a swimming pool, a small forest and a totally fenced area, is essentially aimed at family vacations, especially with children. The house is not prepared for festive gatherings of groups of young people.

My place is close to Caldas de Arêgos, where you can enjoy its natural waters of recognized medical value, or practice water sports, such as canoeing, sailing and rowing. The house is situated in a completely quiet place with great views. The space is good for couples, adventurers, families (with kids), and pets. You can take advantage of the wood oven and the fireplace with its iron pots to make traditional dishes.

Vald´arêgos - Cortiço House

CORTIÇO: The apartment overlooking the Douro is named “Cortiço”. It is so called, in homage to honey, a secular food that was also produced on our property, exactly in this place. The family gathered to extract this nectar, laboriously produced by the bees, to serve not only as a delicacy, but also as a home remedy for everyday ailments.
